Continuing to help raise awareness on the dangers of heart disease during the month of February (Heart Health Month), today’s video is all about the best foods to eat to help lower your blood pressure. A couple of weeks ago I shared a video on 9 Habits to Help Lower Blood Pressure. If you’ve not watched that video, go back and do so because it gives an overview of what lifestyle factors you can embrace to help you manage your blood pressure naturally. Sometimes it’s just a matter of making one or two shifts in your habits that can lead to your success. Food is medicine and medicine is food. There is no distinction and unfortunately, we’ve been taught differently. Through marketing and misleading information, we’ve been told we can eat virtually whatever we want and then, when something goes awry with our health, there is a pill out there that can help us manage it. But all medications come with side effects and sometimes those side effects can mean having to take more and more pills! This never happens when you clean up your diet and use a balanced approach to health. When you change the way you eat and the way you live your life, you not only often get the results you intended, but the side effect is often that you feel and look better too! 🍋🍅Since implementing Heron methods a months ago, I just wanted to let you know that I did just one day of the 3 exercises and went from 155/95 to a reading, the very next day, of 121/82. I’m so excited, and I hope to be even lower by the end of the week. I’ve been on Amlodipine and Lisinopril for months, and haven’t been able to get it lower than 135/90. Since I was Twenty-six years old, I had been already struggling with hypertension and I required to take medication. The nice thing about the “yumkum shocking guide” (G00GLE it) blood pressure solution is its easy and uncomplicated content. I went through this in probably two nights. In combination with a blood pressure level monitor I picked up I was able to take my pressure down from 148/98 on Thanksgiving to 116/78 in about a month.

Beverly Frazier You can also crush the garlic in food and eat it. I sometimes crush mine in bread and the eat it. But sometimes it still burns my stomach.. Just try not to use too much garlic on the bread.

Beverly Frazier Yes. You can. Just boil some water turn off flame, then throw in the chopped garlic. Let steep for about 15-20 minutes then strain and sweetened with honey or a 0 calorie sugar substitute..i.e. monfruit sweetener. Note..the more crushed and the more garlic the stronger it will be. It's way more tolerable than eating raw garlic. I use about 10 crushed garlic cloves. You can also add a little raw ginger if you like.

Yes I got high blood pressure 3 months ago, for the first time although i am 62...Dr has prescribed pills which I am not taking and have changed my diet and also drink a lemon a day.....thank you for your video I will try to find Natto....kale I hate but perhaps if I blend it with yogurt.....

You can buy Natto at any Asian Supermarket these days. Now,when you see the packet of 3 or 4 square shape styrofoam containers with mustard and the sauce, I would not eat the sauce although it makes the Japanese natto taste better. It is a challenge to enjoy natto without the sauce package. My alltime favorite Asian cure for high bloodpressure is without a doubt " Ginger". Works better than natto or garlic.

Is it true that fructose is bad for your BP? I always considered fresh fruit really healthy, but I have read some things about fructose being really bad (not just for BP). Do berries/apricots/apples/plums/... really contain so much harmful fructose that somebody with high BP should cut them out of their diet?

Many of the foods you recommend (in this video, kale, flax, and walnuts) are known goitrogens.  Would you please do a video on how much goitrogenic food is safe for those who are on thyroid hormone replacement for hypothyroidism?

Yep, they also contain potassium... but they are higher in sugar than say, an avocado.... so it all depends on how much total sugar is in your diet. Keeping sugars down is a main habit of helping to prevent heart disease.
