The soundtrack was also processed with volume normalization, noise reduction, clipping reduction, and/or equalization (the resulting sound, though not perfect, is far less noisy than the original). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Academy_of_Model_Aeronautics Wikipedia license: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ The Academy of Model Aeronautics, based in Muncie, Indiana, USA, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of model aviation as a recognized sport as well as a recreational activity. It is the largest organization of its kind with a current membership of more than 140,000 members. Founded in 1936, the AMA is the official national body for model aviation in the United States. They sanction more than one thousand model competitions, and an increasing number of non-competitive Fly-in events for member aeromodelers... All AMA-chartered clubs require their flying members to purchase AMA memberships for said liability insurance. In order to be covered by their insurance, an AMA member does not need to fly at a chartered club's flying site, but members have to follow their guidelines. AMA's insurance coverage is in excess of one's homeowner's or other insurance. With the burgeoning interest in small park flyer aircraft which are often flown outside of regular club fields, the AMA now provides low-cost membership and coverage for park flyer enthusiasts. AMA organizes the annual National Aeromodeling Championships, the world's largest model airplane competition as well as providing press coverage of major meets across the country via their monthly publication, Model Aviation. Other publications include Park Pilot for those interested in park flyers or who are enrolled in the Academy's park pilot program; AMA Insider, an online newsletter; Sport Aviator, a no-cost e-zine for new model aviation enthusiasts regardless of membership and as of March 2010, AMA Today, a monthly e-newsletter sent via e-mail to members. Given the unique nature of model aviation insofar as it requires both airspace as well as frequency allocation for radio control, the AMA serves as a liaison with the Federal Aviation Administration... The AMA also works with both the Federal Communications Commission and the American Radio Relay League... As an associate member of the National Aeronautic Association, the AMA is recognized by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale, the world governing body of all aviation activity... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Model_aircraft A Model aircraft is a small sized replica of an existing or imaginary aircraft. It may be flying or non-flying (static), and may be an accurate scale model of a full-size design. Flying models range from simple toy gliders made of card stock or foam polystyrene to powered scale models made from materials such as balsa wood or fibreglass. some can be very large, especially when used to research the flight properties of a proposed real design. Static models range from mass-produced toys in white metal or plastic to highly accurate and detailed models produced for display and requiring thousands of hours of work. Many models are available in kit form, typically made of injection-moulded polystyrene...

Early Bird Jenny, Dennis Wiley's plans built experimental amateurbuilt WWI replica aircraft.
http://www.sportaviationmagazine.com -- Early Bird Jenny, Dennis Wiley's plans built experimental amateurbuilt WWI replica aircraft. In this issue we speak to Dan Horton about his plans built Early Bird Jenny, design by Dennis Wiley. Dan spent nearly 5 years building the Canadian version of the Early Bird Jenny. This allowed him to move the center of gravity of the aircraft rearward so that his 6 foot frame could fit more comfortably in the plane. The Early Bird Jenny uses a welded 4130 chromoly steel fuselage, with the wing constructed from aluminum tubing. The Jenny is covered in standard aircraft covering materials. Building times are reported to be between 1000 and 1500 hrs. when building from plans. Power for the Early Bird Jenny is supplied by a three cylinder Suzuki engine taken from a Chevy Sprint. Dan has modified the ignition system so that he has dual ignition, he also has three carburetors feeding the three cylinders on the engine, so that the engine produces just over 65 hp Dan also designed a belt reduction drive for his plane, as well as a steerable tail skid. The aircraft uses a standard stick and rudder control system, with a center mounted stick and left hand throttle. Dan's Early Bird Jenny takes off in about 150 feet, climbs out at gross at 500 ft./m, and when flown solo at over 800 ft./m. Cruise comes in at 60 to 65 mph. http://www.sportaviationmagazine.com Video and Audio content is Copyright © Sport Aviation Magazine. C-130 YMC-130H Lockheed Hercules flight test accident crash
Discovery Communications Content copyright. Top secret Iran hostage rescue mission aircraft YMC-130H were three modified Lockheed Hercules Aircraft for Top Secret "Operation Credible Sport", for second Iran hostage crisis rescue attempt. One of the measures considered for a second hostage rescue attempt in Iran was a project to develop a "Super STOL" aircraft, to be flown by Combat Talon crews, that would use a soccer stadium near the US Embassy as an improvised landing field. Called Credible Sport, the project acquired three C-130H transports from an airlift unit in late August 1980, one as a test bed and two for the mission, and modified them on an accelerated basis. Designated as the XFC-130H, the aircraft were modified by the installation of 30 rockets in five sets: eight firing forward to stop the aircraft, eight downward to brake its descent rate, eight rearward for takeoff assist, four mounted on the wings to stabilize them during takeoff transition, and two at the rear of the tail to prevent it from striking the ground because of over-rotation. Other STOL features included a dorsal and two ventral fins on the rear fuselage, double-slotted flaps and extended ailerons, a new radome, a tailhook for landing aboard an aircraft carrier, and Combat Talon avionics, including a TF/TA radar, a defensive countermeasures suite, and a Doppler radar/GPS tie-in to the aircraft's inertial navigation system. Of the three aircraft, only one received full modification. The program abruptly ended when it crashed during testing on October 29, 1980, and international events soon after rendered another rescue attempt moot.

