"Connect the Dots": Waterfowl Hunting - Fowled Reality

Scouting plays huge dividends in waterfowl hunting. Knowing where ducks or geese have been, where they're going, and why they're going there can setup a waterfowl hunter for a lot of success. Unfortunately, knowing all this to "Connect the Dots" doesn't guarantee success. There are times when the best laid plans don't work out, but there are times when they do. ► Fowled Reality Season 7 - http://bit.ly/2MnaXb0 ►Duck Hunting - http://bit.ly/2N5AECm Want migration updates, new duck hunting videos, and waterfowl news sent to your inbox? ► Subscribe: http://bit.ly/2eSnx73 Be sure to like and share our videos and thank you for watching Fowled Reality!
Duck Tubes and how to build them

09:01
Building duck tubes for mallard ducks to nest in is easy and low cost. Andy Stott and Mark Shaw from Westmorland Wildfowlers show how to make them. See exclusive footage of the ducklings in action, leaving their nest and leaping to the water. With excellent protection from predators and the elements, the ducks love these man-made nests. Just a few tubes around a duck pond can significantly boost the mallard population. More ducklings, more ducks - everyone’s a winner.

The Goose That Lays The Golden Egg - The Hidden Lessons

04:21
Every story has a lesson behind that we can learn from. This story, in particular, is more reflective of our lives than we think.. This is the story of the goose that lays the golden egg. Once upon a time, there was a farmer. He lived a simple live, dependent on his crops and poultry for his livelihood. Once day, he found a golden egg in the nest of his goose. He took a closer look and realized that it was PURE GOLD! The next day as he was admiring his golden egg, from the corner of his eye, he saw his goose laid another golden egg. Every single morning, his goose will lay one golden egg. His increasing wealth, unfortunately, also brings greed and impatience. He tried to force his goose to lay more but was not able to.. One day, he decided to kill his goose and collect all the golden eggs at once. So he killed his goose, cut it open and he could not find any golden eggs. Alas, the farmer has killed his goose that lays the golden eggs. Lesson: Most of us will say "I will never be like that farmer". But unfortunately, we dont realize that sometimes we are just like that farmer. Stephen Covey, in his book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, wrote that the Goose and the Golden Egg is the Production Capacity (PC) and Production(P) respectively. If we choose to focus on the P or Golden Eggs and neglecting the PC (Goose), in time, we will lose the PC. If we keep both eyes on the PC(Goose) without the aim of P(Golden Egg), who is going to feed you and the goose. Balance is the key to effectiveness - Stephen Covey. How many businesses lost customers just because they fail to maintain a P/PC balance? How many companies lost top talent because of the same reason? For more videos, pls subscribe. Yesterday I got 27 eggs on egg recon and we’re a touch today with 31 eggs but we really should be getting around 40 eggs from the girls. Change of plans today, we’ve got some nasty wet damp weather coming actually they are calling for snow believe it or not. So with this change in the weather I’m going to take advantage of it and finish the burn pile out front so there is no more duck remains on the property. As I’ve already stated many times on the show Dug won’t eat raw duck he’ll eat almost anything raw except duck, but he sure like roasted or rotten duck though. Ended up being a long day burning but it had to get done, starting May 1st you can’t legally burn during the day, you have to wait till 6pm to light fires and I’ve got way too much to burn to start at 6pm, so today is the day I clean up front. We’ve got a nasty cold front that has blown in, I really should be wearing my winter coat that is how cold it is this morning, and tonight it’s going to get even colder -2°C is the forecasted temperature which more than likely it’s going to get colder than that here. Today is work on the hatcher day, I’m not going to bed until I have it up and running. Egg recon we got another goose egg although it’s a small egg compared to what she has been laying so far. The escape Muscovy this morning during the gosling’s introduction turned out to be the Muscovy female duck from the very first nest we had in Moe’s Love Shack, last night I had put her back into the pen and this morning she is back out again. I don’t know when the Muscovy female duck escaped last night but this morning her eggs were stone cold so I think her nest is write off now. --------------------------------------------- Fundraiser is now up to help feed the ducks feed the homeless and food banks, the links are below Help the Duck Adventure donate to charity http://www.gofundme.com/50DucksFoodBanks Help The Ducks Go Live http://www.gofundme.com/50DucksLive --------------------------------------- Help Feed The Ducks & Geese Feed The Homeless / Food Banks On The Duck Adventure on YouTube --------------------------------------- Donate or monthly subscribe via PayPal to help feed the Ducks & Geese on the Duck Adventure on YouTube with this link: http://www.50DucksInAHotTub.com Or Get a limited edition official “50 Ducks In A Hot Tub” T-shirt today click here http://www.50DucksInAHotTub.com to purchase today via PayPal ------------------------------------------------- Video Equipment used on the Duck Adventure Sony HDR-CX430 Cam Rode SVM Stereo Video Mic with Deadkitten Artificial Fur Wind Shield 1,100m/h battery packs 64 gig SD Memory Card Opteka X-GRIP Professional Camera / Camcorder Action Stabilizing Handle with Accessory Shoe Pivothead HD video glasses for true Point of View recording Get Your Own Pair Of Pivotheads via the link below You can also help feed the Ducks feed the homeless on this YouTube Adventure by purchasing your own pair of PivotHead HD Video Glasses using this link http://pivothead.com/products?a_aid=52d86bb18c650 -------------------------------------------------- Help me clean out my garage check out my remaining inventory from my old business on eBay If you don’t like the prices “Make Me An Offer” I want my garage back. http://stores.ebay.ca/Moviemat ---------------------------------------- “Gosling Surprise & Hatcher Gets Modified” 9:33:12,23:54:69 ---------------------------------------------- The ducks are streamed on theses sites below also 🔴Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/50DucksInAHotTub 🔴Twitch - https://www.twitch.tv/50ducksinahottub 🔴UStream - http://www.ustream.tv/channel/zBdCcT2W9nu 🔴Stream.me - https://www.stream.me/50DucksInAHotTub 🔴YouNow - https://www.younow.com/50DucksInAHotTub 🔴Periscope - https://www.periscope.tv/50DucksInAHotTub 🔴VK - https://vk.com/50ducksinahottub 🔴Vaughn - https://vaughnlive.tv/50ducksinahottub ------------------------------------------------- Twitter - https://twitter.com/50ducks -------------------------------------------- Back Up (New) Channel https://www.youtube.com/user/50DucksInAHotTub

