Natural Solutions for Vertigo (Common Sense Medicine)

05:50
Dr. Michael Berglund discusses the causes behind vertigo, giving descriptions of the anatomy of the ear and how the ear affects our balance and equilibrium. Most of the time, vertigo is caused by inner ear infections or a buildup of excessive fluid in the ears. Excessive fluid can be alleviated by removing irritating foods from the diet, controlling histamine reactions from airborne allergies, treating a possible infection of the inner ear, and adjusting the ear by opening the eustachain tubes. More information about ear infections can be found at http://www.berglundcenter.com/earinfections.html. For more information about Dr. Berglund and his practice, visit http://www.berglundcenter.com.

10 Warning Body Signs You Shouldn't Ignore

10:18
How to Stay Healthy. Your body has a way of telling you when it’s happy, when it’s sad, or when it desperately needs your attention. And there are certain signs you can’t ignore that, if it’s giving them to you, mean you’d better see a doctor right away. Follow these simple tips to stay healthy and avoid serious diseases. TIMESTAMPS Why pink feet are dangerous 0:36 Why do hugs feel uncomfortable 1:14 What thinning eyebrows say about your health 2:08 What health problems do swollen toes indicate 2:53 Why did you lose appetite 3:49 Is itchy skin a serious issue 4:48 Why do you hate being inside 6:02 What happens to your body if you hate open windows 6:57 What sudden onset of kleptomania really means 7:36 What can your nails tell about your health 8:45 Bonus trivia 9:32 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY -Discolored and distressed feet can indicate a metabolic problem, such as diabetes. An endocrinologist will check your blood sugar and hormone levels. -If hugs feel unpleasantly too tight, it might be a sign of a disease called multiple sclerosis (or MS). If you have unpleasant sensations in your arms and legs, like you’re wearing invisible gloves or shoes, that can be a warning sign too. -If you notice your eyebrows becoming naturally thinner without any help from your tweezers, you should see a doctor. This may be one of the symptoms of hypothyroidism, a condition that can lead to feelings of tiredness, constipation, depression, and weight gain. -If you have fat or swollen toes, or if your toes look like sausages, talk to a dermatologist and/or a rheumatologist. This symptom might signal psoriatic arthritis, which can result in damaged skin and pain. -If you experience a sudden loss of appetite and notice that you’re also losing weight, it may be a symptom of a metabolic disorder. This may be genetic or the result of not getting proper nutrition over an extended period. -Itchy spots are often caused by insect bites or mild allergic reactions to a new lotion or a low-quality fabric. If none of these possibilities explain the itch, however, ask your doctor for an examination. -If you’re one of those people who always asks to open the windows in public transportation, you have trouble breathing indoors, or you feel claustrophobic at work without a window open, you should have your heart tested to exclude the risk of cardiac failure. -If you can’t stand open windows or you’re cold even in the summer, you should get your thyroid checked. Your body might lack iodine, and this deficiency may lead to hypothyroidism. -A sudden ignorance of the law and the wish to steal something small, even if you can easily pay for it, may be the first sign of dementia. -If you notice your nails changing shape, such as becoming thicker and wider, this may indicate that you have lung or heart problems. Ouch, What Bit Me? How to Identify Common Bug Bites and What To Do About It

