Chile does not possess the largest lithium deposits in the world. That honor belongs to Bolivia, mainly concentrated at the Salar de Uyuni salt flats. It is thought to have over half of the world's reserve of lithium.

Rick Sabian (11 days ago)
That's why I bought SQM stock, which is doing quite well right now, and will only do better as they double their production in the next year.
Yankı Kıran (12 days ago)
I wanna taste it.
Morpheus (13 days ago)
Sounds like Snart became a narrator.
Bolivia has the highest amounts of lithium in the world and it's believed that it will one day be considered the "green Saudi Arabia." I'm sure it won't be long before Western media starts slandering the country's leaders as sociopaths, and genocidal dictators, so the West can begin the process of overthrowing their government and installing "democratic" governments.

I always thought that batteries were environmentally friendly and that the reason they are treated like toxic waste once you dispose of them was to trick other nations to buy the oil we produce.

Pickup trucks being the most expencive of vehicles that rot faster than any other vehicle. The guy said that those trucks rot in the salt flats. No suprise.
RC Hobbyist Extreme (1 month ago)
Any mining procedure requires these methods of mining. Silver and gold mining pollute the soil more than any other mining operation. the US has the least lithium mines while south America has the most.

The mobile phone, computer and laptop batteries do not last very very long and are thereby crap. This is awefull that they are now polluting the planet at a high pace. So, knowing that the Nissan Leaf batteries do not last very long, then we should worry that our governments should start inputing high standards.

Using gravity induced vacuum distillation and about 100 20 meters tall 40 meters in diameter tanks with pool walls 10 meters up around each tank to take half the tanks capacity they work in sets you fill them up then let the water drain into the pools creating a hard vacuum at the top the close then pool valve and pump in mineral-rich water in that then boils and wants to expand as steam it goes to the second tank through a condenser coil and maintains the vacuum in the system this leave the minerals in the first tank. The second tank and pool can be flushed out and put back through to the first till the second tank only has fresh water that you then pump down into the mine to draw up more minerals. You could triple the output of this mine and retain the water so the flamingos can be left alone with the marshes water untouched by man. you might ask where would you get the heat source or energy? The sun, just paint some pipes black as water boils in a vacuum at room temperature this is easy and cheap just needing standard water pumps to move everything around.

Why is this clannel so obsessed with batteries?
kinn grimm (3 months ago)
"It has nothing to do with the flammingos" Right, they double production which will need more space, water and have you ever heared about environment-friendly mines? Don't kid yourself, we make nature bleed over our tech obsessions.