Remove cat before flight
Un baptême de routine, jusqu'à ce que...de l'importance de regarder dans les ailes avant chaque vol. Pour info le chat va très bien, il continue avec application son rôle de mascotte du club Au club ULM 16-34 de Kourou, Guyane Française A standard flight until... i still don't know if it got in after the pre flight check or if i missed it. The cat is doing well, she is still our mascot. Edit : Ok some details : - the cat was INSIDE the wing, not on it. she was actually pretty safe in there, the danger was if she wanted to get down to reach us.. - i was the pilote, the woman was on her first flight as a passenger. she smile and giggle a lot, well because that's what flying does to people sometime. -i told her not to reach for the cat. i told her not to move at all actually. i trusted the cat to not move if we didn't try to reach for her. -you can see me smile shortly before landing. I was pretty assured by then that the cat wouldn't move and there was a relieve of tension; and the radio exchange with the control tower was kinda hilarious, i couldn't contain a smile. -cat is a female. -the flight was normally 20minutes long To use this video in a commercial player or in broadcasts, please email licensing@storyful.com

Bob Hoey's R/C Bird Models - A Short Summary
Robert G. Hoey, Retired Flight Test Engineer This video shows the flight test results from a series of experiments with radio controlled models of soaring birds. Models were created by taking a series photos of birds that were actually soaring, then morphing the configurations into a single, representative shape for each different species. Standard model airplane construction techniques were used. The objectives were; (1) Explore how birds fly without vertical tails. (2) Examine observed lateral control techniques (3) Determine levels of stability for different bird configurations Several technical papers have been presented which analyze the observed test results, and are posted on the following web site;http://www.johnnyarmstrong.com.

My first rc plane built with balsa wood. I bought the plan from Traplet Publications (1:9 scale) and the project took me almost a month to do. It runs with 4 Being my first build I had looked on the internet hoping to find someone else who had maybe made the same aircraft and had posted some details, unfortunately I found very little about it. Thanks to BRC Hobbies in Newcastle upon Tyne I was able to get some building advice and materials to complete this project. Special thanks to my fiancee Rachael who kindly put this video together for me. :-)

L-39XL maiden flight.wmv
Sorry for the poor video, I have a small camera mounted to an old sunglasses frame that I use for my videos and I must have had it on a little crooked!! This plane is made from Depron and Dollar Tree foam with the majority of the forward fuselage constructed of 3/4 inch pink insulation foam.. It uses a FlyFly fan with the newer 6 blade rotor, and runs on 6 cells.. Since this was a maiden and had a lot of up in it under power,I did not do any high speed runs. Need to make a few adjustments before I get all the bugs worked out, but at least it does fly!! No actual plans for this plane as I just used the plans by LowPass and enlarged them and took 'poetic licens' to them and made chagnes as I built this bird.. HIs plane and plans can be found on RCGroups.com. As you can see, my bungee was rather disappointing on this attempt..needed more 'force', but was first attempt with heavy a plane..it weights right at 5 lbs.. 44 in. span, and 52 inches long. Similar in size to the foam L-39 by TopGun Hobbies.. Hope you enjoy it..Wayne

