The problem with most yogurt is the sugar content is way too high. Be careful with dairy in general especially if it’s not organic and non-grass fed because there is a lot of hormones. He also talks about the 24 hour yogurt process under low heat. Yogurt Benefits: • Calcium • B Vitamins • Protein • Fat Kimchi and Sauerkraut – For those who are sensitive to dairy but needs to get probiotic. Alright guys so I had another question, is it okay to do yogurt on a ketogenic diet. Well, it really depends. The problem with most yogurt is the sugar content is way too high. Even with kiefer, it is way to high. Unless you can find something like this, PEAK triple cream plain yogurt. It is a great company. And you really have to be careful with dairy in general especially if its not organic, non grass-fed because there is a lot of hormones. So if you have a prostate problem for example, that could create a problem with that. Or you're susceptible with breast cancer, you're estrogen dominant, you don't wanna be adding more hormones. So if you are going to do dairy, whether its cheese or yogurt or half and half, whole cream or sour cream, or cream cheese, make sure it is a grass-fed organic very important. I don't recommend milk, it has a lot of sugar and it is actually just pasteurized, these other products are more fermented and so they actually give some additional benefit. Now, you are gonna probably need some type of device like this one, the luvele which is awesome because you plug it in and it has this setting right here that bring the temperature down to a 100 degrees. Most yogurt is made with higher heats and it is a lot quicker. So it is going to be 24 hours with a temperature of a 100 degrees. And so you place this little ceramic things inside, you can see that I just made some coconut yogurt. You can get almond yogurt, you can make yogurt out of goats milk, raw milk is best when you find it, if its not illegal on your state. Or raw goats milk yogurt, that's even better. So the real cool thing about the 24 hour yogurt process under low heat is you get a lot more microbes. You are talking like 700 billion cfu's, that stands for colony formation units. Versus regular yogurts that only has 1 to 5 billion cfu's. So that is quite a bit more because there is gonna be hardly any lactose on the end of this process. So it is gonna be kind of sour which I like and not sweet at all. But we don't want sugar in the yogurt so it is a perfect product. It has the calcium, the B vitamins, it has the protein and the fat. It is awesome. Now when you are sensitive to dairy and you wanna get probiotic, I highly recommend doing like kimchi or sauerkraut because those products are fermented vegetables and they are not only give you the probiotic but the prebiotic fibers that feed the microbes. In this video Dr. Samadi explores the top food for prostate cancer prevention. • Tomatoes Lycopene, a powerful antioxidant found in tomatoes, may be beneficial in the prevention of prostate cancer and reducing tumor growth among men with prostate cancer. Studies have found that men who ate a lot of raw tomato and cooked tomato products were less likely to develop prostate cancer compared with men who rarely ate such foods. • Broccoli Several studies have demonstrated a lower chance of developing prostate cancer among men who eat large amounts of broccoli or other cruciferous vegetables. Could be due to one of the phytochemicals found in these vegetables, called sulforaphane, selectively targets and kills cancer cells while leaving normal prostate cells healthy and unaffected.Green tea • Green Tea Components of green tea such as catechin, EGCG and epicatechin are all being studied for their effects on health. There is some evidence to support that these polyphenolic compounds may prevent the development of prostate cancer. • Soybean Legumes such as beans, peanuts and lentils all contain biologically active plant compounds known as phytoestrogens. Isoflavones, a phytoestrogen, may contain cancer-fighting properties, which suppress tumor growth in prostate cancer cells. • Pomegranate Much like red wine or green tea, pomegranate is a rich source of antioxidants. In a small study investigators found that drinking 8oz of pomegranate juice delayed the rise in PSA levels and increased the doubling time from 15 months to 54 months. Compounds in pomegranate fruit may exclusively target the prostate cancer cells and destroy them. • Salmon Polyunsaturated fats, like omega-3s and omega-6s, are essential fatty acids found exclusively in the diet and not synthesized by the body. Having a balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids may help prevent the development and progression of prostate cancer. Unfortunately, the traditional Western diet has lot of omega-6 fatty acids, but minimal omega-3s. In a Swedish study which followed men for over 30 years, researchers reported that those men who ate no fish were two to three times more likely to develop prostate cancer than men who consumed large amounts of fish in their diet. Over the holidays, many of you reading this will have gathered with your families. There's a likelihood that many of you have at least one family member who's suffering from cancer. Possibly, that person is you. In the United States, 1 out of every 2 men and 1 out of every 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer, with 1 out of every 2 of those diagnosed ultimately succumbing to this disease. The US has the 6th highest rates of cancer. The top 5 highest rates of cancer are found in Denmark, urban France, Australia, Belgium and Norway. Rounding out the top 10 are Ireland, South Korea, the Netherlands and New Caledonia (where there were nuclear tests conducted in the 1980s). It is currently estimated that these already absurdly high US numbers are set to double by the year 2050. Informing yourself of the role of estrogen in cancers and taking the necessary steps to avoid xenoestrogens in your diet is your best defense in not becoming a statistic. Dr. Nick Delgado discusses the role of hormones in cancer and some natural approaches for treating this disease. He describes a new treatment in Germany, where women with breast cancer are having plant-derived testosterone pellets placed around their lesions, with great results in shrinking them. Hello Dr. Berg here, in this video we are going to talk about ketosis, tumors and cancer. I got a question of will ketosis help cancer. Here’s some interesting