Top 7 Type 2 Diabetes Medications

03:19
Some people who have type 2 diabetes can achieve their target blood sugar levels with diet and exercise alone, but many also need diabetes medications or insulin therapy. The decision about which medications are best depends on many factors, including your blood sugar level and any other health problems you have. Your doctor might even combine drugs from different classes to help you control your blood sugar in several different ways. 1. Metformin Generally, metformin is the first medication prescribed for type 2 diabetes. It works by improving the sensitivity of your body tissues to insulin so that your body uses insulin more effectively. Metformin also lowers glucose production in the liver. Metformin may not lower blood sugar enough on its own. Your doctor will also recommend lifestyle changes, such as losing weight and becoming more active. 2. Meglitinides These medications work like sulfonylureas by stimulating the pancreas to secrete more insulin, but they're faster acting, and the duration of their effect in the body is shorter. They also have a risk of causing low blood sugar, but this risk is lower than with sulfonylureas. Weight gain is a possibility with this class of medications as well. Examples include repaglinide (Prandin) and nateglinide (Starlix). 3. Thiazolidinediones Like metformin, these medications make the body's tissues more sensitive to insulin. This class of medications has been linked to weight gain and other more-serious side effects, such as an increased risk of heart failure and fractures. Because of these risks, these medications generally aren't a first-choice treatment. Rosiglitazone (Avandia) and pioglitazone (Actos) are examples of thiazolidinediones. 4. Sulfonylureas These medications help your body secrete more insulin. Examples of medications in this class include glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase), glipizide (Glucotrol) and glimepiride (Amaryl). Possible side effects include low blood sugar and weight gain. 5. GLP-1 receptor agonists These medications slow digestion and help lower blood sugar levels, though not as much as sulfonylureas. Their use is often associated with some weight loss. This class of medications isn't recommended for use by itself. Exenatide (Byetta) and liraglutide (Victoza) are examples of GLP-1 receptor agonists. Possible side effects include nausea and an increased risk of pancreatitis. 6. SGLT2 inhibitors These are the newest diabetes drugs on the market. They work by preventing the kidneys from reabsorbing sugar into the blood. Instead, the sugar is excreted in the urine. Examples include canagliflozin (Invokana) and dapagliflozin (Farxiga). Side effects may include yeast infections and urinary tract infections, increased urination and hypotension. 7. DPP-4 inhibitors These medications help reduce blood sugar levels, but tend to have a modest effect. They don't cause weight gain. Examples of these medications are sitagliptin (Januvia), saxagliptin (Onglyza) and linagliptin (Tradjenta).

It has many beneficial properties but can also have some very serious side effects and can be very dangerous if combined with some types of medications. If you have any of these conditions, do not use apple cider vinegar to avoid complications. THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF THE APPLE CIDER VINEGAR One of the most common uses of apple cider vinegar is weight loss. Stroke reduces the appetite because it empties the stomach more gradually and makes you feel sated for longer without feeling the need to eat. According to a Chinese study, consumption of ACV reduces the risk of esophageal cancer by 37%. Apple cider vinegar can be used for the treatment of yeast infections and athlete's foot because it has antibacterial and antifungal properties. It is related to some very serious conditions. Because of its acetic acid, stroke reduces bad cholesterol levels, blood pressure and reduces cancer risks. In addition, it has anti-glycemic properties and avoids the digestion of starches that cause blood sugar levels to rise, so it may be useful for diabetics. DO NOT USE THE SIDRA VINEGAR OF APPLES IF YOU USE ANY OF THESE MEDICINES! Although apple cider vinegar has wide use for various medical problems, you should know the side effects if combined with some medications, as they can be very serious. When apple cider vinegar interacts with some medications it lowers potassium levels in the body. Here is the list of medications that should not be combined with apple cider vinegar. Digoxin or Lanoxin This medicine is used to treat heart disease. Apple cider vinegar obstructs the absorption of potassium in the body, so it increases the risk of manifestation of side effects of this medication, which include vomiting, vision problems, mood swings, diarrhea and dizziness. Diuretics: Diuril, Lasix, Microzide and Thalitone These medications are used to treat swelling and stimulate the body to remove accumulated fluid. Potassium maintains the balance of water in the body and, as apple cider vinegar reduces potassium levels, can cause dehydration. Insulin Insulin is a medicine used by diabetics to balance blood sugar levels in the body. According to some studies, apple cider vinegar may help control blood sugar levels, but should never be taken in combination with insulin because the combination of these can greatly reduce potassium and sugar levels in the blood. blood. Consumption of apple cider vinegar should be taken with caution. Prolonged use of apple cider vinegar can cause low levels of potassium in the body, which can lead to other health problems. For example, consuming 8 ounces of apple cider vinegar every day for a couple of years can cause osteoporosis. OTHER GROUPS OF PERSONS WHO SHOULD NOT USE THE VINEGAR OF SIDRA OF APPLE Pregnant women and nursing mothers There is insufficient evidence of how apple cider vinegar affects the body and the fetus during pregnancy, so it is best to avoid taking ACV. This also goes for breastfeeding mothers because it is not so clear how it affects newborns. Diabetics If you have any type of diabetes, you should be very careful when taking apple cider vinegar. Stroke can lower blood sugar levels, so if you take any medication, you should adjust it if you want to include stroke. Potassium levels in the body can be reduced with insulin and apple cider vinegar. Therefore, taking ACV and insulin at the same time can greatly reduce potassium levels in the body. Postmenopausal women Postmenopausal women are already at risk for reduced bone density and taking large amounts of apple cider vinegar can cause osteoporosis because it reduces potassium levels in the body.