02:52
Everyone’s been bitten by insects like mosquitoes, ticks, and bees. Sometimes, knowing what kind of insect bit us can be helpful, to know how to lessen the pain, swelling, and itchiness. With that in mind, we’re going to show you five of the most common insect bites, their symptoms, and how they should be treated. 1.Mosquito bites Normally the area around the bite turns red and swells. They can also cause minor irritation and become itchy. To relieve the urge to itch, put a little lotion or alcohol on the bite and massage the area. However, if you feel pain in your joints, fever, swollen lymph nodes or other more severe symptoms, you should see a doctor immediately. If that happens, you might've been bitten by a mosquito that was carrying a dangerous poison. 2. Flea Bites Normally fleas leave three or four red dots on your skin. These little bumps can be really itchy, so the first thing you should do is apply calamine lotion or coconut oil to help with that. Avoid scratching these areas so as not to damage your skin. 3. Bed bug bites These little bugs are crafty and their bite can have different effects on different people. Some people, for example, can be bitten and not feel anything. Others, however, may suffer from an allergic reaction and experience swelling, itchiness and dermatitis. You can wash the affected area with soap and water, but you should still make it a point to see a doctor. 4. Spider bites Technically spiders are not bugs (they’re arachnids) , but we decided to include them because spider bites are very common. Most of the time, spider bites are harmless, but there are some exceptions, such as the black widow or the brown recluse, whose bites can have serious consequences. If a spider bites you, wash the area with soap and water. Next, apply ice. If the swelling continues, see a doctor immediately. 5. Tick bites Ticks are also not insects. Just like spiders, ticks are arachnids. They’re normally found on horses, dogs, and cats. They are so dangerous that their bite could cause serious diseases, such as Lyme disease. Tick bites leave a large red ring on your skin. First, you must remove the tick with a pair of tweezers. Don't put any oil on the affected area and keep it away from heat. All you need to do is wash your skin with soap and water. Then go see a doctor to make sure you don’t have any major diseases. TRYPOPHOBIA ALERT! Killer Insect Destroys Hand; Is It Real?

03:00
Trypophobia is it real? World's Most Dangerous Poisonous Insect. Killer Insect Invades The United states. Today we're investigating Trypophobia, the disease destroyed this woman's hand and is taking lives. If you see this bug run, run as fast as you can. This article which has been passed around social media along with this image, describes how this killer insect has invaded America and just touching it causes acid like burns on human skin and can lead to death within days. It goes on to quote the website of the Center of Disease Control. (Actually Center for Disease Control and Prevention) claiming that “this insect spreads a virus to the place of the bodily contact and circulates the entire human system within minutes.” What is this deadly virus they speak of? Its the India Contra Virus. Named so because this deadly insect was first spotted in India. Since its invasion of the United States 1,000's of people have been treated all over the country and as of January 1st of 2016, 100 people have died. The states most affected by the virus are Utah, Arizona, Florida, Georgia and Louisiana. Are the bug and video real? That answer coming right up, but first click the subscribe button up above. The bug and video are 100% real, but the India Contra Virus is completely made up. Let me break it down for you and why you should fact check everything you read before passing it. However, if everyone did that, there would be no reason to make anymore videos. So a quick shout out and thank you to all those who lack critical thinking skills and aren't skeptics. First we'll break down the article and then the bug and video. A quick look at the article will show you that: #1 Its not the Center of Disease Control, but the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. #2 No real sources cited. Even though they cite the CDC as a source there is no clickable link leading to an article or quote on the official government site. #3 They claim 1,000's of people affected and up to 100 have died. This news would not just be on some random website on the net, but all over major media as well. Look at how many news articles there are covering the Zika virus. #4 If you look closely at this image you will recognize this one as an image that gets attributed to another hoax disease called the lamprey disease. Named appropriately because someone just photoshopped a couple of lamprey eel mouths over some fingertips in order to trigger what some call a phobia, but is most likely a biological revulsion called... Trypophobia. Trypophobia while not a recognized condition, describes an irrational fear of holes. Images like these are used often and in most cases as clickbait to get you to visit a website, or watch a video like this one. Admit it, you wouldn't have watched the video if I used this image as the thumb The bug is a giant waterbug found in North America, South Africa and India and is completely harmless. The male of this insect exhibits what is called male parental care which means the female actually lays about 150 of her eggs on his back leaving him to take care of them. This particular image was taken from this video which originated from a YouTube channel that focuses on special effect make up tutorials where QUEENKINGSFX has an entire playlist devoted just to phobias. This disturbing effect was apparently created using spirit gum and peanut butter. Check out her entire video if you can muster up the courage to sit through it all. TRYPOPHOBIA HAND TUTORIAL! 10 Bug Bites You Should Be Able to Identify

