Hank begins teaching you about your endocrine system by explaining how it uses glands to produce hormones. These hormones are either amino-acid based and water soluble, or steroidal and lipid-soluble, and may target many types of cells or just turn on specific ones. He will also touch on hormone cascades, and how the HPA axis effects your stress response. Hormones - What Are Hormones - Functions Of Hormones - Types Of Hormones

01:38
In this video I discuss what are hormones, and how do hormones work. I also cover the types of hormones, water soluble hormones, and fat soluble hormones, what is glucagon, as well as the functions of hormones. Transcript (partial with notes) What are hormones, and what do hormones do? Hormones are messengers that are released mainly by glands, and they travel in the bloodstream through all parts of the body to targeted cells. Hormones then tell these cells what to do. How do hormones work? Types of hormones. Water soluble hormones bind to receptors on the surface of cells, and the message is delivered, and the cell does its duty. Fat soluble hormones actually enter cells and bind to receptors once inside. Again, message is delivered and the cell does its duty. What do hormones do? What is glucagon? For example glucagon is a hormone produced by the pancreas. After we eat, carbohydrates are broken down into glucose. The liver sends some of this glucose into the bloodstream to cells throughout the body. The cells use glucose as energy. The liver takes any extra glucose and stores it as glycogen, or as fat. As this glucose in the bloodstream gets used up by the cells, the liver needs to release more, and this is where glucagon comes in. The pancreas releases glucagon hormones which attach to receptors on liver cells. Glucagon tells the liver cells, we need more glucose, and the liver cells convert the stored glycogen into glucose, and releases it to keep those hungry cells fed. Functions of hormones. There are many different hormones in the body that have many different functions. There are hormones that help with blood pressure regulation, development of white blood cells, in response to stress, regulation of water retention in the kidneys, and I could go on and on and on, but I think you get the picture, they are kind of important in the body.

25 Crazy Ways That Hormones Control Your Life For Better Or For Worse

05:49
We all know the stereotype about females and hormones. And while it's true that hormones do affect the ladies, it's also true that they affect the guys. There is not a single person on Earth who is not completely dependent on their endocrine system. Without hormones, you would simply not be able to exist. Your endocrine system is basically responsible for keeping every other system in your body under control. From your hunger sensations to the way your heart races when you're scared, that is all due to your hormones. Without them you would live maybe a few days at best. You simply cannot underestimate the importance of this critical system. So, back to our initial thoughts, next time someone tells you that your hormones are controlling you...that's a very good thing. They control us all and even keep us alive. Today we're going to go over some more fun facts about the way that your endocrine glands and hormones affect your life and behavior. These are things you may never have thought about but at the very least you will gain some knowledge about how your body works. These are 25 crazy ways that hormones control your life for better or for worse! Follow us on: Twitter: https://twitter.com/list25 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/list25 Website: http://list25.com Instagram: https://instagram.com/list25/ Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/list25/ Check out the physical list here: http://list25.com/25-crazy-ways-that-hormones-control-your-life-for-better-or-for-worse/ Diabetes is the most common endocrine (hormone) disorder in the United States. It affects 8% of the population Breastfeeding releases oxytocin which helps reduce uterine bleeding and causes the uterus to return to its pre-pregnancy size In Ancient Greece, Hippocrates used to test his patients for diabetes by tasting their urine (diabetics have "sweet" urine) Alcohol impairs the body's production of antidiuretic hormone, which tells the kidneys to retain water. This is why you end up urinating more and getting dehydrated when you drink alcohol. Your eight hormone secreting glands aren't the only things in your body that emit hormones. A woman's placenta, for example, releases estrogen and progesterone. And your stomach releases ghrelin (which induces hunger) Scientists have found a positive correlation between vitamin D and testosterone. Loosely speaking, the more sun you get, the higher your testosterone levels It was in the 1800s that scientists realized organs must have some sort of chemical communication system. The term "hormone", however, wasn't used until the 1900s We vividly remember fearful or traumatic moments because our amygdala releases adrenaline, cortisol, and temporarily increases our memory function Researchers have found that 1 week of camping without electronics re-calibrates our biological clocks and synchronizes our melatonin hormones (responsible for helping us sleep) with the sunrise/sunset Cuddling has been found to release Oxytocin, a hormone that reduces swelling and actually helps heal physical injuries And more... 5 Foods That Destroy Your Hormones and Skin

