Prednisone long term side effects belongs to a class of drugs known as corticosteroids. It decreases your immune system's response to various diseases to reduce symptoms such as swelling and allergic-type reactions. Prednisone side effects in men may weaken your immune system. A weakened immune system makes you more likely to get infections. Diabetics may require higher doses of diabetes medications while taking. Allergic reaction: Some people may develop a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) to prednisone withdrawal after 5 days that includes swelling of the airways (angioedema) that may result in shortness of breath or airway blockage. Calcium and vitamin D probably are not enough, however, and treatment with bisphosphonates such as alendronate (Fosamax) and risedronate (Actonel) may be necessary. Calcitonin (Miacalcin) also is effective. The development of osteoporosis and the need for treatment can be monitored using bone density scans. Adrenal insufficiency and weaning off prednisone: Prolonged use of prednisone and other corticosteroids causes the adrenal glands to atrophy (shrink) and stop producing the body's natural corticosteroid, cortisol. tapering off prednisone after short term use Necrosis of hips and joints: A serious complication of long-term use of allergic reaction Prednisone is aseptic necrosis of the hip joints. Aseptic necrosis is a condition in which there is death and degeneration of the hip bone. It is a painful condition that ultimately can lead to the need for surgical replacement of the hip. Aseptic necrosis also has been reported in the knee joints. The estimated incidence of aseptic necrosis among long-term users of corticosteroids is 3%-4%. Patients taking corticosteroids who develop pain in the hips or knees should report the pain to their doctors promptly. Patient Advice Medical Disclaimer: It is always advised that Patients should check with their healthcare provider before starting any new medications, including herbal supplements and over the counter products, or receiving any vaccinations.

Knowledge about this drug and it's side effects can make it much easier to deal with and that's the goal! I hope you all find some info you can use and please feel free to message or comment any questions you have and I'll be sure to answer them:) **Disclaimer** I'm not a doctor just someone who has dealt with Prednsone over the last 20 years so unless something is super obvious, please talk to your doctor before implementing any of these techniques! Let's stay healthy together!

I receive too many to keep up (several hundred per week), and legally I can't offer specific medical advice to people who aren't my patients (see below). If you want to ask a question about a specific injury you have, leave it in the comments below, and I might answer it in an upcoming Ask Dr. Geier video. The concern that has received the most attention is the risk of tendon rupture. Fluoroquinolones, including ciprofloxacin (Cipro) and levofloxacin (Levaquin), are often used to treat urinary infections. These antibiotics have been associated with increased risks of tendon ruptures. Antibiotic-associated diarrhea can occur when you take antibiotics. These medications can alter the normal bacteria in the G.I. system. In order to decrease your chance of having diarrhea, your doctor can keep the duration of antibiotic treatment as short as possible that still eliminates the infection. Antibiotics that have been linked to photosensitivity are a concern for anyone who plays outdoor sports or exercises outside. Tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones and sulfa drugs are believed to carry this risk. It is possible that you could develop a serious sunburn on body parts exposed to the sun or have an increased risk of skin cancer if you use these medications. Theoretically you should avoid these antibiotics or use sunscreen and wear fully protective clothing. By no means does this list of concerns represent medical advice. If you have an infection and require antibiotic treatment, you should ask the doctor about possible complications with those drugs, especially as they pertain to exercise and sports. Please remember, while I appreciate your questions, I cannot and will not offer specific medical advice by email, online, on my show, or in the comments at the end of these posts. My responses are meant to provide general medical information and education. Please consult your physician or health care provider for your specific medical concerns.

Having Trouble TAPERING Off of Prednisone? Try This One Simple Technique!
***TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR FIRST BEFORE TRYING THIS TECHNIQUE! PREDNISONE IS A VERY DANGEROUS DRUG WHEN USED IMPROPERLY!*** Weaning off of Prednisone can be difficult for some people, especially when you get to the lower dosages. So this is what I did to lessen any withdrawal symptoms. Instead of taking 10mg every 24hrs. I started taking 10mg every 26 hours, then every 28 and so on until I was taking 10mg of prednisone every 36 hours. This essentially mimicked in my body taking 7.5mg. of prednisone every 24 hours. You can apply this technique with any number or variations depending on your dosage. Remember though talk to your doctor first before attempting any of this! Prednisone is a dangerous drug if not used properly! Let me know your thoughts in the comment section down below and be sure to check out my other Prednisone videos on my channel! Treat and Stop Acid Reflux with Natural Medicine - Dr. Patti Kim, ND
Low stomach acid causes most Acid Reflux symptoms, according to Dr. Patti Kim, ND (Naturopathic Doctor). In this video interview, Dr. Kim discusses: 1) The symptoms of Acid Reflux, including burning, heat or pain sensation in chest and/or throat area, regurgitation, belching due to the sphincter being weakened, feeling full sooner than normal, chronic sore throats or laryngitis. 2) The conventional treatment for Acid Reflux, including calcium carbonate antacids such as Tums, Maalox, Mylanta; or proton pump inhibitors such as Prilosec, Nexium, Prevacid and Protonix. 3) That neutralizing stomach acid or stopping stomach acid production with artificial drugs can be harmful to the body because of the numerous side effects associated with the drugs, and that this type of conventional symptom treatment does not treat the root cause. 4) That stress is a primary cause of lowering stomach acid. 5) That stomach acids leak into the esophagus because of a weak sphincter (often due to stress). 6) Factors that influence acid reflux: poor nutrition, foods that cause inflammation, eating spicy foods and alcohol. 7) Natural Medicine treatment of acid reflux includes: stomach pH may be tested; goal is to raise stomach acid (or lower if too high) through dietary changes, exercise, herbs, nutritional supplements, digestive supplements and Homeopathic remedies. 8) Especially important is removal of processed foods and eating whole, organic foods. 9) Dr. Kim has a great success rate of stopping acid reflux: most of her patients are symptom free within a week. This technique will show you how to cure a sore throat within 2 minutes without any pills, herbs or drugs. Dr. Eric Berg DC show you how to relieve a sore throat fast. You will now be able to get rid of the pain from sore through simply by pressing on certain points in the back of your neck. This increase nerve flow, circulation and even lymph drainage. The key is pressing on the exact opposite part of your next. STEP 1 Rate your pain from a scale from 0 to 10 (10 being the worst, 0 being no pain) STEP 2 Draw an imaginary circle from the sore throat to the back part of your neck. STEP 3 Press equally on the exact opposite points on the back part of your neck. Do this for 2 minutes. To ensure you are on the correct points, you will feel a very tight, stiff and ridged area while you are doing this as well being very tender. The exact opposite point where the sore throat is will be extremely tender. Adjust location by moving upward and downward until all stiffness is loosened up. STEP 4 Re-rate the pain in your sore throat. SPECIAL NOTE: If the pain reduces, but does not fully go away, ask the person to point to the new location of the pain as it may have shifted up or down. Side Effects Of Fluconazole
Thank you for tuning into my video today. Today I’m going to talk about Fluconazole. Fluconazole is a pharmaceutical antifungal drug. It’s also known by the name of Diflucan. Fluconazole is also present in a vaginal cream called Canesten that many women tend to use. I’ve seen many patients over the years who’ve taken Diflucan. Some with reasonably good success, but in most case, the drug has been taken recurrently with very, very poor long-term results. The best result you’re going to get from any pharmaceutical drug usually is the very first time you take it. The body’s not used to the drug. It will have a powerful effect and give the desired result. But then what happens is the drug is discontinued, so then the symptoms come back, and the drug is used again and again and again. And eventually, the body builds resistance to Diflucan. The resistance is well documented. I’ve seen some patients who take this drug weekly or monthly for years on end with bad results. And in many cases, they end up with significant side effects, particularly hepatic or liver side effects because Diflucan affects Phase II or the glucoronidation pathway of the liver and it can make a person quite nauseous or sick. They can get skin reactions. They can get headaches. They can get insomnia. They can get a whole range of different side effects from Diflucan. I’ve got a pharmaceutical drug guide here and I’m going to read out some of the common side effects of Diflucan or fluconazole. Side effects include gastrointestinal upset, headaches, elevated liver function test, abnormal vision, skin odor, skin rashes, hot flashes, weakness, thirst, shaking in the body, polyuria, which means urinating a lot, renal pain or pain in the lower pain, kidney pain, dizziness, seizures, skin itching, sweating, fevers, drug eruptions, more skin rashes, sleeping disturbances and insomnia, nervousness, pain, female sexual dysfunction, menstrual disorders, respiratory disorders, deafness, heartburn, high blood pressure, liver damage. Why the hell would you want to take a drug that creates all these problems just to give you some temporary relief from a vaginal yeast infection or some kind of a yeast infection you might have? There are natural ways you can get on top of these infections without resorting to drugs. Have a look at yeastinfection.org for some natural solutions. If you’re thinking about an antifungal drug and you want to get some results but don’t want the side effects with it, have a look at the product I developed called Canxida. It’s going to be more powerful than fluconazole. You don’t need to take it for years on end. You’re not going to get all of these side effects that I’ve just read out here. It’s certainly worth a shot. Think about it. If you’re going to take fluconazole, take it once, but don’t take it recurrently. There’s no point in it. You’re wasting your time doing that. You’re only going to get drug resistance and also liver toxicity from taking it. I hope that answers a frequently asked question I get on this particular drug fluconazole. Thank you for tuning in.

