How To Cure Lactose Intolerance Naturally

I drink milk and other dairy products every day and feel great! Learn how I reversed my lactose and dairy intolerance naturally! Are You Buying FAKE COLOSTRUM POWDER? Colostrum is the ULTIMATE gut healing food/supplement but... colostrum is 'LEGALLY defined' as milk from the first 6 milkings. This is plain false. The TRUE definition of colostrum comes from the FIRST milking. I have seen first hand (while working on the farm) the difference between the 1st milking and the 2nd milking: the 1st is very thick and the 2nd has the consistency of milk. Colostrum is 25% solids 6 hours after birth and 10% solids 48 hours after birth. This means you are getting double, triple, if not quadruple the nutrients and health/healing benefits with real colostrum. To your gut health! 6 Greatest Probiotic Foods You Should Be Eating More Often For Healthy Gut

03:19
6 of the greatest probiotic foods you should be eating more of are: 1.Fermented Cod Liver Oil You’re probably already familiar with the many health benefits of fish oil, however fermented cod liver-oil is a whole different experience. This is one of the oldest “super foods” on the market. It dates back thousands of years and was used by many different cultures. Fermented cod liver-oil is not only chock full of probiotics, it also supplies a massive amount of Vitamin-D – a nutrient in which an alarming number of people are lacking due to our tendency to avoid sun exposure. 2.Buttermilk Another lacto-fermented dairy product, buttermilk is incredibly healthy. Because the lactose protein in buttermilk has already been converted into lactic acid by our beneficial bacteria, this drink is safe for lactose-intolerant individuals.  It is also low in fat and calories, but packed with vitamin B12, riboflavin, calcium, potassium, and protein. Due to its impressive nutritional roster, buttermilk is great for easing an acid stomach, improving digestion, and boosting energy levels. 3.Apple Cider Vinegar Praise for apple cider vinegar is being sung with gusto all around the world and in every natural health nook and cranny on the internet.  While the health benefits of this incredible “super food” have become fairly common knowledge, what you may not know is that raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar is also a natural probiotic. Use raw apple-cider-vinegar to add flavor to salads and other veggies, sprinkle it over snacks like popcorn, or add it to beverages like tomato-juice and tea for a powerful full-body health boost! 4.Kimchi Originating in Korea, the history of kimchi – a fermentation method involving the use of salt and other spices to preserve vegetables such as beans, radishes, and cabbage for consumption during the country’s long, cold winters. Despite the countless variations on this traditional Korean staple, all forms of kimchi have one thing in common: they are all incredibly healthy probiotic foods.  Depending on the vegetables included in kimchi (cabbage is the most popular) kimchi may also contain large amounts of protein, vitamins and minerals in addition to being naturally probiotic. 5.Sauerkraut Another dish of fermented cabbage, sauerkraut originated in Germany then quickly spread throughout other parts of the world.  Packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidant, in addition to its probiotic qualities, sauerkraut makes a delicious and healthy accompaniment to poultry dishes.  Just be sure to choose a raw sauerkraut as many commercially-available products have been heated to extend their shelf-life, a process which destroys most (if not all) of the healthy bacteria contained in the kraut. 6.Kombucha Kombucha is an effervescent fermentation of black tea that is started by using a SCOBY, also known as a symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast. Kombucha has been around for over 2,000 years, originating around Japan. Many claims have been made about kombucha, but its primary health benefits include digestive support, increased energy and liver detoxification. Other popular probiotic food options include: yogurt, kefir, Tempeh, Miso and Unpasteurized Cheese. Food Allergy vs. Food Intolerance | Stomach Problems

01:01
Watch more How to Prevent Stomach Problems & Digestive Disorders videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/504386-Food-Allergy-vs-Food-Intolerance-Stomach-Problems So, a lot of times, people get confused between food allergies and food intolerances, but they're two very different entities. A food allergy, is a clear allergy. That means, if we take some food that we are allergic to, we can get anaphylaxis or hives or we can have our throat closing up, that's a true allergy. Now food intolerances, just mean that we don't tolerate the food, so we have more of a digestive system reaction. So, we may have some nausea, we may have some pain, may have some indigestion when we consume those foods, but we don't actually have a real allergic reaction, where we need to worry about a life threatening reaction.

Milk Contains Dangerous Antibiotics and Steroids | పాలు ఇంత ప్రమాదమా ?

04:09
A glass of cold, fresh milk is an inviting wholesome image seen daily in the media. This marketing image belies the fact that modern milk production is a cornerstone of processed food production. Unless you purchase organic milk, the milk you buy in the supermarket or at the corner grocer is no longer “natural,” but undergoes a host of processes including pasteurization and homogenization. The resulting product is a pale image of its former self, its digestibility and nutritional value having been compromised, often contributing to human ailments ranging from lactose intolerance and heart disease to life-threatening allergies. What follows are some problems brought about by conventional dairy processing. ఈ వీడియో మీకు నచ్చితే తప్పకుండా షేర్ చేయండి .. The Antibiotic Nuclear Time Bomb

Antibiotic resistance is a huge problem! Antibiotics are supposed to kill bacteria, but in the end are they going to kill us? Evolution of bacteria with immunity to antibiotics has plenty of causes, but livestock overuse and human overuse of antibiotics lead to many issues for people who actually need the antibacterials. Antibiotic soaps are BAD too!

