10 Signs And Symptoms Of Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)

04:02
Hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, is defined as high pressure in the arteries, that are the vessels which carry blood from the heart to the body. It’s easy to tell whether an adult has high blood pressure because there’s a standard set of measurements: Normal blood pressure—systolic under 120 mmHg and diastolic under 80 mm Hg; Pre-hypertension—systolic 120-139 mmHg or diastolic 80-89 mmHg; Stage 1 hypertension—systolic 140-159 mmHg or diastolic 90-99 mmHg; Stage 2 hypertension—systolic ≥160 or diastolic ≥100 mmHg. Approximately 86 million adults (about 1 out of every 3) in the United States have hypertension. Many factors can affect blood pressure, including - smoking, leading a sedentary lifestyle, a diet with a high salt intake, being overweight or obese, long-term sleep deprivation, a diet focused on meat, dairy products, and eggs, high LDL cholesterol, alcohol abuse or chronic alcohol use, or a family history of high blood pressure. If high blood pressure remains untreated, it can cause kidney failure, heart disease, and increases the risk of stroke. High blood pressure commonly has no symptoms and is often labeled "the silent killer." However, a few people with high blood pressure may experience: #1 Vision problems - hypertension can damage the vessels supplying blood to your retina, causing retinopathy. This serious condition can lead to blurred vision, bleeding in the eye, and complete loss of vision. #2 Nausea - a sensation of unease and discomfort in the stomach with an urge to vomit. #3 Headaches - some individuals with hypertension may experience headaches, but they usually don't occur unless the pressure is notably raised. #4 Erectile Dysfunction - the inability to have and maintain an erection becomes increasingly common in men as they reach age 50. But high blood pressure damages the lining of blood vessels and causes atherosclerosis, limiting blood flow to the penis. #5 Kidney Damage - a high blood pressure can cause damage to the filters and blood vessels in the kidney, making removal of waste from the body difficult. #6 Fatigue - feeling tired all the time and experiencing difficulty with everyday activities, such as climbing stairs, shopping, walking, or carrying groceries. #7 Mental function can also change as a result of hypertension with many experiencing difficulties finding words, memory loss, and an inability to focus. #8 Heart palpitations - to "make up for" the loss in pumping capacity, the heart beats faster. #9 Chest pain which may radiate to the back, arms, neck or jaw. #10 Ringing in the ear - considering the immense amounts of blood flowing in and out of the head and this area, it is no surprise that hypertension can affect one’s hearing. Note - According to various studies, foods or beverages that may help reduce hypertension include - whole grains, legumes, flax seeds, beets, dark green leafy vegetables, sweet potatoes, potatoes, hibiscus tea, and foods high in potassium (such as pistachios, bananas, raisins, almonds, dates). Check out our new website http://www.rehealthify.com/ Rehealthify offers reliable, up-to-date health information, anytime, anywhere, for free. Allergy (also called: Hypertension) -- video script below -- Blood pressure is the force of your blood pushing against the walls of your arteries. Each time your heart beats, it pumps blood into the arteries. Your blood pressure is highest when your heart beats, pumping the blood. This is called systolic pressure. When your heart is at rest, between beats, your blood pressure falls. This is called diastolic pressure. Your blood pressure reading uses these two numbers. Usually the systolic number comes before or above the diastolic number. A reading of 119/79 or lower is normal blood pressure 140/90 or higher is high blood pressure Between 120 and 139 for the top number, or between 80 and 89 for the bottom number is called prehypertension. Prehypertension means you may end up with high blood pressure, unless you take steps to prevent it. High blood pressure usually has no symptoms, but it can cause serious problems such as stroke, heart failure, heart attack and kidney failure. You can control high blood pressure through healthy lifestyle habits and taking medicines, if needed. NIH: National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute

► TOP 10 Causes Of High Blood Pressure

07:22
How I lowered my dad's blood pressure, without drugs or diets ►►http://drsam.co/yt/SeeItYourself ======================================= Top 10 Causes Of High Blood Pressure ======================================= 1. AGE Most people don’t realize that AGE is one of the BIGGEST factors for high blood pressure. I discuss this in my very important article, but what’s important to note is that after the age of 40, 33% of the population has high blood pressure and after the age of 60, over 71% of the population has hypertension! So, if you’re over the age of 40 and have high blood pressure, it may not be your fault. But it IS your responsibility to fix it right away and here is how I lowered my dad’s blood pressure naturally, in just 30 days. 2. GENETICS & FAMILY HISTORY Well, not much can be done here. This is in fact my own problem because I have a family history (on my dad’s side) of hypertension, heart attacks and especially strokes. You can read more about it, include my personal favorite solution that my dad, my family and I use to promote healthy blood pressure levels, naturally! 3. SMOKING Come on people, smoking has NO health benefits. STOP smoking! 4. ALCOHOL A little bit of alcohol is okay, especially if it’s organic red wine. But drinking every night will cause damage to your heart, arteries and liver. Alcohol is a toxic and it’s acidic, both being bad for your body. 5. BEING OVERWEIGHT Similar to smoking, being overweight has no health benefits. And the older you get, the harder it is to lose that unwanted fat. 6. SODIUM Salt has its benefits actually. Regular table salt or salt found in processed foods and packages is BAD for you. However, “natural” salts such as Himalayan rock or Celtic sea salt is GOOD for you and can actually help LOWER blood pressure. I’ll discuss this in a future article. 7. STRESS Well know stress is bad. However, you can’t get rid of it. What’s important is the MEANING you give to stressful situations. If you freak out, get negative and focus on the problem the entire time … you put your body under extra stress. The secret is to focus on the SOLUTION and to know that “this too shall pass” and worrying about the problem isn’t going to help anything… Especially our blood pressure or heart. 8. LACK OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY We sit too much these days. Just get outside and walk daily, even if it’s just for 15-20 minutes. It’ll do wonders for your physical AND mental health! 9. MEDICAL CONDITIONS This goes back to “genetics”. And if you know you have a genetic “problem”, which is making things worse, then you MUST make changes to your life-style because your body is more sensitive than the average person. This is a similar problem with my dad and why he had a stroke. 10. MEDICATION Ironically, many “heart” medications actually cause more heart PROBLEMS in the long run. They can increase your cholesterol, blood sugar or blood pressure levels. They can decrease blood flow and circulation. And they all cause extra stress on your liver and kidneys, which then cause more problems for your heart. What Happens When Your Blood Pressure Is Low - Signs and Symptoms Of Low Blood Pressure

Blood pressure is generated by the heart that pumps blood into the arteries and is regulated by the arteries' response to blood flow. Blood pressure is one of the vital signs of the body. It refers to the force that blood applies to the walls of blood vessels during contraction and relaxation of the heart muscle. Blood pressure measures the pressure in the arteries, the vessels that carry blood away from the heart. The ability of arteries to respond to blood flow determines blood pressure. What is low blood pressure? Low blood pressure is a difficult clinical finding to address for a health professional. While high blood pressure is known as the "silent killer", since it is associated with few acute symptoms, hypotension (hypo = low + tension = pressure) may be normal for a patient if it does not have symptoms but may be great importance if it is associated with abnormal body function. Sometimes, the low is good, a goal that must be achieved to keep blood pressure under control. Sometimes, the low is bad because there is not enough pressure to provide blood flow to the organs of the body. Blood pressure ratio The blood pressure readings have two parts and are expressed as a ratio: "Normal" blood pressure for example, it is 120/80 (120 over 80) and measures the pressure inside the arteries of the body. Systolic pressure, the upper number, measures the pressure inside the arteries when the heart contracts (systole) to pump blood to the body. Diastolic pressure the lowest number measures the resting pressures inside the arteries when the heart is at rest. Medical conditions that can cause low blood pressure include: The pregnancy. Because the circulatory system expands rapidly during pregnancy, blood pressure is likely to decrease. This is normal, and blood pressure usually returns to its pre-pregnancy level after giving birth. Heart problems. Some heart conditions that can cause low blood pressure include an extremely low heart rate (bradycardia), heart valve problems, myocardial infarction, and heart failure. Dehydration. When your body loses more water than it absorbs, it can cause weakness, dizziness, and fatigue. Fever, vomiting, severe diarrhea, excessive use of diuretics and strenuous exercise can lead to dehydration. Loss of blood. Losing a lot of blood, such as from a major injury or internal bleeding, reduces the amount of blood in your body, which causes a serious decrease in blood pressure. Severe infection (septicemia). When an infection in the body enters the bloodstream, it can lead to a life-threatening drop in blood pressure called septic shock. Severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis). Common triggers of this serious and life-threatening reaction include food, certain medications, insect poisons and latex. Anaphylaxis can cause respiratory problems, hives, itching, swelling of the throat and a dangerous drop in blood pressure. The lack of nutrients in your diet. The lack of vitamins B-12 and folic acid can prevent your body from producing enough red blood cells (anemia), causing low blood pressure.

