Diabetes Health and Wellness Institute Grand Opening - DiabetesDallas

04:48
The Diabetes Health and Wellness Institute at Juanita J. Craft Recreation Center in South Dallas opened its doors on June 7, 2010 with a grand opening celebration. This video gives you a taste of the grand opening festivities, including a farmer's market behind the facility, the ribbon cutting and speeches by Joel Allison, President and CEO of Baylor Health Care System, and Tom Leppert, the mayor of the City of Dallas. South Dallas residents are 30 percent more likely to be admitted to a hospital due to diabetes or a diabetes-related condition than other city residents. In fact by 2010, 13 percent of those living in South Dallas will be diabetic. To combat this diabetes epidemic, Baylor Health Care System is reaching out to the neighborhood, transforming the Juanita J. Craft Recreation center into the area's first and only diabetes health and wellness institute. Baylor has invested $15 million in the project with the mission of saving lives through improved diabetes care, education and research and hopes DHWI will serve as a new possible model for the diabetes-care nationwide.

When longtime Kelsey-Seybold patient Leallia King was diagnosed with diabetes, her doctor, Chief of Family Medicine Patrick Carter, M.D. helped her manage her treatment, resulting in favorable results in her care. Certification through the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), is achieved as the result of a comprehensive, individualized review process that verifies a physician's adherence to national standards of excellence in caring for patients diagnosed with diabetes. Of the more than 100 physicians in Texas who have earned NCQA certification, Kelsey-Seybold's 72 doctors represent the most for any health care provider in the state. I let another 2 mins go by before filming.. Now thank good was a messed up lead but what if it hadn't been? Once the doctor figured I was videoing he came right in,, After 36 hours in hospital with symptoms of chest pains relieved by nitro, dizziness, memory loss, low grade fever for 3 weeks, big drop in a history of high blood pressure down to low normal, low blood oxygen , continues head ache ,, high sugar (which happens after most heart attacks) smoker and family history of heart disease and diabetes,, drumm rolll they said he had acid reflux.. OOO but lets not forget the great lunch after his stress test of beef , mash potatoes and gravy. Dinner a piece salmon which is great but was breaded and then a big bake potato, roll, and angel food cake.. and that with a confirmed text of high sugar blood count..

Bio-Identical Hormones, Alternative Medicine, Internal Medicine - Jerome Block, MD

01:31
http://www.DocBlock.com, Dr. Jerome Block is not your average medical doctor. Dr. Block uses the best from traditional medicine, the best from holistic, alternative medicine to heal your body and give you total body health again. If you have been let down by medical doctors in the past, you need to try something different. Dr. Block's Internal and Integrated Medical Practice in Tulsa, OK is the place for you to have your health restored. He is the real life "House". Here's some words from his website on men's health, "Testosterone replacement is not exactly the same as T treatment that a physician may do for HIV, refractory anemia, or muscle wasting disease. Replacement is giving the very sub-stance of which the patient is deficient. The best replacement is with Bioidentical T. T has been used in human beings for over sixty years. The Nobel Prize for its discovery and characterization was awarded to a Swiss chemist, Leopold Ruzicka, and a German doctor, Adolf Butenandt, in 1939. T has been approved for treatment for over fifty years. Because of the possible abuse by athletes and others as "steroids," it is controlled almost as much as class A narcotic by the FDA. There are various ways to replace this hormone. Each has its advantage and disadvantage. The easiest way is with a prescription gel, either Androgel or Testim. These cost over $200 a month, although they are covered by many insurance drug programs. Testim has a fragrance that is adored by some women and abhorred by others. Much less expensive is T gel or cream from compounding pharmacies. The cost of this is between $28 and $55 a month. Despite the drug companies telling men to use the substance on their arms and the front part of their shoulders, I recommend that it be applied to the non-fatty part of the groin. In that way, the T is absorbed through the same blood vessels to which it was naturally transmitted from the testicle." Intrigued? You can listen to his weekly radio show every Sunday morning on 1170 talk radio or you can buy his latest book "Discover the Doctor Within" on Amazon.com at: http://www.amazon.com/Discover-Doctor-Within-Second-Opinion/dp/1427652619/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1321552160&sr=8-1 To read more on Dr. Block's website, visit http://www.DocBlock.com.
