One thing I noticed about your video, they do not offer unlimited talk or texting. And if your carrier is O2 and your allowed only 200 to people on other carriers, that is insane. Thankfully we don't have that here in the USA
Ma Lay (15 дней назад)
What about for people who don't want plans? Like for those staying less than a month don't want contracts.
Youssef Yazidi (1 месяц назад)
can you try out lycamobile

Good video but I get 5 gigs high speed for 35 bucks a month but I have to buy my phone on the spot(I don't mind because i don't buy the newest phones and I keep them for 3 to 4 years), plus unlimited call and text, to anyone. And I think the U.S seems better but honestly I don't know
Little Pussy (3 месяца назад)
Why Philippines why, why is it that we only have 5mbps why!?

Hey stetson why don't you come to INDIA. In India we have 3 GB/DAY plans and it has amazing speeds. Plz compare it with us carrier plans and its in trending. Plz make a video on this topic. I'm biggest fan of your video genre and your style.

You talk about units, what the heck is a unit? And I don't use WhatsApp why do you keep referring to WhatsApp?
Stetson Doggett (8 месяцев назад)
A unit is either 1 minute of talk time or 1 text message. It's how my German friend referred to them! And WhatsApp is a fabulous free messaging app.
Shakib M (9 месяцев назад)
These plans are shit

Have you considered coming to the UK, our plans here are really good for the price (usually if you go with Sim-Only and not with the carriers direct) also we have EE which is a mesh of the Orange And T-Mobile Networks here in the UK Becuase they merged creating EE (Everything Everywhere)
Samo762 (11 месяцев назад)
you americans always get shafted... I pay around $2.50 for a 30-day 2GB plan in Poland - the best part is it works anywhere in Europe at no additional cost (but it is limited to 450mb per trip)
Adam Stewart (1 год назад)
In the UK unlimited text, talk and data is £30 on a 3p day rolling contract, 1GB for $40 seems WAY to expensive for me, didnt know it was that expensive abroad
Tiago Almeida (1 год назад)
In Portugal, I have Vodafone, and I pay 17€(20$), and I have 5GB, 5GB for Youtube and Twitch, Unlimited calls and text, Unlimited data for 13 apps, live Facebook, Instagram, Spotify. In Vodafone, i can have Spotify Premium.

*The age-old business mantra, "Customer is King", seems to have lost validity on this market!* I've compared the UK prices and deals to those of the two countries (USA and Germany) that you've thoroughly analysed. I've found out that the mobile phone industry (irrespective of which country you are in) is operated by an oligopolistic market, where a very limited number of unscrupulous get-rich-quick firms dominate the entire market and (instead of competing with each other) fix and maintain the prices of products and services available on the entire market at an agreed level by controlling the entire supply and demand, hence there is no notable difference between them. in terms of their pricing policy and strategy! the only difference, in this regard, is occasional deals and offers!

where's the unlimited data in other countries ? i use like 15+ GB a month like a lot of other people. why don't other countries adopt unlimited data ?

Lycamobile DOES work in the US. They run on the T-Mobile network and offer plans at about the same pricing as MetroPCS. The only plan that isn't a ripoff is the $29 per month plan with 1GB of LTE data. Which is what MetroPCS offers just without the unlimited music streaming. Wouldn't really suggest it unless you sign up as a Germany customer.
harpreet na (2 года назад)
in india free sim, free call in all india , free sms, free 4g data i means everything for 4 month & 149 indian rs { (us 2.234 ) (Euro 1.99) } for 28 days on jio in bsnl 1 rs ( 0.01 usd ) per gb & free call all india with in 2.3 usd or near with all tax
Swastik Agrawal (1 год назад)
harpreet na data is trash in India. I went there for a month in September 2017 and none of my youtube videos loaded on Jio. Music streaming worked but was a pain on extreme quality(requires 3 Mbps consistent because it's the highest quality). Plus it's capped at 1GB per day so you can do basically nothing.

You should consider going to Denmark. Lebara offers 10 hours of talk time, unlimited talk and text and 30 GB 4G data for the price of 15 dollars - oh! And it's off contract (pre-paid) ... I'm not on prepaid and have 20 hours of talk time, unlimited texts and 35 gb of 4G data - and it's 15 dollars pr. month as well. Having a phone in Denmark is extremely cheap. You can even get a plan for 18 dollars including unlimited talk and text, unlimited data on your phone and 60 gb's for tethering. Look it up! Oh! And btw. Since it's so cheap in Denmark we don't use WhatsApp. We use Messenger/Facebook or just iMessage since everyone has an iPhone in Denmark and everyone has at least 8-20 gb of data pr. month.