How to Treat Poison Ivy
Watch more First Aid: When Nature Attacks videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/22395-How-to-Treat-Poison-Ivy Uh… did you just sit in a patch of poison ivy? Yeah you did! Now what? Warning Seek medical attention immediately if you experience a severe allergic reaction to poison ivy, such as a swelling of the mouth or nose, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or a high fever. Step 1: Clean the area with rubbing alcohol and cold water If you’ve been exposed to poison ivy and you act quickly, you may be able to avoid an outbreak. Pour rubbing alcohol on the area that came in contact with the plant, then rinse with cold running water. Tip Do not rinse with warm or hot water, which can cause the plant’s oils to be absorbed more quickly. Also, to avoid spreading the oils, don’t take a bath, and avoid showering without first rinsing. Step 2: Wash with soap and water Use soap and water to thoroughly wash the area. This might help prevent the outbreak. Scrub under your fingernails, and immediately remove and wash your clothes (and anything else that might have the plant’s oils on it) in hot water. Tip If you have one on hand, use a poison ivy-specific cleanser, like Tecnu or Zanfel. Step 3: Know the signs of a poison ivy outbreak Be on the lookout for the symptoms, which appear between four and 48 hours after exposure. They can include redness, itching, swelling, and blisters. Although you won’t be able to cure the rash, you can help reduce the itching. Warning If an outbreak covers your entire body, or is on your eyes, mouth, or genitals, see a doctor. Step 4: Use anti-itch products Once the outbreak has begun, use over-the-counter anti-itch products, like hydrocortisone cream, calamine lotion, and menthol creams (like Sarna). See which works best for you, and don’t scratch any blisters! Step 5: Apply cool compresses Applying cool compresses to the affected area can help relieve irritation. Also, instead of water, you can use an astringent solution with aluminum sulfate, like Domeboro. Tip A natural remedy is to rub on the sap of the jewelweed plant, also known as touch-me-not. It’s found in damp, shady areas, often near poison ivy. From summer to fall, look for orange trumpet-like flowers. Step 6: Take a colloidal oatmeal bath Still suffering? Soak in a cool tub filled with water and a colloidal oatmeal treatment (like Aveeno). Step 7: Take an oral antihistamine before bed Before bed, take an oral antihistamine, like Benadryl, to help with the symptoms and make you drowsy. Step 8: See a doctor If the blisters begin to ooze pus, if you develop a fever above 100°, or if the outbreak doesn’t clear up within a few weeks, see a doctor. You may have caused a secondary infection by scratching and could need antibiotics. Did You Know? Global warming has made poison ivy 50% to 75% stronger and more toxic than it was 50 years ago.

