Here are a few tricks to help the medicine go down! Step 1: Make dog sit Make your dog sit. Tip Never call a dog to you in order to give her medicine. You don't want her to associate being called with being dosed! Always seek her out yourself. Step 2: Pry open mouth Use one hand to pry your dog's mouth open. With your other hand, pop the pill way back into her mouth. Make sure the pill goes behind the back of her tongue. Tip A second person to help may come in handy if your dog is especially large or wriggly. Step 3: Hold mouth closed With one hand, hold the dog's mouth closed, snout pointing up, while gently rubbing her throat with your other hand. Step 4: Wait for swallow Once the dog swallows and licks her lips, you can be sure that the pill is safely down. Tip Stay nearby until you know the pill's been swallowed. Plenty of dogs are adept at concealing their meds and spitting them out later. Step 5: Check with vet If you're having difficulty, check with your vet to see if it's safe to give your dog a pill concealed in food and, if so, try hiding the medicine in something soft like cheese, cream cheese, or peanut butter. Let the dog lick your fingers after you feed her the pill—that will ensure she swallows. Tip Be sure to tell your vet what food you might try—some foods interact badly with certain medications. Step 6: Crush pill If your dog doesn't fall for the pill-in-the-food trick, crush the pill, mix it with a little sugar water, and use a baby syringe to squirt the liquid into the dog's mouth. Step 7: Try pill gun Still not working? Try a pill gun (available from your vet or local pet store) to propel the pill down the dog's throat. Step 8: Give a treat When the pill is all gone, praise your dog, pat her, and give her a nice treat to take away the taste! Did You Know? Blowing on a dog's nose will encourage it to swallow.

Apple Cider Vinegar can heal your dog or cat

04:45
Apple cider vinegar saved my pet, Sasha. This simple home remedy does wonders for cats and dogs. It cures stomach problems including runny stool, vomiting and urinary tract infections common among house pets. It also curbs those pesky hair balls and unnecessary vomiting. It does wonders with their immune system and their respiratory system, and aids their digestive track. It's also good for urinary tract infections or prevents crystals from forming in the urine, and it gets rid of those brown tear stains. In fact, it helped my cat who was near death get back on track. I really love this stuff. Less is more so please don't give your cat more than a recommended dose of 1/4 tsp diluted in 8 ozs. of water. They trust you, so don't hurt them. My cat, Sasha, had been sick for 3 weeks straight before I stumbled on this information. It really, really works. I thank God for it because I'm not sure if my cat would have survived. He lost a lot of weight while he was sick. He weighs 20 pounds and it was noticeable. Now, he's gained 80 percent of his weight back and he's not sick anymore. He got sick because I changed to high quality cat food, but he was too old to adjust to the change, so I had to switch him back. He is happy as a little clam now. He's birthday is in December. He will be 15 years old -- that's a major milestone for any cat. Sasha has since gone on to heaven, but he was 17 years old when he passed, and he had a fabulous quality of life before he passed. So, I could be the poster child for this stuff. How I Cured My Dog's Bacterial Skin Infection

01:59
My golden retriever spends a lot of time in water, and as a result she sometimes gets bacterial skin infections on her belly. I at first tried all kinds of creams and sprays to get rid of it, and then I tried hydrogen peroxide and it worked like a charm. I spray the area several times a day and within three or four days it looks much better. I then continue to spray once a day or so until it is completely gone.

