10 Montessori Inspired Toddler Learning Activities

10:29
Using Dollar Tree and Hobby Lobby items I put together 10+ toddler learning activities inspired by Montessori practices. Making learning fun is what it's all about! What is Montessori? Montessori is a method of education that is based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative play. Montessori emphasizes learning through all five senses, not just through listening, watching, or reading. Children in Montessori classes learn at their own, individual pace and according to their own choice of activity. Learning is an exciting process of discovery, leading to concentration, motivation, self-discipline, and a love of learning. Lesson Planning For Daycares, Childcares, and Startups

07:36
Hey Girl!! So in this video I am slaying it! I am walking you behind the scenes to lesson planning like a BOSS! That's right! A Childcare Boss! It's time to get your plans together and make it work for your business model. My business model is built off of learning and ensuring that children have the very best a childcare business can offer. My childcare businesses are not "TextBook" and neither are a majority of my clients but I don't let that stop me. I keep moving forward with my vision for inner city children to learn and grow successfully! So if you want to have a business that produces greatness in others, you must first have a vision of greatness! The products that I use are: The Classroom Planner: My assistant suggested that everyone use a classroom planner inside their classrooms. I created it from a need to keep my staff operating on point while I was managing a different aspect of my childcare businesses. It can be found at www.TheStaffOrganizer.com The Staff Organizer/Quarterly Agenda- I use this as a base to plan my curriculum and teach my teachers how to use this tool to stay organized in their classrooms. I had no childcare experience, no formal business experience, I had never walked into a childcare business before nor did I have children of my own. But while in prayer, I asked God for his direction for my life and clearly I heard the word, ‘daycare.’ I immediately got started and moved confidently in the directions of my dreams. When I started my first childcare I struggled with enrollment, business management and staffing. I had no idea how to successfully grow my childcare business. Enrollment was dwindling in but not quite how I had envisioned. I was stuck with a building licensed for more than 200 children and I only had 60. I was the driving force of my business. I, literally worked in every position of my business - from the front desk receptionist, after- school bus driver, cook and occasionally I worked in the classroom as a substitute provider. I left work every day feeling overwhelmed and tired. The next day I’d start all over again – feeling overwhelmed. I needed relief. Weak in faith and without guidance, I made a decision to sell that location. After giving birth to my first born, my passion to care for children intensified. I realized it never left me so I began to pray again. This time I had no money, my credit score was low and there was no one to go to for help. I started with what I had and began babysitting for $10 per day. As my baby-sitting services began to grow, I applied and obtained the license for family. We continued to grow so I obtained the license for group, then we grew to two groups and on to a large center. I moved into two large facilities to care for over 160 children each day. All of this happened in less than five years. I had purpose, promise and passion but there was no payoff until I realized there was a better way to achieving childcare success. Through many years of hard work through trial and error, I finally found the formula to grow my childcare business. When I look at my wonderful life now, I realize it was determination and hard work that helped to build the childcare business of my dreams. My income grew successfully from $10 per day to $3000 per day in my childcare business. I created systems which make childcare easy. Today I am dedicated to sharing with others and want you to know – you too, can truly build a childcare business that generates wealth and happiness as you manage the childcare business you love!

Teacher Sam English Camp Games. Days of the week, Activities. ESL games and lesson plans.