What Causes Hypertension [2018] High Blood Pressure Symptoms

13:20
What Causes Hypertension? I'm Dr. Frita. Did you know that high blood pressure is a leading cause of heart disease and heart failure, and the number two cause of kidney failure? __________ Subscribe so you’ll never miss my latest videos. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBve_ppCNE67fs3MsIocitg?sub_confirmation=1 Be sure to follow me on: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dr.frita/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Dr.Frita Twitter: https://twitter.com/DrFrita __________ Do you know why they call hypertension the silent killer? Blood pressure. Don't let it get high off your own supply. Today, I will give a general overview of hypertension or high blood pressure. I will discuss the definition of hypertension, which actually just changed in 2017 based on the recommendations of the American College of Cardiologist and the American Heart Association. I will also talk about the consequences of poorly controlled blood pressure. And I will talk about how to prevent hypertension by not letting your blood pressure get high off your own supply. Don't let it get high off your own supply. So what is hypertension or high blood pressure? Hypertension or high blood pressure is when you have an elevated pressure in the blood vessels. We measure blood pressure with two numbers. There is that top number, or the systolic blood pressure and the bottom number, or the diastolic blood pressure. The systolic blood pressure, that top number, measures the pressure in your blood vessels while the heart is contracting or squeezing. That bottom number, the diastolic blood pressure measures the pressure within your blood vessels while the heart is relaxed. Normal blood pressure is when the systolic blood pressure is less than 120, and when the diastolic blood pressure is less than 80. You have elevated blood pressure when the systolic blood pressure is between 120 and 129, and when the diastolic blood pressure is still less than 80. So yes, with the new definitions you have elevated blood pressure when your systolic blood pressure, that top number, is between 120 and 129. So now, what is the definition of hypertension? It's when the systolic blood pressure is 130 or greater, and when the diastolic blood pressure is 90 or greater. What are the consequences of poorly controlled blood pressure? Well, heart disease, heart failure, stroke. And again, poorly controlled hypertension can lead to kidney failure. Hypertension is the second most common cause of kidney failure in the United States. What are the symptoms of hypertension? Well sure, you can get headaches. Some people will even get shortness of breath. There are different symptoms that you can get with severe high blood pressure. But the most common symptom of hypertension is nothing. So you could be walking around here with dangerously elevated blood pressures with no symptoms whatsoever, and that's why they call hypertension the silent killer. What can you do to prevent high blood pressure? Well, you can prevent it by not letting your blood pressure get high off your own supply. Don't let your blood pressure get high off your own supply. What is your own supply? Your own supply refers to the foods and the habits you have, which may be putting you at risk for hypertension. For example, if you sat down at the breakfast table and had five slices of bacon this morning, and then you checked your blood pressure and found out that it was elevated. Well, your blood pressure might be high off your own supply of bacon. What are some other things you may be supplying to your blood pressure to make it high? Number one, salt, or sodium. Don't let your blood pressure get high off your own supply of salt. Now when I ask most of my patients if they have a low salt diet, they immediately respond, "Oh yes, Dr. Frita. I never add salt to my food. I don't even pick up the salt shaker. And they're usually very proud of themselves. But once I delve a little deeper into their diet history I find that most of them have high sodium diets. So now I've given you a general overview of hypertension. We talked about the definition of hypertension. What causes Hypertension. When that top number is 130 or greater, or when that bottom number is 90 or greater. We talked about the consequences of hypertension, heart disease, stroke, kidney failure. We also talked about the most common high blood pressure symptoms. Nothing. We talked about how to prevent high blood pressure by not letting your blood pressure get high off your own supply. I want you to please comment down below. Please like my video. Share my video. And let me know whatever else you want me to discuss. I love hearing from you. Remember, prioritize yourself. Go to your doctor. Find out if you have high blood pressure, or if you're at risk. Strive to be a healthier, happier you. I'm Dr. Frita.

What REALLY Causes High Blood Pressure (Hypertension)?

Give Dr. Berg a Review: http://bit.ly/DrBergReviewGoogle VIDEOS ON INSULIN RESISTANCE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxl8h... Dr. Berg talks about the link between high blood pressure and insulin resistance. Insulin resistances, which is high insulin stiffens your arteries, disrupts the endothelial layer of your arteries, which start the hardening of the arteries as well as the cascade effect of cholesterol and calcium to accumulate in the arteries. High insulin (insulin resistance) creates inflammation in the arteries. This condition also causes sodium retention and a loss of potassium because insulin is necessary to allow this mineral in the cell. Diuretics also have a side-effect of causing insulin resistance. The treatment of hypertension is mainly medications because we are told that there is no cure, only treatment. The pathophysiology is in reality a disruption of the artery wall creating vasoconstriction, stiffness and less elasticity. The additional symptom of hypertension is headaches and a risk for stroke and heart attack. The home remedies involve actions to lower insulin - cutting out sugar, adding vegetables to get your potassium and even apple cider vinegar can help. ♥ The Scary Truth About High Blood Pressure Symptoms