Pelican and Corrmorant Nest Surveys on Lake Butte des Morts, Wisconsin

ON THIS VIDEO: 1) American White Pelican chick and egg 2) Walking through Pelican and Cormorant nesting colony 3) Pelican chick calling from inside egg 4) Double-crested cormorant chicks calling 5) Hatching cormorant eggs 6) Canada Goose nest with fuzzy chicks Please Like and Subscribe http://www.youtube.com/user/winnebagophoto Please help support these videos and my website by purchasing one of my photographic prints at: http://www.winnebagophotography.com/ This island was primarily inhabited by American White Pelicans (Pelecanus erythrorhynchos) and Double Crested Cormorants (Phalacrocorax auritus) . Over the years these birds trampled and poisoned the island vegetation with their guano. Worse yet, thousands of birds had a major negative, but local impact on the aquatic ecosystem. Aquatic vegetation perished causing a drastic decline in water quality, game fish and waterfowl. Common Carp replaced the game fish in this situation and reinforce algae dominance. To reduce the negative impacts several of these islands were shaved down below the water line. Both species continue to nest on the lake, but in reduced numbers. Carp control will need to be part of the management plan too. In this video we are walking the nesting island, dividing it in two, to facilitate the survey. The video is a bit shaky, but the priority was the safety of the chicks and eggs below. I had to walk very carefully to avoid stepping on eggs and chicks Information on lakes and wetlands: http://www.lakeandwetlandecosystems.com/blog Video shot with a Nikon Coolpix P6000 Photo Blog: http://www.clunkycamera.com/

Australian Wood Ducks using a nest box

03:06
Australian Wood Ducks naturally nest in tree hollows high above the ground but will also take to nest boxes in urban areas where old hollow bearing trees are in short supply. Installed beside the Elwood Canal near Byron St, this nest box was homemade and designed specifically to cater for ducks while deterring Common Brushtail Possums with the slippery sloping roof. I placed a motion sensing camera inside the box to discover how each duckling managed to hatch within minutes of one another even though each egg had been laid on a separate day. The footage showed that while the duck laid one egg each day for eleven days, she only created a bed of down and sat on them after all had been laid. This meant that each egg received the same amount of incubation time and developed at the same rate. I was quite surprised that the 1st egg could survive in suspended animation through 10 days of day to night temperature fluctuations before incubation.

Taking over the nest: when parasite chicks are brought up by cavity nesting hosts