02:00
Join this Facebook group: ฝรั่งสอนภาษาอังกฤษให้คนไทย Farang teaches English to Thai people https://www.facebook.com/groups/FarangSamEnglish/ Teacher Sam's English Camp Games เกมส์ภาษาอังกฤษของครูแซมที่ค่ายภาษาอังกฤษ. Today's topic is "Days of the week" (Class of 19 students). หัวข้อของวันนี้คือ "วันของสัปดาห์" Kids love to race each other. In this game they practice speaking about activities and practice listening for days of the week. 1. Split the class into two teams. Give 7 students from each team a coloured ball. Each colour means a day of the week. Yellow = Monday, Pink = Tuesday, Green = Wednesday, Orange = Thursday Blue = Friday, Purple = Saturday, Red = Sunday. 2. The teacher asks one student "What day do you (say any activity)?" e.g. "What day do you go swimming?" 3. All students with balls must listen carefully. The student says any day at random. e.g. "Monday" 4. One student from each team with a yellow ball (for Monday) must quickly run around the circle in a clockwise direction until they get back to their chair. 5. First student back to their chair gets 1 point. 6. The winning teams is the one with the most points after a set time or first to 10 points wins. 7. After a student has run around they should give their ball to a student that doesn't have a ball, so that they can take part in the game. Game 2 1. Write on the board, the days of the week with activities next to them e.g Monday - Swimming, Tuesday - Fishing, Wednesday - English class.... 2. The teacher say "Today I am (choose an activity from the board)" e.g. "Today I am going fishing" 3. Student must quickly check on the board, what day do I go "fishing". In this case Tuesday. So one student from each team with pink balls (for Tuesday) runs around the circle and the first student back to their chair gets 1 point. ***Alternatively instead of running, students could throw the ball into a basket in the middle of the circle. They can throw the ball as many times as they need but must always throw from their chair. First student to get the ball in the basket gets 1 point. You need a clear and structured lesson plan, you need to be a leader and you need to show a big warm smile. Use body language too and you will succeed. Children love to be surprised, entertained, they love physical activities and once you do all of it, you can introduce and drill any language you like, even comparatives.

Totschooling/Toddler Learning Lesson Plan (Jan - Feb 2018)

04:17
Jan 28 - Feb 28, 2018 Every month I put together a lesson plan by dividing activities, books, and concepts to be learned. The month will always consist of 5 - 6 concepts (one concept is practiced per day) that are rotated weekly throughout the month. Schooling is done either early morning before work or in the evening after work. If I am tired before or after work, we do it on the weekends.. But I at least read and do an easy activity with her for a few minutes a few times a week even on my most tired or busy days. Our daily learning and activities (excluding reading time, online learning, and videos) take about 20 mins to complete in totality. Here is her schedule (for age 17 months - 2 y/o): Mon - Th: 20 mins once per day. Then she plays, enjoys ABC mouse/learning videos Fri - Sun: 15 - 20 mins twice per day. Then she plays, enjoys ABC mouse/learning videos ***Daily Circle Time (5 minutes) - Alphabet Phonetic Sounds, Numbers 1 - 10, Weather, Date, Name Recognition, Foreign Language (Haitian Creole)*** Focus of the Day (15 minutes): Mondays - Colors Tuesdays - Sensory, Hand Eye Coordination, Dexterity, Concentration, Fine Motor Skills Wednesdays - Sorting, Matching, Puzzles, Logic Thursdays - Shapes Fridays & Saturdays - Writing/Tracing, Letter of the Week, Notebooking/Lapbooking, Logic, Math Sundays - Self Care, Household Contributions, Body Parts, Manners/Behavior, Spirituality, Life Skills We end the day with a story, which takes place either after dinner or before bath/bed time. We also use ABCmouse (30 mins) and LeapFrog (30 minutes) throughout the day and/or evening to reinforce the focus of the day and letters/numbers if she feels like it. Check out my Letter of the Week Series for more information below. It may be paused/on hold if I find that she doesn't enjoy it or the process becomes too difficult since she is under age 2. https://youtu.be/EqrflaUxves Sending XO's Your Way - Cherline