10:20
How to Identify Bug Bites and Avoid Health Problems. With so many different insects that transmit all kinds of nasty diseases through their bites and stings, it’s really important to be able to identify your attacker. It might seem hard to know what exactly bit you with so many possible options but you’ll be able to protect yourself and know how to avoid serious health issues if you follow some simple tips we’ve put together. Our guide will make you an insect expert so you’ll be able to identify bee, wasp, tick, flea, lice, bed bugs bites and others. TIMESTAMPS How to know a hornet stung you 1:01 How to identify a bee sting 1:50 How to find out if a wasp stung you 2:49 How to tell an ant bite from others 3:40 How to know it was a mosquito that bit you 4:35 How to tell if a tick bit you 5:35 How to identify a flea bite 6:27 How to identify a horse-fly bite 7:13 How to prevent lice bites 8:18 How to know bed bugs bit you 9:10 Music: Geographer - IDCIDK Rondo Brothers - Magnum https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY -When hornets sense danger, they get super aggressive and sting harder than bees. The stung area becomes red and severely swollen. Sometimes blisters can even appear. -In case you or someone nearby has been stung by a bee, you need to act fast. Remove the stinger immediately if it’s broken off in your skin. The affected area gets red and swollen from the get-go. -The area stung by wasps becomes red and swollen, the victim feels pain and burning, and terrible itching ensues a bit later. You might even be left with a bruise. -Ants keep a grip on you in order to pierce your skin with his stinger, making it one of the few ant species that actually stings. Blisters appear on the stung spots that later turn into scars. -Mosquito bites look like swollen red spots about the size of a dime, and they usually appear on open areas of the body. Mosquitoes bite where the skin is really thin because it’s easier to get to the blood vessels. -Ticks can easily relocate between humans and their pets. Blood rises towards the upper layers of the skin around a tick bite, making the area appear reddish. -Flea bites are very painful, and the itch is even worse. Fleas usually attack the legs and prey solely on sleeping people. One insect can bite several times, so the red spots they inflict are usually from 0.5 to 1 inch apart. -Unlike the common housefly, horse-flies bite painfully and drink human blood. At first, a small red spot appears no more than a millimeter wide. Then it gets swollen and starts to itch. -If you notice small red dots that look like a rash on your scalp, the back of your neck, and behind your ears, that means you’ve got a case of head lice. Keep yourself and your house clean, and wash your clothes regularly to keep lice away. -Bed bug bites are very close to each other and look like little dotted roads on the skin. They are more painful than those from mosquitoes, and they’re mostly noticed in the morning since these bugs hunt at night. Woman Removed From Plane After Claiming She Was Allergic To Dogs On Board

It was a harrowing scene as a woman was forcibly removed from a Southwest Airlines plane. She claimed to have a life-threatening allergy to pets, and there were two dogs on board. When she couldn't produce medical documents, she was asked to get off, but refused. Some passengers were horrified, while others pleaded with her to calm down. Southwest Airlines says passengers who say they cannot travel safely with pets must produce a medical certificate, and called the incident "disheartening."

8 Signs You Have Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)

04:24
Signs of Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) in Women. Are you having that burning sensation while urinating or having a persistent urge to urinate? Then you need to get it checked immediately; this might be a sign that you are suffering from Urinary Tract Infection (UTI). The number of UTI cases is on the rise and the risk of developing UTI is more common among women, as per experts. It is now becoming one of the most common forms of infection, especially among women. This infection occurs in your urinary tract system which mainly comprises of the urethra, bladder and the kidney. It is that part of the body which removes the waste and excess water from our body. So how does one get infected with UTI? The infection is generally caused by microbes such as bacteria. When the urinary tract fails to fight against these microbes, it leads to infection. The infection can cause mild to severe pain. If not taken care of on time then it might be dangerous causing severe damage to the kidney as well. Hence you need to check out for these signs and symptoms of UTI, so that you can prevent it when it is still at its nascent stage. Take a look at these signs of Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) in Women. 1. Frequent Urination Urge: UTI is caused due to bacterial infection; it is caused when bacteria enter the bladder through the urethra. This is more common among women as their urethra is shorter and bacteria infect the urinary tract more quickly than in men. Also the amount of urine will be less. 2. Burning Sensation While Urinating: When the bacteria enter the urinary tract it causes inflammation; this is why it causes a burning sensation while you urinate. 3. Slight Blood In The Urine: When you are infected with UTI, you could also witness a slight reddish urine or blood in the urine. When the bladder gets infected with the urine you tend to get blood in the urine. 4. Cloudy Urine: Generally the urine is clear, but due to the infection caused by microbes, it makes the urine cloudy. This is one of the common signs of UTI. As soon as you identify it, get it treated before it gets delayed. 5. Smell In The Urine: The bacteria which cause the UTI give the urine that foul smell. So one needs to check instantly, if one has this symptom. 6. Nausea And Vomiting: Nausea and vomiting are one of the most common symptoms of UTI. When the bacterial infection spreads to the kidneys, it causes nausea and vomiting. 7. Muscle Aches: As the bacteria infect the urinary tract it causes muscle pain. For that matter any form of infection causes joint and muscle pain as your immune system tries to fight back these microbes. 8. Abdominal Pain: When the microbes affect the bladder, it causes light to severe abdominal pain. We tend to ignore it thinking it is some common pain, but this might be one of the symptoms of UTI. Hence we should not ignore any abdominal pain. Video URL : https://youtu.be/m3qDuW6oWcA

