My gorgeous Twin sisters journey with Ovarian Cancer. Don't judge a book by its cover, she started of a princess, then the chemo gradually turned her into to princess fiona then shrek, but she is bouncing back .....Cancer strips all the fluff in life, and gets to the real important things. But the biggest thing we have learnt on this journey is what's on the inside that counts the rest is all fluff.....and in the end all you have is what's inside ...... You have got to have FAITH !

Talcum powder blamed for ovarian cancer; Ted Meadows talks to CBS News about Ristesund vedict

03:06
Beasley Allen lawyer Ted Meadows talked to CBS News about the recent $55 million jury verdict against Johnson & Johnson. Meadows has helped lead litigation against J&J alleging its talcum powder products increase the risk for ovarian cancer. In February, a City of St. Louis Circuit Court jury agreed that the company failed to warn consumers about this risk, and awarded the family of Plaintiff Jacqueline Fox $72 million following her death from ovarian cancer. The verdict included $10 million in actual damages and $62 million in punitive damages - $1 million for each year of Ms. Fox’s life, the jury in that case said. The most recent verdict, issued by another City of St. Louis Circuit Court jury on May 2, awarded Plaintiff Gloria Ristesund $55 million after they found the talc products were liable for causing her ovarian cancer. The verdict included $5 million in actual damages and $50 million in punitive damages. Meadows noted that punitive damages are intended to punish companies for wrongdoing, and to spur them to take corrective action. In these cases, Meadows said, Plaintiffs simply want the company to add a warning label to its talc-containing products warning of the ovarian cancer risk.

Karen Burger Nevins Friends & Family Memorial Tribute

12:43
Nevins, Karen Lynn Karen Lynn Nevins (nee Burger) was born July 8, 1969 and died Sunday, October 8, 2017, surrounded by family and friends in her home. She is survived by Pete, her husband of 15 years, two daughters, Adeline and Mae, siblings Tony (Dona) Burger, Mark (Stacy) Burger and Donna (Dave) Hughes, over 20 nieces and nephews, a large extended family and tremendous family of friends. She is the daughter of the late Al and Pat Burger. Karen loved hiking, camping and a good road trip. She once travelled across the country to work for a summer in Alaska. She had the ability to strike up a conversation and instantly become friends with anyone she met, loved spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed a deep, heartfelt conversation as much as laughing so hard her sides hurt. She was kind, loving, compassionate and empathetic. The mother of two beautiful girls, she raised them to be loving, strong, confident young women. She enjoyed watching the girls play sports, reading books with them and loved listening to stories about their day. Her nieces and nephews remember her as a favorite aunt who specialized in niece sleepovers, burned pizza and dessert before dinner. Karen was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2008. She fought with everything she had for almost 10 years, always with a smile that lit up the room, a positive attitude and words of encouragement for others, setting the standard for the rest of us to follow. She volunteered for St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness, talking to medical students about her experience in the Survivors Teaching Students: Saving Women's Lives program, and was the featured speaker at the annual SLOCA Gala in 2010. She always managed to put her family above all else. She will be sorely missed by everyone. Her final selfless act was to donate her body to St. Louis University in the hope that she could further cancer research or aid in the development of tomorrow's doctors. Karen had requested donations be made to St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness, the Cancer Support Community of Greater St. Louis, Bridget's Brigade, or any other organization close to your heart.

At the beginning of the clip, the ball comes bouncing into the screen and then you see Nick Stavinoha #34 walking to her with the ball. This is a B-day present for a milestone birthday and was from an auction to benefit St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness (SLOCA)