Cats Prefer Their Antibiotics Mixed Into Yogurt

01:14
I've been having to take a lot of medication lately, first because I had an infection, then because I'd just had surgery. Like any sensible cat, I hate having my mouth pried open and things thrown down my throat. Even my veterinarian doesn't get away with that. Fortunately, my humans figured out how to grind up my pills and mix them in with yogurt. I LOVE yogurt! (Lots of cats wind up developing lactose intolerance as they get older, but I never did, probably in part because I kept eating milk, cheese, ice cream and other dairy products regularly enough that my body never stopped being used to digesting them. Even some cats -- and humans -- who are lactose intolerant can still handle yogurt, especially in small quantities.) It's a good idea to eat yogurt while taking antibiotics, for humans as well as cats, so that all the "good" bacteria in our digestive systems, like acidophilus, doesn't get killed off. The yogurt I was served in this video was Stonyfield Farm's peach-flavored YoBaby. Mmm, organic cream-on-top really helps the medicine go down! Om nom nom nom.

What To Eat During Loose Motion | Home Remedies For Lose Motion And Diarrhea

05:06
How To Cure Loose Motion. Home remedies for loose motion in adults In simple terms, loose motion means you are having watery stools that occur more frequently than usual. It is also known as diarrhea, which most people have experienced. It can be acute or chronic. Please watch this video until the end to know the complete information. This common problem occurs when the food and fluids you ingest start passing too quickly or in too large an amount through the colon. Along with frequent loose, watery stools, you may even have symptoms like abdominal cramps, abdominal pain, a fever, bloating and weakness. Due to having too frequent bowel movements, there may also be itching, burning, soreness or pain in the rectal area. There can be many reasons behind this sudden change in your bowel movements, including a viral infection, bacterial infection, parasitic attack, food poisoning, a side effect of antibiotics and lactose intolerance, to name a few. In most cases, loose motion last a couple of days. However, if it continues for a week or more, it is important to consult a doctor. It can be a sign of a serious digestive disorder. Plus, it can lead to dehydration and weakness, which is not good for your overall health. To reduce the frequency of loose motion and bring your bowel movements to regularity, there are many simple and easy home remedies. 1. Yogurt. Yogurt is a good source of probiotics-strains of bacteria that are similar to the healthy bacteria normally found in your digestive system. These bacteria help restore the good bacteria in your gut. This in turn helps fight the diarrhea-causing germs in your digestive tract. A 2010 study published in Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews states that, when used alongside rehydration therapy, probiotics have beneficial effects in shortening the duration and reducing stool frequency in acute infectious diarrhea. When it comes to probiotics for diarrhea, yogurt is the best option. It promotes a healthy environment of microorganisms in the digestive tract for better digestion. Eat 2 to 3 cups of yogurt a day when suffering from loose motion. 2. Apple Cider Vinegar. Apple cider vinegar is a great remedy to stop loose motion. This natural antibiotic helps cure diarrhea by killing the diarrhea-causing organisms in the intestine. Its high pectin content soothes the irritated lining of the colon. Plus, it helps maintain proper pH level in the stomach, which in turn helps restore regularity. Mix 1 to 2 tablespoons of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar in a glass of lukewarm water. Add a little honey and stir. Drink it 2 or 3 times a day until your condition improves. 3. Bananas. Both raw and ripe bananas can help treat diarrhea due to their pectin content. This water-soluble fiber helps absorb fluids in the intestines, which in turn helps add bulk to the stool. Being high in potassium, it even helps replace electrolytes that may be lost during diarrhea. A 2001 study published in Gastroenterology found that the pectin in green bananas is useful in the dietary management of persistent diarrhea. It can reduce the amount of stool, frequency of vomiting and duration of diarrhea, as well as reduce the need for oral rehydration solutions or intravenous fluids. Another 2012 study published in the Journal of Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry also confirms that intake of bananas is beneficial for people suffering from diarrhea. When dealing with loose motions, eat a ripe banana every few hours. You can even have ripe banana and yogurt smoothies, 2 or 3 times a day. 4. Stay Hydrated When suffering from loose motions, there is a high chance of becoming severely dehydrated. Hence, it is important to take necessary steps to stay hydrated, as even minor dehydration can worsen your condition. Sip boiled or filtered water throughout the day. If going out, do not forget to carry your own water bottle. Coconut water also helps keep you hydrated when experiencing loose motion. Drinking 2 to 3 cups of green tea is also beneficial. You can also drink pulp-free juices, clear chicken broths and caffeine free soda. Electrolyte powder mixed in water is another good option. Thanks for watching. Please like, comment, subscribe and share my videos with your friends and family. I am amy. And i will see you all in my next video.