04:06
Once we leave the teenage years, we may think acne is a thing of the past. But later in life, an imbalance of hormones can shake things up and acne takes center stage again. An endocrine imbalance is the culprit responsible for triggering hormonal acne. Women in mid-cycle and/or right before their periods are easy prey. These are the two times a month when estrogen and testosterone spike. These two hormones can accumulate if not properly detoxed. And when estrogen dominates, the complexion is fertile ground where inflamed skin and acne can thrive. Luckily there is a natural solution that may provide relief. The first step is to pay attention to your diet. The food you ingest can disrupt your hormones which in turns, produces inflammation. But on the flip side, the right kinds of food can balance hormones and soothe your skin. In today’s video we’ll examine the foods which work for and against your hormones. Foods to Avoid 1. Soy Soy has been on the suspect list of instigating acne. If you think you are sensitive to soy, try eliminating it from your diet and see if your condition improves. It contains phytoestrogens which can create a hormonal imbalance. 2. Dairy Excess dairy consumption can contribute to a surplus of hormones that can lead to acne. Dairy is also a primary cause for leaky guy syndrome. 3. Gluten Like dairy, Gluten can disrupt hormones. It can create intestinal inflammation and produce a domino effect of health issues. 4. Caffeine Caffeine is a kick-starter for millions every morning. Yet it often comes with a tradeoff. It can take its toll on your skin’s immune response. A steady combination of coffee and tea can strip away many essential vitamins which are essential to maintaining a vibrant complexion. 5. Canola, Sunflower, Safflower and Vegetable Oil If you have acne-prone skin, put these oils on your radar as ones to avoid. They have certain nutrients that can ignite a fire storm on your complexion, especially during peak estrogen days. The Best Foods for Your Complexion 1. Avocados Avocados contain a substance that can bring hormone levels back under control. Adding avocados to your diet can be a natural defense system to ward off inflammation. 2. Turmeric Another spice you may already have in your kitchen cabinets is Turmeric. Besides its natural ability to reduce inflammation, pain and swelling, it’s also a remedy for your skin. 3. Chia Seeds One of the highest sources of omega-3’s in nature can be found in this gluten-free grain. These little marvels can stabilize blood sugar, improve insulin sensitivity and keep blood pressure spikes in check. 4. Cinnamon In your spice rack, you may already have a secret weapon. Cinnamon. This aromatic spice contains anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties that help regulate hormones. 5. Pomegranates Mood swings can be tempered by eating Pomegranates. They produce the same estrogens that female ovaries do. They also are rich in anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. -------------------------------------------------------- Disclaimer: The materials and the information contained on Natural Cures channel are provided for general and educational purposes only and do not constitute any legal, medical or other professional advice on any subject matter. Hormones In The Body

37:19
Hormones In The Body https://www.thelifeco.com/en/therapies/well-aging-therapies Hormones in the body are part of a very complicated system. The hormonal system is far more complex than most people realize. When people think of hormones, they think of estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and thyroid as these are the most common. The truth is, there are many more hormones than these mentioned. Even the heart makes a hormone that deals with salt balance in our body. Our brain has hormones that go to the pituitary gland and that that gland makes more hormones. How important are hormones and how powerful are they? Well, if you took a 10-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy and just put on shorts and cut their hair very short, you couldn’t tell which was which. Fast forward to three years later and you can tell the difference easily. So, what happens in those three years? Hormones happened. Hormones change a boy into a man and a girl into a woman. Without the hormonal intervention, while we are still in the womb, we would all be females. That’s how important and powerful hormones are to us. A hormone is a chemical that is produced in one place and has its effect in another place in the body. We help balance hormones naturally at our center, contact us for more details here; https://www.thelifeco.com/en/therapies/well-aging-therapies https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMbRh6FGJl0YqpWKl-1I3GldlrAM1R95f https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCV3cs0wtJUNOZ_iLXl7UYUw/videos