facts, most tumor cells in the body are depended on glycolysis, it means you are dependent on the metabolism of sugar as their primary fuel so they are unable to use ketones. Ketones is an alternative fuel of the body, I believe it is the preferred fuel because our body is much better on it and you use ketones when you lower your carbs or you fast. It is a preferred fuel source simply because our bodies evolve ketones and not sugar and there are so many benefits that occurred when you actually run your body on ketones. All cruciferous veggies (think cauliflower, cabbage, kale) contain cancer-fighting properties, but broccoli is the only one with a sizable amount of sulforaphane, a particularly potent compound that boosts the body's protective enzymes and flushes out cancer-causing chemicals, says Jed Fahey, ScD. A recent University of Michigan study on mice found that sulforaphane also targets cancer stem cells—those that aid in tumor growth. Helps fight: breast, liver, lung, prostate, skin, stomach, and bladder cancers The development of cancer in the human body is a long-term event that begins at the cellular level with an abnormality that is typically diagnosed 10 to 20 years later. Research continues at a furious pace to find ways to cure this deadly disease, the greatest killer of Americans after heart disease. But here’s what you need to know: Most scientists have concluded that cancer might well be more easily prevented than cured. We also know that a typical Western diet plays a major role in the development of cancers, and that at least 30 percent of all cancers are believed to have a dietary component. In short, diet is the best tool we have to protect ourselves from developing cancer. Population studies first pointed to the role that broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables might play in cancer prevention. One 10-year study of 47,909 men, published by the Harvard School of Public Health, showed an inverse relationship between the consumption of cruciferous vegetables and the development of bladder cancer. So, does broccoli prevent cancer? Yes: Broccoli and cabbage seemed to provide the greatest protection. Countless studies since then have confirmed these findings. As long ago as 1982, the National Research Council on Diet, Nutrition, and Cancer found that “there is sufficient epidemiological evidence to suggest that consumption of cruciferous vegetables is associated with a reduction in cancer.” A meta-analysis, which reviewed the results of 87 case-controlled studies, confirmed once again that broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables lower the risk of cancer. As little as 10 grams a day of crucifers (less than 1/8 cup of chopped raw cabbage or chopped raw broccoli) can have a significant effect on your risk for developing cancer. Think of eating broccoli or its sidekicks as getting a natural dose of chemoprevention. One study showed that eating about two servings a day of crucifers may result in as much as a 50 percent reduction in the risk for certain types of cancers. Broccoli is the vegetable with the strongest inverse association with colon cancer too, especially in those younger than 65 and with a history of smoking. If you’ve ever smoked, eat your broccoli! While all crucifers seem to be effective in fighting cancer, cabbage, broccoli and Brussels sprouts seem to be the most powerful. Just 1/2 cup of broccoli a day protects from a number of cancers, particularly cancers of the lung, stomach, colon and rectum. No wonder broccoli is number one on the National Cancer Institute’s list of nutrition all-stars. The sulfur compounds in cruciferous vegetables are a major reason these foods are such powerful chemopreventive foods. The strong smell that broccoli, cabbage, and other cruciferous vegetables share comes from the sulfur compounds that protect the plant as well as you. The strong, sometimes bitter taste and smell of these vegetables protect them from insects and animals. The particular compounds in broccoli that are so effective against cancer include the phytochemicals, sulforaphane, and the indoles. Sulforaphane is a remarkably potent compound that fights cancer on various fronts. It increases the enzymes that help rid the body of carcinogens and actually kills abnormal cells. At the cellular level, it also helps the body limit oxidation—the process that initiates many chronic diseases. Indoles work to combat cancer through their effect on estrogen. They block estrogen receptors in breast cancer cells, inhibiting the growth of estrogen-sensitive cancers. The most important indole in broccoli—indole-3-carbinol, or I3C—is thought to be an especially effective breast-cancer preventive agent. Use legumes (beans) five or more times weekly. Take two tablespoons of Barley Green two times daily in water (6 oz.). If you feel compelled to use a sweetener, use honey, molasses, barley malt, maple syrup, or turbinado sugar instead of white sugar, brown sugar or confectioner’s sugar In any case, use these all sparingly. Dried fruits use moderately. There is a great advantage in skipping the third meal. The two meal plan allows the digestive organs to rest. Never snack. Not a sip or a taste or a morsel between meals. Have a set time for meals. Establish regularity and regimentation as far as meal schedule is concerned. Read labels for irritants and harmful foods and additives such as vinegar, monosodium glutamate, pepper (black, cayenne, hot), baking powder, soda, animal products, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, all spices. Omit one to three meals weekly unless underweight. Eat a lot of your fruits and vegetables raw. Eat slowly and chew well. Cook grains thoroughly for three hours at least. Use Crock Pots overnight if desired. Omit liquid foods at meals except on rare occasions. Liquid foods are pops, juices, water-based soups, other beverages. Use frozen fruit blended with a little fruit juice, as an ice-cream substitute. Shop at health food stores and produce markets as much as possible. Put five hours between the end of one meal and the beginning of the next. Eat a substantial breakfast and lunch, supper, if eaten, should be only whole grains or fruit. Never use soft drinks, coffees, teas, medicines, and chocolate. May use herb teas. Take one clove of raw or steamed garlic, or four garlic pills (two capsules) four times per day at meals.

Bone health - vitamin D is essential for our bodies to be able to absorb calcium.