5 Types Of Bad Breath—And What They Say About Your Health

03:08
5 Types Of Bad Breath—And What They Say About Your Health Chances are, you already know the basics when it comes to keeping your breath minty-fresh. You brush, floss, and maybe do a quick rinse with mouthwash a few times a day. You wouldn't dream of ordering garlic bread on a first date, and you always pop a stick of sugar-free gum shortly after downing your morning coffee. But let's say you do all those things, yet your breath still stinks. That's the case more often than you might think, as poor oral hygiene is not the most common cause of bad breath. Most chronic bad breath is actually due to dry mouth: When you don't have enough moisture, the bacteria that live in your mouth thrive. When you sleep at night there's little or no saliva production. That's what causes dryness and morning breath. If morning breath is your only issue, you don't really have a problem. But many people have dry mouth that lingers all day, often thanks to a medication they're taking. Seventy-five percent of prescription drugs, including antidepressants, antihistamines, and blood pressure drugs, have dry mouth as a side effect. So if you find people frequently backing away when you're talking, ask your doc if your meds might be to blame. If so, sipping more water, chewing sugarless gum, or maybe switching to a different drug could help. In other instances, chronic bad breath could signal that something is amiss elsewhere in your body. And—believe it or not—the specific scent may provide clues that can help your doctor or dentist figure out what's wrong. If your breath smells like mothballs... You might have allergies, post-nasal drip, or a sinus infection. When you have chronic sinus issues, the bacteria in your mouth can convert the proteins in mucus into a compound called skatole. Taking allergy medication, rinsing your sinuses with a neti pot, or starting antibiotics should help. If your breath smells fruity... You might have diabetes. Sugar in your bloodstream normally heads into your cells, where it's used for energy. If that doesn't happen, blood sugar rises, and your cells start burning fat for energy. The byproduct of that process is ketones, which can make your breath smell fruity. If your breath smells like sour milk... You might be lactose intolerant. This odor might indicate that you're not breaking down the protein in dairy proteins properly. Of course, you'll also likely have other symptoms, such as diarrhea, cramps, and gas after indulging in milk products. If your breath smells like a dirty diaper... You might have a tonsil stone. Bacteria and debris can get stuck in your tonsils and form a visible "stone" in the crevices. It's really rotten, like a dirty diaper, your primary care doctor can probably remove the offending particle with a swab or forceps. If your breath smells like something's rotting... You might have a lung disease. A very foul odor—"much worse than traditional bad breath"—could be a sign of a lung problem ranging from an infection to cancer. Interestingly, breath tests designed to identify the odors associated with cancer are currently in the works. If you suspect you might have any problem with your lungs, see your doctor for an exam. After listening with a stethoscope, she might refer you for blood work, a chest x-ray, or other tests.

Learn Why Milk Could Be Killing You

07:55
Milk is one of the controversial products of today. There’re many people who drink it, but also many who warn against the side effects of its consumption. On the one hand, milk is important to consume. Calcium helps build stronger bones and teeth. Milk products are the primary source of calcium in American diets. Diets that provide 3 cups or the equivalent of milk products per day can improve bone mass. Diets rich in potassium may help to maintain healthy blood pressure. Milk products, especially yogurt and milk, provide potassium. Vitamin D functions in the body to maintain proper levels of calcium and phosphorous, thereby helping to build and maintain bones. Milk that is fortified with vitamin D is a good source of this nutrient. Other sources include vitamin D-fortified yogurt and vitamin D-fortified ready-to-eat breakfast cereals. Low-fat or fat-free milk products provide little or no fat. On the other hand, there’re many people who suffer from lactose intolerance. The lactose in cow’s milk can be difficult for people to digest, resulting in nausea, cramps, gas, bloating, and diarrhea. Difficulty with dairy digestion can develop later in life and result in progressively worsening symptoms. Also, Cows are often pumped full of antibiotics to keep them alive and producing milk in filthy factory farm conditions. We can thank this rampant overuse of them for the surge in antibiotic-resistant bacteria. When humans are infected by these superbugs, antibiotics at best have decreased effectiveness and at worst are powerless. A single serving of whole milk can contain more than 20 percent of the recommended daily allowance of saturated fat. If you consume three servings of whole milk, you’re already at 60 percent for the day—even before eating any food. Cheese is even worse: Harvard reports that pizza and cheese are the biggest food sources of saturated fat in the American diet. Want to know about other side effects of milk consumption? What is a prebiotic and probiotic? Prebiotics are nondigestible carbohydrates that act as food for probiotics. When probiotics and prebiotics are combined, they form a synbiotic. Fermented dairy products, such as yogurt and kefir, are considered synbiotic because they contain live bacteria and the fuel they need to thrive. Do probiotics have side effects? Probiotics' side effects, if they occur, tend to be mild and digestive (such as gas or bloating). More serious effects have been seen in some people. Probiotics might theoretically cause infections that need to be treated with antibiotics, especially in people with underlying health conditions. Do probiotics help fight infection? Probiotics vs. Antibiotics. Unlike antibiotics, which means “to destroy life,” probiotics literally means “life giving.” In more practical terms, antibiotics destroy without prejudice — killing the bad bacteria that can cause infection, while also destroying the good bacteria that help fight infection. Can you get diarrhea from probiotics? While probiotics are generally well tolerated, including probiotic-rich foods or adding probiotic supplements might infrequently cause side effects. Although diarrhea is not a typical side effect, probiotics can sometimes cause related symptoms such as abdominal discomfort, bloating or gas. Do probiotics make you feel bloated? In the short-term, adding probiotics to your diet may cause gas, flatulence, belching and bloating. If you have irritable bowel syndrome, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth or fructose malabsorption, adding probiotics to your diet is likely to worsen your bloating. What is a prebiotic food? The best natural sources of prebiotics include: acacia gum (or gum arabic) raw chicory root. raw Jerusalem artichoke. raw dandelion greens. raw garlic. raw leeks. raw or cooked onions. raw jicama. What is a prebiotic fiber? In short, the prebiotic is a specialized plant fiber that beneficially nourishes the good bacteria already in the large bowel or colon. While probiotics introduce good bacteria into the gut, prebiotics act as a fertilizer for the good bacteria that's already there. What does the lactobacillus do? Lactobacillus is a type of bacteria. There are lots of different species of lactobacillus. These are "friendly" bacteria that normally live in our digestive, urinary, and genital systems without causing disease. Lactobacillus is also in some fermented foods like yogurt and in dietary supplements. What are probiotics used for in adults? Probiotics have been used to treat bowel problems (such as diarrhea, irritable bowel), eczema, vaginal yeast infections, lactose intolerance, and urinary tract infections. Probiotics are available in foods (such as yogurt, milk, juices, soy beverages) and as dietary supplements (capsules, tablets, powders). Do probiotics kill off bad bacteria? Probiotics and fecal transplants can help restore the healthy bacteria that antibiotics can kill off. Antibiotics can save live... 😍😍😍😍😍 Like, Share and Subscribe Our Channel if you think these video is informative and helpful. Is Dairy Really Good For You? | #AskWardee 077