Discover the REAL CAUSE of High Blood Pressure & 5 Best Foods for Lowering It Naturally: ►►http://drsam.co/yt/LowerHBPToday ======================================= The Scary Truth About High Blood Pressure Symptoms ======================================= (1) http://www.webmd.com/news/20110420/the-10-most-prescribed-drugs (2) http://www.heart.org/HEARTORG/Conditions/HighBloodPressure/PreventionTreatmentofHighBloodPressure/Types-of-Blood-Pressure-Medications_UCM_303247_Article.jsp Today’s question is from Rose and she asks: “How do you I know if I have high blood pressure?... I think lately I’ve had it because I’ve been having headaches. How can I lower my BP naturally?” So here’s the truth -- unless you take your blood pressure readings multiple times a day for a few days in a row, it’s almost IMPOSSIBLE to know if you have chronic high blood pressure. This is because there is NO list of symptoms or “signs” of high blood pressure (HBP or Hypertension).... And THIS is the scary part. It’s a MYTH that people with high blood pressure will experience symptoms, like nervousness, sweating, headaches, nosebleeds or facial flushing. The scary fact is that high blood pressure is a symptomless “silent killer.” If you ignore your blood pressure because you think a certain symptom or sign will alert you to the problem, you are taking a dangerous chance with your life. This is a VERY important topic for me because I have a family history of high blood pressure. What’s really scared me personally at an early age is that my grandfather died immediately with his FIRST and ONLY stroke. My uncle was handicapped and paralyzed for the rest of his life, with his FIRST and ONLY stroke. Thus – NO warnings. NO second chances. NO opportunity to make changes or improvements. And this is why high blood pressure is known as the “silent killer”. Unfortunately, having “high blood pressure” has become a “silent” epidemic. Did you know that: 1/3 (35%) of adults over the age of 20, has high blood pressure?... Yet, 72% aren’t even aware that they have hypertension If you’re over the age of 50, man or woman… over 57% of the population has high blood pressure! And if you’re over 60 years old, it’s a shocking 67% And it only gets worse… About 77% of people who have their first heart attack, have high blood pressure. About 84% of people having strokes, have high blood pressure. The fact is that high blood pressure is a major cause of a heart attack and stroke. And in my opinion, more important than cholesterol levels. This is why blood pressure drugs are the #2 most prescribed1 drugs in America And get this, there 11 different TYPES2 of “blood pressure lowering” drugs. And a total of over 75 different medications! And YET – this problem is getting worse each and every year mainly because the drugs just aren’t working. Anyway, I mention all of this not to be a “downer” or to “ruin your day”. But to emphasize the importance of making sure you have healthy blood pressure levels and not look for symptoms because there aren’t any reliable ones. Because the statistics show that most of us have elevated blood pressure. So you and I need to make improvements in our life-style. I don’t want you to be another statistic, like my own grandfather, uncle and even my dad. Forget about taking drugs - they don’t work and it’s not a good or safe long-term solution. Natural remedies exist… it’s what I personally use myself, as well as my family. Below I have a great video about this topic, where I reveal the real cause of high blood pressure, as well as the 5 best foods for lowering your blood pressure, naturally. So please don’t feel like “hopeless”. Simple, effective, proven and safe solutions DO exist! Signs of High Blood Pressure

http://bit.ly/bloodPressureNow Signs of High Blood Pressure Blurry vision, trouble breathing, nausea, and disorientation are all serious signs of high blood pressure—especially when experienced together. Generally, such signs don't manifest themselves until someone reaches critical blood pressure levels that require immediate medical attention. If unattended, severe levels of blood pressure can result in life-threatening episodes, such as seizures, aneurysms, and heart attacks. High blood pressure can also cause metabolism to fluctuate, resulting in weight gain and an increased risk of diabetes, strokes, and heart problems. Very high blood pressures can also cause permanent damage to one's vision. The signs of high blood pressure, or hypertension, are often so subtle as to appear nonexistent. When they do manifest, the most conspicuous signs of high blood pressure are dizziness, blurry vision, breathing problems, and a pounding pulse. Less clear symptoms include headaches, nose bleeds, and nausea. Most individuals with early-stage hypertension don't experience noticeable or worrisome symptoms, although some do. Potentially life-threatening levels of high blood pressure typically are reflected in one or more of the aforementioned symptoms. Individuals who don't yet experience constant, severe blood pressure levels may not realize their condition, due to subtle or nonexistent symptoms. What symptoms do manifest may be difficult to interpret as signs of high blood pressure. Such individuals may experience an increase in headaches, for example, or have more nose bleeds. Occasionally, they may experience a faster heart rate that results in the sensation of a pounding in the chest, neck, and head. They may also experience irregular heartbeats. Such symptoms are likely to continue to manifest if high levels of blood pressure become more severe. Due to the fact that signs of high blood pressure are notoriously difficult to detect, it's important that adults be vigilant about having their blood pressure checked at least once every couple of years. Many cases of high blood pressure—cases that would otherwise go undetected—are discovered during a routine doctor's visit. Without routinely checking one's blood pressure, hypertension problems might not become apparent until they reach severe levels. If for some reason a visit to a doctor is problematic, many grocery stores feature stations where individuals can check their blood pressure for free or for a nominal fee. These stations are able to give a general idea of one's blood pressure, but their readings aren't nearly as accurate as at a doctor's office. Certain demographics should be extra vigilant about detecting signs of high blood pressure. Blood pressure is affected by age, which means that as individuals get older, they should accordingly take more measures to regulate and monitor blood pressure. Blood pressure is also affected by being overweight, and stress also can cause blood pressure to rise. Diets insufficient in potassium and vitamin D, and diets too rich in sodium are known to elevate blood pressure as well. Individuals who smoke tobacco or drink alcohol also should be aware that such substances can adversely affect blood pressure. Pregnant women also are at an increased risk for hypertension, which can lead to preeclampsia, a possibly deadly condition. Lastly, anyone whose family has a history of complications with blood pressure should be extra vigilant about watching out for their own increased risk of developing hypertension http://bit.ly/bloodPressureNow Signs of High Blood Pressure https://youtu.be/s95FX_mGOlc