My hypoglycemia episode: You don't have to be on insulin to have these! Beware - they're dangerous!

20:45
Ford Brewer MD MPH PrevMedHeartRisk.com You don't have to be on insulin - or sulfanureas - or DPP4s/Victoza- to have a hypoglycemic episode. These can happen at significant, even dangerous levels. And they are dangerous, causing arguments, wrecks and even seizures. I'm on Metformin. Metformin doesn't cause hypoglycemia. Insulin, Sulfanylureas and other meds do that. But Metformin makes it difficult for your liver to raise your glucose if it does go low. Alcohol does the same thing. Does that give you some perspective on your experience if you've ever had a "hangover" that improved from eating or drinking calories? Because of the adrenaline/epinephrine and the fact that I've been on low carb diets, I couldn't eat carbs. But I was able to eat cheese, and then later an omelette. This is a critical warning for baby boomers. I was born at a weight of 10.5 pounds. My family thought I was just a fat, happy baby. Since then we've found that babies weighing over 8.5 pounds at birth are at greatly increased risk of diabetes. There is a common belief that prediabetic patients are at increased risk for diabetes. About Dr. Brewer - Ford Brewer is a physician that started as an Emergency Doctor. After seeing too many patients coming in dead from early heart attacks, he went to Johns Hopkins to learn Preventive Medicine. He went on the run the post-graduate training program (residency) in Preventive Medicine at Hopkins. From there, he made a career of practicing and managing preventive medicine and primary care clinics. His later role in this area was Chief Medical Officer for Premise, which has over 500 primary care/ prevention clinics. He was also the Chief Medical Officer for MDLIVE, the second largest telemedicine company. More recently, he founded PrevMed, a heart attack, stroke, and diabetes prevention clinic. At PrevMed, we focus on heart attack and stroke and Type 2 diabetes prevention by reducing or eliminating risk through attentive care and state-of-the-art genetic testing, imaging, labs and telemedicine options. We serve patients who have already experienced an event as well as those have not developed a diagnosis or event. Our team of senior clinicians includes internationally recognized leaders in the research and treatment of cardiovascular disease, preventive medicine and wellness. We also provide preventive medicine by telemedicine technology to over 30 states. Contact Dr. Brewer at info@prevmedheartrisk.com or visit http://prevmedheartrisk.com.

Vitamin B1 Deficiency in Diabetes & Hypoglycemia: MUST SEE!

03:19
Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Dr. Berg talks about vitamin B1 deficiencies in diabetes and hypoglycemia. This is VERY common because vitamin B1 (thiamine) is involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates and glucose. In fact, being a diabetic, pre-diabetic, hypoglycemic person can deplete B1 even more increasing the need for B1. B1 supports the myelin (around nerves), the endothelial layer (arteries), the retina to help your vision not to mention your kidneys. It can also effect your autonomic nervous system (sweating palms, ADD, the flight or fight system, high histamines, increase pulse rate, skin allergies, etc.) B1 deficiencies can come from: 1. Refined carbs and sugars 2. Fructose (HFCS), 3. Alcohol 4. Blood sugar conditions (diabetes, hypoglycemia) 5. Stress 6. Sulfites, 7. Diuretics 8. White rice especially 9. Take A spoonful Of Spirulina Everyday And You'll Be Surprised With The Results

03:35
If you’re into superfoods, you’ve probably heard about spirulina. This blue green algae is a freshwater plant – in fact, it’s the very same algae that can be found on the surface of the pond. While that might not seem very appetizing, there are practically an endless number of reasons you should eat it, at least in its final form of spirulina, which is completely safe. Check out these 6 reasons you should have a spoonful of spirulina each day. 1.Fights liver disease Spirulina may be essential for those with a chronic liver disease as research has shown that it helps to protect against liver cirrhosis, liver damage and liver failure. In the study published in Journal Nutrition, the scientists concluded that spirulina is beneficial for liver health in addition to functioning as an antioxidant, eliminating free radicals, preventing liver damage and chelating harmful-metals. 2.Supports brain health Taking a spoonful of spirulina a day is believed to help protect the brain from degenerative diseases, such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease. One study compared spirulina to foods rich in antioxidants like blueberries and spinach, which are well-known to cause neuroprotective effects because of their ability to lower inflammation and eliminate free radicals. Research has also shown it doesn’t only protect the brain from degeneration, but it also helps sharpen your mind, with some findings that suggest taking it daily can even help increase productivity and focus. 3.Improves muscle strength and endurance As one of the major contributors to fatigue in muscles is exercise-induced oxidative damage, consuming plant foods that are rich in antioxidants like spirulina can prevent the problem, or at a minimum, limit the damage. Spirulina has also been found in studies to be beneficial for improving both endurance and muscle strength. 4.Lowers the risk of cancer The University of Maryland Medical Center reports: “A number of animal and test tube studies suggest that spirulina increases production of antibodies, infection-fighting proteins, and other cells that improve immunity and help ward off infection and chronic illnesses such as cancer. 5.Lowers blood sugar levels Some animal studies have suggested that consuming spirulina can lower blood sugar levels, in fact, results have even shown that it can outperform some of the most common diabetes medications, like Metformin. Other research on humans, in which 25 patients with type-2 diabetes took two grams of spirulina each day for two months, experienced significantly lowered blood sugar levels. 6.Eliminates candida While candida is not a bad thing on its own and can be found in the gastrointestinal tract, your oral cavity and vagina, if there isn’t a healthy balance, will be much more susceptible to illness and disease. A microflora imbalance can lead to leaky gut syndrome and candidiasis, the leading cause of deaths related to mycosis in the United States. An overgrowth of candida is now a hallmark sign for most autoimmune diseases we see today. How to use spirulina: The easiest way to utilize spirulina is to mix it into various foods. While you could simply mix a spoonful into a glass of water, many people find its pungent taste rather off-putting, but adding it to a smoothie, fruit juice, soup or other foods, even dips, can be a great way to take advantage of its many benefits without suffering through the experience. Can I Do Keto & Intermittent Fasting If I am a Diabetic on Metformin and Insulin?

