Now early detection is mandatory for a favourable prognosis, now for this, there are certain signs and symptoms which we need to look out for. One, we should look out for any signs of red or white lesions in the oral cavity. Next we look out for sores, any swelling, patches, elevated patches in any part of the oral cavity. For throat cancer you can also look at an inability to swallow, or like say an object is stuck in your throat. There maybe a numbness, or tingling sensation, or there could be tenderness in any part of the oral cavity. In later stages there could be inability to chew, swallow, speech also could be hampered. Those cancers which are related more to the tooth, here you may find that your teeth maybe mobile. There is no periodontal disease involvement in this.

Spotting mouth cancer signs and symptoms early -- Mike's story -- Cancer Research UK

02:37
Mike tells us how he found his mouth cancer early. Learn about possible symptoms of mouth cancer and why it is important to see your doctor as soon as you have symptoms. This is a Cancer Research UK video. Learn more about mouth cancer at www.cancerresearchuk.org/cancer-help/type/mouth-cancer/ Video transcript: Mike: My name is Mike Donahue, I live in County Durham. I’m a professional magician and in 2007 I was diagnosed with mouth cancer. I was getting shaved for an event early evening to go out and perform at an event and I noticed a lump on my neck. At first I just thought it was muscle so for a couple of weeks I didn’t do anything and then I thought there’s maybe something not right here. So I went to the GP and as soon as he looked at it he faxed though to hospital just to get it checked in case it was cancer. And he actually mentioned the word cancer. I remember going to a Blackpool magic convention which I used to go to every year wondering whether I would have cancer or not when I came back. And they said yeah you’ve got cancer. So it was shock and devastation. But thanks the skill of the doctors and the brains of the medical world I’m still here. So very lucky but I put it down to going straight away really to get it seen to. The sooner you go to get it checked out the more chance you’ve got of recovering from whatever you have wrong with you so it makes sense to go early. For me, the fact that I went early, that’s why I’m still here and living a full life now. So I’m doing the best I can to be fit and I’m really happier than I’ve ever been in my life. Really happy.

HPV The Most Common Cause Of Oral Cancer

01:10
http://houstondental.com/oral-cancer-screenings/ HPV The Most Common Cause Of Oral Cancer HPV And Oral Cancer: The Deadly Link HPV and Oral Cancer have a longstanding relationship: one has been confirmed as a direct factor towards another. The human papillomavirus, or better known as HPV, plays a large factor in raising the risk of contracting oral cancer. HPV is contracted by having practicing unsafe oral sex, as well as other methods that can heighten the risk of the disease. However, it has been discovered that poor oral health has actually been linked as a risk factor to HPV. Proper oral health is imperative to deter various oral diseases, such as periodontitis or teeth decay; which in itself can be traced as a source of the HPV and Oral Cancer connection. HPV and Oral Cancer: Connecting the Dots HPV and Oral Cancer share a common source: poor oral health. By not practicing proper oral health, the mouth becomes more susceptible to more complications that may eventually lead to the most harmful of oral diseases: oral cancer. A study was performed that placed individuals with different standings of oral health into a controlled environment. Those with gum disease showed a 58% higher risk of oral HPV infection when compared to others. This information confirms that poor oral health can truthfully be considered the catalyst of many oral diseases that can affect your health, if not fatal in themselves. Oral HPV infection causes 40-80% of oral cancer cases, and is seen as the deadliest link to this potentially fatal disease. Not only is it imperative to practice safe oral sex, but it is doubly important to maintain proper dental health and maintain consistent dental checkups with your family dentist. Oral health affects the body in more ways than one, and because of this it is ever important to keep yourself in optimal dental health. April is Oral Cancer Awareness Month We here at Cosmetic Dentists of Houston are proud promoters of spreading the message about oral cancer all throughout April. How to Prevent Mouth Cancer|tongue cancer treatment options