15 Ways to Get Rid of DUST MITES Quickly

06:06
House dust mites are tiny creatures, about a quarter of a millimetre long. They live off human skin scales which have been partially digested by moulds and thrive in humid environments. Mites are found in bedding, carpets, soft furnishings and clothing. In people allergic to dust mite, it is often not the mite itself but proteins in their droppings which cause the allergy. Each mite produces about 20 of these waste droppings every day and the droppings continue to cause allergic symptoms even after the mite has died. House dust mite allergy is very common and is associated with asthma, eczema and perennial allergic rhinitis. A significant amount of exposure to house dust mite allergen happens in the bed, so taking precautions in the bedroom by using allergy-proof covers on bedding, washing it regularly can sometimes help, although clinical trials suggest that multiple measures need to be taken, possibly including the use of chemicals called acaricides, in order to see an effect. However, remember that dust mite allergen is found in all rooms of the house, on the floor and in soft furnishings, not just in the bedroom. Measures to avoid house dust mite will lower, but do not totally remove, dust mite allergens. Often, this will be sufficient to significantly improve symptoms, but sometimes, the reduction may simply not be enough to result in a noticeable difference. There is no way to predict whether someone will benefit from avoidance measures, except by trying them. Remember that it is better to properly carry out several allergen avoidance measures in order to see an improvement in symptoms. Just doing one or two things half-heartedly may not make any difference. Controlling house dust mite allergens At home: Most efforts at controlling dust mites should be aimed at areas of the home where you spend most of your time and where dust mite load is greatest, i.e. bedrooms and living areas. Use allergen-proof barrier covers on all mattresses, duvets and pillows. These should be breathable and should completely enclose the item. Buy products that have been tested to make sure that they prevent the escape of house dust mite allergen. Wash all bedding that is not encased in barrier covers (e.g. sheets, blankets) every week. Washing at 60 degrees centigrade or above will kill mites. House dust mite allergen dissolves in water so washing at lower temperatures will wash the allergen away temporarily, but the mites will survive and produce more allergen after a while. Allergic children should not sleep in the bottom bunk bed where allergen can fall onto them. If possible remove all carpeting in the bedroom. Vacuum hard floors regularly with a high-filtration vacuum cleaner (see below). Remove all carpeting from concrete floors. Such floors trap moisture allowing dust mites and mould spores to thrive. Seal the floor with a vapour barrier, and then cover it with a washable surface such as vinyl or linoleum. There are certain types of flooring designed to prevent allergen build up (details of suitable floorings are available from Allergy UK). Where carpets cannot be removed, vacuum regularly with a high-filtration vacuum cleaner. Use a high-temperature steam-cleaner to kill mites effectively. Products are available that can be sprayed on carpets to kill mites; these are effective but should be used with care if you suffer from respiratory symptoms, and should not be used in areas where children play on the carpet, or on soft toys or pillows. Use a high-filtration vacuum cleaner with filters capable of retaining a high proportion of the smallest particles (HEPA filter, S-class filter or similar). Details of suitable vacuum cleaners are available from Allergy UK. Damp-wipe all surfaces each week (pelmet tops, window sills, tops of cupboards and so forth). Use light washable cotton curtains, and wash them frequently. Reduce unnecessary soft furnishings Vacuum all surfaces of upholstered furniture at least twice a week. Washable stuffed toys should be washed as frequently and at the same temperature as bedding. Alternatively, if the toy cannot be washed at 60 degrees place it in a plastic bag in the freezer for at least 12 hours once a month and then wash at the recommended temperature. Reduce humidity by increasing ventilation. Use trickle-vents in double-glazing, or open windows. Use extract fans in bathrooms and kitchens. If necessary use a dehumidifier to keep indoor humidity under 50% (but over 30%)