02:52
Take Dr. Berg's Free Keto Mini-Course: http://pxlme.me/-i717vtY or go here: https://www.drberg.com/how-to-do-ketosis Download Keto Essentials https://m.me/drericberg?ref=w2128577 Dr. Berg answers the question, "can I do a keto and intermittent fasting if I am a diabetic on metformin and insulin. The answer is yes, because in both situations your sugar is high and your insulin will also be high. This is because in type 1, you're taking insulin and fluctuating be a higher high sugar state and a low blood sugar state and taking some carb to raise it. The big point is rarely does one focus on the triggers to blood sugars in the first place. This is a deeper root cause and if you could take the least amount of insulin to control blood sugars then you will receive the least amount of side effects. High insulin is a bit more dangerous than high sugars, but both are equally bad for your eyes (retina), your kidneys, your heart and blood vessels and your nerves and brain. So the top two things you need to do is reduce your carbs and do intermittent fasting. Both of these actions will greatly take the stress of the cells of the pancreas and liver and allow you to take less insulin. Get with your doctor as you manage your medications on this. Someone had a question, can I do Keto and Intermittent Fasting if I am diabetic, on Metformin and Insulin at the same time. I don’t know if this person is type 1 or type 2, chances are here type 2 going into type 1 eventually. But here’s the difference, type 1 is the problem of pancreas not producing insulin. Type 2 is more of a problem with the receptor and not receiving insulin and the feedback goes back and causes the pancreas to produce more insulin to compensate. It is a compensatory type of thing and you have high amounts of insulin. But both of these situations type 1 and type 2 have high blood sugars. Metformin makes the receptor more receptive to insulin and the insulin gives you what the pancreas is not providing in the body. But the problems is, if you are type 1, they are giving you insulin, your insulin is going to be high now because you are going to be taking insulin to control this out of control blood sugar. So in both of this conditions you have high sugar and high insulin at the same time. Now it’s more dangerous to have high insulin than it is to have high sugar, there is more problems. Sustain high levels of insulin destroys the retina, kidney, arteries and the brain. Of course high sugars will do it too but high insulin creates even more destruction. The goal is to take the least amount of insulin possible. If you are type 1 and maybe your cells are completely destroyed of any chance of recovery but we still want you to take the least amount of insulin possible so it would make sense to avoid the triggers of insulin. Unfortunately, the American Diabetes Association does not recommend what i'm gonna recommend but the needs to be more focus on the diet and the frequency of eating because reducing your carbohydrates and doing the intermittent fasting are the two things they are gonna allow the person to take the least amount of insulin. And it's also gonna help improve insulin resistance which will take the stress off the liver and the cells. DR. What does brown spotting with delayed cycle in young PCOS women indicate? - Dr. Phani Madhuri

03:32
Abnormal bleeding is one condition where the women see their health care provider very often. It can happen at various stages at many many times during the reproductive phase of the woman. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or Polycystic Ovarian Disease characterized by 3 features, that is irregular menses, hyperandrogenism, that is excess of male hormones in your body which can be depicting like acne, excess facial hair or hoarseness of voice and polycystic pattern on the ultrasound. Polycystic Ovarian women have abnormal bleeding compared to that of the other women. Why it happens is there is no normal release of the egg from the ovary every month. That is the follicle does not grow to a size of18-20mm in the probable first half of the cycle and does not release an oocyte so that the second half of the cycle is not happen and there is no regular menses. All the follicles are stuck in the same size and they are stuck in the small size and most of them fail to grow to the optimal size for the release to happen. These small follicles secrete a hormone called as estrogen. That causes to increase the lining of the uterus. Normally this very thin fragile lining of the uterus keeps on growing in size because of the estrogen hormone and once it becomes too thick it may not have enough support to supply blood to the last area of the endometrium and this thin area could keep on shedding from the endometrium and later on these women could also have heavy bleeding which can carry on for many many days in the form of polymenorrhagia. Because of excess of estrogen and lack of progesterone there is no supportive hormone to support the endometrium. These women can have on and off spotting. Whenever women has irregular periods or these features of polycystic ovarian disease, they are advised to see the gynecologist and are treated with various hormones like progesterone’s, oral contraceptive pills, progesterone containing IUD’s that is Intra Uterine Devices. Some women may not respond to medical treatment and may require surgical treatment like DNC and Endometrial ablation or other procedures.

