Translations Reflections and Rotations

09:12
Transformation means movement of objects in the coordinate plane. Transformation can be done in a number of ways, including reflection, rotation, and translation. Reflection is flipping an object across a line without changing its size or shape. Rotation is rotating an object about a fixed point without changing its size or shape. Translation is sliding a figure in any direction without changing its size, shape or orientation.

And that space contains lots of things. And these things have shapes. In geometry we are concerned with the nature of these shapes, how we define them, and what they teach us about the world at large--from math to architecture to biology to astronomy (and everything in between). Learning geometry is about more than just taking your medicine ("It's good for you!"), it's at the core of everything that exists--including you. Having said all that, some of the specific topics we'll cover include angles, intersecting lines, right triangles, perimeter, area, volume, circles, triangles, quadrilaterals, analytic geometry, and geometric constructions. Wow. That's a lot. To summarize: it's difficult to imagine any area of math that is more widely used than geometry. Trigonometry Lessons Part 1: Definitions

12:52
Jane taught math at U. Mass Lowell. For those of you in high school, this is far more important than my piano tutorials! Added English subtitles so you can use the translation option. This is the most basic lesson on trigonometry. Definitions of the 6 trig functions are given with examples, ending with an extremely useful table for calculus students (11:08). For those who thought I made a mistake because you do not know that 1/sqrt2 = sqrt2 /2, I finally made a separate lesson for you! Much Ado About Square Root Two http://youtu.be/DuUGg0nkWy0 https://sites.google.com/site/pianoandmathtutorials/math-tutorials Background Music: Two Bach/Petzold Minuets The study of trigonometry (as well as any mathematical subject) should be based on a solid understanding of the basic ideas, and memorization should be kept to a minimum. For that reason we oppose using the now fashionable "sohcahtoa" approach to trigonometry, which obscures the fundamental ideas. YouTube rep advised me me to add a paragraph to each upload. Here it is: Jane, a retired university math teacher, started this volunteer project in April 2009. Positive feedback from wonderful viewers worldwide keeps her motivated. Jane is a strong advocate of reading music. She made unconventional sight-reading lessons that simplifies reading music. https://sites.google.com/site/pianoandmathtutorials/

Most importantly, the algebraic side of mathematics is a whole new kind of fun! And if that is not enough, we are going to continue with our understanding of ideas like the coordinate plane (from 5th grade) and area while beginning to derive meaning from data! The ordered pairs are followed into a cave where the words x-axis, y-axis, and origin are explored by torch light. Join us on this exciting adventure and you'll never forget how to plot ordered pairs on a coordinate plane. ★⋰⋱★⋰⋱★⋰⋱★⋰⋱★ Lyrics for Coordinate / Cartesian Plane Song "Graphing Coordinates & Ordered Pairs Song" Also known as the Cartesian Plane To plot the coordinates (two, one): go right two, jump up one, and you’re done. To plot (negative eight, positive two): go left eight, up two. That’s what we do. On the x-axis [count left or right]. On the y-axis [count up or down]. That’s how a coordinate’s point is found. To plot the coordinates (nine, five): go right nine, up five, to where you arrive. For (negative three, negative nine): go left three, down nine, where they intertwine. To plot (positive six, negative four): hop right six, down four. Let’s do one more! With the ordered pair (zero, negative three): remain at the origin; go down three with me. The coordinates are kind of like clues telling you where to plot the x and y values; and when you see them on a questionnaire, they can be called coordinates or an ordered pair. There are four quadrants; the first is in the top right corner. The second, third, and fourth go in counter clockwise order. Finally, there’s the place you begin at (zero, zero) called the origin. ____________________________________________ ____________________________________________ http://www.NUMBEROCK.com is a provider of educational videos for kids which was founded by an innovative 5th Grade teacher who envisioned a new kind of classroom where students got energized for math class. Parents of his students even noticed their children singing mathematics songs around the dinner table well beyond school hours. Seeing his students so enthusiastic when it was time for math was welcome, to say the least! But the epiphanous moment was when students were singing math songs all-day long like they were in the American Top 40! Each of these rhythmic music videos from NUMBEROCK can be enjoyed right here on our YouTube Channel. We, hereby, cordially invite you to browse through the full library and hope you'll find that the songs make the maths* remarkably more fun. We dare to believe that these math songs + videos can actually identify with elementary school children's increasingly finicky perception of what is cool and trendy. While each song is diverse in composition, most fit directly into the modern musical genres that excite young kids: genres such as Rap, R&B, Pop, Hip-Hop and even Reggae! We're curious to see how these musical math videos will be used now that we have shared them with a broader audience. But whether you use these songs as a rich teaching resource or just to brighten up the school-day a bit, we hope that as our project continues you will eventually find a relevant song for each lesson plan and concept in the math curriculum taught throughout the academic year. We'll be releasing new songs and videos regularly until eventually addressing all the math skills and concepts that a Common Core Curriculum demands from 3rd Grade to 4th Grade, and even 5th Grade to 6th Grade. Our main goal is to make teaching and learning math more fun and more interactive. SchoolHouse Rock! has done this in other subjects for us in the previous generations, and many of us still enjoy watching their YouTube Videos which teach us about Government, Science, and English amongst other subjects. Articles - a, an & the - English Grammar lesson