The dangers of low blood pressure

06:49
Most people worry about high blood pressure, and with good reason as it portends numerous health risks, such as the possibility of an increased risk of heart attacks and strokes. But… Low blood pressure brings a different set of problems, such as reduced brain function and increased mortality risk. If the upper or lower number deviates by more than 10 from 120/80, it pays to be aware low blood pressure may be affecting your health. Think of it like this. The function of your blood pressure is to push the blood out of your blood vessels by permeating out of them to the rest of the body. High blood pressure is often a compensatory response to something that is going on in the body. If you cover up the end response of your body you can get other symptoms. Such as, a very common side effect of blood pressure medications is brain fog or mental “unclarity”. Which really makes perfect sense. Your brain is now not getting the blood (or oxygen) it needs to function, which equals……uhhhhhhhh? What? As a side note I often find that in the elderly, if they have not taken care of themselves and their arteries are already starting to harden, this will lead to decreased permeability of the blood vessels. As a result, blood pressure goes up to compensate and get blood to the brain. If you lower blood pressure too much, you no think too much! ;-) Blood pressure pushes blood through about 100,000 miles of veins, arteries, and capillaries in the body, carrying oxygen, nutrients, immune cells, hormones, neurotransmitters, and other vital compounds. High blood pressure strains blood vessels. However, low blood pressure means not enough blood is getting to capillaries and tissues, particularly in your hands, feet, and brain. This deprives those tissues of sufficient oxygen and nutrients. You may have chronic nail fungal infections and cold hands and feet if so. These can also be signs of an immune system that is deficient as well. So it pays to check both. Adrenal fatigue as a cause of low blood pressure The most common cause of low blood pressure (other than taking blood pressure medications) in a functional medicine model is poor adrenal function. The adrenals are two walnut-sized glands that sit atop the kidneys. They produce stress hormones and help regulate blood pressure. Many people today suffer from adrenal fatigue due to chronic stress. Other causes of adrenal fatigue are poor diets, low blood sugar, chronic infections, gut problems, inflammation, and unmanaged autoimmunity — all stressors. High blood pressure usually doesn’t cause any symptoms, which is why it’s known as a “silent killer.” So you need to monitor your blood pressure regularly to find out if it’s high. However, some signs like spots in your eyes, facial flushing, and cognitive changes like memory loss and trouble finding words are associated with this condition. Severe high blood pressure can cause headaches, anxiety, shortness of breath, and nose bleeds.

