I'm 53 and had two DES stents put in 8 years ago. I stopped all medication, including aspirin 3 years ago when I cleaned up my diet (LCHF); is this wise? I don't know why the stents were put in, I had no symptoms, not even angina, and went for a routine check-up with a Cardiologist, because at my age it was a "wise" thing to do. I was on no medication at the time and had for years resisted my Doctors advise to go onto statins. The Cardiologist recommended an angiogram after seeing something during the recovery phase of the stress test. Unfortunately I did not know what an angiogram was (I assumed it was a type of check-up) and was very surprised when I found myself in ICU afterwards with two stents fitted. I never smoked, stopped added sugar as a kid and have never been overweight. Over the years since then I have become very resentful, angry even, and refuse to see a Cardiologist again. I'm now well informed and research everything due to my loss in faith in the medical industry.

Warfarin is so much worse and you do not need to be old for it to be fatal. My Mother's cardiologist said she could take aspirin but it would not be as good for her as Warfarin. European studies prove it can cause cancer. Warfarin weakened my mother's immune system. Cancer she had many years ago came back with a vengeance with in two months being on Warfarin. She passed two years ago. The doctors kept her on it even though she was terminal and on chemotherapy to extend her life. I fought with doctors and was over ruled every time when trying to get her off of it except by one doctor and that when there was nothing more to do for her but put her in hospice.

Had a heart attack/ stent but quit taking aspirin for months until the Cardiologist told me I have to take it to keep the blood from clotting around the stent. Did a little research and found that one aspirin will last for 10 days so now take it once a week. It's shameful that they prescribe an aspirin a day just so people will remember to take it.

Why is the FDA still allowing them to sell Aspirin along with other dangerous drugs that are killing people or making us sick? This seems like pure evil and should be a felony.

The cardiologist tried to push that on me, but I got a real bad feeling about it, researched it and saw all the bad repercussions, and stopped taking it!!! By the way, you CANNOT safely stop it unless you slowly taper off, so DON'T QUIT TAKING IT ALL OF A SUDDEN! You have to taper off real slow.