Nigeria to establish new rules for unmanned aircraft
Nigeria plans to license drones for both commercial and private purposes under new regulations. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has already proposed rules for the integration of unmanned aircraft into the national airspace. Individuals and companies in Africa's most populous country have expressed interest in the use of drones in agriculture and power-line inspections. The unmanned aircraft can also be used for monitoring pipelines and storage tanks in the oil and gas industries. The SR-91 Aurora aircraft
Aurora also known as SR-91 Aurora is the popular name for a hypothesized American reconnaissance aircraft, believed by some to be capable of hypersonic flight at speeds of Mach 5+. According to the hypothesis, Aurora was developed in the 1980s or 1990s as a replacement for the aging and expensive SR-71 Blackbird. A British Ministry of Defence report released in May 2006 refers to USAF priority plans to produce a Mach 4-6 highly supersonic vehicle, but no conclusive evidence had emerged to confirm the existence of such a project. It was believed by some that the Aurora project was canceled due to a shift from spy-planes to high-tech unmanned aerial vehicles and reconnaissance satellites which can do the same job as a spyplane, but with less risk of casualties. The main question here is, Does the US Air Force or America’s intelligence agencies have a secret hypersonic aircraft capable of a Mach 6 performance?. The continually growing evidence suggests that the answer to this question is YES. Perhaps the most well-known instance which provides evidence of such an aircraft’s existence is the sighting of a triangular plane over the North Sea in August 1989 by oil-exploration engineer Chris Gibson. As well as the famous “skyquakes” heard over Los Angeles since the early 1990s, found to be heading for the secret Groom Lake (Area 51) installation in the Nevada desert, numerous other facts provide an understanding of how the aircraft’s technology works. Rumored to exist but routinely denied by U.S. officials, the name of this aircraft is Aurora. The outside world uses the name Aurora because a censor’s slip let it appear below the SR-71 Blackbird and U-2 in the 1985 Pentagon budget request. Even if this was the actual name of the project, it would have by now been changed after being compromised in such a manner. The plane’s real name has been kept a secret along with its existence. This is not unfamiliar though, the F-117a stealth fighter was kept a secret for over ten years after its first pre-production test flight. The project is what is technically known as a Special Access Program (SAP). More often, such projects are referred to as “black programs.” So what was the first sign of the existence of SR-91 Aurora ? On 6 March 1990, one of the United States Air Force’s Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird spyplanes shattered the official air speed record from Los Angeles to Washington’s Dulles Airport. There, a brief ceremony marked the end of the SR-71’s operational career. Officially, the SR-71 was being retired to save the $200-$300 million a year it cost to operate the fleet. Some reporters were told the plane had been made redundant by sophisticated spy satellites.

Even if no SR-71 was lost due to hostile actions during the entire Blackbird career, the Mach 3+ capable spyplane faced an adversary that could effectively intercept it: the MiG-31 Foxhound. C-17 Lands at small commuter airport by accident
C-17 Lands at small commuter airport by accident https://youtu.be/wi58Ds3Krgw TRT= 2:22 This C-17 landed at the small commuter airport (TPF - Peter O'Knight airport) just south of downtown on Davis Islands, in Tampa instead of Mac Dill AFB. Take a look at the two airports on on Google maps. The runways are lined up closely enough that this is not the first time that a military "heavy", has set up for final approach from the east before an "oh shoot" moment when they realized that there are no private homes along the runway at MacDill AFB, (who's runway is long enough to be designated an alternative for the space shuttle). When I was shooting news in Tampa, I shot the departure of a Brazilian C-130 who did the same thing. This ought to be a great story for this pilot's, great, great, grand children! Here is the link to the landing video shot by Ryan, one of the pilots trapped at the airport all day till this take off: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkuqsd_tRHw&feature=youtube_gdata_player Also, they backed the tail of the C17 over the water in the channel before takeoff! French adventurer Raphael Dinelli plans to fly from Paris to New York in solar, algae powered plane
Originally published on January 11, 2014 Sign up for a free trial of News Direct's animated news graphics at http://newsdirect.nma.com.tw/Reuters.aspx French adventurer Raphaël Dinelli plans to fly across the Atlantic from Paris to New York in a non-polluting plane powered only by algae and sunshine. Dinelli, 44, has been training for 18 months for his pilot's licence and is planning to build and test a prototype of the "green" airplane this year, France24 reported. The plane, called Eraole, will be 8 meters long, with a wingspan of 14 meters and made of carbon fibre. It will weigh 750 kilograms. At the beginning, Dinelli and his team considered using batteries to power the aircraft but then calculated that, for the estimated 50 hour flight across the Atlantic, the batteries would be too heavy. They then considered the idea of using hydrogen, but decided that would make the plane a potential "bomb". Eventually, they decided to use a diesel generator powered by oil extracted from micro-algae to generate 75 percent of the energy. The other 25 percent will be provided by solar panels, France24 reported. "If I succeed, it will be the first transatlantic flight in history without a carbon footprint," Dinelli told Le Figaro. Dinelli plans to make the flight in June 2015 to exploit the long hours of sunshine at the summer solstice, although he says the flight will need good weather and a favourable wind. To save weight, his cockpit will also not be pressurised. Dinelli told the media he is emulating Charles Lindbergh, the most celebrated of aviation pioneers. Driven by the same passion for innovation and "extreme challenges, Dinelli thinks aviation should turn start turning to other technologies to limit greenhouse gas emissions and costs, he told Le Figaro. "I know that tomorrow, Airbus will not only fly with photovoltaic panels and micro-algae oil, but it's a small step," he said.