Teaching English to Kids in 5 Fun Steps

04:01
Need help? You can start learning a whole lot more about how to teach English to kids with ESLinsider's advanced course. The advanced course goes into detail especially in regards to classroom management which is often a challenge when you teach kids. It also offers feedback, support and interaction with a real human which is not common in many of the cheaper courses. About the video: These are 5 fun steps to teaching kids English. In this video you'll see a method for teaching kids English using the "PPP" (Presentation, Practice and Production) style of lesson planning. You will learn how to teach English to children and much of this method can also be applied to teaching other levels too. Such as adults. But the "PPP" style is best for low level learners. Also in this video you will learn some fun games and activities that you can add to your lesson. These will make your lessons more fun and more effective if used correctly. How to Teach the Alphabet | Reading Lessons

02:46
Watch more How to Teach Your Child to Read videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/460479-How-to-Teach-the-Alphabet-Reading-Lessons Hi. my name is Anne Glass. I'm a reading and learning specialist at a private school in New York City and I work with Kindergarteners through 3rd graders on Reading, Word Study, and Writing Skills. In addition to be a reading specialist and learning specialist, I'm also a parent and today I'm going to talk to you about topics in reading Being able to name the letters in the alphabet is one of the critical predictors of reading success. There are several different activities that you can use to teach your child the alphabet. Most people like to start teaching using the alphabet song which is a completely acceptable way to start. In fact, most children in this country know that song; could sing it in their sleep, probably. That is a perfectly fine way to start as long as you move quickly away from singing the alphabet to saying it. Because if your child can say the alphabet without relying on a melody then you can be certain that he knows it for sure. I always like to use visual aids and I think that any teaching, when it can be multisensory, is going to be much more effective. If you can have your child say the alphabet, each letter at a time while pointing to it, they're getting that tactile feedback and also the auditory feedback from pronouncing the letter name, looking at the letter and touching it with his finger. Another really helpful manipulative are these 3D letters. These are mine and they're just regular block letters that you can do out of order or move around. So they can be easily manipulated. And again it's a letter identification task. Another great teaching tool I like to use is this alphabet mat. It's got the alphabet in block letters across the top as both a reminder and also a point and say task. And then you can also go back to your 3-dimensional letters and, as a separate or additional activity, put the letters in sequence going around the arc. So up here is my "M", I place the "M" on the "M". "A" and then "B" going all the way around. Knowledge of the sequence of the alphabet is also going to be really helpful to your child going forward. Simple flash cards are also a great tool. These are my upper-case flash cards and you just go one by one and ask your child to name the letter as you go through. For more advanced alphabet learners, this is called a missing letter deck. You are prompting the child with two letters to give you the third one that's missing. So in this case it's "D", "E" and your child will say "F". Go on to the next one: "F", "G"... "H". And so on. Again, knowledge of letter names is one of the most important predictors of how quickly and easily your child will acquire early reading skills. And it's important that letter names be taught explicitly and directly, starting in preschool.

Fraction kits have been around for a while and many effective math teachers use them to help their students gain a stronger grasp of fractions. This video demonstrates my approach to creating a fraction kit and was designed to serve as a follow-along activity. Unlike our animated math lessons, this VLOG will walk you through a hands on, real world math activity that explores fractions, equivalent fractions, comparing fractions, number sense, and even as a decimals introduction activity later on. This fun math activity is perfect for homeschool, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, 6th grade, and middle school and even high school as well. Live English Class | Complete Lesson | Teaching 3 and 4 Year Old Children | ESL | EFL

14:15
Hello Everyone! In this video, I am teaching a kindergarten class of about 25 students. This is a live, unedited, English class for 3 and 4 year old Japanese children. I meet with these students about 3 times a month. In this English class, we are learning: A greetings song (I'm good, great, wonderful, hungry, tired, not so good). What's your name song. The alphabet song. Clothing and Colors. Numbers song (1-10). Clothing pattern: A skirt. It's a skirt. The songs I'm using here are from: Dream English: https://www.youtube.com/user/DreamEnglishKids Super Simple Songs: https://www.youtube.com/user/SuperSimpleSongs My videos are vocabulary-based for conversation practice. Each video is themed to provide context for learning. To insure success, every video is designed with open slots for vocabulary substitution practice. These patterns allow students to practice on their own and teachers can have their class practice together as a group. These videos also work great for icebreakers and class discussions. Genki English: EFL / ESL Lesson Plan How to Teach English!

