How to write like an architect
Take the 'How to Write Like an Architect Course,' Plus get Doug's hand written architecture font. https://thearchitectsacademy.usefedora.com/p/how-to-write-like-an-architect Hi Im Doug Patt and this is how to architect. Today well learn How to write like an architect. The basic drafting tool for an architect when working by hand is a parallel rule. You can also use a t-square. Ill be using an ames lettering guide to create the lines for the lettering. First were going to create our horizontal lines using the lettering guide. The guide has a variety of spacing options to create just about any combination your looking for. I will also be using a small triangle. Ive added tape to this one for ink lettering to avoid smearing. Ill also be using a .5mm pentel drafting pencil and a paper mate, flair pen for the letters. Ive created a small grid here to give me some guidance when I lay out the letters. Id say the most important thing to remember about hand lettering is that your letters need to seem animated while still appearing orderly and neat. I think this is achieved by using a few conventions. For example, youll notice the letters have some amount of incompleteness. The second diagonal on the A does not follow all the way to the guide line, the bottom of the B or D isnt complete, The bottom line on the E starts in front of the vertical. The second thing is that all the horizontals in the letters are drawn by hand, not using the parallel rule. They all sit at a slight angle making them dynamic and yet uniform. Youll also notice that I use the ruler for all vertical lines. Lastly, when making your Os, Qs, Cs, Gs, even 8s and 9s, the letters and numbers are simply combinations of semi circles. Even the letter S is made the same way. These are two images from my portfolio. They are good examples of how your strings of words will come together to form orderly yet animated paragraphs. This is a quote I found from Tyron Edwards Dictionary of thoughts I enjoy referring to from time to time. It seemed appropriate for a youtube video because giving people the most amount of knowledge in the least amount of time is really what drives the information age. So, remember hand lettering is about style and legibility. Mine is definitely stylized and probably a little tough to read sometimes. So thanks for checking out how to write like an architect. Im Doug

The 48 Laws of Power (Animated)
Get 2 FREE Audiobooks of Your Choice on Audible | http://amzn.to/2b9GBJr I crafted this summary of the 48 Laws of Power in anger. It is the end result of 2 years of animating all chapters condensed for your viewing pleasure. Surely, you've heard the phrase "Hate the game, not the player." I'm exposing the game and the players for you. Being honest and speaking the truth has been a punishing and not at all rewarding experience, since most people will always shoot the messenger. I aim to raise awareness and arm the clueless for self-protection. I am not advocating becoming a manipulating and ruthless sociopath. I can't respect those who don't understand the difference. It's a self-improvement book, not the work of the devil. Robert Greene is all about intense realism. Seeing things for what they are, whether you like the truth or not. Hopefully you'll find the video helpful, learn from it and share it with others. I've received plenty of messages from good people claiming it changed their lives for the better. Don't let others use and abuse you. Don't live in a fantasy land. Be cautious. Read this book or don't. Measuring to to the nearest centimeter - 2nd grade math lesson
Measuring length to the nearest centimeter means we just give the length as "about 5 cm" or maybe "about 8 1/2 cm" instead of checking the exact millimeters. In this lesson I show how to use a centimeter-ruler to measure how long pencils or lines are. Mathy and I also ESTIMATE the length of some pencils before checking with the ruler how long they are in reality. Lastly we figure out how much taller some chess pieces are than others. :) Check out also my workbook Math Mammoth Measuring 1 at http://www.mathmammoth.com/measuring_1.php

Ladies and gentlemen, allow us to introduce The Women and Men of Measurement! »»-------------¤-------------««»»-------------¤-------------«« LYRICS: We are the women and men of measurement; if there’s a distance, we find the length of it. We know we can always put twelve inches inside a foot. And one yard just won’t be complete if it does not contain three feet. One inch is what you’ve got if you’re looking at the top of a bottle a’ pop. On your thumb there’s about one inch from your knuckle to your fingertip. We are the women and men of measurement; if there’s a distance, we find the length of it. The length of the folder where your work is put measures out to just one foot. You’ll find a foot if you just look at the height of the parrot on my hook. A football field has one hundred marks; each one is a yard apart. At the plate with a softball bat, a yard is about what you’re looking at. We are the women and men of measurement; if there’s a distance, we find the length of it. Open our fingers a pinch and make an inch; then make our hands look just like a foot. Put them three times as far and make a yard; now we know how long they are! This video addresses the following Common Core Standards: 4.MD (Solve problems involving measurement and conversion of measurement from a larger unit to a smaller unit.) 5.MD (Convert like measurement units within a given measurement) (Customary Measurements)