03:56
How to Prevent Mouth Cancer|tongue cancer treatment options Mouth (oral) cancer, a type of head and neck cancer, is any cancerous growth located in the oral cavity. As with any type of cancer, oral cancer is a serious medical condition that can lead to permanent injury or death. Although mouth cancer can occur in anyone, 75% or more of all mouth cancer can be linked to modifiable behaviors, such as tobacco use and excessive alcohol consumption. In order to avoid mouth cancer, you can take preventative measures. 1 Maintain a good oral care regimen. Maintaining a good oral care routine helps to reduce the risk of mouth cancer by preventing infections and other oral diseases. Brushing your teeth, flossing, and rinsing with mouthwash all contribute to an effective oral care routine. Repeated and long-term gum disease, poor oral hygiene, and missing teeth can lead to infections that put your mouth under high risk of cancer. Make sure you don’t have ill-fitting dentures or sharp, broken teeth that can cause repeated mouth irritation and increase your risk of mouth cancer. If you feel like your dentures get dislodged every time you speak or chew, it means that they do not fit well and have to be relined or replaced. Denture adhesives containing zinc can be toxic to the cells lining the mouth, and should be avoided. 2 Conduct oral self-examinations to check for any pre-cancer indicators. Irritation of tissues inside your mouth caused by dental trauma is one of the factors possibly associated with mouth cancer. You can check inside your own mouth using a hand mirror to look for any abnormalities that could be indicators of pre-cancer or cancer. Catching cancer early is one of the best ways to ensure you can treat it before real damage occurs. Check all the areas of your mouth, such as your gums, tongue (back and sides), lips, the insides of your cheeks, the roof of your mouth, and under your tongue. If you see any color changes, like white, red, or grey patches, you should visit your dentist for a check-up, as it may indicate a pre cancerous condition. Also, check for lumps, bumps, painful areas in your mouth. If you have an ulcer that is not healing, or if you have repeated ulcers in the same area, then visit your dentist immediately to get your mouth examined. Conducting a self-examination at least once a month for a few minutes is a good precaution to take against mouth cancer. 3 Visit your dentist regularly to get a professional opinion. Even better than giving yourself a self-examination, is allowing a dental professional to examine the state of your mouth. Dentists have been trained extensively in many varieties of mouth disease. Your dentist will be able to quickly and confidently assess the state of your oral health, and warn you if mouth cancer has developed or could develop. It is important to visit your dentist every 6 months for a complete oral checkup. You can also ask for an oral-cancer screening test if you are under high risk for cancer (for example, due to regular tobacco use). Your dentist will check the entire mouth and he/she will identify the precancerous changes in your mouth at early stage. These dental check ups are really important to reduce cancer risks, especially in tobacco and alcohol users. If pre-cancerous growths (Leukoplakia or Erythroplakia) are identified, your dentist or oral surgeon will remove the abnormal growth areas. SUBSCRIBE TO MORE VIDEOS

