I was born in bayamon & i moved to the mainland at 4 but have returned every year to visit family except the years following the hurricane (so last 2). Watching this absolutely broke my heart. I’ve heard from family how bad it was, but seeing it is different. I’ve gotta get out there to do something.

Look, my father and grandfather built this shack and it stood for years and now that a tropical storm came by and blew this shabbily built shack not built to any international building standards all over the island, it’s Donald Trumps Fault. I know we in Puerto Rico pay no earned income federal tax that funds FEMA or other government services, but we need big money now!

Why has Puerto Rico been left behind. Only have been twice 2016 & 2017. First holiday without kids. We explored as much as we could. Met the nicest people. Invited to their homes. Gifts. Kindness. Why? If this was Florida at our presidents resort it would have been repaired immediately. Hello to all our friends. You are in our prayers, all people on island. Love to you all.

Why don't you talk about how the loca mayor and loco truck driver that wouldn't allow any supplies to leave the port. Union trucker demand payouts before they go to work. Mayor giving speach in front off supplies as far as the eye can see.

Now the Mayor of San Juan who was such a hero bashing Trump is under FBI investigation along with most of her family, friends, and administration for corruption and stealing aid supplies and money. Pretty sure someone told you so long ago. Same FBI that hates Trump, thought I would save you liberal fucktards the trouble of whining that false bullshit. :-/

I am a Puerto Rican living in the Mainland! I was born in the City of Ponce, in the community of Mameyes which was destroyed in 1983! I do not know how it feels to live in a situation as the one most Puerto Rican are experiencing today! Puerto Ricans in the Island must have patience with the US! The US is tackling many problems on many fronts! Puerto Ricans in the Island must pray for our president Donald Trump! ..Why? ..Because our president Donald Trump is being persecuted to the hilt by the evil DemonRats here in Washington DC. Our Economy here in the Mainland is growing tremendously due to the growth policies this president has implemented. He will help Puerto Rico as soon as he can battle these DemonRats in Washington! These DemonRats in Washington DC are making his ability to administrate our nation and help Puerto Rico very difficult! Please do not vote for DemonRat Politicians into office! These people are evil to the core! They don't care about Puerto Rico! President Trump does! Don't listen to anything the Main Liberal Media says about Trump! They are evil too! God Bless Puerto Rico! ...It will soon be a New Island if these evil DemonRats don't get in Trump's way! Trump is an excellent smart administrator, but these Moronic Idiot DemonRats are making it difficult for him! A Vote For Reublicans, is a vote for the people!

I feel for the American citizens of PR. The biggest problem is that the Island has a vast percentage of Undocumented people that cannot account for. The PR government has NOT been truthful and supportive to the citizens of PR. Union leaders on the Island are demanding more money to rebuild and stabilize. The government in PR is withholding millions on millions of dollars and are only filtering a little to help build certain areas. Over 40 Billion dollars have been distributed. So why is the news media not showing the reconstructing? Restoration of power? I bet u 100% That female Mayor who has been voiceful is sitting in a well Air Conditioned home, with power all around her property. You dont have the news media covering that part though....

It's a big mess. There is a right and there is a wrong? It is what it is. What does the bible say? God helps those who help themselves. No, I am not heartless. I am going to be very crude. .............. What will happen if you don't "DO" your ole lady? ....... Uh, someone else will. The Hurricane Maria was Geo engineered, so was Irma. And Jose. Too much PRIDE crap being expounded and too much denigrating. on Puerto Rico. Just Fix IT, A.S.A.P. There's nothing I can add to this. EXCEPT ........ 2 more Hurricanes had been aimed at the USA ...... BUT......... HARP was used to move them out to the N.E Atlantic. Lot's of stuff happening. No, the USA has not forsaken P.R., It's Tough. The Midwest Floods 500 yr Flood? (Um, for 40 days and 40 nights??? RAIN ) The Ca. fires? Very very strange. The forensics of the fire showed it was VERY intense and in a lot of places, it was circular? Uh, WTF? The Virgin islands? See, the V.I and Puerto Rico guard the approaches to the U.S Mainland. These Islands are unsinkable Aircraft Carriers. USA going thru some extremely tough times ........IF........... it were another country it would be reeling, staggering, but in spite of ALL THESE "natural??? disasters it continues to function and gives never-ending aid. Yes, USA citizens are spoiled, what other country keeps on giving and trying to get things back to normal like the USA? The USA is under ..... a nonstop unconventional attack...... from some foreign and domestic actors. Now talk has surfaced that the OIL Spill in the Gulf of MEXICO came out of the blue. New thinking is that it was the result of a directed energy thingy. OIl companies are not gonna be that STOOPID to say a few bucks when they KNOW that a little repair or safety protocols will save BILLIONS. > Money being shifted from one hand to the other and along the way the (SIDE) Insurance holders profit. After the Situation in the Middle East is kinda winding down, then the N Korean thingy starts to heat up. AND even a couple of cruise missile attacks were initiated. 1 at Japan and another at Hawaii. Both were averted. "SOMEONE" wants the USA in another round of bigtime spending in another WAR. It was a Submarine, and they were trying to blame Isreal ???? So you see or rather don't see, Stuff's going on. Puerto Rico will be helped.

