I’ve tried celexa and I was so numb. I couldn’t laugh, cry, sex drive was gone(in a hypersexual person). Anxiety was gone but I couldn’t feel much so it wasn’t worth it. I was prescribed the medication you’re picking up I think because I remember it started with a ‘b’. Let me know how it went. I’m scared to try a new medication

Zoloft gave me extreme insomnia for the first 2 weeks and made my anxiety level go even higher
Vanessa (15 дней назад)
i’ve been on clonazepam for roughly 6 years and apparently you’re only supposed to be on it for 7-10 days because otherwise you could develop a dependency.. so that’s just really good and fresh
Dominique Dismuke (30 дней назад)
I have been on most of these medications. I think the worst was Remeron. It made me black out all the time. Abilify was way too much because I was also on Wellbutrin at the time which made me have suicidal thoughts. Seroquel makes me feel crazy. The only medication I can take is Ativan. It takes the panic attacks from level 10 to 1. Thank u for posting these videos.

It's very common to misdiagnosed bipolar that is actually BPD. the differential diagnosis I use is a bipolar just wakes up up or down and stays that way. It as an INTERNAL, chemical thing. BPD goes up or down (many times in a day) depending on EXTERNAL things (people disappointing us, stress, etc). You have so much insight though.. which makes me think you may have a lot of traits (like me) but you WILL GET BETTER.
L DR (1 месяц назад)
abilify is the fucking worst! i was only on it for a day but i was shaking so badly and was so dizzy i didn't take anymore. i couldn't leave my bed for a whole week after getting put on the smallest dose possible. antipsychotics is not something i respond well to. i have bpd and schizotypal with a shitload of other shit. so it's dope knowing that others think it's the worst too!:)

lamictal really saved my life and then one morning I woke up BOOM Stevens Johnson syndrome I looked like a burn victim after a few days it felt like someone poured acid on me I felt bad the days leading up to it and they said oh it's probably anxiety but my throat was closing up .. no its just anxiety ughhhh hate when the doctors do that it almost killed me.
Møther_øf_Drøgøns_ (2 месяца назад)
I was prescribed sertraline(Zoloft) for my depression and anxiety and so far its kinda working. I’m slowly getting my motivation back so that’s nice. My suicidal thoughts and self-harming hasn’t stopped though so whoops. It basically knocked me out for like two weeks though lmao. I’m also having some weird like, mood swings that I don’t usually have but whatever. I also used to be taking CBD oil but I’m off that while I adjust to the meds so that I can make sure that all side effects and anything else is cause of the meds and not the oil.
My Basic Journey (2 месяца назад)
Girrllll, I have only been on the medication wagon for a month (literally today marks a month that they started giving me meds) and I've already been through 3 different anxiety meds. They started me on Ativan and I had the WORST trip ever in the hospital. Like, I didn't know where I was, and I was hallucinating. It was scary. (It could have been that they gave it to me intravenously along with Dilaudid at the time. Idk.) Then they had me on Clonazepam. I didn't mind it, but they thought because of my past with drugs that it would be too dependent for me and switched it again. They now have me taking Gabapentin which is actually for nerve pain but helps with anxiety. However, it makes me drowsy, and a little out of it. So... on to the next one, I guess? They also started me on Topamax, but even after 2 weeks of using it steadily, my mood was NOT stabilized at all and I just stopped taking it. I didn't have any bad side effects or anything, but it wasn't doing any stabilizing like it was supposed to. Idk. It weirded me out. Thanks for making this video!! Thanks for making any of your videos. You're like my new favorite person and I can't wait to see more videos. I've literally binged all of your others. ALSO!! I saw you on Jordan's Insta story the other day and almost fucking died. I love that bitch so fucking much and I love that you guys are friends. I look forward to a collab video! <3 xoxo

Abilify caused restless leg syndrome for me and it kept me up for days and caused so much stress for me. Screw that medication. They throw that at everyone who first gets diagnosed as BPD. Sucks. Hope it works for some.