What’s the Difference Between Allergies, a Common Cold, and a Sinus Infection?

02:10
What’s the difference between allergies, a common cold, and a sinus infection? In this short video, Hao “Mimi” Tran, M.D., F.A.C.S., a board-certified otolaryngologist at the Ear, Nose, Throat & Plastic Surgery Associates, shares her insights and experience to this common patient question. “The main difference is really the duration of symptoms and the type of symptoms,” says Dr. Tran. “Typically a cold will come on fairly quickly, it’ll peak out at one to three days, and patients will normally feel better in about five to seven days. Symptoms are characterized by a lot of nasal congestion, thick, discolored drainage, and maybe fever. But patients are usually better in five to seven days without antibiotic therapy.” “When it comes to differentiating that from a bacterial sinus infection that might need antibiotics, it’s really about the duration,” Dr. Tran continues. “An infection will last ten days or more, and sometimes the symptoms will worsen over the course of five to seven days.” A double worsening sign is where patients will feel like they’re getting better initially around day one or day two, then get worse, then get better again, only to get worse again. This normally indicates the presence of a bacterial infection that would need to be treated with antibiotics. “Allergies have a very common symptom profile as well,” says Dr. Tran. “You don’t get the fever, the discolored mucus, or a cough. Allergies also have a well-known trigger - if you’ve been outdoors, around cats or other allergenic triggers.” Allergies can last year-round depending if you’re allergic to dust mites or mold, but sometimes they can be more seasonal with trees, pollen, and grasses. How to Get Rid of Swimmer's Ear

04:30
Ever heard of swimmer’s ear? That’s the infection of the outer ear canal, in the tube that connects the ear to the eardrum. The medical term for it is otitis externa. The main cause for this infection is when the water left in the ear canal after swimming, bathing, or showering grows bacteria. A fungus or virus can also cause infection, but that is less common. Other things that cause this infection are using headphones or hearing aids too often, over- cleaning of the outer ear canal, hair spray or hair dyes, and an allergy from jewelry. The mildest symptoms for swimmer’s ear infection are swelling, redness, pain or discomfort, pus or fluid discharge, itching, and muted hearing. What do you do to ease pain for a mild infection? Here are some ways to lessen the infection and allow the ear canal to heal. Kill Sinus Infection in 20 Seconds With This Simple Method And This Common Household Ingredient!