thank you I'm from the mountains of utuado where we the Iberian Celts consider home including the Alps and canary people we really are different breed compare to the rest of the island and yes PR can transform her self to a brilliant Star if the ancient philosophers can educate the people in all aspects of life in reality is real easy to build Puerto Rico in economy systems the answer is in front of you eyes and you don't even see it Puerto Rico can be built from the ground up so easily build a cross and you will have four sides and utuado is in the middle then build a Celt spiral start the circle around the island and you will finish in utuado perfect economic system I hope you understand my language know who I'm a ancient walking library but remember work with the understanding of natural laws no against it ok thanks again brother

First of all... America is not the US... It is the united states of America for a reason.. It belong to the Americas.. Just like Brazil, just like Mexico., just like Cuba. 2nd We have been the oldest colony in the world , citizenship was given so we could fight US wars. Whoever wrote we're the cesspool is definitely a person who needs to pick up a book, read moreor get more involved with the outside world... We have great human resources, we have an astronaut in space, Jose Acabá, great entertainers like Ricky Martin, great Boxer like Miguel Cotto and Tito Trinidad, great soldiers like the Borinqueneers which were awarded the gold congressional medal, for godsakes NASA and Microsoft continuously come to PR to hire people for a reason. We have great natural resources, though devasted, nature finds its way... Our bioluminescent bays, the only rain Forrest the US has is here in PR. Even our white house stood before the one on Pennsylvania avenue. Anyone that says PR is a cesspool us definitely someone who doesn't know our history or has even been here. People need to stick to what they know

PlatinumCRV (4 months ago)
Technically, under a colonial status, it's true. They can't do much for themselves since the United States takes most part of their income. However if they gained independence, they would have a pretty good income for themselves to invest on their island. Unlike the common opinion written by many ignorants found in the comment section, the USA actually gains more money than it spends on Puerto Rico.

Why blame FEMA? Its been known for years that the PR electrical grid was a ticking time bomb. Blame those leaders who where made poor decisions so that there own pockets could be a little heavier. The people of PR need better leadership; leadership that has a strong sense of civic duty and sets an appropriate moral standard to govern by.
Rit the Rugger (3 months ago)
Gee Uriah, you make it sound like Puerto Rico is just like any of the states. Poor/crumbling infrastructure? Check. Corrupt government? Check. Probably this is a Dominican who  are freeloaders aliens supported by Puerto Ricans They risk their lives in the sea to get to the island to get free housing, food, education,, school lunch for their kids and medical service all paid by Puerto Ricans. Then they go to  NY to be freeloaders again and steal food stamps to send food to Dominican Republic with money from tax payers a foreign country. Then full of envy and inferiority complex come to these videos to attack the people who served them when they needed like all freeloaders do, because of their inferior position. Poor leeches!
Nino Gonzalez (8 months ago)
It's lamentable how FEMA has handled this tragic situation in Puerto Rico so incompetently. It begs the question: Would a U.S. president other than Donald Trump have made a difference? It's been very "sad," to use one of his favorite adjectives, except he uses the word lightly, almost mockingly. Notice how FEMA arrived empty handed as shown in this video. Many of these places are some of the most inaccessible places on the island, and after three months, there has been very little progress, if any. Notice that the man who was assisted on the mountainside was a Vietnam veteran. There are many like him all over the island. Thank you for your service, sir, and let's hope that the Trump administration will undergo a small transformation in helping our American citizens on this devastated island. So much American resources wasted overseas in military conflicts devoid of any meaning, yet our most immediate needs are neglected in the most reprehensible ways.