Is Dairy Really Good For You? | #AskWardee 077 | Transcript at http://TradCookSchool.com/aw077 | FREE Thick Raw Milk Yogurt Recipe http://TradCookSchool.com/freeyogurt It’s frustrating… One person says milk and dairy products are good for you, others say to eat only raw dairy, and still others say to avoid dairy completely. Who do you believe? Who do you follow? You might already know that I’m in the middle camp (consume only raw dairy)… However, I am 100% in favor of doing what’s best for your body. I’m not going to throw dairy under the bus with a blanket statement that it’s all bad, yet I do think it’s possible that some people should avoid it for health reasons. **The Question Stephanie L. asks: "I keep going back and forth on dairy, having read The Untold Story of Milk by Ron Schmid a few years ago. I know that raw milk is good for you, but so many of the health summits I’ve listened to online the past couple years repeatedly state for optimal health, “get off sugar, gluten, dairy, etc…” Can dairy truly benefit us? My husband is lactose intolerant which weighs in, too. Having read a little from the Fermentation purchase I made last year, maybe we could overcome that." ** My Answer: Yes, Raw Dairy Is Good For You*! Those health researchers are mostly speaking to the general public who are consuming conventional dairy. Ok, yes, maybe in some cases, they’re speaking to an audience that is consuming raw dairy (or fermented raw dairy like yogurt or kefir). Unfortunately, they don’t qualify their statements as whether they’re referring to conventional or artisan dairy. So, I take their recommendations with a grain of salt. Because… if they are talking about conventional dairy, they’re absolutely right. Conventional dairy should be avoided as much as possible. It’s no longer a real food! The animals are raised in abhorrent, sick conditions; the milk is often laced with pesticides, GMOs, antibiotics, and hormones. Then, it’s pasteurized and/or homogenized. This destroys enzymes, probiotics, and vitamins — it’s totally denatured. On the other hand, raw dairy — especially pasture-raised raw dairy — is abundant with probiotics and enzymes. The notable enzyme is lactase, which is essential for digesting the milk sugar (lactose). Pasture-raised dairy, from animals that are healthfully feasting on rapidly growing green grass, is also rich with healthy saturated fats, Omega-3s, and the fat-soluble vitamins A, D and K2. **When Should Raw Dairy Be Avoided? Although I’m not a doctor and can’t give medical advice, I know of some situations where people are advised to avoid dairy (even raw) for good reasons. Perhaps the individual is trying to heal the gut… Lactose (milk sugar) feeds undesirable organisms and therefore should be avoided completely. Fermented raw dairy, however, with lactose reduced 100% — such as 24-hour yogurt or kefir — might be fine to introduce! Be sure to follow the recommendations of your natural physician or healing protocol. Casein (milk protein) can be hard to digest for someone with compromised digestion. Therefore, to heal and reduce irritation, that person avoids milk and dairy. Children with autism often do better when their parents eliminate food allergens in the diet such as milk protein and/or milk sugar. People with health conditions that involve insulin sensitivity, like diabetes or PCOS, often need to scale back or eliminate the actual milk in favor of long-fermented dairy with lactose reduction. Someone who is simply allergic to casein or lactose (or other components of milk) will feel better not eating dairy — raw or otherwise. Finally, there is a genetic defect which affects the protein in the milk of conventional cows such as Holsteins. While heritage cows are not always free from this defect, many are. Holstein cows’ milk protein is called A1, and heritage cows’ milk protein is called A2. Some people cannot consume A1 milk, but they can consume A2 milk. **What About Lactose Intolerance? Often, lactose-intolerant individuals are able to consume raw dairy because it “comes with” lactase, the enzyme required to digest it. This lactase is destroyed during pasteurization, yet abundant in raw milk. Or, if this person still has trouble with even raw milk, they could add these lactase drops to raw milk. Lactose can be naturally reduced through culturing — especially by making raw milk yogurt that ferments for at least 24 hours. 13 Super-Healthy Probiotic Foods You Should Be Consuming and The Amazing Benefits.

