You Need This Tool - Episode 86 | Free Tube Chassis Tools

05:57
On this episode of you need this tool, I feature a tool you can make your self that is used when building any kind of tube chassis or part. The Tools I Use - https://www.amazon.com/shop/thefabforums Welcome to The Fab Forums. My name is Kyle Voss and I produce Custom Motorsports Fabrication content of all forms for you. Carbon Fiber, TIG Welding, Metal Shaping, Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, Custom Choppers, and everything in between. I work hard to bring you new content on a weekly basis. Here are some of the builds you can find on this channel. I have built several Chevy trucks on this channel. The first was my 1964 C10 named Crown Spoyal and the most recent C10 truck project was the 1969 I currently have named the Black Pearl. I am also finishing up a custom twin turbo Ford Mustang build I call the Gray Goose. It’s a 400 cubic inch Windsor style engine with twin 70mm turbos. I am hoping to make around the 1000 horse power mark to the tires on this particular build. Last but not least is the one off custom hot rod build called the Bibbster. This is what I call a modern day hot rod. It’s made from an old Ford Mustang foxbody, but made to look like an old school open wheeled hot rod. I also feature other fabricators and shops like Cutworm Specialties hand formed aluminum wide body kit for a BMW e46. Jeb Greenstone has also built a twin turbo, coyote powered model A style hot rod from scratch, and is currently building a Toyota TE72 wagon drift car powered by a 1UZ Lexus v8. Jeb’s custom fabrication skills are fun to watch and always make for good videos. Check out my playlist to see some or all of these builds. What is the Best Free CAD Software for Racecar Engineering?

04:44
Today we are looking at OnShape, what I consider to be the best free CAD software available for designing engineering components. It offers all the features of programs like Solidworks, but is completely free of charge and can run in your browser, so no installation issues. In fact, it's actually made by the same team as Solidworks. 2017 new Suzuki GSX-R1000 & GSX-R1000R 'Chassis Design' promo video

04:42
2017 new Suzuki GSX-R1000 & GSX-R1000R 'Chassis Design' promo video NEW GSX-R1000 AND GSX-R1000R HERALD THE RETURN OF THE KING Suzuki returned to the drawing board when it came to its flagship superbike, designing and building a brand new machine using technology developed from competition in MotoGP. The chief engineer on the project, Shinichi Sahara, used his experience as a former MotoGP technical manager and project manager to develop a new power-plant that produces 202PS at 13,200rpm – Suzuki’s most powerful GSX-R engine, ever – to make sure the GSX-R1000 can reclaim its crown as the king of sportsbikes. CHASSIS Both versions of the new GSX-R1000 use a brand new aluminium frame that is 10% lighter than the frame of the previous model. It is also 20mm narrower at its widest point that previous generation’s frame, making the new model more agile. There’s also a new swingarm with optimised rigidity to improve handling performance. Suspending the GSX-R1000R is the latest generation of Showa’s Balance Free front forks and rear shock, which give more controlled performance and improve front-end feel. The GSX-R1000 model utilises Showa’s Big Piston front forks and Showa rear shock. Front brakes are radially mounted Brembo monobloc calipers, but with new, larger Brembo discs. The 320mm discs use five T-drive and five floating pins, help to reduce lateral movement under braking. New bodywork is MotoGP-inspired, and is designed with aerodynamic efficiency first and foremost, improving both handling and top speed. The air intake ducts are positioned closer to the centre of the fairing, where the air pressure is higher, and are also larger than the previous GSX-R1000’s, increasing airflow into the air box.

The soundtrack was also processed with volume normalization, noise reduction, clipping reduction, and/or equalization (the resulting sound, though not perfect, is far less noisy than the original). http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Car_frame A frame is the main structure of the chassis of a motor vehicle. All other components fasten to it; a term for this design is body-on-frame construction. In 1920, other than a few cars based on motorcycles, every motor vehicle had a frame. Since then, nearly all cars have shifted to unit-body construction, while nearly all trucks and buses still use frames... Construction There are three main designs for frame rails. Their cross-sections include: - C-shaped - Boxed - Hat C-shape By far the most common, the C-rail has been used on nearly every type of vehicle at one time or another. It is made by taking a flat piece of steel (usually ranging in thickness from 1/8" to 3/16") and rolling both sides over to form a c-shaped beam running the length of the vehicle. Boxed Originally, boxed frames were made by welding two matching c-rails together to form a rectangular tube. Modern techniques, however, use a process similar to making c-rails in that a piece of steel is bent into four sides and then welded where both ends meet. In the 1960s, the boxed frames of conventional American cars were spot-welded here and there down the seam; when turned into NASCAR "stock car" racers, the box was continuously welded from end to end for extra strength (as was that of the Land-Rover from its first series). Hat Hat frames resemble a "U" and may be either right-side-up or inverted with the open area facing down. Not commonly used due to weakness and a propensity to rust, however they can be found on 1936-1954 Chevrolet cars and some Studebakers. Abandoned for a while, the hat frame gained popularity again when companies started welding it to the bottom of unibody cars, in effect creating a boxed frame. Design Features While appearing at first glance as a simple hunk of metal, frames encounter great amounts of stress and are built accordingly. The first issue addressed is beam height, or the height of the vertical side of a frame. The taller the frame, the better it is able to resist vertical flex when force is applied to the top of the frame. This is the reason semi-trucks have taller frame rails than other vehicles instead of just being thicker. Another factor considered when engineering a frame is torsional resistance, or the ability to resist twisting. This, and diamonding (one rail moving backwards or forwards in relation to the other rail), are countered by crossmembers. While hat-shaped crossmembers are the norm, these forces are best countered with "K" or "X"-shaped cross members....