Tobacco use is the cause of about 22% of cancer deaths.[2] Another 10% are due to obesity, poor diet, lack of physical activity, and excessive drinking of alcohol.[2][9][10] Other factors include certain infections, exposure to ionizing radiation and environmental pollutants.[3] In the developing world nearly 20% of cancers are due to infections such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C and human papillomavirus infection.[2] These factors act, at least partly, by changing the genes of a cell.[11] Typically many genetic changes are required before cancer develops.[11] Approximately 5–10% of cancers are due to inherited genetic defects from a person's parents.[12] Cancer can be detected by certain signs and symptoms or screening tests.[2] It is then typically further investigated by medical imaging and confirmed by biopsy.[13] Many cancers can be prevented by not smoking, maintaining a healthy weight, not drinking too much alcohol, eating plenty of vegetables, fruits and whole grains, vaccination against certain infectious diseases, not eating too much processed and red meat, and avoiding too much sunlight exposure.[14][15] Early detection through screening is useful for cervical and colorectal cancer.[16] The benefits of screening in breast cancer are controversial.[16][17] Cancer is often treated with some combination of radiation therapy, surgery, chemotherapy, and targeted therapy.[2][4] Pain and symptom management are an important part of care.[2] Palliative care is particularly important in people with advanced disease.[2] The chance of survival depends on the type of cancer and extent of disease at the start of treatment.[11] In children under 15 at diagnosis the five-year survival rate in the developed world is on average 80%.[18] For cancer in the United States the average five-year survival rate is 66%.[5] In 2015, about 90.5 million people had cancer.[6] About 14.1 million new cases occur a year (not including skin cancer other than melanoma).[11] It caused about 8.8 million deaths (15.7% of deaths).[7] The most common types of cancer in males are lung cancer, prostate cancer, colorectal cancer and stomach cancer.[19] In females, the most common types are breast cancer, colorectal cancer, lung cancer and cervical cancer.[11] If skin cancer other than melanoma were included in total new cancers each year, it would account for around 40% of cases.[20][21] In children, acute lymphoblastic leukemia and brain tumors are most common except in Africa where non-Hodgkin lymphoma occurs more often.[18] In 2012, about 165,000 children under 15 years of age were diagnosed with cancer.[19] The risk of cancer increases significantly with age and many cancers occur more commonly in developed countries.[11] Rates are increasing as more people live to an old age and as lifestyle changes occur in the developing world.[22] The financial costs of cancer were estimated at $1.16 trillion USD per year as of 2010.[23]जानलेवा है मुंह का कैंसर, ये लक्षण दिखें तो डॉक्टर को दिखाएं, cancer, mouth cancer symptoms, health tips, oral cancer, cancer twenty one pilots lyrics, cancer twenty one pilots, cancer my chemical romance, cancer song, cancer lil boosie, mouth cancer, mouth cancer commercial, mouth cancer from chewing tobacco, mouth cancer first stage, mouth cancer symptoms in gujarati, oral cancer screening, health tips bangla language, health tips bd, health tips for women

LIFESTYLE Tobacco use: About 80% of people with oral cavity and oropharyngeal cancers use tobacco in the form of cigarettes, chewing tobacco or snuff. The risk of developing oral cancer depends on the duration and frequency of tobacco use. Smoking can lead to cancer in the mouth or throat, and oral tobacco products are associated with cancer in the cheeks, gums, and inner surface of the lips. Alcohol: About 70% of people diagnosed with oral cancer are heavy drinkers. This risk is higher for people who use both alcohol and tobacco. For people who smoke and drink heavily, the risk of oral cancer may be as high as 100% more than the risk for people who do not smoke or drink. Betel quid: Many people in Southeast Asia, South Asia, and others parts of the world chew betel quid, a leaf from the betel plant wrapped around areca nut and lime. Chewing gutka, a combination of betel quid and tobacco, is also common. Both of these substances are associated with an increased oral cancer risks.

Mouth Cancer On The Rise - Go See Your Dentist.

01:49
http://www.healthinsurancegroup.co.uk/ Mouth cancer - don;t put off seeing your dentist. A survey has been released suggesting that there has been a dramatic increase in cases of mouth cancer in recent years. This video will explain why this is the case, and what has caused the increase. The survey by the British Dental Health Foundation has suggested that cases of mouth cancer have risen by 50% since the year 2000. Worryingly however, the survey also revealed then three in ten people would not change their lifestyle to avoid developing the disease, even if they knew someone with mouth cancer. Common causes which contribute to the disease are excessive drinking, tobacco use, poor diet. 2,500 people die from the disease every year, though it is much more easily prevented if diagnosed early, with survival rates reaching as high as 90%. However, rates plummet to 50% if left untreated. Carol Porter, a spokesperson for The Health Insurance Group, recently said, "Cancer can often be spotted in its early stages by your dentist during a thorough mouth examination. If mouth cancer is diagnosed early, the chances of a cure are good. However, too many people are left untreated because they do not visit their dentist regular enough for a routine examination. We are passionate about preventative Oral Health care and making high quality dentistry available and affordable for all our clients through a cost effective Dental Insurance or Health Cash Plan".  We'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter. Man Has Swollen Face From Mouth Cancer

00:39
ID: 1520288 A Pakistan man with his face swollen to almost the size of a human head is battling for his life months after he got his tooth removed from a 'fake' dentist. Muhammad Farooq, 21, from Landhi, Karachi in the Sindh province of Pakistan is suffering from mouth cancer. He is not able to talk or eat any solid food and is completely dependent on liquid diet.