09:14
13 Super-Healthy Probiotic Foods You Should Be Consuming and The Amazing Benefits. We know what probiotics are. They are healthy gut bacteria that boost nutrient absorption and offer other important benefits. But the truth is, not all of us are aware of the several ways probiotics can do us good. That is what this post is all about – probiotics and the everyday foods that are rich in them. What Are Probiotics? How Do They Work. Probiotics are the good bacteria your body needs. Though researchers are trying to understand how they work, there is some information we have. If you happen to lose good bacteria from your system (which happens when you take antibiotics), probiotics replace them. Probiotics also balance the good and bad bacteria in your system, enabling your body to work the way it should. And more interestingly, there are different types of probiotics. What Are The Different Types Of Probiotics. Though there are several types of probiotics, most of them fall into two groups. Lactobacillus, which is a common probiotic you will find in fermented foods like yogurt. This one helps people with diarrhea and those that can’t digest lactose. Bifidobacterium, which is a less common type, is also found in some dairy foods. This type eases the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome. What Are The Top Foods That Contain Probiotics. 1. Yogurt. Yogurt is one of the best sources of probiotics. It is made from milk that is fermented by bifidobacteria and lactic acid bacteria. More interestingly, yogurt is a better option than milk for people who are lactose intolerant. And it has been associated with improved bone health and blood pressure levels,. But keep in mind that not all yogurts contain probiotics. Which is why you need to choose yogurt with live cultures. 2. Tempeh. This is a fermented product from soybeans. It has become popular across the world as a high-protein substitute for meat. What is more interesting is that the fermentation process of tempeh generates vitamin B12, which is not available in soybeans. 3. Kefir. This is prepared by adding kefir grains to cow or goat milk. Kefir grains are cultures of lactic acid bacteria that look a little like cauliflower. Research reveals how kefir can help improve bone health and even treat digestive problems,. 4. Natto. This is another fermented soybean dish, quite popular in Japan. It contains Bacillus subtilis, a potent probiotic that helps boost heart health, amongst offering other benefits. Natto also contains nattokinase, a powerful enzyme with anti-inflammatory properties. 5. Kimchi. Cabbage is the most important ingredient in kimchi, and it is a popular Korean dish. This one contains Lactobacillus kimchii, lactic acid bacteria that benefit digestive health. 6. Raw Cheese. This is especially true with cheese made from the milk of cows and goats – and they are high in probiotics, some of which include Bifidus, Thermophillus, and Acidophilus. If you are buying cheese from the market – here is a quick tip. Always buy cheese that is unpasteurized and raw as only these contain probiotics. 7. Apple Cider Vinegar. Apple cider vinegar has several benefits, some of which include cutting the risk of diabetes, regulating cholesterol levels, and aiding weight loss. The vinegar is also a good source of probiotics. 8. Sauerkraut. This is nothing but finely shredded cabbage fermented by lactic acid bacteria. It is quite rich in probiotics, why is why it is often used on top of sausages and even as a side dish. Research suggests that it also contains good amounts of fiber, and vitamins B, C, and K. Just ensure you go for unpasteurized sauerkraut. 9. Kombucha. Kombucha is black or green tea that is fermented. Having originated in Japan, this tea has been around for over 2,000 years. Kombucha is fermented with bacteria and yeast and hence has probiotic benefits. Studies also show how this tea can offer digestive support and help the liver detox. 10. Kvass. Kvass is one fermented beverage quite popular since the ancient times. Traditionally, it was prepared by fermenting rye or barley, but in the recent times, it is made using beets and other root veggies like carrots. 11. Buttermilk. The most common buttermilk is the liquid that is left over after making butter. This is the only version rich with probiotics. Apart from being rich in probiotics, buttermilk is also replete with calcium, phosphorus, and vitamin B12. 12. Gherkin Pickles. These are cucumbers pickled in a solution of water and salt. They are left to ferment for a while, and it is the lactic acid bacteria that offer the benefits. These pickles are also low in calories and rich in vitamin K, which can boost bone health. But they also contain sodium, so consume them in moderation. Also, pickles made with vinegar do not contain probiotics – keep that in mind too.

How The Gut Microbiota Affects Our Health with Dr. Erica & Dr. Justin Sonnenburg

Dr. Justin Sonnenburg is an associate professor of microbiology and immunology at Stanford and Dr. Erica Sonnenburg is a senior research scientist in the Sonnenburg lab where they the research many aspects the interaction between diet with the 100 trillion or so bacteria in the gut (specifically the colon) and how this impacts the health of the host (which in this case is a laboratory research mouse). In this episode we discuss the pivotal role fiber plays in fueling good bacteria in the gut to produce compounds that regulate the immune system including increasing the number of T regulatory cells, which are specialized types of immune cells that keep the immune system in check and prevent autoimmune responses, and how these compounds also increase other types of blood cells in the body in a process known as hematopoiesis. We also talk about how the lack of fiber in the typical American diet actually starves these good bacteria of their food. This has an effect not only on the immune system and autoimmune diseases but also results in the breakdown of the gut barrier, which leads to widespread inflammation and inflammatory diseases. Lastly, in this podcast, Dr. Erica Sonnenburg talks about how C-sections, have a negative effect on the infant’s gut due to the lack of exposure to bacteria present in the mother’s vaginal canal, and how the use of formula deprives the infant not only from the good bacteria present in Mom’s gut but also from special carbohydrates in breast milk that are good for the infant gut flora known as HMOs or human milk oligosaccharides. ▶︎ Get the show notes! https://www.foundmyfitness.com/episodes/the-sonnenburgs Links related to the Sonnenburgs: ▶︎ http://sonnenburglab.stanford.edu/ ▶︎ http://www.facebook.com/thegoodgut ▶︎http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1594206287/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=1594206287&linkCode=as2&tag=foun06-20&linkId=IOKAGDTRCL47XQN6 Links related to FoundMyFitness: ▶︎ Join my weekly newsletter: http://www.foundmyfitness.com/?sendme=nutrigenomics ▶︎ Crowdfund more videos: http://www.patreon.com/foundmyfitness ▶︎ Subscribe on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=foundmyfitness ▶︎ Subscribe to the podcast: http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/foundmyfitness/id818198322 ▶︎ Twitter: http://twitter.com/foundmyfitness ▶︎ Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/foundmyfitness ▶︎ Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/foundmyfitness

