"Hiking the trail to get fit is a shitty reason in my opinion." Uhmmmmm..... I think any reason important enough to motivate you to attempt the AT is a GREAT AMAZING WONDERFUL reason.

Because you hold onto your fat is one reason why long-distancing hiking is one of the very few physical activities where woman are almost on even keel with men. Us men will hike for days and burn through all our sugar quick and hit an energy wall, whereas you women tap into your fat. That's why men and women finish long distance hikes almost in the same amounts of time. We may be stronger with more endurance but we tap out our energy reserves and you girls got the energy supplies for massive distance (even marathons are not long enough for this advantage, only months long hiking).

You should go to the gym, otherwise muscle will turn into fat again.

Hi, do you think adding more rest days could help with the tiredness you talked about getting on the trail? I want to go on a 2 month hike next summer, but I don't want to feel like I'm hurting my body doing so :)

+Vitele absolutely yes! More rest days and lower miles per day will help with tiredness for sure!

Good topic. Now did you meet any guys that already had a high metabolism and were average weight that had sever weight loss problems during their hike? As on my recent IAT Quebec Section Hike, a 35 day, 650km hike, I was 215 pounds before I started and afterwards I was 183.5 pounds. Oh yah you now have fine to watch my IAT Quebec video series which is now on day 10 of 35 and they are released daily. Second question is what clothes did you wear and have in your pack during the different stages on the AT? Thank you and hope you will follow me on my AT Thru hike starting 18 March 18 eh 🇨🇦⚓️.

+Adrian Redgwell hey there! I have two different videos on my channel talking about what is in my pack. I met a few guys who were pretty concerned about losing a lot of weight, but I think they were fine. Towards the end of my sobo hike I wasn't around that many people, so I didn't observe how everyone ended