I am currently on Zoloft and Abilify, which help me so much the only side affects I had on abilify were extreme nausea in the beginning and increased appetite. Which sucks, Ive gained 20 lbs since being hospitalized. Thank you for sharing your experiences Sammy! We appreciate you

I got really severe stomach ache with celexa too, it only lasted two weeks I think but when I stopped taking it, about a year later, I had those same stomach aches for like two weeks. I’m on Prozac right now and it’s honestly helped me so much, although I have noticed that when I take it I feel like I’m constantly in a manic state, not as extreme but still manic, just not to a harmful extent lol

I was just diagnosed with ptsd and have been prescribed Zoloft and Lamictal. I'm optimistic 🙂 Thank you for your no bullshit videos; I think you're a very dope, kind soul, and I love how adorable you are bare faced.

JJ Honey Hey I’m happy for you! So great that you’re feeling better. Right now I’m only on sertraline and I have a meeting with my doctor in like a week or two to see how I’m doing and if we need to up the dose or switch the meds. Once again, it’s really great that you’re doing better.
JJ Honey (2 месяца назад)
+Møther_øf_Drøgøns_ My symptoms the first three weeks were really difficult to deal with, but once my body adjusted and the meds started working it was almost an overnight transformation ( I've been on them for a month and a half)! I can tell you that the meds have helped 1000%! I can make a giant list of all the ways I have improved. From being able to feel happiness, gratitude, being able to enjoy things in life, having energy and motivation, to interviewing and landing a job which normally is a horrible anxious experience for me due to social anxiety. I felt normal nervousness, but I was able to focus, show my personality, express genuineness...ability to make friends, to have more compassion for people, and to be able to just sit down and not have the weight of constant anxiety...and this is just smidge of it, it even goes deeper. Its safe to say they have transformed my life, who I am at the core, its allowed me to see myself, express the real me. I'll add that I'm a person that is quite self aware and observant, which I feel have been beneficial. When I can see the improvement it adds to my happiness and its a snow ball effect I think. I also went into this 110% wanting a change, and was incredibly certain that the medication was going to transform me. So I was very open to all of it, which I believe again, has played into how successful the meds have been for me. You may want to consider Lamictal. The Lamictal is what really really improved my anxiety. I'm now on 100mg, I believe 200mg is technically therapeutic dosages, but its helped me immensely. It helped somewhat at 50mg, but my psychiatrist and I agreed to increase the dosage, but my depression was improved so much, she kept me at 50mg. I dont think I'd feel as good as I do without the Lamictal as well. My psychatrist told me she likes to prescribe lamictal with the anti depressant, because of how it well works to stabalize mood and bring down anxiety, when coupled with the effects of the zoloft. A long winded response, but I hope it helps in some way. Nobody deserves to live life being incapable of feeling happiness.

JJ Honey I’m on sertraline(Zoloft) and while I don’t have ptsd, I do have multiple anxiety disorders and depression and so far it seems to be helping. How are you doing on it?

Effexor side effects do diminish after the 2-3 weeks! I suffered thru them but it is the only thing that has leveled me out. And yes girl people need to take meds if they need them. No shame

I have taken a crap ton of meds too.. celexa didn't work for me at all. And a lot of meds make me nauseas like you and I can't deal. Right now I'm doing Prozac, Zyprexa, and Trazodone and it's ok. Zoloft tried to kill me with nausea.

Why would they give you antidepressants if they thought you were bipolar?! They would just make you more manic.

I’m on remeron/mirtazapine 45mg for depression. Doesn’t make me sleep and isn’t doing much. I was on seroquel/quetiapine to sedate me and it was hell. They gave me such a high does I was flat on my arse and lucky if I was awake for more than 30mins at a time. Get the fear whenever they suggest I take it again

Thank you for actually sharing your experience with the world. This was something I dreamed of doing since I was like 13. I’ve dealt with severe anxiety and medications since I was 7 lmao. I had the exact same experiences with SSRIs like Zoloft and Prozac. Buspar and Risperdol were the worst for me. I had literal meltdowns from that shit. Such a blast from the past for me, I’m 19 now and struggle everyday with severe anxiety and panic attacks; now including severe depressive episodes...but I’m doing good lmfao. Definitely take Benadryl for anxiety attacks, just be warned antihistamines can make you really irritable if you’re anything like me lol. Propranolol may also help take the classic SNS reaction out of the panic attacks. I’m on a small dose to where it may only be the placebo effect; but hey it’s getting me through college so fuck it 😂 good luck!