New type of diabetic drug, associated with weight loss: Invokana *SEE BELOW*

03:58
2018 update: Invokana MAY be associated with an increased risk of amputations. Farxiga and Jardiance have not shown this possible side effect. Its not clear weather this is a statistical anomaly, if Invoka was used in sicker patients than the other studies, or it actually has this risk. At this time, I see no reason to use Invokana when the other 2 drugs have not had any concerns about this risk. A new class of diabetes drugs called the SGLT2 or Sodium GLucose coTransport 2 have been developed. The first to come to market is called Invokana. These drugs block the reabsorption of glucose in the kidneys, and cause glucose or sugar, to be spilled in the urine. This lowers blood glucose, as well as weight loss. The loss of 40-80 grams of sugar in the urine equates to 160-320 calories per day, or 15-30 minutes of exercise equivalent. The major side effect is vaginal yeast infections and urinary tract infections from the sugar feeding yeast and bacteria. They may also increase the risk od bladder cancer. In fact another drug in this family, Daptogloflozin, was blocked from being released to market until further cancer studies can be done

Apple Cider Vinegar Improves Blood Sugar Regulation And Speeds Up Weight Loss

05:18
Apple Cider Vinegar Improves Blood Sugar Regulation And Speeds Up Weight Loss Historical evidence credits ancient Babylonians (5,000 B.C.) with creating vinegar or “sour wine” stemming from the French origin “vin airgre.” The benefits were not overlooked by the Father of Medicine, Hippocrates, who historically used apple cider vinegar (ACV), or cider vinegar, to treat wounds and prescribed it as a tonic solution for a persistent cough. Studies have shown that apple cider vinegar has a profound ability to improve blood sugar regulation and speed up weight loss. The fermentation process is required in two series to produce cider vinegar. First, bacteria and yeast break down the sugars into alcohol. Secondly, over a slow and lengthy process, acetobacterium cause the oxidation of alcohol into acetic acid. Acetic acid distinguishes ACV by giving it a pungent, sour taste and may leave a cloudy, substance, called the mother, in the bottom of the glass (1). The mother is the fermenting portion of the apple and it is rich in enzymes. It is best to buy raw, unpasteurized ACV with the mother intact. 1.Blood sugar control A common way of fulfilling a dietary dose of cider vinegar is to utilize it in salad dressing or take a small shot glass of the tonic before a high caloric meal, especially before consuming protein such as beef that requires a longer period for digestion. A Japanese study in 2003 found that the glycemic index (GI) was reduced by over 30% when the simple swap of a pickled cucumber was made for a fresh cucumber. Researchers believe that cider vinegar has antiglycemic properties and plays a pivotal role in regulating sugar levels in type 2 diabetics. Specifically, it is possible that a key component of the vinegar acts as an antiglycemic agent by mocking the chemical pathway of the drug, metformin, used by diabetic patients. Side effects of metformin use include drowsiness, nausea, and diarrhea among other problems. Metformin use is also linked to liver disease and heart failure. Post prandial glycemia is a spike in an individual’s blood glucose levels following meals. The simple introduction of vinegar consumption with a meal improved blood glucose sensitivity in several studies. The Diabetes Journal published a study in 2007 assessing the effects of vinegar on waking hyperglycemia in type 2 diabetic individuals, a condition known as “dawn phenomenon”. Noted was a 4-6% reduction in fasting glucose levels when individuals received only 2 tablespoons of apple cider prior to a meal, in comparison to a lower 3-6% fasting glucose reduction when the same individuals received pharmaceutical treatment. Another study showed that women had a 55% reduction in the blood glucose response following a morning meal containing vinegar. 2.Aids in weight loss There are various factors promoting weight loss in individuals consuming a daily intake of cider vinegar (approximately one or two tablespoons). The antiglycemic effect may be attributed to the suppression of carbohydrate synthesis by inhibiting enzymes that stimulate the rate and timeframe of blood glucose concentration and consequently regulating satiety and/or appetite. Acetic acid protects the liver by increasing tolerance of lipogenesis and fatty acid synthesis responsible for improving cholesterol levels. The synergistic nature of increased blood flow and insulin activity relays into increased energy. Weight loss effects from apple cider vinegar are evident in a group of 155 obese Japanese individuals. Data collected signified a decrease in visceral fat, BMI and serum triglyceride levels among other health benefits. With many factors promoting the detoxification and overall health of the liver, weight loss may also be caused from the stimulation of fecal bile acid excretion when consuming cider vinegar. Cinnamon: does it prevent heart attack, stroke, cancer, diabetes?

09:21
The debate on Cinnamon continues. There is little evidence that it impacts cholesterol or HgA1c. But there are several studies indicating that it may improve fasting glucose levels. For prediabetics, it's the post-meal glucose values that are the problem, not fasting glucose values. In addition, the most recent Cochrane meta-analysis did not support any impact at all from cinnamon on any cholesterol or glucose values. So, why take cinnamon? It's cheap ($3/month). You might enjoy those occasional cinnamon burps. And maybe it will turn out to help. But if you do take it, you may want to make sure to look for ceylon, burmanii, or cassia. These are all really the same thing. Korintje cinnamon is different. Although it's not known, there has been far less research on this. Invokana

11:10
Diabetes affects tens of millions of Americans with the number growing alarmingly rapidly. Invokana represents a new concept in therapy. Rather than stimulating the body’s metabolism of sugar, this drug leads to elimination of glucose through the kidneys into the urine. Relatives include Jardiance and Farxiga. Recent concerns suggest some association with kidney failure, bone fractures, ketoacidosis, genital yeast infections and possibly an increased risk of amputations. Cash price may exceed $15 each day.

