Pleease, yours is the regular american dream. Try building an empire, when you come from one of Europe's poorest areas such as Calabria. Thats where Gianni came from, and in 6 years he had built an empire that was worth a billion

Ralph may have his name on the designs however, as it was stated in this video, he has a vast team of designers and creator and yes they're his ideas and yes he has to ok the designs, still those Final designs are not 100% his own. Just like the Olsen twins line of clothing, Ralph hands over the idea and Someone Else creates the Final finish. ps: I worked in the Polo factory in Ma and know 1st hand that there's nothing special about his brand except that his name is Huge in the fashion industry.

Bloomberg: Thanks for this great video of Ralph Lauren.... I love his brand because you can afford and look lovely!!! he made it his business to do that for "everybody". Health and happiness for Ralph, family, friends and all of his customers. Cheers from New Orleans the city of jazz and the "cajun" food.

Ralph Lauren was my #1 most favorite fashion idol since the 70s (when I was living in New York) until 2000 (Hong Kong and Shanghai). Unfortunately, in the past 10 years, the men's collection (which was meant to be classical timeless and bold and great taste) have deviated and deteriorated to "mediocrity and lost all its characteristics and uniqueness". Ralph Lauren has retrenched the BLUE label (which is Ralph Lauren's core value and soul and the greatest), and introduced BLACK LABEL (which was horrific) and BLUE label (which is boring and too pricy) ... I am so sad to see my favorite Ralph declined in the past decade to now. I still love to visit the stores which is still beautiful, but always walking out emptied handed and disappointed. I was in the Paris and Hong Kong flagship stores recently, and the men's wear is nothing like the past and so disappointing ! If Ralph Lauren wants to revamp and restore its GLORY days of 70s to 90s, and siginificantly improves its brand image, consumer love, revenue and profits, please let me know !!! I love to help and guarantee big turnaround success !!! .

He taps on aspirations of everyone who will never play polo.
The logo is visionary but women clothes should have women polo emblem.
The logo of Ralph Lauren's is very sophisticated but men dress should have men's golf emblem and women should have women golf emblem.

Ralph Lauren ad on a Ralph Lauren video. I'm proud of you, YouTube, finally figured out the advertising algorithm
Alpha Omega (1 year ago)
RL prices are ridiculously high. They sell those waffle lounging pants or sweats $50 each, yet the sizing is never correct because they are super long you would have to have it resized for an additional $20. That's total of $70 per sweat pants, in other words pajamas. After the every wash it shrinks, then bulges out super large. These companies won't survive for another 10 years. Clothing is gone out of fashion with an end destination.

The fashion and design industry is very cut throat. Many famous designers have cut their own throat to get to top.So are you ready to do that??That's the million dollar question?Besides you have to be creative, hard working, and discipline your self.Of course you need a team effort.

"That's the kind of pressure that comes from the immigrants' arriving and thinking that they don't look right, that they are kind of funny-looking and maybe shorter than everyone else, and their clothes aren't expensive...That's why many of them began to sew, so they could imitate the patterns of the day. You were making yourself over. You were turning yourself into an American." -Frick Polykoff, in Malcolm Gladwell's "What the Dog Saw"

If a Jew is white, what are their claims in the Middle East?
LoRd Dye (9 months ago)
He's not just "White". He's Jewish. Jewish people are the lowest of white looking people to society who got discriminated in America just like the blacks. This was not "white privilege". The very idea that you think the only reason he succeeded in life is because he wasn't black is simply disgusting.

Wow, they really glossed over brand controversy at 21:50 quickly and avoided saying anything else potentially negative about the company. Bloomberg can't manage critical thinking about their game changers?

Like any brand it is all about selling the 'lifestyle.' If you buy into you sure. Just because you are wearing Polo isn't going to get you invited to some elitist Polo match or become some rugged cowboy. What you are wearing is a big ass RL on the chest.
Sigma Lowe (2 years ago)
All the people they show who are game changers are jews. lol they act like joe smoe can do the same thing. lol fucking goy thinking they can be luke skywalker as well. here is a hint the jews own fucking everything and I mean everything. Goy arent allowed to have anything. Simple!
Lalo3g1 (10 months ago)
Sigma Lowe you keep thinking that. It gets you nowhere and it's false af. Get educated first

jom james (2 years ago)
ralph was right about the company going public
Higher Power (2 years ago)
Think about it. His line has been done many times before. A basic polo shirt that actual early polo players wore. He simply copied what the Anglo Saxon's are wearing and put his spin on it! The aristocracy way of dressing. You can go back 80 years and see those clothes at Harvard, Yale,Princeton.....nothing new yet just another way of doing it. Simplicity is the greatest idea that no one ever thought of!
uber eat my ass (1 year ago)
No one ever thought of? Minimalism is very popular! But I agree the greatest reason for its success was the branding. Akin to how Steve Jobs transformed Apple.
Ms. Chanandler Bong (1 year ago)

The secret to making it is use simple ideas and make the clothing that most everyone would wear! Hence Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors etc.