first flights of my puddle twin rc water plane
This is a first movie of my water plane designed by Roland Merk. After i had seen a few rc waterplane movies i decided this model was the one i wanted. so after some internet surfing i found the plans and started to create one myself. if you follow all the steps in the manual it is pretty simple to buildt one. the only problem i had was to determine what kind of powerset i needed. And still think i choose something a little off track. when i compare this plane to other puddle twins i think it lacks power or is too heavy. That is why i have to watch out for stalling a little, allthough it can recover pretty easy from it also. Mine also tends to stick to the water a little so sometimes it is hard to overcome drag and speed up. Beside that i really like the model. It is capable of really slow flying and flies quit easy. Although i have to watch out for stalling. Next summer i will record some more flying video's with a much better cam. Let me know what you think of the model and the movie. Thumbs up!!!! Check out my other movies too. Eric

Babur Flying BAO-3D
Both the Asad & Omer have added their toil to bring this new concept to a shape, this RC-Machine is more than what I was imagining at the time of its plan designing, amazingly there was no bug found in the scaling or assembling process from the Plan to Plane . . . In-flight characteristics are awesome and this ultimate RC Flying machine has proved that it is already capable of performing all the maneuvers what its Flying Person is talented to achieve . . . With zero ratio of hoaxing, this stable & steady RC-Plane can be taken in the air either indoor or outdoor . . . I am uploading the unedited version of the recording for the true concept building regarding this vital RC Bird . . . Though there was a little wind blowing but still you can notice the extreme performance of this Scratch Build RC Plane . . .

Focke Wulf Fw190 A-4 RC Model Plan
http://www.trapletshop.com The fast, aggressive lines of the Focke Wulf Fw190A are beautifully captured in this Bryan Taylor RC model plan. The big two-sheet plan is for a very accurate 60.25 inch wingspan scale model featuring working flaps and retractable undercarriage. Like all Brian Taylor’s award-winning plans, this one is not for beginners. When it appeared in the skies over occupied France in 1941, the fast, heavily armed Focke Wulf Fw190A earned the name ‘Butcher Bird’ among RAF pilots who suddenly found their Spitfire V’s outclassed - a position that persisted until they were re-equipped with the Spitfire IX in1942. Fw190’s were used in all theatres of WWII in many different versions, including fighter, ground attack and reconnaissance. In 1944 the re-engined Fw190D re-established parity but, like most other German weapon developments at the time, they were by then so outnumbered by allied forces that they could have little real impact. The model is of conventional all-wood construction. A laser-cut wood-pack is available which contains most of the shaped parts needed such as fuselage formers and wing ribs, but you will need additional sheet and strip wood and ply to complete the model, as well as all the hardware needed. A moulded plastic cockpit canopy and engine cowling are available for this model, as well an aluminium propeller spinner. The model was designed to be powered by a .60 cu in two-stroke engine, but experienced modellers could probably convert it to electric power if desired.