A hormone is a chemical messenger that is secreted (or released) into our bloodstream by specific organs known as glands. Hormones regulate (or control) many processes in our body, including blood glucose levels, water content in blood, general growth, and blood pressure – just to name a few. They produce a specific response when they reach the target organ. SUBSCRIBE to the FuseSchool YouTube channel for many more educational videos. How Does Pituitary Gland Work? Hormones of Hypophysis Functions & Disorders Animation -TSH FSH Video

03:00
The pituitary gland is often referred to as the "master gland" of the body, since it regulates many activities of other endocrine glands. Located above the pituitary gland is the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus decides which hormones the pituitary should release by sending it either hormonal or electrical messages. In response to hormonal messages from the hypothalamus, the pituitary gland releases the following hormones: GH (growth hormone) – increases size of muscle and bone TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) – stimulates the thyroid gland to release T3 and T4 to stimulate metabolism in other cells throughout the body FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) – stimulates ovarian follicle production in women; stimulates sperm production in men LH (luteinizing hormone) – stimulates ovaries to produce estrogen in women; stimulates sperm production in men Prolactin – stimulates breast tissue in nursing mothers to produce milk ACTH (adrenocorticotropic hormone) - causes the adrenal glands to produce important substances that have properties similar to steroids In response to electrical messages from the hypothalamus, the pituitary gland releases the following hormones: ADH (antidiuretic hormone) - stimulates the kidneys to reabsorb fluid and produce less urine Oxytocin – initiates labor, uterine contractions and milk ejection in mothers The pituitary gland, or hypophysis, is an endocrine gland about the size of a pea and weighing 0.5 grams (0.018 oz) in humans. It is a protrusion off the bottom of the hypothalamus at the base of the brain. The hypophysis rests upon the hypophysial fossa of the sphenoid bone in the center of the middle cranial fossa and is surrounded by a small bony cavity (sella turcica) covered by a dural fold (diaphragma sellae). The anterior pituitary (or adenohypophysis) is a lobe of the gland that regulates several physiological processes (including stress, growth, reproduction, and lactation). The intermediate lobe synthesizes and secretes melanocyte-stimulating hormone. The posterior pituitary (or neurohypophysis) is a lobe of the gland that is functionally connected to the hypothalamus by the median eminence via a small tube called the pituitary stalk Hormones secreted from the pituitary gland help control the following body processes: Growth Blood pressure Some aspects of pregnancy and childbirth including stimulation of uterine contractions during childbirth Breast milk production Sex organ functions in both males and females Thyroid gland function The conversion of food into energy (metabolism) Water and osmolarity regulation in the body Water balance via the control of reabsorption of water by the kidneys Temperature regulation Pain relief Sleeping patterns (pineal gland) Some of the diseases involving the pituitary gland are: Central diabetes insipidus caused by a deficiency of vasopressin. Gigantism and acromegaly caused by an excess of growth hormone in childhood and adult respectively. Hypothyroidism caused by a deficiency of thyroid-stimulating hormone. Hyperpituitarism, the increased (hyper) secretion of one or more of the hormones normally produced by the pituitary gland. Hypopituitarism, the decreased (hypo) secretion of one or more of the hormones normally produced by the pituitary gland. Panhypopituitarism a decreased secretion of most of the pituitary hormones. Pituitary tumours. Pituitary adenomas, noncancerous tumors that occur in the pituitary gland. Somatotrophins: Human growth hormone (HGH), also referred to as 'growth hormone' (GH), and also as somatotropin, is released under the influence of hypothalamic growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), and is inhibited by hypothalamic somatostatin Thyrotrophins: Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), is released under the influence of hypothalamic thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) and is inhibited by somatostatin. Corticotropins: Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), and Beta-endorphin are released under the influence of hypothalamic corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH). Lactotrophins: Prolactin (PRL), also known as 'Luteotropic' hormone (LTH), Gonadotropins: Luteinizing hormone (also referred to as 'Lutropin' or 'LH'). Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), both released under influence of Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH) The intermediate lobe synthesizes and secretes the following important endocrine hormone: Melanocyte–stimulating hormone (MSH). This is also produced in the anterior lobe. When produced in the intermediate lobe, MSHs are sometimes called "intermedins". Posterior: Magnocellular Neurons: Antidiuretic hormone (ADH, also known as vasopressin and arginine vasopressin AVP), the majority of which is released from the supraoptic nucleus in the hypothalamus. Oxytocin, most of which is released from the paraventricular nucleus in the hypothalamus.