Dairy and Milk sugar Lactose and Galactose

06:05
Daniel W. Cramer of Harvard Medical School and his coworkers. Five years ago, Cramer linked galactose consumption with increased risk of ovarian cancer. To look for hints that this sugar might also affect fecundity. His team compared published data from 36 countries on rates of fertility, per capita milk consumption, and hypolactasia -- the adult inability to digest lactose. In the February 1 American Journal of Epidemiology, they now report a correlation between high rates of milk consumption and waning fertility, begining in women just 20 to 24 years old. The strength of that association -- and the rate of fertility decline -- grew with each successively older age grou studied. In Thailand, for instance -- where 98 percent of the adults are hypolactasic -- average fertility in women 35 to 39 is only 26% lower than peak rates (at age 25 to 29). By contrast, in Australia and the United Kingdon, where hypolactasia affects only about 5% of adults, average fertility by 35 to 39 is fully 82% below peak rates. Cataracts: Cataracts are also linked to dairy products. The galactose also appears to damage the lens of the eye, leading to cataracts. Digestive Disease and Science 1982;27;257-64. Lactose Intolerance: Food Allergies: Milk is on the most common food allergies.(ie. migraies and asthma) Toxins: Like other products from animals, breast secretions contain frequent contaminants, from pesticides to drugs. About a third of all milk products are contaminated with antibiotic traces. Milk will produce lower abdominal cramps, gas and watery stools in lactase deficient individuals. Lactase Deficiency in Healthy Adults: Danes 2% Finns 18% Indians 50 Israeli Jews 58 Peruvians 70 American Blacks 70 Ashkenazi Jew 78 Arabs 78 Greenland Eskimos 80 Taiwanese 85 Greek Cypriots 85 Japanese 85 Thais 90 Filipinos 90 African Blacks 90-100 Lactos metabolism: Lactose (with Lactase) broken down to two parts, Glucose and Galactose. Glucose is readily used by the body. The galactose (with enzyme B-Galactosidase) is converted to Glucose.

6 Steps to Heal Leaky Gut and Autoimmune Disease Naturally

05:47
Leaky gut syndrome is a condition that millions of people have, and don’t even know it. From the sound of it, you might think leaky gut syndrome only hurts the digestive system, but it can lead to many other health conditions. Think of the lining of your digestive tract like a net with very small holes in it that only lets some things pass through. Your gut lining works as a wall to keep out the bigger pieces that can harm your system. When someone has leaky gut, the “net” in the digestive tract gets damaged, which causes bigger holes to form in the net, so things that usually can’t pass through are now able to. Some of the things that can now pass through are proteins like gluten, bad bacteria, and undigested food pieces. Toxic waste can also leak from the inside of your intestinal wall into your bloodstream, causing an immune reaction. This leads to swelling throughout your system and causes things like: Bloating Food sensitivities Thyroid conditions Fatigue Joint pain Headaches Skin issues Digestive problems Weight gain Syndrome X If left unfixed, it can lead to worse health problems like inflammatory bowel disease (IBS), arthritis, eczema, psoriasis, depression, anxiety, migraine headaches, muscle pain, and chronic fatigue. Leaky gut syndrome has been linked to other psychological disorders such as anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. So, in many cases, if you can heal the gut, you can heal the brain. Studies show that the cause of your food allergies, low energy, joint pain, thyroid disease, autoimmune conditions, and slow metabolism could be leaky gut symptom spreading through your body. Another problem with leaky gut is that it can stop important minerals and nutrients, like zinc, iron, and vitamin B12, from being taken in. There are four main causes of leaky gut, including: 1. Poor Diet Foods that have a lot of lectins are a bigger problem. Some of the lectins and foods that cause leaky gut are wheat, rice, spelt, and soy. While you are trying to cure leaky gut, stay away from all grains, especially those that contain gluten like wheat. Cow’s milk is another food that can cause leaky gut. The component of dairy that will harm your gut is the protein A1 casein. Also, the pasteurization process will kill important enzymes, making sugars like lactose very hard to digest. Sugar is another thing that can harm your digestive system. Sugar will feed the growth of yeast, candida, and bad bacteria, which will hurt your gut even more. 2. Chronic Stress Stress weakens your immune system over time, which ruins the body’s power to fight bad bacteria and viruses. This leads to swelling and leaky gut. To lessen stress, it’s a good idea to get more sleep, add fun into your week, and practice meditation. 3. Toxins We meet up with over 80,000 chemicals and toxins every single year, but the ones that cause leaky gut are antibiotics, pesticides, tap water, aspirin, and anti-inflammatory drugs. 4. Dysbiosis One of the main causes of leaky gut is a condition called dysbiosis, which means uneven levels of good and bad bacteria in your gut. Using too much prescription antibiotic drugs, tap water with chlorine and fluoride, and the lack of probiotic- rich foods adds to the unevenness of good and bad bacteria. If you have leaky gut syndrome, you should think of trying a leaky gut diet. Here are six foods and supplements to heal your leaky gut. #1 Bone Broth #2 Raw Cultured Dairy #3 Fermented Vegetables #4 Coconut Products #5 Sprouted Seeds #6 Supplements If you like the video, give it a thumbs up and share it with your friends! MILK THE DEADLY POISON!

