Оценок: 1152 | Просмотров: 179028
April 17 (Bloomberg) --- Blu Homes makes prefabricated houses that fold up in the factory for shipping and then unfold on site and are bolted onto a foundation in a day. Blu'sbreakthrough computer modeling, unique use of steel and wood and patented folding hinge technology makes homes that are economical to ship and can be built in half the time of traditional custom building. Bloomberg visits Blu's Vallejo, Calif. factory to learn how hinges and advanced software make building a luxury home in a factory possible. Blu Homes 🏡 use to be the way to go but not worth it anymore...there are still Prefab Modern home builders that have well thought out floor plan models that put customer needs before profits...Connect Homes, Hive Modular, and LivingHomes are three that come to mind.

Not efficient! I build/frame 5k sq.ft homes in right under 5 days with a 5man crew. Punch out &all! Subs finish the rest in all under 2 mo. So whose more effecient here??? Pointless in using a builder to prefab these homes & pay the same amount for a home in the midwest to 1 of these.

useless, this can be done for 10 to 30 thousand , he is trying to hijack the container idea by profiteering as usual, he offers nothing new in ideas and pricing
neckarsulme (1 год назад)
way too much money for a modular house

Great ideas, but so overpriced as to be in the realm of the rich and bored . . . .small prefabricated are supposed to be part of a solution to housing for everyone, but they're part of the problem.

Apparently the assholes making this high end bullshit forgot about the whole purpose of "PREFABRICATED HOMES"!!! It was to make them "SMALL AND AFFORDABLE" to the petty crumb earners in the world.

Blu started in Massachusetts and moved to the Bay area. When they did, prices rocketed upward. They also went from shipping all over America to just the Northern California area. You used to be able to buy an Origin (their entry level model) for $85-135k, but now they are priced at $495,000 and up. That is one hell of an inflation rate and price for 838 Square Feet. Use the payback machine to see what I mean. They are now pricing in foundations, but that does not explain the outrageous price increase. The factory construction methods are no different from what Modular and Mobile Home manufacturers use. They do use higher quality materials and their proprietary folding frame, but the price differential is crazy. Not sure I want a bunch of chipboard for a Half Million Dollars. In many parts of the US that money can buy you a large Brick site-built home of thousands of square feet.

My grandparents had a mansion on several acres of land for only 300K

So true, I checked their prices and they are Outrageous, They probably only moved to the bay area so they could cash in on the high market, and this is one example why people are struggling to buy homes because of people like this greedy ceo.Ugh

you might as well by a regular home.

Way to expensive, most models "start" at 1.3 million! The cheapest one, which looks like a very small mobile home, starts at $265,000!! Give me a break!

Aaah, homes for the rich and boring. I wish i could spend 1.2 mill on the Seabreeze. But I'd rather buy an old craftsman in pasadena ca at least i know it is made well is been standing for about 100yrs.

Do these pre fabs have the quality and energy savings ie low carbon footprint as German pre fab homes. Have your homes won any contests? My cousin has a pallet factory in Vallejo, CA. Is that where you are? Because the folding nature of what is shown in the video. It looks cheap. I said cheap. Make me a believer your not.

It would make a great retirement home. I like the floor layout, and definitely will considered this in a few years.

+Jaxxon the Healer Well, Crack is technically made in the US. Raw ingredients come from Colombia, Bolivia etc, but the manufacturing process takes place in the good ol' US of A. Nice one, Uncle Sam... That original comment was from 2014. Seems like forever ago...