Hey girl, I hope you see this... have you tried clonadine (blood pressure medicine) for your nightmares? It's helped a lot of ppl I know. Literally one person specifically has the worst night terrors and paralysis ... it works miracles for her. Please ask your doc. Best of luck, lovely.

im so glad I found your channel today. I've had depression/anxiety from early childhood and trauma of growing up with an unmedicated bipolar mother. I just started medication in June, I'm on 150mg Zoloft and 100 mg Wellbutrin. I've noticed a huge difference so far so hopefully it works for me for awhile
Jenna Janssen (4 месяца назад)
It’s interesting that the doctor who prescribed you Wellbutrin sounds like the horrible doctor that prescribed it to me as well. I had horrible side effects from it.
Rachel Blackwell (4 месяца назад)
I’m surprised you’ve never been prescribed a benzodiazepine for anxiety up until now or ambien for sleep? I was on both for 5 years for PTSD (amongst other things). Taking Zoloft and lamictal worked (I think) but they made me feel very numb and I gained 60lbs over a year. Xanax helped me the best though.
Nikki X (4 месяца назад)
Probably because they are habit forming, people get addicted real quick. With mental illness, the potential for addiction is even higher sadly. Doctors should always try other routes before prescribing things like that, and if they do prescribe them it should really only be for a short time.

Hey girl, my boyfriend suffers from BPD and Bipolar. Medical Marijuana has saved his life. It's legal in our state just incase it is in yours. Even CBD has allowed him to be off of psychiatric meds.

I don't like the stigma around it either & am glad you brought that up. We have similar stories & I get the whole conspiracy thing as well. It is frustrating because the goal is just to feel better or halfway normal. In terms of psychotropic medications, I have had many trial and error with numerous failures. I am on six psychotropic medications & was misdiagnosed initially as well. Thanks for sharing this video!

I’m so thankful for this video Sammy! I just came from your IG live 😊 I was diagnosed with adhd as a child but never took medication, I also was diagnosed with PTSD but again never medicated. There was just so much judgment I felt around medicating my issues. Now I’m 31 and suffering more than ever lol I am finally “giving in” and going to start medication for ADHD. I feel like I did myself such a grave disservice by not asking for help sooner! Thank you thank you thank you ❤️❤️❤️

Hey Sammy, thanks for sharing! I'm also on buspirone 10mg for anxiety and it also helps with weight loss! It honestly has helped me, just make sure to drink lots of water. 💖 stigma is hard but you're right, you are more important than what other people say/think of you. Keep fighting your battle girl, you've come so far and continue to encourage others to do the same. I also struggle with mental illnesses, and love watching your content and can relate to a lot of your stories, so keep spreading awareness and hitting your goals. You're doing amazing 💖🙌

I love you. <3 I was put on Prozac & a mood stabilizer (i forgot the name) last year. but the Prozac gave me awful headaches. I haven't been very proactive about my mental health, and seeing this video really inspired me to get back on the bandwagon with that this summer and take care of myself more. (The Benadryl thing does work btw. Not the way a prescription would, but it helps I've done it myself.) PS- Move back to Florida so we can be besties already.

My husband takes busporene *spelling? and a couple more of the same ones you take. It has helped with panic /anxiety attacks. Not bdp but has gad and clinical depression. I've noticed his nightmares have decreased too. But he's also found a really good therapist recently. Maybe a mix of both has helped. It's good to see this types of videos. I hate seeing the stigma of mental health /medication. Thank you for making this video😊