03:16
OUR WEBSITE : http://justhealthrelated.com/ Kill Sinus Infection in 20 Seconds With This Simple Method And This Common Household Ingredient! There’s nothing more annoying than a runny nose and itchy throat. It’s even worse when your sinuses swell up and cause headaches and pain. This article will teach you two simple trick to get lasting sinus congestion relief. How Sinuses Work According to Healthline, “a sinus infection occurs when your nasal cavities become swollen and inflamed”(1). This can be caused by a virus, the common cold, or allergic rhinitis, although there are many other causes (2). About 37 million Americans experience sinus infections at least once each year. You sinuses are located above and below your eyes and behind your nose. They’re lined with mucous membranes that respond to allergens and infection. When they become inflamed, you may feel dull pressure and pain in your head, ears, teeth, jaw, and cheeks. When you have a sinus infection, your sinuses get clogged as the mucous thickens and the mucous membranes become inflamed. They may also fill with a green-yellow discharge. When this discharge flows into your throat, it can irritate this tissue. This explains the tickle or itchy feeling you feel in your throat when you have a cold. How To Get Sinus Congestion Relief These two remedies will pack a double punch for quick, lasting relief. 20-Second Trick To stop a sinus headache in its tracks, push your tongue against the roof of your mouth as you press your thumb right between your eyebrows. Hold the pressure for 20 seconds. When you release, it will stimulate the vormer bone in your nasal cavity and cause it to vibrate (3). Immediately, your sinuses will drain into your nose and throat and give some relief. Repeat every hour or so as needed to treat sinus headaches and sinus pressure. Germ-Busting Drink Drink this mixture to kill the bacteria or virus responsible for your sinus infection. Ingredients: 1/2 cup of water 1/4 cup unfiltered apple cider vinegar 1 tablespoon raw honey 1 tps. minced ginger 1 tsp. cayenne pepper 1 lemon, juiced Instructions: Boil water and combine with apple cider vinegar. Add the honey and cayenne and stir. Lastly, add lemon juice. Drink multiple times a day until your sinuses clear up. How It Works Lemon reduces inflammation of the mucous membranes and boosts the immune system to fight off an infection on your own (4). Cayenne contains capsaicin, which thins mucus to help it drain out (5). Ginger kills bacteria and viruses to fight the cause of infection. It also soothes throat irritation and fights headaches (6). Lastly, ACV fights sinus and throat pain through its antimicrobial, anti-fungal and antiviral properties (7). How to Treat Fluid in the Ear | Ear Problems

01:11
Watch more How to Deal with Ear Problems videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/508256-How-to-Treat-Fluid-in-the-Ear-Ear-Problems Fluid in the middle ear is referred to in the medical literature as serous otitis media. And serous otitis media occurs in the middle ear for several different reasons. The most common reason is as a result of a middle ear infection. Oftentimes when the acute infection which is causing pain or discomfort, is resolved, there will be leftover fluid that doesn't drain from your middle ear. And it doesn't drain because your eustachian tube is swollen closed. This is usually treated with various anti-inflammatory drugs. But on occasion those drugs are not effective and the fluid must be surgically drained. This fluid is drained by making a small hole in the eardrum, which is called a myringotomy. This is a procedure that can be done on an adult in the office painlessly with a topical anesthetic. Young children, however, who will not hold still in the office, often need to be sedated in the operating room with a light general anesthetic.

Eustachian Tube Dysfunction: Unclog your ear instantly

04:03
In this video, I show you how I unclog and unblock my ears with ETD. If the Eustachian tube is blocked or does not open properly this is called Eustachian tube dysfunction (ETD). Dysfunction is just another way of saying that it isn't working properly. The air can't get into the middle ear, making the air pressure on the outer side of the eardrum becomes greater than the air pressure in the middle ear. This pushes the eardrum inwards. The eardrum becomes tense and does not vibrate so well when hit by sound waves. Symptoms If the Eustachian tube is blocked or does not open properly this is called Eustachian tube Ear pain Ear ringing Ear buzzing Dizziness Earache Popping sensation Common Causes Common cold Nasal infection Sinus Ear infection Throat infection Hay fever Do this 2 times a day morning and evening for 2 weeks and let me know how you get on. Don’t forget to leave a comment.

How to manage fungal infection on scalp? - Dr. Nischal K

01:33
Fungal infection in scalp is often due to dandruff in adults. In children it can be due to dermatophytes and taken a course of antifungals, it gets cured completely. So most often fungal infections in adults is due to malssezia furfur and it is actually increased by seborrhoiec dermatitis. Seborrhoiec dermatitis is nothing but dandruff free action which is an eczema. Eczema is nothing but allergy. None of the allergies can be cured permanently, even dandruff cannot be cured permanently. If the fungal load comes down then the itching in the scalp starts coming down. There is no course as such. We treat the people with the antifungals, when the infection is more and as the infection comes down. We opt the people on a maintenance testament. So the maintenance can be using an antifungal shampoo weekly once. It is a quite simple thing. Nothing to get scared about. You can never get rid of your dandruff forever unless your hormone levels start coming down as you age.