Health Tips - Warning Signs Of High Blood Pressure That You Shouldn’t Ignore

06:30
High Blood Pressure Symptoms. Please SUBSCRIBE : http://bit.ly/2e9Su11 As our blood flows through the vessels and arteries throughout our body, it creates a certain amount of pressure on them. Normal blood pressure is considered to be 140/90 and lower than that. The first number refers to the systolic blood pressure, which is the pressure of the heart when it beats. The second number is the diastolic blood pressure and it is the strain measurement of the heart when it relaxes during beats. Which factors can lead to an elevated blood pressure? Stress can definitely trigger the occurrence of high blood pressure. When we are under stress, our body produces stress hormones adrenaline and cortisol, which instantly causes blood pressure to rise. In stressful situations, our blood vessels constrict, putting more pressure on the artery walls as the blood flows through them. Genes also have a part to play. If your close relatives suffer from elevated blood pressure, the likelihood that you will be affected is bigger too. The good news is that we can control some of the risk factors by leading a healthy lifestyle and eating healthily. Nutrition also plays a major role. Diet high in saturated fats and sodium can significantly increase the risk of hypertension. It is therefore recommended that we eat an abundance of whole foods that are low in sodium and high in heart-friendly fats, vitamins, minerals and fiber. Sm0king, as well as excessive alcohol and caffeine intake, can also lead to a high blood pressure, in addition to leading a sedentary lifestyle and being overweight. The likelihood also grows with age. People who suffer from disorders of the endocrine system, diabetes, high cholesterol, and kidney problems are more commonly affected by elevated blood pressure. In some persons, hypertension can suddenly rear its ugly head in pregnancy, in which case it has to be treated instantly since it can lead to preterm delivery and other serious complications in both mother and the baby. Why is it so important to treat high blood pressure? Elevated blood pressure means that the heart and the blood vessels are under a bigger amount of strain than they should be normally. This condition increases the risk of having a heart attack and/or stroke, kidney disorders and dementia. The limbs are also affected by an increased blood pressure – the peripheral arteries in the legs suffer too. What are the warning signs to look for? The dangerous feature of hypertension is that it can go without symptoms. Some people are not even aware that they suffer from it. It is, therefore, necessary to have regular health checkups. The following symptoms, however, indicate a dangerous rise in your blood pressure and they have to be treated by a physician immediately: Blurred vision. Bleeding from the nose. A pounding sensation in the neck and in the ears. Severe headache. Blood in urine. A feeling of numbness. Heavy and difficult breathing. A feeling of lightheadedness and frequent dizziness. Bad circulation. What are the methods for treating hypertension? It is essential that you promptly consult your physician in case you notice a rise in your blood pressure. It can be controlled by a combination of medication and some lifestyle changes. Moderate exercising is considered as a natural way to control hypertension. When we exercise, the oxygen intake is increased and the blood vessels are widened, not to mention the stress relief that we obtain from being physical active. What about nutrition? When it comes to the role of nutrition, DASH diet is the recommended option not only for reducing blood pressure but for improving and maintaining health in general. The abbreviation DASH stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension. It includes the following: consuming dairy products that have a low-fat content; eating a variety of fresh produce; choosing fish, poultry, grains and nuts as a rich source of protein rather than foods that are high in cholesterol and saturated fats. Signs of High Blood Pressure During Pregnancy

01:47
What are the signs of high blood pressure during pregnancy? If you are afraid you have high blood pressure, you need to see a doctor. High blood pressure is dangerous. What could it cause? In the worst scenario, it could cause a stroke, heart attack or pre-eclampsia and premature delivery. What are the symptoms I need to be on the lookout for? You could see symptoms like visual disturbances. I feel that way when I've been throwing up so much I'm dizzy. You'd have blurred vision and sensitivity to light. You might also have headaches that won't stop and the sound of blood rushing in your ears. I suppose a grocery store blood pressure monitor would be more certain. If you think your blood pressure is going up, you need to get to a doctor. Pre-eclampsia can be life threatening. How can I prevent it? In theory, having a healthy cardiovascular system and limiting salt intake help. In reality, we don't have a good preventative measure. If only they could give me high blood pressure medicine to treat it. The only cure is delivering the baby, but that all too often leads to a stillbirth or preemie. I know that high blood pressure can ruin your kidneys, making pregnancy far worse than the regular literal bathroom runs the baby already causes. Prenatal diabetes raises the risk of high blood pressure, and pre-eclampsia has a strong correlation to it. Unlike the peeing in bleach test to determine a child's gender. If you felt light headed or had blurred vision after that, it is due to chlorine fumes, not high blood pressure. How often does pre-eclampsia occur? High blood pressure shows up in around one in fifteen pregnancies, and your odds go up with age, obesity and having multiples. The only thing worse than multiples is multiple preemies. That is guaranteed to give you high blood pressure if you didn't already have it.

And having hypertension is one of the leading causes of a heart attack or stroke.(1) Now, there are lots of ways to naturally lower your blood pressure and under this video, in the description area, I’ve listed some of my favorites. However, don’t go there yet because most people, including doctors, mistakenly consume less salt to lower blood pressure. However, low-salt diets typically don’t make much of a difference. What does make a big difference is lowering sugar in your diet and more specifically, “high fructose corn syrup” In a recent study in the journal Open Heart (2), the authors write: “Evidence from epidemiological studies and experimental trials in animals and humans suggests that added sugars, particularly fructose, may increase blood pressure and blood pressure variability, increase heart rate and myocardial oxygen demand, and contribute to inflammation, insulin resistance and broader metabolic dysfunction. Thus, while there is no argument that recommendations to reduce consumption of processed foods are highly appropriate and advisable, the arguments in this review are that the benefits of such recommendations have less to do with sodium—minimally related to blood pressure and perhaps even inversely related to cardiovascular risk—and more to do with highly-refined carbohydrates and sugars." The Problem Started In The 1970s Food and beverage manufacturers began switching their sweeteners from sucrose (table sugar) to corn syrup in the 1970s when they discovered that High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) was far cheaper to use in their products. In fact, HFCS is the #1 source of calories in America!!!( 3) It’s found in almost everything you can think of. More specifically, in sodas and fruit juices. But also in many pre-packaged foods. This also includes “healthy sugars” sweetened with agave. My Proven “Prescription” and Recommendation For You You must do your best to limit and eliminate all HFCS and to do this, make sure you read labels. Again, the LESS pre-packaged the food, the better. Limit your TOTAL fructose to 25 grams or less, that’s about 100 calories daily. This includes the natural fructose found in fruits. If you are already suffering from high blood pressure or signs of insulin resistance like diabetes, overweight and high cholesterol, you should be particularly careful to limit your fructose, including that from whole fruits, to 15 grams per day or less. That’s about 60 calories daily. So there you have it. Focus more on limiting your sugars, this includes fruit sugar, fructose … and especially “high fructose corn syrup” which is found in most pre-packaged foods, especially sodas and fruit juices. Now, I wanted to keep this video short and simple so you have something to implement today and start get results right away. If you want more details on how to lower your blood pressure naturally, under this video I’ve got simple and proven solutions that you can utilize and you do NOT even have to change your diet or exercise. Common Symptoms Of Low Blood Pressure