Estrogen vs Progesterone Hormonal Dominance: Control Low Hormones Symptoms

04:05
http://getleantoday.com - Dr. Raj Banerjee shares the key differences between estrogen and progesterone. Steroids are a group of hormones that regulate body functions – and they are all derived from cholesterol. Or fat. That’s right, fat. Estrogen, which is usually the focus of HRT, is actually a generic term for three different forms of hormone called Estriol, Estrodiol and Estrone - Estrodiol being the most potent. Estrogen is called the female sex hormone because it regulates the menstrual cycle and causes thing to grow during puberty – Dr Raj likes estrogen because it creates curves and it also stimulates cell growth in preparation for pregnancy. Estrogen is a growth hormone. It has received a lot of bad press because people have been taking too much estrogen in the form of synthetic hormone for a long period of time. And any hormone you take in excess is going to cause problems. And a growth hormone like estrogen if you take too much of it. You are going to get excessive cell growth which is another term for what we call cancer. So its understandable, estrogen is not good or bad, but if you take too much estrogen its going to cause problems. Progesterone is the pro gestational hormone. It’s the hormone that keeps the uterine lining intact if you get pregnant. And its depleted when you are under stress. So the typical reaction is high stress, high cortisol levels when you are under stress and the depletion of the progesterone. Its pretty amazing what progestronine helps with. It helps protect from many of the negative effects of extra estrogen. It helps women sleep. It gives them better sex drive, better energy levels, makes your skin look better. It’s a wonderful hormone. If we compare them side-by-side, you’ll see that they counterbalance each other in many ways. There’s an ideal ratio between these two hormones. Estrogen given in too large of a dose can cause depression, headaches, it increases the risk of blood clotting and stroke. It causes the loss of many nutrients such as zink and copper. It interferes with oxygen levels. Again that in a person that is getting excessive estrogen which has basically been the history of menopausal treatment. Dr Raj wants to leave you with an important point to free yourself from chronic fatigue and pain and depression and overweight. Ovarian hormones do not spontaneously malfunction by themselves. The female hormones do not all of a sudden malfunction by themselves. They are responding to stress as a stress hormone called cortisol. Every molecule of cortisol that you produce comes from progesterone. When you are under stress guess what happens? Your cortisol goes up and your progesterone drops. Dr Raj wants to test your cortisol and fix it. And he wants to test your female hormone and fix your whole hormonal system at the same time and make all your symptoms go away. That will help eliminate depression and fatigue. Night sweats, hot flashes, mood swings etc. and it will improve your metabolism so you will able to start losing weight. Human Growth Hormone Explained: Everything You Need to Know (Made Simple to Understand)

Dr Kiel quickly reviews and explains Human Growth Hormone or HGH and the health effects on your body. The emphasis is understanding these hormones and ways to promote them naturally. Please like, subscribe, comment and share! SUBSCRIBE: https://www.youtube.com/user/DrJohnKiel FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/medicinelifestyle TWITTER: https://twitter.com/LifestyleMedYou This peptide hormone, also known as somatotropin, human growth hormone or HGH, is a physiologically active hormone that has a significant role in multiple processes of the human body. Growth hormone synthesis, production and regulation occurs in the hypothalamus-pituitary axis. These two glands, located in the brain, are responsible for a wide variety of hormone regulation that includes thyroid function, reproductive hormones such as estrogen and testosterone, adrenaline, dopamine, and others in addition to growth hormone. The regulatory process is somewhat complex and has an entire medical specialty dedicated to it known as endocrinology, so I won’t dive any deeper into that discussion but I would encourage you to look it up if you want to know more. This is an anabolic hormone; in other words it ‘promotes growth’. While this includes skeletal muscle, it’s certainly not limited to it. It’s worth noting that it is not androgenic, as opposed to testosterone, meaning it doesn’t promote male sex characteristics such as facial hair and deeper voice. The most prominent effect of this hormone is that it promotes bone growth and is the primary hormone responsible for growing to an adult size. In children, it’s largely responsible for determining height, and is modulated by several mechanisms. Secretion peaks during puberty, where the most bone growth occurs, and then declines with age (like most hormones). Along with bone growth, it promotes bone mineralization and calcium retention. Other functions include: Skeletal muscle proteins synthesis, specifically sarcomere hypertrophy Increase in lean body mass Fat breakdown (lipolysis) Protein synthesis elsewhere (not just muscle) Decrease cellular uptake of glucose Increased glucose synthesis (gluconeogenesis) Release of insulin-like growth factor 1 (will discuss separately) Growth of other organs Pancreas regulation Immune system stimulation Promotes thyroid activity