05:42
This is a 1998 Hard Copy Special on MILK. What the government doesn't want you to know about milk. Don't drink milk, we know it contains fat and cholesterol but did you know it contains the protein CASEIN (which is basically a glue which leads to a lot of mucous build up and other health problems like asthma and congestion), milk also contains.. powerful growth hormones, viruses, a host of deadly chemical and biological bacterial agents, bovine proteins that cause allergies, insecticides, antibiotics, all this can trigger the growth of cancer and contributes to today's problem of obese children (ever notice why young girls breasts develop faster?). Cow's milk is the number one allergic food in this country. It has been well documented as a cause in diarrhea, cramps, bloating, gas, gastrointestinal bleeding, iron-deficiency anemia, skin rashes, atherosclerosis, and acne. It is the primary cause of recurrent ear infections in children. It has also been linked to insulin dependent diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, infertility, and leukemia. Milk and refined sugar make two of the largest contributions to food induced ill health in our country.

Why Do I Keep Farting: What It Means and How to Stop It

11:05
Why Do I Keep Farting: What It Means and How to Stop It Why Do I Keep Farting? Whether they’re loud or silent, stinky, or odorless, everyone farts. Doctors say the average person farts anywhere from 5 to 15 times per day. Farting is a normal part of digestion that reflects the activity of the bacteria in your gut. You might also notice that you fart more when you eat certain foods that are more difficult to digest, such as beans or raw vegetables. While farting every day is normal, farting all the time is not. Excessive farting, also called flatulence, can make you feel uncomfortable and self-conscious. It might also be a sign of a health problem. You have excessive flatulence if you fart more than 20 times per day. In most cases, excessive farting can be controlled with changes to your diet and lifestyle. But in some cases, it’s necessary to seek out medical attention. What should you do about your excessive flatulence? Here’s what you need to know: What causes a person to fart more than normal? As you swallow a piece of food, mouthful of water, or simply your own saliva, you also swallow some air. This air builds up in your digestive system. More gas builds up when you digest food. Your body works to get rid of this gas either by farting or burping. All of this is normal. Your farts might be loud or silent. They might be stinky or they might be odorless. Stinky farts are often caused by: eating high-fiber foods having a food intolerance taking certain medications such as antibiotics being constipated a bacterial buildup in your digestive tract Very rarely, stinky farts are caused by colon cancer. But what causes a person to fart more than usual? Some common causes include: Hard-to-digest foods Some foods are more difficult for your body to digest than others. These foods often contain high amounts of fiber or certain kinds of sugars that’re hard for the body to process. Some people may be more affected by some foods than others. Some foods that commonly cause excessive gas include: beans lentils cabbage broccoli cauliflower bok choy Brussels sprouts bran dairy products containing lactose, such as milk or cheese fructose, found in some fruits and often used as a sweetener in soft drinks and candy sorbitol, a sugar substitute found in candies and artificial sweeteners carbonated beverages, such as soda and beer wheat Digestive disorders Some digestive disorders that cause excessive farting include: autoimmune pancreatitis celiac disease Crohn’s disease diabetes dumping syndrome eating disorders gastroesophageal reflux disease gastroparesis inflammatory bowel disease irritable bowel syndrome lactose intolerance peptic ulcer ulcerative colitis These digestive disorders interfere with normal digestion, placing stress on your digestive system, and often result in excessive farting. Stress Some people experience symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome — which includes excessive farting — when stressed. Some people may also engage in habits that cause excessive farting when they’re stressed, such as smoking, chewing gum, eating sweets or drinking alcohol. Constipation The more time food waste spends in your colon, the more time it has to ferment. This often leads to very frequent and stinky farts. Changes in the amount or type of bacteria in your digestive tract Antibiotics or consuming food tainted with bacteria can wreak havoc on your digestive tract, causing excessive farting. What can be done to prevent excess farting? No matter the cause of your excess farting, there are some things you can do today to try to get it under control. Some good strategies include: Avoid foods you know usually cause you to fart. You might find it helpful to keep a food journal and note which foods cause you the least and most amounts of gas. Stick to eating foods that cause you the least amount of gas. Try eating more frequent and smaller meals throughout the day. This reduces the amount of stress on your digestive system, hopefully reducing the amount of gas you experience. Eat and drink more slowly. Eating and drinking fast increases the amount of air you swallow. Eating and drinking more slowly can reduce this and hopefully reduce how much you fart. Exercise regularly to prevent gas buildup in your digestive tract. Healthy adults should get at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity per day. Eat fewer fatty foods. These foods slow digestion and give food in your digestive tract more time to ferment, resulting in excessive gas. Try an over-the-counter gas remedy. Medications containing simethicone, such as Gas-X or Mylanta Gas, are designed to break up gas bubbles in the digestive tract. Medications such as Beano are meant to decrease the amount of gas produced during the body’s digestion of beans and other high-fiber foods.

Why Most Dairy Isn't Healthy for You

03:01
Sign up for the Bulletproof Diet book list, and receive a free preview of the 1st chapter of the Bulletproof Diet Book as soon as it's ready! http://bulletproofdietbook.com/ Dairy is one of the most controversial and confusing food groups, but the simple truth is that the vast majority of dairy is not healthy for you. Many people have allergies or sensitivities to dairy proteins (whey, casein) and sugars (lactose), and they can be a very inflammatory food that causes cravings and a decrease in performance. Most dairy is produced from unhealthy grain-fed cows that are given antibiotics and hormones, and then the dairy products are pasteurized, homogenized and loaded with additives. Organic farming doesn't solve many of these issues, and while raw milk might be fine for most people, it is hard to find. Cheese is also very inflammatory due to the toxins created in the fermentation process, and it can cause all sorts of issues with poor skin quality and contribute to fat storage. Butter, particularly from healthier grass-fed cows, is low in milk proteins and sugars so that most people can tolerate it, and contains a ton of beneficial nutrients that help you perform better, and is the best form of dairy most people can eat. What are Food Allergies? | HealthiNation