07:46
Key Signs and Symptoms of Low Blood Pressure People frequently talk about high blood pressure, as it can lead to heart attacks, strokes and kidney failure. But low blood pressure, also known as hypotension, can also cause damage to your body. While a blood pressure reading of 140/90 mm Hg or above is considered high, a reading of less than 90/60 mm Hg is considered low. Everyone’s blood pressure drops at one time or another and doesn’t cause any noticeable symptoms. For instance, the transition from sitting or lying down to standing can cause a drop in blood pressure. Some people may experience low blood pressure right after eating or from prolonged standing. However, certain conditions can cause prolonged periods of hypotension that can be bad for your health. Such conditions include pregnancy, significant blood loss due to an injury, poor circulation caused by a heart condition, weakness that accompanies dehydration, dieting to lose weight, anaphylactic shock, infections of the bloodstream and endocrine disorders, such as diabetes, adrenal insufficiency and thyroid disease. Certain medications like beta-blockers, diuretics, tricyclic antidepressants and erectile dysfunction drugs can also cause hypotension. A deficiency of the essential vitamins B12 and folic acid can cause anemia, which in turn can lead to low blood pressure. Having persistent low blood pressure is not good. If the blood pressure gets severely low, your body will not receive enough oxygen to carry out its normal functions. A decreased oxygen level can lead to impaired functioning of the heart and brain as well as cause difficulty breathing. In certain cases, people with low blood pressure can lose consciousness or go into shock (when the organs shut down). This makes it more important to be aware of the signs and symptoms of low blood pressure, so that timely treatment can be provided. Here are the key signs and symptoms of low blood pressure.

1. Dizziness or Light-Headedness. One of the key symptoms of low blood pressure is dizziness and light-headedness. Low blood pressure causes poor blood flow to the brain. This reduces the oxygen supply to the brain and makes you feel dizzy and light-headed. This is often associated with a sudden position change, such as standing too quickly after waking up in the morning. If your blood pressure is severely low, dizziness can cause fainting, too. 2. Fatigue. Low blood pressure can affect your energy level and cause fatigue. The flow of blood plays a key role in the production of energy, as it provides the body with oxygen and necessary nutrients. The mitochondria within the cells need nutrients for energy production. When there is a disruption in the blood flow due to a drop in blood pressure, it disrupts the energy creation process, which in turn causes fatigue and tiredness. Even sleep disruptions caused by this change in blood volume can add to your fatigue. Having super low energy is never a good sign, so see your doctor. 3. Rapid Heart Rate. If you experience a rapid heart rate or palpitation, it may be due to a drop in your blood pressure level. Poor blood flow to the heart causes it to contract irregularly. If the heart is not getting filled with the right amount of blood, it compensates by beating faster. It can also cause your pulse and breathing to speed up. You may even notice frequent changes in body temperature. When it comes to your heart, any abnormal change should be checked by your doctor. 4. Cold, Clammy Skin. Having cold, clammy and pale skin (not due to strenuous physical activity) could be another sign of low blood pressure, especially when accompanied by rapid heartbeat and shallow breathing. This happens when there is not enough blood circulating in your body due to a drop in blood pressure. Signs and Symptoms of Hypertension