Top 5 Leafy Green Vegetables: Reduce Estrogen & Boost Hormones - Thomas DeLauer

06:48
Top 5 Leafy Green Vegetables: Reduce Estrogen & Boost Hormones - Thomas DeLauer: Cut through the fluff and the noise and let's get down to brain, body, family and business - http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com Consuming fruits and vegetables in large quantity and variety is crucial to living a healthy life. We can break out the benefit being due largely to three categories: fiber, vitamins and minerals and phytochemicals. Fiber - increased fiber is tied to decreased obesity and cardiovascular troubles. Vitamins and minerals - play a role in every bodily function. Increasing quantity and variety of vitamins and minerals will reduce likelihood of disease while keeping you feeling energetic and healthy. Phytochemicals - encompasses antioxidants, anti-inflammatory agents and phytoestrogens. Help protect cells from damage. Different fruits and vegetables have different nutrient composition, with leafy greens often leading the pack in health benefits. So which leafy greens are best? A study in in 2014 published in Preventing Chronic Disease set out to try and rate so-called powerhouse fruits and vegetables (PFV) based on nutrient density. Powerhouse fruits and vegetables are the fruits most correlated to a reduced risk of chronic diseases, such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease. -PFV foods were here defined as those containing 10% or more of the daily value per 100 kcal of 17 nutrients correlated with the largest health benefits. 47 foods were studied with 41 satisfying this rule and were more nutrient-dense than those not defined as PFV. -To give each of these foods a score, both the nutritional content of the 17 nutrients along with the bioavailability of each was evaluated. Here is a list of my favorite five and how they benefit your health: 4 of the five of those below were in the top 10 scoring PFV, with the other yielding some benefits different from the others that I find valuable. These leafy greens are also discussed widely for their nutritional value. 5. Collard Greens: 10th highest nutrient density score on above mentioned PFV study (2) -Very high in vitamins K and A, which are crucial for bone health, brain function and eyesight. (3) -High in the carotenoid lutein, which is especially important in eye health, particularly the retina. (4) -Help lower cholesterol due to ability to bind with bile acids in the digestive system, helping to remove excess cholesterol. (3) -Very bitter, so better to lightly saute and season rather than juice. (3) 4. Kale: *Protein powerhouse! -While not in the top 10 PFV, still considered a PV. -Contains all 9 essential amino acids - very good food for vegetarians -More omega-3s than omega-6s. -Contains greater than your daily recommended quantities of vitamins C, A and K1. These are important for bone health, eyesight, brain functioning as well as vitamin C being a powerful antioxidant. 3. Spinach: 5th highest nutrient density score on above mentioned PFV study (2) -High in protein, niacin, zinc, fiber, potassium, calcium and vitamins A, C, E and K, just to name a few. (3) -Also high in the carotenoid lutein, which is great for eye health, as mentioned earlier. (4) -One of the best foods for brain health and function. Boost your memory ability with this superfood. (3) 2. Beet Greens: 4th highest nutrient density score on above mentioned PFV study (2) -Many people purchase beets with the stems and make the mistake of cutting off the beet greens, which are more loaded nutritionally than the beets themselves! (4) -Contains vitamins K and calcium, making it great for bone health. This may also help to fight Alzheimer’s disease. (3) -Even more iron than spinach, which is crucial for everyone, but especially women and vegetarians, who are often found to have low iron levels. (3) -Also high in vitamins A and C and magnesium. (3,4) 1. Swiss Chard: 3rd highest nutrient density score on above mentioned PFV study (2) -Packed with vitamins C, E, and A, magnesium and zinc. (3) -Syringic acid helps to regulate blood sugar and thus can be helpful for those with diabetes. (3) -Contains kaempferol, a flavonol linked to decreased risk of cancer and chronic diseases (3). -Ranked as number 1 due to the ability to detoxify your body. Betalin pigments in swiss chard help to excrete toxins from your body. (3) References: 1. Health Benefits of Fruits and Vegetables http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3649719/ 2. How to Reduce Cortisol Naturally (Stress Hormone)