Past Continuous Tense ( Past Progressive) - English grammar tutorial video lesson
Past continuous tense video lesson. This tutorial is about the past continuous. In this lesson I'm going to show you how to form a past continuous and when to use a past continuous but before we get started, it's good to know how to conjugate the verb 'to be' in it's past tense. For the singular forms: I was, you were, he was, she was and it was. For the plural forms we were, you were, they were. It's also good to note that when I say a vowel I mean an a, e, i, o or u Consonants are all the other letters in the alphabet. Now let's get started. Take a look at these sentences: I was talking on the phone We were cookin dinner. Both these sentences are in the past continuous tense. How to form the past continuous? We use the past tense of the verb to be so either was or were the base form of the verb and 'ing' I was working late. You were talking too fast. He was watching television. She was walking to school. It was raining. For the plural forms we do the same. We were singing a song. You were doing your homework. They were looking for a hotel. Now we need to pay extra attention to verbs that end in an 'e', such as take, make and close. These verbs drop their 'e.' For example: I was taking the bus to school He was making dinner. They were closing the window. Please note that these verbs no longer have their 'e'. We also need to pay attention to verbs that have one syllable end in a consonant and are preceeded by a vowel, because they double their final consonant. These verbs are verbs such as sit, get and run. Take a look at the examples: I was sitting outside. You were running fast. It was getting late. We were letting ourselves go. They were swimming in the river. Let's have a look at the past continuous in questions. Again we used a past simple form of the verb 'to be.' was or were. The base form of the verb and 'ing.' Was I getting close? Were you running late? Was he taking a bus? Was she playing tennis? Was it snowing? For the plural forms we do the same. Were we going in the right direction? Were you arriving by ferry? Were they eating their lunch? Now let's have a look at the past continuous in negations. Again we use the past simple form of the verb to be. So either was or were but we add 'not' to it contracting it into wasn't or weren't the base form and 'ing.' For example: I wasn't waiting for you You weren't looking for me. He wasn't sleeping late. She wasn't talking on the phone. It wasn't freezing. For the pural forms, We weren't putting up a tent You weren't speaking at the same time They weren't cutting paper. Now let's have a look and when to use a past continuous. First we use the past continuous for a temporary activity in the past. It started in the past and it was finished in the past. I was watching television at that moment. It was raining last night. They were swimming in the river yesterday. We want to emphasize that it lasted for some time. We also use the past continuous for a temporary activity in the past interrupted by a short action. This short action is usually expressed by the past simple. I was watching television when he called. It was raining when the car broke down. They were swimming,, when they saw a crocodile. We also use a past continuous for something that was planned before a certain time in the future. For example: I was flying to Dubai but his meeting was cancelled. Weren't you meeting her at the airport yesterday? They were going to that concert, but her car broke down. I thank you for your attention. False Hadiths And False Rulers Ft Imam Muhammad Al Asi
Imam Muhammad Al Asi previously led the daily and Jum'ah prayers inside the Masjid. His speeches were inspiring, revolutionary and thought provoking, and eventually irritated and threatened the Middle-East Ambassadors who control the Masjid. Finally, the Imam, his family, and other Muslims faithful to the course of Islam were forced out, into the streets. This khutbah originates from the sidewalk across the street from the Islamic Center, currently under seige. He is also the author of the first-ever tafseer of the Qur'an - titled : The Ascendant Qur'an- written directly in the English Language. The Qur'an gained popularity with a wide variety of Muslims, justice seeking groups and sinister rulers. However, this has led to translations and interpretations that fit the different agendas of these wayward rulers and often has meant drifting far from the original meaning of the words. Imam Asi attempts to reverse this trend and in my analysis of his struggle, he has deliberately set out to evacuate these covert assailants on Islam's mission who distort or completely alter the message that the Qur'an actually transmit. 10-30-2015 https://www.icit-digital.org/people/muhammad-h-al-asi The Institute of Contemporary Islamic Thought (ICIT) is an international intellectual centre of the global Islamic movement.[1] It consists of individual activists, journalists and academics from around the world who share a common commitment to developing the social and political ideology of Islam, and promoting their ideas and analysis as an alternative worldview to that of the western civilization. ICIT was established in 1998 to continue the work initiated by the late Dr. Kalim Siddiqui (1931–1996), who was Director of the Muslim Institute in London. Following his death, Dr Kalim Siddiqui's closest associates advanced the work of ICIT. These include Zafar Bangash of Toronto, Canada, who is now Director of the ICIT, Imam Muhammad al-Asi and Imam Abdul Alim Musa of Washington DC, and Iqbal Siddiqui of London, now the editor of the Crescent International news magazine. The ICIT also has affiliates all over the world. These include organizations and contacts in Canada, the US, South Africa, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Australia, and numerous other countries. Many of these are contacts who have been working with the Muslim Institute for over two decades. ICIT activities can be divided into the following six categories: Media; Internet; Publishing; Conferences and Seminars; Teaching and Lecture Courses; and Research.