When getting your blood pressure checked, health experts will read two sets of numbers: your systolic blood pressure and your diastolic blood pressure. “When your heart squeezes, it forces the blood through the arteries and through the heart into the rest of the body, this is your systolic blood pressure. The diastolic blood pressure is the bottom number, and that’s when your heart is at rest,” explained Angela Callahan, an advanced provider with Lee Health. According to the American Heart Association, a healthy blood pressure is less than 120/80. A patient is considered to have hypertension if their blood pressure is constantly higher than that. “We want to treat hypertension earlier and prevent the long-term complications that can occur such as heart failure, cardiovascular risks, heart damage, strokes, kidney failure, peripheral vascular disease, dementia,” said Callahan. Studies show 80 percent of Americans are living with hypertension—but many are undiagnosed. “They have some swelling in their legs, dizziness, headaches, fatigue,” she said. While hypertension can be genetic, health experts say a person’s diet and physical activity can also play a major role. “They are also at risk if they smoke or if they have a chronic consumption of alcohol or even if they have chronic anxiety or stress,” said Callahan. Lowering your salt intake and increasing your cardiovascular exercise can lower your risk. “Eat more vegetables, fruits, lean meats, try to stay away from the red meats and eat more chicken and fish,” she said. Losing weight can also help lower your risk for hypertension. A diagnosis that can go undetected if patients aren’t careful. Hypotension is treatable, however, if left untreated, it can weaken the heart and cause symptoms of lethargy, weakness, lightheadedness, fatigue, and even fainting due to inadequate blood flow to the heart, brain, and other vital organs. Low blood pressure or hypotension may cause inadequate blood flow to the heart, brain, and other vital organs. A sudden drop in blood pressure often occurs when someone suddenly rises from a lying down or sitting position. This is called postural hypotension and may cause light-headedness and dizziness. While you cannot control hereditary and some environmental factors, you can still lower your risk of low Blood Pressure by making healthy diet and lifestyle choices. Low Blood Pressure caused by Adrenal Fatigue

06:03
https://www.drlam.com/blog/signs-symptoms-low-blood-pressure-causes-correlation-adrenal-fatigue/19097/ This is Dr. Lam, founder of DrLam.com and today we are going to talk about low blood pressure consistently. Now, blood pressure is an automatically regulated mechanism in our body. It is designed to provide oxygen through blood, through our brain, as well as various parts of our body. The regulation of blood pressure falls within many factors. Blood volume can effect the blood pressure, the endothelial wall of the blood vessel itself constricting and dialating through what we call baroreceptors or blood pressure sensitive receptors can help modulate the blood pressure, and of course electrolytes and the sodium balance can also play an important factor. The organs responsible including the kidneys, the adrenals, as well as the brain, can also make a big factor in regulating the blood pressure on a 24/7 basis without us knowing. Of course we can not discount the role that the heart plays as well. So maintaining normal blood pressure is a very important part of survival. Just going from a sitting to a standing position requires that it activates all the systems in various degrees so that we can stand up, not feel dizzy, and are able to walk and not feel dizzy and then have normal activity. Any time the blood pressure is not regular the brain is not getting enough profusion or blood flow, and then the body will suffer. In the case of adrenal fatigue, what happens is, because the adrenal glands regulate the sodium and potassium balance, there is a tendancy, as the adrenals get weaker, that the body is not able to regulate this as much as it should. As a result, the sodium is usually lost through the deficieny or the subclinical effectiveness of aldosterone: the hormone that is regulating the blood flow and the water flow. Now this hormone is critical because in adrenal fatigue this hormone aldosterone tends to be low. As a result the sodium is not going to be easily maintained in the body. At this time the labratory values may be the same, or when I say the same I mean normal. People come in a lot of them with low blood pressure because they are losing sodium, and without sodium your water does not flow. So in other words the water stays with the sodium, wherever the sodium goes the water goes. So as long as the sodium is high the water will be retained in the body. When the sodium is low then the body will tend to lose water, and if you lose water, then your blood pressure will go down; it will stay down consistently. That is why many people with low blood pressure tend to do better when they eat more salt they can be perked up and feel much better. But of course, you have to be careful because too much salt can lead to another set of problems including hypertension, as well as swelling in the legs, what we call edema. So first we have to understand that low blood pressure is a symptom and not a disease. Number two you have to look at the big picture of how everything else comes together. In an adrenal fatigue situation, oftentimes low blood pressure does not stand alone; it comes along with other clinical signs and symptoms that you have to put the pieces together. It is one of many symptoms that presents itself. Usually the more advanced the adrenal fatigue the more prominent this is. A very interesting thing that you also have to understand is that in the early stages of adrenal fatigue, blood pressure tends to rise because of the vessel constriction of blood vessels narrowing as a result of hormones; and then in later stages it tends to go down. So if you look at the blood pressure, it can be high and still have adrenal fatigue in early stages, if it stays low consistently then it could mean the body is in a state of advanced adrenal fatigue if all other medical workup is normal. So, low blood pressure constistently is an important symptom to look for in adrenal fatigue and it points us to the underlying dysfunction that is maybe happening in the adrenal glands. Those of you who want to learn more about this topic can read my article called 'Low Blood Pressure and Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome.'