05:45
Have you seen the self-help books on how to reduce stress? So which one has the real answer? Two reasons that spring to mind as instigators are: finances and romances. But that’s not all; there’s often a kaleidoscope of trouble brewing internally. The hypothalamus located in your brain starts to ring the alarm. Then the adrenal glands rev up production of cortisol – which is known as the stress hormone. In today’s video we’ll take an in-depth look at this steroid hormone and learn more about its function. Cortisol’s responsibilities Helps keep insulin in check Helps us remain in control as we respond to stress Helps regulate blood pressure Aids the immune system’s health It sounds like a good hormone, but a continuously high level of cortisol can lead to Cushing’s syndrome. Some of the causes of Cushing’s syndrome Chronic stress Adrenal gland problems Consuming too much alcohol Depression Symptoms of Cushing’s syndrome Mood swings Not your typical moody blue days – but days on end when you can’t seem to enjoy anything. Digestive problems When cortisol levels are too high, energy is diverted away from the gastrointestinal tract. This rerouting process reduces enzyme production, which hampers digestion. Heart disease and High Blood Pressure When too much stress in your life triggers an over-abundance of cortisol, it may elevate your blood pressure. This can place you at a higher risk of heart disease. Sleep problems When we awaken in the morning, cortisol is in full production mode to help us make the transition from sleep to life in the real world. Those who suffer from chronic stress have unstable cortisol concentrations, and they won’t have that extra burst of morning cortisol. Weight gain The next time you feel a craving for carb-laden foods and sweets, you may be able to blame it on cortisol. Having a high amount for an extended period can stimulate an appetite for food you wouldn’t ordinarily want to eat. Premature wrinkles Leave it to this pesky hormone to make a visible statement on our faces. High cortisol levels can dehydrate our skin, leaving it prone to premature wrinkles. Other symptoms include: Aches and pains, especially backaches More susceptive to infections, as cortisol may weaken the immune system Growth of facial hair in women Development of pinkish/purple stretch marks on non-pregnant women These symptoms develop gradually, at least in most cases. Therefore, it may take time before a problem is clearly recognized. But if you suspect you may have too much cortisol, you can make lifestyle changes to reduce it. How to lower your cortisol production 1. Eliminate caffeine It’s worth a try to eliminate it from you diet for 2 weeks. Reports indicate that 200mg of caffeine can elevate blood cortisol by 30% in only 1 hour. 2. Sleep deeper and longer Sleep deprivation can create a host of health issues. Perhaps you could try a natural substance, Inositol. It’s a branch of the vitamin B family and is naturally present in certain foods. 3. Exercise regularly Exercise is a stress buster. It not only builds muscle mass but it also causes your brain to produce serotonin and dopamine. These two brain chemicals reduce stress, depression and anxiety. 4. Keep your blood sugar stable That includes banning donuts and cookies from your plate. Consuming excess refined sugar and simple carbs can cause your insulin production to soar. 5. Drink more water Staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water will also keep cortisol from spiking. Drink a glass of water when you go to bed and when you first awaken. 6. Take anti-stress supplements These can be found naturally in calcium, vitamins B and C, magnesium, zinc and CoQ 10 7. Meditate or listen to relaxation tapes Much of the music today can break the sound barrier. If you want to relax and lower your cortisol, turn on some soft music. Or try meditation. We have enough bad stuff on our plate – and that can get us tangled in knots. Take control and lower your cortisol. You’ll be glad you did. How To Boost Leptin, The Master Fat Loss Hormone