Image of God
This video traces the idea of humans as co-rulers alongside God, who are commissioned to develop the world and its resources and take it into new horizons. How has this human vocation been compromised by our selfishness and evil, and how did Jesus open up a new way of being human through his life, death, and resurrection?

The French Revolution: Crash Course World History #29
In which John Green examines the French Revolution, and gets into how and why it differed from the American Revolution. Was it the serial authoritarian regimes? The guillotine? The Reign of Terror? All of this and more contributed to the French Revolution not being quite as revolutionary as it could have been. France endured multiple constitutions, the heads of heads of state literally rolled, and then they ended up with a megalomaniacal little emperor by the name of Napoleon. But how did all of this change the world, and how did it lead to other, more successful revolutions around the world? Watch this video and find out. Spoiler alert: Marie Antoinette never said, "Let them eat cake." Sorry. Paper Plate Angles: Reinforcing Angles and Angle Measurement
http://www.familymathnight.com Elementary Mathematics Specialist, Karyn Hodgens, shares a fun and creative way to teach and reinforce angles and angle measurement. This common core mathematics lesson uses simple things like paper plates, rulers, glue, tissue paper, and protractors to have students predict a variety of angle measurements then use the protractor to verify the angles. This is a great problem-solving activity as students work together to determine the exact center of the paper plate. Their communication skills are honed as they share out and justify their solutions. Another great problem-solving exercise has students figure out how to determine the angle measurement of a reflex angle. Revolting Against Oppressive Rulers is Forbidden - Story of Hajaj Bin Yusuf Ath-Thaqafee
From Readings in Elementary Qutubism Narrated By Brother Daawood Adeeb - Prepared by www.SalafiPublications.Com THIS SECT had influence on 'Islamic' insurgent/terror groups in Egypt and elsewhere!! Sayyid Qutb has had influence on Al-Qaeda as was felt through his writing, his followers and especially through his brother, Muhammad Qutb, who edited, published and promoted his brother Sayyid Qutb's works. One of Muhammad Qutb's students and later an ardent follower was Ayman Zawahiri, who went on to become a member of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad terror group and later a mentor of Usama bin Laden and a leading member of al-Qaeda. Zawahiri was first introduced to Qutb by his uncle and maternal family patriarch, Mafouz Azzam, who was very close to Qutb throughout his life. Azzam was Qutb's student, then protégé, then personal lawyer and executor of his estate -- one of the last people to see Qutb before his execution. Zawahiri paid homage to Qutb in his work Knights under the Prophet's Banner. Also Usama Bin Laden was also acquainted with Qutb. A close college friend of bin Laden's, Mohammed Jamal Khalifa, said that bin Laden regularly attended weekly public lectures by Muhammad Qutb. NOTE: Qutubism: The thought and ideology of Sayyid Qutb as found in his most popular woks such as 'Ma'aalim fit-Tareeq' (Milestones) his Tafsir of the Quran 'az-Zilaal', 'al-Adaalah al-Ijtimaai'yyah' (Social Justice) and others. NOTE: Qutubiyyah, Qutubiyyoon: The sect known as "the Qutubis". NOTE: Qutubi, Qutubist: A person who subscribes to the thought and ideology of Qutubism. Different extremes exist as to the degree and extent that a Qutubi subscribes to the thought and ideology of Qutubism. NOTE: Sayyid Qutb - More of a literary writer than scholar, Sayyid Qutb made very many serious mistakes in creed and introduced ideas that have led to the birth of destructive political movements.

The History of Hindu India (Part Four) was developed by the editors of Hinduism Today magazine in collaboration with Dr. Shiva Bajpai, Professor Emeritus of History, California State University Northridge. It is intended to provide an authentic presentation of the history of India and Hinduism for use in American middle and high school classes, as well as Hindu temple study groups and general presentations on the Hindu religion and history. This documentary is based on the fourth chapter of the textbook, "The History of Hindu India," published in 2011. It covers Indian history from 1850 to 1947, from when the British Crown took over direct control of India from the East India Company to Independence. Under British rule, economic exploitation of the subcontinent increased, resulting in frequent famine and deprivation across the once wealthy land. A determined and mostly nonviolent freedom movement emerged and finally succeeded, resulting in the formation of modern India and Muslim Pakistan in 1947. For more information and for class lesson plans based on the book, visit www.hinduismtoday.com/education/. This documentary is directed and produced by Sushma Khadepaun. Narrated by Roger (Raj) Narayan. Funded by the Uberoi Foundation, Institute for Curriculum Advancement, this film may be freely distributed for educational purposes.