For more great information about type 2 diabetes, sign up for our free email program at www.DiabetesWhatToKnow.com/sign-up/ Transcript Hi, I’m Ansley from Diabetes—What To Know. I’m here today to talk about the signs and symptoms of diabetes. Many people wonder if they have diabetes—and you may be wondering—what are the warning signs of diabetes? What’s the first clue? Unfortunately, diabetes itself doesn’t have any symptoms. I say unfortunately, because if diabetes were as easy to recognize as the common cold, people would go to their doctor at the first sign of trouble. Instead, we can only look at the signs and symptoms of high blood sugar, which often don’t occur until diabetes is already in place. Some of those symptoms include-- Frequent urination. If you’re going to the bathroom a lot, even during the night, that could be a sign of diabetes. As blood glucose goes up, the body tries to get rid of that excess sugar through urine, and the excess sugar draws water with it, so that you end up going to the bathroom more often. This can occur slowly over a long period of time, which makes it easy for people to ignore it or get used to it. Excessive thirst. When you go to the bathroom more frequently, your body compensates by increasing your thirst so that you can replace the lost water. You may have thought that you were going to the bathroom all the time because you’ve been drinking so much water (or soda, or juice). But, actually it’s the other way around-- high blood sugar causes you to go to the bathroom a lot, which makes you thirsty. And if you drink sugary drinks (like cola or sweet tea), it only makes things worse. Blurry vision is another symptom of high blood sugar. Large changes in the glucose in your blood can temporarily change the shape of the lens in your eye, causing your vision to be poorly focused, or blurry. This is only temporary; there’s no permanent change in the lens. Once you get your blood sugar levels within your target range your vision will improve. Another sign of diabetes is urinary infections and yeast infections, particularly in women. If any of these symptoms persist, you should visit your doctor. A quick and easy blood test can tell you whether or not you have diabetes If you find that you do have diabetes, know that you can do very well by paying just a little attention to it. Having diabetes isn’t so bad, unless you ignore it, and then it can be very bad. And remember-- all the signs and symptoms are caused by the high blood sugar, not the diabetes itself, and these symptoms are temporary. Once your blood glucose levels are in range and stable, you’re going to feel a million times better. If you’d like information about how to get your blood sugar levels in range—go to our website and you’ll be able to enroll in our free email program. All It Takes Is One Boiled Egg to Control Sugar in The Blood

02:22
The blood sugar levels in your body rise after every time you eat something, especially if you are a Type 2 diabetic or insulin resistant. It is not easy to learn how to get your blood sugar levels under control. It can take a newly diagnosed patient several months to figure out what they can and cannot eat. While figuring this out, a patient with Type 2 diabetes will likely have some spikes in their sugar levels. Having high blood sugar is important to take seriously, as it can cause some serious health issues. If you have high blood sugar for too long, it can cause you to be more at risk for heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, vision issues and nervous system problems. Luckily, there are many foods that you can consume which will help you to control your blood sugar levels naturally, without medication. One such remedy only contains three ingredients to keep your blood sugar stabilized. You will need: - Apple Cider Vinegar. - Water. - Hard-boiled egg. Hard-boiled eggs are a great snack if you have diabetes because it is so high in protein. The protein in the egg helps you to feel full without causing your blood sugar to rise quickly. Protein slows down your digestive system and your body s absorption of glucose. This is extremely beneficial to people with diabetes. Apple cider vinegar makes your body more sensitive to insulin and helps your body from raising your blood sugar quickly. This is especially true after eating food that is high in starch. There was one study done in particular that showed positive results with Type 2 diabetics when they took apple cider vinegar before eating a meal high in glucose. How to do it: - Boil an egg in the afternoon, and peel it. - Pierce the egg a 2-3 times using a toothpick. - Put the egg in a mason jar and pour just enough vinegar over it so that it is completely covered. - Close the jar and let it soak overnight in your refrigerator. - The next morning, drink a glass of warm water and eat your egg. - Repeat this every day. Soon, you will notice that your blood sugar levels have improved and are more stabilized. If you like the video, give it a thumbs up and share it with your friends! What causes Low Testosterone in Females?