Cuckoos, parasitic birds that lay their eggs in the nests of other species who then raise their young, have become a classic model of host-parasite coevolution. This video summarises new research, recently published in BMC Evolutionary Biology, that extends the study of this classic paradigm to a cavity nesting host, the common redstart. It desires a partially enclosed shed, less expensive fencing, a feed hopper or trough manufactured from wooden and a sincerely constructed watering tool. Further, you must set up the ducker on a excessive, nicely-drained area of the yard. Normally each duck will require 2 to three rectangular ft floors space. Preserve them loose from all kinds of dangerous animals or predators, in particular from fox and canine. Duck’s feed: Geese typically consume nearly all varieties of meals they find fit for human consumption. You may feed your ducks with a huge variety of ingredients. A duck’s ordinary meals includes cassava, copra, corn, rice, fruits and another low value and without difficulty to be had meals. They also have the natural tendency of foraging on aquatic weeds, algae, green legumes, fungi, earthworms, maggots, snails, various sorts of bugs etc. Which immediately lessen feeding value? Water: Ducks are water chook and very keen on water. However, you could perform duck farm without presenting water for swimming. This isn't always crucial. However, provide sufficiently deep drinkers to permit the immersion of their heads and no longer themselves. Intercourse dedication: It is not so tough to determine the intercourse of newly born duckling. Rise up the tail of the duckling and press on its ass. In case you be aware there is a penis like thorn, then it will likely be male. And if now not then it will in reality be a woman duck. The very best way to determine male geese is, the tail feathers of male ducks are curled up. Duck diseases: Duck diseases less than chickens. Although they're no longer free from disease. Geese of any age can get inflamed with the aid of ailment whenever. Some sickness has excessive mortality price. Usually germ of duck diseases spreads shape one duck to any other via the contiguity of infected duck, polluted water or feed and by way of the usage of the used equipment by way of infected ducks. So, proper duck diseases prevention methods are need to to preserve the duck effective and healthful in an effort to ensure the excellent manufacturing. Duck plague, duck virus hepatitis and many others. Are fundamental dangerous duck illnesses. Ducks are a hardy species and maximum of the common illnesses can typically be nicely treated thru accurate control, insecurity and vaccination. Advertising: Earlier than marketing duck eggs, easy the dust of egg shell flawlessly. Don’t wash the eggs with water. You may easy the eggs with knife, soiled paper or towel. Use egg basket or carton for being concerned eggs from one place to every other area. You ought to pick such cartoon so that each caricature can incorporate at least 30 eggs. You may also use bamboo basket, timber box and other matters for transporting eggs to the market or every other destination. . Top10 Best Egg-Layers of all CHICKEN BREEDS with Cream Legbar, Marans, Araucana, Leghorn eggs

12:05
In my big special-video about the best egg-layers in the chicken world, I will show you ten beautiful breeds, which I have filmed in the past four years. There are no hybrid strains in this video, like "Lohmann Brown" or "Blackrocks", because I think its important to keep the true original breeds of livestock. (I totally do know that this industry chickens will allways be the best egg-layers) Some of the breeds I have chosen, are absolutely rare in our days and thats sad! They video also includes breeds which are famous for being good winter-layers, or for unusual colouring of their eggs ( so this ones are not all only a good choice because of their total number of eggs). You will see in this video: Cream Legbar chickens, Orloff chickens, Brown Leghorns Autosexing Bielefelder chickens (Kennhuhn) Araucana (South American Rumpless chickens), Sulmtaler chickens, Marans, Bantam Welsummer chickens, New Hampshire chickens Exchequer Leghorn chickens and at the beginning on my lap: "Traudi" my young Swedish Flower hen. Thank you for watching this. You can find my on Instagram: happy.huhn or #happyhuhn Robert Höck August 2017 (the most beautiful poultry breeds)

Duck Hunting: Mallards In The Swaths - Fowled Reality

Want migration updates, new videos, and waterfowl news sent to your inbox? ► Subscribe: http://bit.ly/2eSnx73 ►Get your Fowled Reality gear here - http://bit.ly/2hNO9q2 Barley farming practices in Canada offer incredible freelance duck hunting opportunities. The barley is cut then laid into swaths to allow drying. With the heads still on the plant, ducks tend to quickly find it and take advantage of the easy food source. If a hunter can happen to find one of these fields, the hunt can be incredible. We were lucky to find a swathed barley field while in Alberta. A last light scout and permission gained led us to an early morning setting up in a field that was dotted with small ponds. The swaths made for an easy hide and a plethora of food for thousands of ducks. It's was a hunt that will not soon be forgotten! Its suppose to go to +14°C today plus rain and it ended up going to +19°C and no rain just clear blue skies, lots of mud for the ducks to play in now. Going on a feed run today to pick up another 22 bags of layer mix, basically a $400 trip for the ducks for the coming month. "First Crack": An Epic 3 Days of Snow Goose Hunting in Arkansas - Fowled Reality

18:05
Want migration updates, new videos, and waterfowl news sent to your inbox? ► Subscribe: http://bit.ly/2eSnx73 ►Brand new epic snow goose video with Willow Creek Waterfowl: http://bit.ly/2qo1cTa The recipe for good snow goose hunting includes warmth, wind, and sun. We were fortunate to have all three for the first 3 days of the Arkansas Conservation Season! The huge numbers of geese in the area were picking wheat fields to the dirt. A local farmer had shot at them to get them out of his fields numerous times, but they kept coming back. This first morning had us setup in one of his fields and we had a great morning hunt until geese started landing in the field next to us. On the second day, we moved a few miles down the road to another wheat field that the farmer had been trying to keep them out of. The geese were using the edge of the field near a ditch. This gave us an ideal hide that allowed us to utilize not only the wheat field, but also rice on the other side of the ditch. Getting to hunt the first three days of the season and the fantastic weather lead to a great hunt. We were under numerous tornados and and shot a ton of snow geese! Our First Hatching Chicken Egg

04:22
On our home farm our chickens are laying eggs. The Silkie chicken is one of our farm chicken breeds. This was our first experience with letting a broody hen lay on eggs. Up to this point we have purchased all of our chickens. Some of them were purchased locally and others were purchased from an online hatchery. Hatching the eggs will save us money and give us an opportunity to watch the natural process of chickens hatching eggs.