Who is an owner of Grewal Pet Shop and Farm, Main Road, Adampur. In this video, he tells about Cure Skin Infection in the Hindi Language. 1.A dog skin infection can either be bacterial or yeast related but both are easily treated. Yeast infections are very common in warmer weather so are often misdiagnosed as allergies. If your dog is bothered by itchy ears and paws, and is scooting across your floors, then you're likely dealing with yeast. 2. On the other hand, bacteria infections are often secondary infections to allergies as they frequently occur when your dog breaks the skin from lots of scratching. 3. And, of course, you need to know which one you're dealing with to get the right treatment plan. But when you do, both types are fairly easy to treat. 4. Here's how I can help. Take a few minutes to review the symptoms chart to get a clearer idea of what type of skin infection your dog may be suffering from. 5. Bacterial infections are frequently a secondary condition to allergies caused by the dog itching and constantly scratching. The more the dog scratches with allergies, the more chance there is of him breaking the skin, which can lead to a dog skin infection. 6. If you have a dog that loves to play in muddy puddles or just enjoys swimming, then you may be no stranger to skin infections. Dogs that spend a lot of time being damp and dirty are pretty good candidates for bacterial or fungal skin infections. 7. Have you noticed a rather pungent "yeasty" smell coming from your dog?.....Even after bathing her? If this is the case, then you are most likely dealing with a yeast (fungal) infection. 8. An important note here, even If your dog's skin infection seems to ONLY affect your her ears, you will still have to bathe with an antifungal shampoo. Otherwise, the problem usually comes right back as soon as the ear drops stop. Thanks for watching our video. Please like this video if you liked it. 5 Antibiotics Declared Safe At All Stages of Pregnancy.... ►►https://youtu.be/fCziSMPMjdM Once that plus sign appears on your pregnancy test, you know your body is in for a lot of changes. But what you probably didn't know is that those changes can mean more infections -- and more antibiotics. The most recent National Birth Defects Prevention Study of more than 13,000 pregnant women found that about 30 percent of women undergo at least one course of antibiotic treatment between the three months prior to conception and the end of their pregnancies, most commonly during the fourth month of pregnancy. Select antibiotic use has the potential to cause congenital abnormalities in newborns. So do you take the antibiotic and get better, or skip it and risk birth defects? Don't worry -- according to the study, it's not that black-and-white and there are safe options available. Here, we provide tips on keeping both you and your baby healthy.

Lyme Disease In Dogs, A Real Problem!

05:28
According to Doc Pawsitive, Lyme Disease is one of the most commonly diagnosed diseases last year at his veterinary office! A simple, very accurate and affordable blood test is available for Lyme testing in dogs, unlike in people. The test requires only 3-4 drops of blood and the results are available in under 10 minutes while you wait at his new PAWS Veterinary Clinic in northeast Pennsylvania. With this readily available test, Doc diagnosed over 1500 dogs with Lyme disease last year! Instead of waiting for dogs to develop the advanced symtoms of canine Lyme Disease(fever, lethargy, joint pain, difficulty walking, arthritis and even kidney failure), Dr Clair Thompson tests asymptomatic dogs, diagnoses the disease in the very treatable early stages and treats accordingly with inexpensive antibiotics such as doxycycline, amoxicillin and cephalexin for 30 days, then retests 12 months later; when the majority of dogs are Lyme-free! In addition to testing, Doc Pawsitive recommends ALL DOGS in northeast Pennsylvania start the very effective vaccine AGAINST Lyme disease as puppies, which requires 2 subcutaneous vaccinations 2-4 weeks apart to start with a yearly booster every year. In addition to testing and vaccinating, Doc advises the exclusive use of Vectra 3D for year-round flea and tick control. When started on the vaccine as puppies and with the year-round use of Vectra 3D, the new PAWS Veterinary Clinic is able to offer a LIFETIME LYME FREE GUARANTEE! Call our office at 570-588-1000 for details on the LIFETIME LYME FREE GUARANTEE or feel free to stop by the office 6 days a week, closed Sundays.

This is a glimpse into the journey taken to try and save 9 puppies with parvo. At home. All 10 of the puppies had 2 rounds of vaccinations prior to the virus. (1 puppy was adopted before outbreak) I was a volunteer with a Houston dog rescue group - AARF Houston. Always wanting to work with animals, this experience proved that it was my calling. I am now a student, studying to be a licensed vet tech; with many further goals ahead! Thank you for watching! -Britnee :)