07:39
What causes Low Testosterone in Females? What happens when a woman has low testosterone? A woman's testosterone levels naturally change throughout her life, her menstrual cycle, and even at different times of the day. Low Testosterone in females does not contain enough to help produce new blood cells, maintain sex drive, or boost levels of other reproductive hormones. Testosterone belongs to a group of hormones known as androgens. Testosterone levels affect: fertility. sex drive. red blood cell production. muscle mass and fat distribution. Most people think of testosterone as a male sex hormone, but everyone requires a certain amount. While males have more testosterone than females, female adrenal glands and ovaries produce small amounts of testosterone hormone. According to the University of Rochester Medical Center, a woman should have a total of 15–70 nanograms per deciliter (ng/dl) of testosterone in her blood. At this time, there are no conclusive guidelines for what should be considered "low" testosterone levels in women. Symptoms: Low testosterone in women can cause one or more of the following symptoms in women: sluggishness. muscle weakness. fatigue. sleep disturbances. reduced sex drive. decreased sexual satisfaction. weight gain. fertility issues. irregular menstrual cycles. vaginal dryness. loss of bone density. It is important to note that research in this area is still limited. Because the symptoms linked to low testosterone in females are so common, a doctor will look for signs of other issues or conditions before making a diagnosis. The doctor may check for Low Testosterone in Females: depression. anxiety. chronic stress. thyroid disease. transition to menopause. Causes of Low Testosterone in Females: The two main causes of low testosterone in women are: diminishing levels of the hormone as a normal result of menopause and aging. problems with the ovaries or the pituitary or adrenal glands. Testosterone decreases naturally as a woman ages. Levels of other hormones, such as estrogen, also reduce over time, especially when a woman reaches menopause. Around the time that menopause begins, a woman may be more likely to have less testosterone because the ovaries are producing fewer hormones. Also, medications that combat the side effects of menopause can lower testosterone levels. One such medicine is oral estrogen. Problems with the ovaries and adrenal glands can also cause lower levels of testosterone in women. A woman may have reduced levels if her ovaries have been removed, for example, or if she has adrenal insufficiency, which means that the adrenal glands do not work correctly. Diagnosis of Low Testosterone in Females: There is currently a lack of research into the treatment of low testosterone in women. Many doctors are much more concerned about testosterone levels that are too high. In 2014, a task force recommended against routinely measuring testosterone levels in women, as research has yet to prove a link between testosterone levels and symptoms. If a woman reports any of the symptoms listed above, a doctor will likely check for other, more common, conditions first. To diagnose low testosterone in women, a doctor will start with a physical exam and ask about any symptoms. If the doctor suspects low testosterone in females, they will order a blood test. Treatment of Low Testosterone in Females: A doctor may administer testosterone injections or pellets, expecting these treatments to have the same effect on women as on men: raising energy levels, decreasing fatigue, and increasing the sex drive. However, many doctors advise women not to take testosterone. Likewise, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have approved few testosterone-based treatments for women. The 2014 task force advised against treating low testosterone levels in women due to a lack of research. However, they noted as an exception that women with a condition called hypoactive sexual desire disorder should receive treatment. ☛ Subscribe Our Channel For More Health and Lifestyle Videos! ☛ https://www.youtube.com/Top10Lifestyle ► We hope you find this what causes Low Testosterone in Females video very informative, If you like it then please share it with your friends on social media. Eat Cinnamon Mixed With Honey For 7 Days And THIS Will Happen To Your Body

03:48
Follow us on Twitter: @foods4health1 Recipes4Health: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2bZhXBHIb51n1fE3VWPmcQ/videos To learn more about the health benefits of food, visit: http://www.benefitsoffood.blogspot.com Cinnamon and honey on their own are both very nutritious and promote the overall health of our bodies. They contain important vitamins such as folate, vitamin C and vitamin E, minerals such as calcium, iron and zinc, and even nutrients such as fibre and protein. When combined together, these two ingredients become a nutrient powerhouse that offers incredible health benefits. Lets discuss these health benefits of cinnamon and honey when it is consumed consistently. 1. First, cinnamon and honey can be beneficial for those individuals suffering from diabetes. Cinnamon is a good source of antioxidant flavonoids, which effect on the body closely resembles that of insulin. This means that the mixture can encourage glucose out of the blood and into the cells, which provides functional energy. This natural sugar does not cause the major fluctuations in blood sugar levels as artificial sugar does, and this mixture can help create a steady use of glucose by the body, helping those with Type 2 diabetes. 2. it can also improve digestion when consumed consistently. It can help to manage digestive issues such as constipation, ulcers and nausea, while also increasing the overall health and functionality of the digestive system. If that wasn’t enough, it can also help with the removal of gas from the stomach and intestines, as well as treat stomachaches. Honey is very easy for our body to breakdown since it is a pre-digested nectar, which can soothe our digestive system. Cinnamon is also helpful for its antimicrobial properties in this regard. 3. Cinnamon and honey is also great for our immune system. This mixture can help to boost our immune system, even helping those individuals who may be suffering from chronic fatigue symptoms. It is also helpful for treating common cold and flu symptoms. This is because this mixture is packed with antioxidants. As well, it can help to slow down the growth of bacteria and fungus within the body. 4. It is also great for those individuals suffering from arthritis, and may be beneficial in providing relief from these unwanted symptoms. Consuming this mixture can help to relieve joint pain as well as helping to maintain the overall health of our bones. 5. Cinnamon mixed with honey is also great for our skin! Skin care can be maintained from drinking this mixture, or you can treat minor skin infections and pimples by simply applying the paste on the areas of the skin that are troublesome. These skin health benefits are possible due to the mixture’s antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant characteristics. Not only are minor infections and pimples reduced, but the appearance of wrinkles and age spots can also be reduced. 6. It is also great for our overall heart health. Both the cinnamon and honey can help to reduce cholesterol levels and protect the heart. High LDL cholesterol, or “bad” cholesterol, can lead to atherosclerosis or plaque build up on the walls of the arteries. This can lead to heart related disorders and complications and increase the chances of stroke and heart attacked. 7. Lastly, cinnamon mixed with honey can also improve our overall dental health. Both cinnamon and honey are used in this regard. It can help with eliminating bad breath and also help to relieve toothaches while also promoting the overall health of our teeth due to its antimicrobial properties. Creating the cinnamon and honey mixture is incredibly easy. All you will need is 1 cup of warm water, mixed with 1 tbsp of raw honey and 1 tsp of cinnamon. Make sure the water is not too hot before consuming the mixture. Thank you for watching the video! Please like, comment and share. Vit D deficiency epidemic - and Vit K. Is this driving arterial inflammation and calcification?