07:29
Get ripped fast with this 3-step program: http://goo.gl/tu4W9C Hey guys... It's Clark again. Welcome to my place! So today is day 3 of celebrating our brand new Six Pack Shortcuts 2 program launch. And if you missed the 2 previous launch week videos, we announced that we updated our original SPS program and are releasing The NEW SPS2 hormone training program this coming Monday! The new workout program consists of a simple 3-step system to getting six pack abs. And yesterday, I showed you step one… Which is burning your belly fat as fast as possible with Afterburn training. Plus, for the guys watching, I also showed you how to get my new Afterburn Amino acids for free. And for you newcomers to launch week, it’s not too to get hooked up with free supplements… I'll be choosing the winner in the next few days - so if I were you, I’d hurry up and enter! So If you missed that video... go check it out right now before you watch this video… Just click right here: https://youtu.be/vB9NIm0SZRg Today we're going into step 2 of the program.... Boosting your leptin. Now once you’ve dramatically reduced your belly fat in step 1, the health of your leptin levels will be much more easy to boost. Leptin is your most vital fat-burning hormone. It regulates your appetite and also tells your body to burn stored body fat as it’s primary fuel source. However, if your leptin levels aren’t where they should be, your appetite can go haywire and your brain will have trouble receiving the chemical messages to burn body fat - ultimately making weight loss nearly impossible. Now the reason why i’m in the kitchen is not because I’m going to tell you that you need to start dieting... so don't worry. I'm actually here to tell you to stop dieting... Here's the thing... did you know by going on a restrictive, low calorie diet can destroy your leptin levels?... And here’s why: from the moment you start a low-calorie diet, your body isn't aware of your hopes for a trim, tight six pack or of your desire to drop 20 lbs in time for this summer’s bathing suit season. In reality, the only thing it does know is that your calorie intake is now below normal... And to your brain, that's a huge red flag... The result? Dramatically reduced leptin levels and extremely decreased fat burning. In fact, research has shown that leptin levels drop by as much as 50% after just 7 days of low-calorie dieting. That puts you at only 50% of your fat-burning potential at just one week into your fat loss diet plan... and it only gets worse with each passing day. So the key to getting rid of fat is not by cutting calories or eating salads all day… They key is to eat the right amounts of macronutrients: Carbs, Protein, and Fats. Many of these foods are needed to produce the right hormones. For example, dietary fats like almonds and avocados, are precursors for healthy testosterone production. And eating the right amount is the key... not to much and not too less. And instead of expecting you guys to manage prepping your foods with food scales or measuring utensils, I’ve created a portion control cheat sheet for you! So now that you know a bit about eating your way to higher leptin levels... you can get a head start on supporting your leptin and losing fat. But eating your way to healthier leptin levels isn’t the only way to burn off your fat faster. There is also a unique training technique that can trigger enhanced production of leptin. And you guessed it… The leptin-training phase is built in to the new SPS 2 program as step 2… which we are officially releasing in just a few days. But for today, I’m not going to leave you hanging… I’ve got 100 bottles of Leptin Shred, our leptin supporting fat burner, that I will be giving away to 100 lucky guys. To be one of these guys, just go to http://goo.gl/tu4W9C and leave your name and email address for me. This way you’ll be officially entered into the drawing and I’ll be able to shoot you an email if you just so happen to be one of the lucky guys I choose... So make sure you enter in, and share it with your family and friends! Tomorrow we will dive into the 3rd and final step of getting six pack abs. And that step is boosting your testosterone levels. So stay tuned in for tomorrow’s Day 4 of launch week where we’re traveling back to Austin with Johnny to give you some pointers on testosterone training. Sign up to get shredded with this revolutionary 3-step program: http://goo.gl/tu4W9C

Dr. Laurie Blanscet, a hormone and anti-aging specialist, explains that most traditional practitioners don’t understand the role that hormones play in our moods. Instead of determining if hormones are the root cause for women (and men) presenting with anxiety and depression, most traditional practitioners simply grab the prescription pad for anti-depressants. According to a government study, nearly 1 out of 3 women in their 40s and 50s are taking an antidepressant. Tune in and learn how to take charge of your emotional health after 50! Are hormones the root cause? Dr. Laurie loves to help men and women achieve optimum health through the use of bio-identical hormones, proper nutrition and exercise.