11:07
Articles - a, an & the - English Grammar lesson Take the quiz - http://www.learnex.in/articles-a-an-the/ The 3 articles in English are a, an and the. The learner has to decide noun-by-noun which one of the articles to use. In fact, there are 4 choices to make, because sometimes no article is necessary. Native-speakers, of course, use the articles correctly without thinking. English learners, on the other hand, need to have some guidelines for making the right choice - particularly those learners whose own language does not have articles. The guidelines that follow in this lesson should help ESL students to a basic understanding of English article use. The words a, an and the are known as articles. • We use an before words that begin with vowels (a,e,i,o,u). E.g. I found an orange boat. However there are few exceptions like the words honest and hour. In the words honest and hour the alphabet h is silent and therefore the letter o becomes the first alphabet of the word and hence we use the article an. E.g. Mr. Smith is an honest man. I will be with you in an hour. We use a before words that begin with consonants (all the letters of the alphabet except the vowels). E.g. Bumble is a baby elephant. • We use the before words that we have already spoken about. E.g. I bought an apple. The apple is very sweet.

Abdul Kalam, मेरे अध्यापक के लिए एक पाठ: Learn Hindi with subtitles - Story for Children

05:28
Buy the storybook in English (IND) for your child (with a FREE CD!) on Amazon India: https://amzn.to/2x8VQws Kalam and Ram were best friends in school but one day a teacher separated them. A touching story about how everyone learned a lesson. Story: APJ Abdul Kalam with Arun Tiwari Story Adaptation: Ananya Parthibhan Illustrations: Deepta Nangia Music: Acoustrics (Students of AR Rahaman) Translation: Madhu B Joshi Narration: Babla Kochhar Animation: BookBox FREE Apps for iPads & iPhones: http://www.bookbox.com/ios FREE Apps for Android phones & tablets: http://www.bookbox.com/android Many more stories, languages & multiple subtitle options: http://www.bookbox.com #BookBox #BookBoxHindi #Learn2Read

Potential and Kinetic Energy for Kids | #aumsum #kids #education #science #learn

04:39
Energy can neither be created nor it can be destroyed. Energy can only be converted from one form to another. The unit of energy is joules. Energy can broadly be classified as potential energy and kinetic energy. Potential energy is the energy in a body due to its position. While kinetic energy is the energy in a body due to its motion. The formula for potential energy is mgh, where m stands for mass, g stands for gravitational acceleration and h stands for height. Now, let us calculate the potential energy possessed by a boy who is at the top of a tree assuming that his mass is 30 kg, gravitational acceleration is 9.8 meters per second squared and height is 20 meters. Using the formula of potential energy, we can say that the potential energy possessed by is 5880 joules. However, when the boy begins to fall his potential energy starts getting converted into kinetic energy. Just before he lands, all his potential energy gets converted into kinetic energy. The formula to calculate kinetic energy is 1 upon 2 into m into v square, where m stands for mass and v stands for velocity. Also, don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel.