11:27
Vit D was thought to be a non-issue when it was provided as a preventive of Rickets. Rickets was a disabling disease of bone deformity of children. Over the past decade, we've discovered that Rickets was just the tip of the iceburg. Now we're discovering multiple functions, especially anti-inflammatory in nature. Significant evidence supports prevention of cardiovascular disease, multiple cancers and even mental health issues. The Wikipedia site on Vit D appears outdated. It doesn't mention the recent data about these issues. Vit D toxicity is a debatable condition. Toxicity has been reported to kidneys at doses over 50 times the recommended amount. Vit D increases calcium absorption by the gut. But what happens next? That's supposed to be where Vit K2 enters the picture. Vit K2 is involved in getting the calcium to the bone. There is evidence that vit k2 decreases deposition of calcium in the artery walls. The scientific evidence in this area is growing. How to lose weight with Prolon Day 2: FMD Fasting Mimicking Diet: MTOR, IGF1, PKA - Valter Longo

11:39
This is an unboxing video. It's Day 2 of my experience with Prolon. Prolon is a fasting mimicking (meal replacement) product developed by one of the world's leading researchers in the genetics and biochemistry of longevity. He has demonstrated improvement in multiple markers, including cholesterol, inflammatory markers, stem cell performance, and the metabolic pathways IGF-1, MTOR, and PKA. These pathways are all related to aging. The actual contents, foods, soups, supplements and teas are demonstrated. There is also a brief biochemistry explanation re: the tea sweetener - glycerine. Glycerine is a carbohydrate, but it is low glycemic. Perhaps more important, glycerine is the backbone of triGLYCERIDES - or fat molecules. So in a fasting state, you should be making ketones and creating/burning glycerine. In other words, the sweetener used is already being made by the body in the fasting state. Use this guide to help recognize the symptoms. Step 1: Learn the facts Learn what causes liver disease, including viruses, bacteria, and chemical or physical changes. Liver disease isn't always accompanied by obvious symptoms. Tip Check your family history. Liver disease can be hereditary. Step 2: Look for the yellow Look for yellowing of the eyes or the skin, also known as jaundice, which is a clear indicator of liver disease. Step 3: Notice changes in eating habits Pay attention to changes in your relationship with food and eating, including a loss of appetite, nausea, changes in your weight, and vomiting. Step 4: Check your toilet Check your urine and stool. Liver disease symptoms include diarrhea, light-colored stool, and dark urine. Step 5: Feel the itch Feel the itch -- liver disease can give you an itchy sensation that cannot be relieved. Step 6: Know the pain Know what type of abdominal pain occurs with liver disease. Pain is typically in the upper right part of the stomach. Tip Pay attention to muscle aches and pains as well, as these can also be a symptom. Step 7: Look for behavioral changes Look for changes in behavior, including depression, a loss of sex drive, fatigue, and a vague feeling of illness known as malaise. Step 8: Get tested See your doctor and get a liver function test. If you have liver disease, your test will come back as abnormal. Talk with your doctor about the steps you need to take for treatment. Did You Know? The liver is the largest organ inside the human body.

Valter Longo, Ph.D. on Fasting-Mimicking Diet & Fasting for Longevity, Cancer & Multiple Sclerosis

01:18:16
Dr. Rhonda Patrick speaks with Dr. Valter Longo, a professor of gerontology and biological sciences and director of the longevity institute at the University of Southern California. Dr. Longo has made huge contributions to the field of aging, including the role of fasting and diet in longevity and healthspan in humans as well as metabolic fasting therapies for the treatment of human diseases. ▶︎ Get the show notes! https://www.foundmyfitness.com/episodes/valter-longo In this conversation, Rhonda and Valter discuss... • The effects of prolonged fasting, which refers to 2-3 day fasting intervals in mice and 4-5 days in humans. • Dr. Longo’s work on the fasting-mimicking diet, which is 5 day restricted diet that is meant to simulate some of the biological effects of prolonged fasting while still allowing some food. • How clinical trials have demonstrated efficacy for this diet for type 2 diabetes, multiple sclerosis, and cancer patients. • Fasting as an inducer of differential stress resistance, where it can simultaneously make cancer cells more sensitive to death while also making healthy cells more resistant to these same death stimuli (such as chemotherapy) which might otherwise induce cell death amongst healthy cells as collateral damage. • Fasting as a biological state which humans historically experienced with extreme regularity and we may ultimately need in order to mitigate various disease states. • The effects of prolonged fasting on the immune system, namely, how it clears away damaged white blood cells via autophagy and how this causes hematopoietic stem cells to self renew and make more stem cells and also produce new blood cells to fully replenish the white blood cell population. • How prolonged fasting causes a shift in the immune cell population towards one that is more representative of youth by normalizing the ratio of myeloid cells to lymphoid cells. • The positive effects of prolonged fasting and the fasting-mimicking diet on markers of systemic inflammation, blood glucose levels and other aging biomarkers. • The conclusions of Dr. Longo & Dr. Marcus Bock’s research comparing 1 week of the fasting-mimicking diet followed by 6 months of mediterranean diet to six months of a ketogenic diet in people with multiple sclerosis. • The strange, somewhat paradoxical role of autophagy genes in cancer progression and some of the open questions surrounding the exact role that these genes are playing. • Dr. Longo’s high level thoughts on metformin as an anti-aging drug. • How the growth hormone/IGF-1 axis is one of the most important genetic pathways in aging from yeast to worms to mice to humans. ▶︎ Follow Dr. Longo on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/profvalterlongo ▶︎ Visit ProLon FMD: http://www.prolonfmd.com/ ▶︎ Visit L-Nutra: http://www.l-nutra.com/ ▶︎ Follow Dr. Longo on Amazon for his new book (coming soon): https://www.amazon.com/Valter-Longo/e/B00K17Z408/ref=sr_ntt_srch_lnk_1?qid=1474851961&sr=8-1 Links related to FoundMyFitness: ▶︎ Subscribe on YouTube: http://youtube.com/user/FoundMyFitness?sub_confirmation=1 ▶︎ Join my weekly email newsletter: http://www.foundmyfitness.com/?sendme=lifestyle-heuristic ▶︎ Crowdfund more videos: http://www.patreon.com/foundmyfitness ▶︎ Subscribe to the podcast: http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/foundmyfitness/id818198322 ▶︎ Twitter: http://twitter.com/foundmyfitness ▶︎ Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/foundmyfitness ▶︎ Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/foundmyfitness