06:53
More details at; http://www.genkienglish.net/lessonplan.htm Teaching Materials at http://genkienglish.net/cdset.htm How to Teach English: 45 Minute Lesson Plan 1. Warm Up/Review - 3/10 minutes The idea is to get the kids back into a "Genki" way of learning, to get used to you again, to warm them up and to review the previous time's language. Start off with a quick go of the Warm Up game. Time depends on the class, from 30 seconds to 5 minutes. If they already know them, try a quick go of the lines game or the hammer game. Review the song from the previous lesson. They are singing and dancing and remembering the previous work all at the same time. The songs are quick, genki and get to the point! 2. New material - Picture cards and Song - 15/20 minutes New vocab A capella CD Using the Genki English songs to make it easy to introduce the new language, and for the kids to remember it. Use picture cards. Put upone, say the word and get the kids to say it back. Review often! After every 3 or 4 words, review the others. 8 words is a good quantity to teach in one lesson. Questions and answers are better (e.g. What's this? What time is it? or How much?) Say the question, point to a card and the kids answer. This is better than simply learning the vocab in isolation. Try tricking them by pointing to a card and saying a different question e.g. "What's your name?" To save time, try singing each word when introducing it. The melody and actions help the kids remember them more quickly. Plus when you've finished the words, they already know the song. Teach the song "a capella" several times without the music. Keep practising till they know all the words! If they don't say things loud, do a competition between you and them to see who can say the word the loudest. Even the shy kids will be then saying the words! Sing the song with the CD to make sure they know the vocab and have some fun! Keeping the CD till the end makes sure the kids know the words and keeps the energy high. 3. Practice of new material - Game - 15/20 minutes The purpose of the game is for the kids to practise the target English. It's also good for the teacher to see if the kids have mastered the language or if they need more practice. Only the second language is allowed for the kids, but the teacher should explain things in whichever language is most efficient. The less time you spend explaining, the more time the kids have to practise. Best done with games to aid motivation. Most of the games on this site can be used for almost any vocab. Try the Random Game button for some inspiration! Explain the games by acting them out! All the games on the site can be explained in 2 or 3 minutes or less. If team teaching, try giving a translation of the game to the other teacher who can then explain the rules in the kids' native language. If there is no end to the game - do a big countdown! Important Point: Remember to teach your kids that "Losing doesn't mean losing. It simply means you get another chance to try again" If everyone is having fun, everyone wins! If they don't win, it's simply another chance to try again next time. Do this and every kid will be wanting to keep going and learn more, especially if they actually lose a game! 4. "Thank you"s and "Goodbye"s Sing today's song again and then the Thank You song (from CD1) to finish. Tell them how good they were Do a few claps and cheers (try raising your hand to vary their volume like we do in the shows, very fun!) End the lesson on a high so they are looking forward to the next lesson!! More details at; http://www.genkienglish.net/lessonplan.htm Teaching Materials at http://genkienglish.net/cdset.htm

Warm-Up Activities - "Teacher Says"

01:14
http://www.course.eslinsider.com Get certified to teach English to kids with this online TEFL course: This is a fun warm-up activity for teaching very young children. It would probably work for some up until age 10. It works best for the very young and low level students. It's good for teaching body parts and commands. "Teacher Says" is a super fun activity to do with young kids. It works especially well with Kindergarteners to about 3rd grade. When their level gets to high it becomes boring since the kids can follow along and understand. Kids love this game and it's a way also to practice commands, body parts and basic classroom exercises. This video was filmed in a kindergarten in Sapadong, Korea. _____________________________________________________ ESLinsider serves up fresh resources for ESL teachers: how-to videos, online TEFL courses, interviews with ESL teachers in Asia, ebooks and a blog.
