I started watching your videos after my last failed (second attempt)and I honestly watched the 80-90%% of all your videos.Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. God Bless you Sarah.

What confused me are hyperglycemia... and hypoglycemia. Type 1 only will be hypoglycemia? And type 2 will be hyperglycemia? I know what they are mean but I do not know how to applied them on type 1 and 2
rnstudent romeiro (1 год назад)
thank you so much, I total understand know. :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) you are the best :)
RegisteredNurseRN (1 год назад)
Because the way insulin works by taking the sugar within the blood and transporting it. If the patient takes too much insulin or yes, isn't eating properly OR is sick....the insulin can cause hypoglycemia.
rnstudent romeiro (1 год назад)
RegisteredNurseRN how can the PT has hypoglycemia when he/she getting too much insulin? Perhaps because the PT isn't eating? Hyperglycemia I total understand. Insulin will take my glucose...
rnstudent romeiro (1 год назад)
RegisteredNurseRN thank you for understand me. Yes I meaning it. My brain is burning now. 😂
RegisteredNurseRN (1 год назад)
Hello :) Are you meaning hypoGLYCEMIA and hyperGLYCEMIA (instead of hypo/hyperTENSION)? If so, hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia can occurs in both Type 1 and Type 2. In type 1, the patient isn't producing insulin via the pancreas. Therefore, the sugar the patient eats can't be used within the cells. Hence, the sugar will hang out in the body and cause HYPERglycemia (which causes A LOT of problems on the organs etc). Type 1 patients are at risk for hypoglycemia as well, especially when using insulin. Type 2 patients have insulin but the cells are resistant (in other words stubborn and won't use the sugar available in the body), therefore the patient is at risk for hyperglycemia as well. Really both Type 1 and Type 2 can struggle with both hypo and hyper glycemia but the patho of why is different. I hope that makes sense.

I'm using this video as a supplement to my lecture notes and you cover everything my notes cover as well as making it much easier to understand! Thank you so much! I will most definitely be using your other videos to help with my studies.