How To Know If It's Prediabetes, Type 1 Or Type 2 Diabetes?

06:24
Get my prediabetes and diabetes type 2 management guide here https://goo.gl/r7WV3y Is It Prediabetes, type 1 or type2? We hear the term “diabetes” and automatically think we know what it is, right? Well, those of us with diabetes probably do know that there are 2 or maybe 3 depending how you want to classify it, types of diabetes. Some will call prediabetes a form of diabetes, and I guess that is true, kind of like pre-school is kind of like school. Then there are Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. And don’t forget about gestational diabetes. We will talk briefly about that one at the end. In this video, I will attempt to give you the similarities and differences in each as well some possible causes. Diabetes affects approximately 30 million Americans today. That is nearly 10% of the population. Diabetes is a disorder of the endocrine system. With diabetes, blood sugar levels stay high because either the pancreas can no longer produce enough insulin or the cells of the body are resistant to insulin and the pancreas can’t keep up. Either way, the glucose or sugar level in the blood stream becomes too high and the body cannot function properly. Pre-Diabetes In general, people who have a fasting plasma blood glucose in the 100-125 mg/dl range are defined as having impaired fasting glucose or pre-diabetes. Like many diseases, early detection can be very good. Talk to your doctor about testing for pre-diabetes. You may be able to prevent type 2 diabetes Type 1 Diabetes This used to be called juvenile diabetes or insulin-dependent diabetes. Type 1 diabetes occurs because the insulin-producing cells of the pancreas are actually destroyed by the immune system. Type 1 diabetes is actually considered an autoimmune disease. Its onset has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle. There is nothing you can do to prevent Type 1, and—at present—nothing you can do to get rid of it. Type 1 diabetes most commonly starts in people under the age of 20, but may occur at any age. According to the Mayo Clinic, the most common symptoms of Type 1 are: Increased thirst Frequent urination Bedwetting in children who previously didn't wet the bed during the night Extreme hunger Unintended weight loss Irritability and other mood changes Fatigue and weakness Blurred vision In females, a vaginal yeast infection There is no cure for Type 1 and it cannot be reversed. To determine diabetes, a blood sample will be taken after an overnight fast. A fasting blood sugar level less than 100 is normal. A fasting blood sugar level from 100 to 125 is considered prediabetes. If it's 126 or higher on two separate tests, you have diabetes. If you're diagnosed with diabetes, the doctor may do other tests to distinguish between type 1 and type 2 diabetes — since the two conditions often require different treatments. Type 2 Diabetes According to Web MD, with type 2 diabetes, the body continues to produce insulin, although insulin production by the body may significantly decrease over time. The pancreas produces either not enough insulin, or the body is unable to recognize insulin and use it properly. When there isn't enough insulin or the insulin is not used as it should be, glucose can't get into the body's cells to be used as energy. This glucose then builds up in the blood. This condition was once known adult-onset or noninsulin-dependent diabetes. More common in adults, type 2 diabetes increasingly affects children as childhood obesity increases. There's no cure for type 2 diabetes, but you may be able to manage the condition by eating well, exercising and maintaining a healthy weight. If diet and exercise aren't enough to manage your blood sugar well, you also may need diabetes medications or insulin therapy. The symptoms for Type 2 are basically the same as for Type 1 with a few additions: Slow-healing sores or cuts Itching of the skin (usually in the vaginal or groin area) Recent weight gain Numbness or tingling of the hands and feet Impotence or erectile dysfunction A quick word about gestational diabetes, Hormone changes during pregnancy can affect insulin's ability to work properly. The condition, called gestational diabetes, occurs in about 4% of all pregnancies. GB is tested for during the pregnancy and is treated if present. Usually blood sugar levels return to normal about 6 weeks after giving birth. I hope this has shed some light on the different types of diabetes.