Oh! And we have a carrier who offers 40 gb of data, unlimited talk and text and roaming in 42 countries (EU and USA) and you can sign up for that plan for only 36 dollars. And it's their most expensive plan ...
Michael Frøsig (2 года назад)
Oh! And we have lycamobile as well, and they offer 35 gb of 4G data with 10 hours of talk time and unlimited texts for 15 bucks as well (prepaid)

Hey, Mr. Doggett, nice video! Interesting to see an American reviewing the European/German market. If you want a complete and more or less up to date overview over all German prepaid plans, check out http://www.prepaid-wiki.de 👆 Hope, Google/You have no problem with linking another page. Use Google Translate as Browser- Plugin when loading the page. Hope this is helpful. As in Europe frequencies for GSM based cell- phone services are strictly regulated, you can take nearly all Europe sold phones without a sim- or netlook to another carrier without borders. CDMA is and was, up to my knowledge, never used for consumer communication. Phones sold by American/Canadian GSM carriers can, up to my knowledge, be unlocked for the European market through the carrier. But maybe they come completely unlocked these days. So, all you need is to grab a good simcard at the next kiosk and get it in your phone and activate it yourself with a call or on the website. Some good hotlines will lead you to an English assistant. This will, at least in Germany, become more complicated in future as no simcard will be sold without a digital copy of your ID, because of the IS- attacks in Europe. The easiest for Americans may be to have project fi as you don't have to switch numbers and simcards and the prices are fair. Google Voice is another great thing and can be described as a travellers secret weapon. Next year Brussel will cut the European Roaming charges to zero for data, minutes and SMS. Within the EU you pay a lot more in Germany for data and minutes. 20€ in France will buy you unlimited US- and EU landline conversation, france wide mobile communication and 50!!! GB of data. Next year the European mobile market will become bigger as companies need to compete against new competition. In Germany we have T- mobile, (was a government ruled communication service before - "Deutsche Post" which outsourced and privatized the company to a globally acting business exchange), the British owned Vodafone (which were connected to Verizon somehow), and o² (the Spanish provider, also active in South America) networks. In Germany T- Mobile is definitely the one with the best overall service, but also the most expensive. And E-Plus was bought by o2 last year. So, there are just 3 big players!

Quality comment! Thank you for the impressive amount of information!

Dude You compared the German Services with Americas most expensive one!!! You got Sprint unlimited everything for 70 Bucks or evern Metro Piece of !@#$ with $55 unlimited everything. I use to be with Sprint and my Data record for one month was 96 GB thru LTE!!!!!! Then there are all the other !@#$ services like Straight Talk (I guess that's walmart) and chricket. There are more on the rise. But Verizon is the most expensive Service in the US
Xander Rendon (2 года назад)
Can you review lycamobile for the US

I can say that because I use Telekom or T-Mobile
Murat Tutorials (2 года назад)
I live in Germany and T-Mobile (Telekom) is that expensive because it's the best Carrier like Verizon in U.S fastest 4G LTE best Coverage best Reliability
Nico Villalobos (2 года назад)
T-Mobile US is a publicly traded company. Deutsche Telekom owns a majority of the shares 70%+ I believe. DT let's TMUS run its self independently. That's why the plans are substantially different. DT is T-Mobile in Germany. I believe they call it Telekom in Germany.

Hey buddy you have serious acne problem!!! the solution is eat garlic ( tiny peace) every day IF you can; the other wash your face with backing soda live for a few minutes and than wash it all; and of curse drink more water.... no SUGAR! ok that way you not going to spend a lot money and the stupid cremas!!! ok good luck and NICE video brother.
Rophoenix (2 года назад)
You are the one to shut my mouth buddy? I'm in Queens, New York let me know when you going to be around HERE!!! and tell me to that face to face. LOOK the message I'm trying to help this guy; if you are sensitive is your F#$%& problem!!! Easy fix is to buy proactive creme in ONE week his face is going to be clean, BUT you going to have the creme for the rest of your life or the acne is coming back stronger than before ok....So don't be too sensitive!!!
M. 2kaç (2 года назад)

Perhaps it's not that Germany offers "inexpensive" prepaid plans but that we're ripped off here in the U.S.