03:06
Have you ever gotten hives after eating? It might be a food allergy. Learn what causes these allergies, and why they can be so serious. Related Videos: Food Allergy Substitutes | HealthiNation http://youtu.be/nVPaa5zMC90 Local Honey & Allergies Myth | HealthiNation http://youtu.be/No1FO2FNsmg Overview Food allergies affect about 11 million Americans and can be serious. Food allergies not only prevent people from enjoying certain foods, but may also make it difficult to get the nutrients needed for overall health. How Food Allergies Develop Food allergies occur when a particular food triggers the body's immune system to develop an allergic reaction. It only takes a small amount of the food for this to occur. An allergic reaction can develop immediately or over a few hours and can range from hives to more serious complications such anaphylaxis, which can be fatal. Symptoms of a Food Allergy Symptoms of food allergies include: Hives. These are small, itchy red bumps that look like wheels, or blotches, on the skin. Eczema. This is an itchy, dry patch of skin. Asthma-like symptoms. Some people may wheeze or cough from a food allergy. Diarrhea and vomiting. Itching of the mouth and throat. Swelling in the mouth and throat. Abdominal pain. These symptoms can signal a food allergy, but some of them can also be caused by food intolerance. For example, people who are lactose intolerant may feel sick after drinking milk, but this does not mean that they are allergic to milk. The difference is that the discomfort from food intolerance is not caused by the immune system and is thus not an allergy. Common Food Allergies Some of the most common food allergies are to nuts, dairy products, wheat, and certain fish. These reactions start when a natural immune system antibody called immunoglobin E - or IgE - triggers the release of histamine and other chemicals. The chemical histamine causes allergy symptoms like hives and sneezing. Diagnosis of Food Allergies People should visit an allergist to find out if they have a food allergy. An allergist will ask questions about family history and the symptoms caused by certain foods. A skin test may be done using liquid extracts of different foods. If a certain extract causes hives or a rash, this can confirm a food allergy. A blood test may also be performed to test for IgE antibodies to specific foods. An elimination diet may be useful in diagnosing a food allergy. This works by avoiding the suspected food to see if allergy symptoms resolve. If the symptoms do resolve, the next step is to do a food challenge. This involves eating the suspected food and seeing whether there is a reaction. If there is, the allergy is confirmed. It may also help to keep a food diary, which details what food is eaten, when and any symptoms that appear around that time. Sources: Eggs. Learning about Gut Health! It's a situation that has been in my life lately! Absorption of foods. Which foods do what - what can heal the gut! Collagen, fiber, clean water. Avoiding GMO foods, (corn is 95% GMO and the spray they use is an antibiotic). Bad food additives and poisons cause leaky gut. Cause gut distrubances! Lactose intolerance, gluten intolerance, I feel these are no doubt caused by bad gut health! GMO foods destroy the good bacteria in our guts. I'm using collagen to fix my gut. It has been helping my bone structure and my knees - the cartilage and tissues in my knees. It can heal the gut lining! Good stuff! Also, it can heal arteries. Vitamin K2 helps to clean calcium plaque off of soft tissues; like knees, arteries, joints etc. Vitamin K2 will become mainstream knowledge in the future years! ~~~Nancy My Amazon Store! https://goo.gl/7w9Gi5 This is the collagen I use PRODUCTS ======== Hydrolysed Beef Collagen Great Lakes Gelatin Collagen Hydrolysate Beef http://amzn.to/2Cb1K0B Benefiber Daily Prebiotic Diatary Fiber http://amzn.to/2BlDdJf Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade http://amzn.to/2HeHPBn Vitamin K2 MK-7 with Mena Q7 Non-GMO Vegan http://amzn.to/2EhatnB` Vitamin D3 http://amzn.to/2Esq3gr Colloidal Silver w/a Dropper! http://amzn.to/2stW0zc ========= Healing The Gut! ~~~Nancy https://goo.gl/c1CLfK nancy gurish, nancygurish, your health and tech friend, yourhealthandtechfriend,a cosmetologist who is interested in staying healthy through natural means, gut health, heal the gut lining, vitamin k2,collagen fiber, arteries, soft tissue remove calcium plaque from arteries,

Modulating the Gut Microbiome – the Role of Probiotics and Prebiotics

01:02:48
The human intestinal microbiota functions as an organ and is critical for immune and gastrointestinal system maturation, colonization resistance, modulation of immune responses, and nutritional needs. A balanced, diverse microbiota is essential for health. There are disorders in which the beneficial use of probiotics is documented including antibiotic-associated diarrhea, C. difficile-associated diarrhea, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel disease, dysbiosis, urinary tract infections, allergies, atopic dermatitis, eczema, and lactose intolerance. As a complementary therapy, prebiotics increase the numbers and/or activities of healthful gut microbiota and support populations of healthful genera that are not available as probiotics. This presentation will provide the knowledge and tools needed to effectively use prebiotics and probiotics to enhance health. Learning objectives: 1. Understand the beneficial effects of the gastrointestinal microbiota on the development and function of the immune, gastrointestinal, and other organ systems, as well as the adverse effects that can occur secondary to microbiome disruption 2. Appreciate the mechanisms by which probiotics may confer benefit and the health conditions for which evidence exists to support their use 3. Learn the safety profile and potential risks of probiotic preparations and how to effectively select and dose probiotic formulas ----------------------------------------------------------------- Presented by Stephen Olmstead, MDAviva Romm, MD Stephen Olmstead, MD, graduated from the University of New Mexico with distinction in biology and chemistry.