Model A Ford Hot Rod Chassis / Frame Plans Using C4 Corvette Suspension

07:18
A short video of my hot rod chassis or frame plans using 1984 - 87 C4 Corvette suspension parts for a 1928 - 31 Model A Ford high boy. The plans can be easily adapted my many other hot rod, street rod, or rat rod applications or designs. This project basically cost my time. I purchased a wrecked 1986 Corvette Indy Pace car convertible on eBay, kept what I needed for my build and sold everything else including the wrecked and very stripped body. This in the end resulted in very tidy profit. The plans are available for FREE on my website http;//1929fordhotrod.com . Building A Tiny House From Start To Finish!

22:34
Building our tiny house on wheels together with the team from Tiny House Chattanooga in Tennessee was an amazing experience. To find out more information, including the cost and details on the products we used visit our website: http://www.livingbiginatinyhouse.com/our-tiny-house-build/ We were rushing to get the home complete so we could be on the road for some tiny house festivals around America and so the entire build was done from start to finish in only 21 days! Become a Living Big Patron: https://www.patreon.com/livingbig Tiny House Chattanooga (http://www.tinyhousechattanooga.com) were amazing. Not only did the team pull together to get the home finished to an amazingly high standard, they also allowed me to get stuck into the build with them and I was able to learn an incredible amount about tiny house building in the process. The home was constructed on a trailer from Tiny House Foundations (http://www.tinyhousefoundations.com). We follow the whole build process of this tiny house, from preparing the tiny house trailer and erecting the Volstrukt steel frame (http://www.volstrukt.com/) right the way through the completed home. MECH 3105 Design Project - Cart Chassis and Prelim Steering (Solidworks Model)

00:31
To be printed on 3D printer. Screws are stock from McMaster Carr. Group finally settled on doing a Go-Kart for our design project. Currently dimensions are 7 inches long and 3.5 inches wide without wheels/tires. Leaving room for potentially attaching RC equipment salvaged from a small car in order to get some remote control action going on. Planning on attaching an aluminum plate to the bottom of the chassis for support, as each rod is only 150 mils in diameter. Total print volume for the 3D printer at this stage is 1.41 in3, which could probably be cut done by replacing axles with threaded rods, etc. That's something for future additions. Have to port/remodel this over to ProE/Creo at some point. Not terribly excited about that, but such is life. Hopefully the ProE export in Solidworks works better than I am anticipating.

The 'Chapayev' - (Scratch) Building The Tamiya GAZ-67B, Part 2, Chassis

30:00
THE CHAPAYEV – (SCRATCH) BUILDING THE TAMIYA GAZ-67B BUILD, PART 2 ALL LINKS AT THE END OF THE DESCRIPTION! Hi, guys! I don't know what it is that makes me love this build that much! I simply can't stop working on it and I hate the breaks I have to take for eating, sleeping and even walking the dog! Did it ever happen to you? For me it's the first time! This episode will be about the chassis. I made a new front bumper, new tow hooks and two different versions of the hitch. I corrected the better part of the rear suspension – only the new leaf springs are missing. That was quite a lot of work and included many new tiny scratch built parts. When I wanted to add the pics of the new front seats I noticed that the video would be very – overly!!! – long again. Most viewers just don't have or take the time for a one hour video and I can understand it very well! I will show you the seats in the next part! All pics for the next part and maybe half of the pics for part 4 are taken! That's to show you how fast the progress is. For my way of modeling! At the end of the video you'll see a new kit I got as a gift and another kit I bought for a challenge. NOTE: I DON'T OWN THE RIGHTS OF THE MUSIC THAT'S LISTED AT THE END OF THE DESCRIPTION, BUT I CHECKED CAREFULLY AND ACCORDING TO YOUTUBE AUDIO LIBRARY IT IS FREE TO USE. COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT ISN'T INTENDED, SO IF THE OWNER OF THE RIGHTS OBJECTS, PLEASE GET IN TOUCH WITH ME (thedogfatherjt@gmail.com).
