How to teach Kids | from a Prague kindergarten, part 1 | English for Children

19:53
How to manage 15+ Czech five year old kids in your classroom, if you only speak English? It´s easy, no worries. You need a clear and structured lesson plan, you need to be a leader and you need to show a big warm smile. Use body language too and you will succeed. Children love to be surprised, entertained, they love physical activities and once you do all of it, you can introduce and drill any language you like, even comparatives.

Pirates! Fun elementary PE game. Cooperative activity.Description of the rules below! thanks for watching!! Divide the gym into four sections using cones or other dividers. Each area should represent a different color if possible Each section of the gym represents a pirate ship. On each pirate ship are two hula hoops. One is the "Capture area" and the other is the "treasure chest" with four pieces of treasure inside. Objective- Collect as much treasure as possible Rules: 1. You cannot be tagged if you are on your pirate ship 2. you can only tag others when you are on your pirate ship. 3. This video provides an example of games that will help elementary students (grade 1-3) begin to understand the concepts of striking games. Following the TGfU model, all students are engaged and involved in the games. Students at this age should not be playing a full game of 'softball' for example.

Stephanie Roy - Physical Education Lesson

29:12
This video shows me teaching a second grade class. It is the first of a 6-lesson basketball unit. The lesson introduces students to both stationary dribbling, as well as dribbling on the move. During the lesson, the appropriate progressions at this age level are used to provide the necessary skill set and foundation for this particular unit. It also incorporates math by asking students to count and to recognize and match various shapes throughout the lesson.

6 of the Best Cooperative Games in Physical Education

03:50
The first six games are cooperative games that are great for teachers and students. The 7th game includes competition. It is good for teachers because they get to see their students interact in a non-competitive way. This unites the class and spreads team morale. When there is a goal for the entire class, it takes less pressure to perform and allows individuals to be comfortable in their environmnent. Students enjoy non-competition activity because it takes less pressure on them to peform either to beat others in a game or to lose to others in a game. Thinking about this type of play can be stressful and students may be less likely to perform in exercises outside of class if they feel what they do inside of class is oppressing or demeaning.