Now, the Osnabrück-native, superstar DJ and producer is set to release his highly-anticipated follow-up longplayer: Almost exactly one year after the release of his globally acclaimed breakthrough debut, Schulz is back on track with yet another stroke of genius: Promisingly entitled “SUGAR”, album no. 2 will be released later this year on September 18th! Earlier this July, Schulz was awarded Triple Gold for his tremendous hit single “Prayer in C”, Platinum for “Sun Goes Down (feat. Jasmine Thompson)” as well as Gold for his debut album “Prayer” in his home territory – just 3 on a list of over 60(!) awards already amassed by the German deep house shooting star. In light of his upcoming new longplayer “SUGAR”, Robin Schulz is now about to take the next step in his amazingly successful career: After his airplay #1 and global smash single “Headlights” (feat. Ilsey) which delivered the first taste of his new album’s sound, the twentysomething is set to release the eponymous second single on July 17th: “Sugar”, featuring 19-year-old Canadian singer Francesco Yates. Yates is widely considered the next big popstar in the making and his soulful falsetto vocals are quickly gaining praise by superstars such as Pharrell Williams or Justin Bieber. That being said, Schulz is more than likely to build on his peerless, record-breaking achievements of the past 18 months: Last year’s mega hit “Prayer in C” landed Robin Schulz the #1 spot on iTunes in 40 countries and topped the national singles charts in 17 countries, but that was just the beginning. His #1 remix of “Waves” earned him a Grammy nomination, while his Top 7 album “Prayer” received the German ECHO award for best “Dance National”, in addition to a completely sold-out US tour. Today, Schulz remains the first German artist to attain the #1 spot in the global Shazam charts. He runs the most successful German YouTube music channel with a combined 330 million views, while generating downloads and streams in excess of nine figures. On the heels of his recent tour of the U.S., Canada, South Africa and Australia, Robin Schulz will be headlining major electro & dance festivals all over the world throughout the summer, such as Belgium’s Tomorrowland Festival. http://www.warnermusic.de http://www.youtube.com/warnermusicDE

Warning: Dangerous Fish Oil Omega 3 Side Effects
4 IMPORTANT steps to follow: 1. Make sure that the supplement is made in the USA or Europe. 2. Make sure that it has DHA docosahexaenoic acid in it. It is an expensive but important ingredient and cheap, low quality manufacturers avoid it. 3. Certified certified and CERTIFIED always use certified food supplements - it is your quality guarantee. 4. You know that high quality fish is expensive. Quality fish oil capsules should cost at least 35-40$ per bottle (50-60 caps.). If that would put you to an uncomfortable situation financially please look for another supplement. Brands I trust and recommend to my patients and friends/family. 1. http://www.healthyware.com - I've been buying their supplements for my family for years and I must say they always deliver what they promise - quality. The only unpleasant problem with them is that due to their popularity they are often out of stock. Their official website is http://www.healthyware.com Omega three fish oil is healthy choice for everyone. Nonetheless fish oil minor side effects can happen if you take it in too high applications. One of the most typical side-effects is that fishy belch that leaves a particularly upsetting taste in one's mouth. Even, in small dosages, this fishy belch can happen. The nice news is this is fixable. When you purchase the proper quality omega3 supplement, you need to get that upsetting belching or fish breadth. Another possible complication is bleeding. Higher doses can end up in nose bruising and bleeds. This is due to the fact that this particular product can forestall the blood from clots. Taking the incorrect sort of fish oil, specifically cod liver oil, can cause over consuming of A vitamin. Vitamin is an exceedingly full of cod liver oil. Taking an excessive amount of may cause liver damage, dry skin and headaches. So once more, it's very important the best quality of omega 3 fish oil be used. Diarrhea is an additional possible consequence of over intake of this particular supplement. One of the most important concern about using this particular supplement may be the pollutants that could be inside a capsule. This amount of fishes live in polluted waters, those contaminants are moved through the fish towards the omega-3 fatty acids capsule. Then when you are taking a capsule, you might be eating dangerous pollutants like mercury and lead which can do serious damage to your fitness But again, by consuming the right quality product, it'll be unnecessary to fret about consuming these pollutants. Why? Because they will not be in it. It would've been removed by the processing. Cod liver oil sadly isn't of the right quality. Bottom line, be careful about what type of fish you obtain your fish oil from and your dosages. Taking about 6 a day is counseled for getting the wonderful health benefits and not one of the minor side effects. fish oil side effect fish oil side effects side effects fish oil fish oil side effects acne fish oil side effects bleeding fish oil side effects bloating fish oil side effects children benefits of fish oil capsules best fish oil capsules carlson fish oil capsules eskimo 3 fish oil capsules fish oil capsules fish oil capsules 1000 mg fish oil capsules 1000mg fish oil capsules 1200 mg fish oil capsules 1400 mg fish oil capsules 2000 fish oil capsules acne fish oil capsules and weight loss fish oil capsules benefits fish oil capsules burpless fish oil capsules calories fish oil side effects constipation fish oil side effects depression fish oil side effects diarrhea fish oil side effects dogs fish oil side effects fish oil dosage fish oil side effects fish oil supplements fish oil side effects gas fish oil side effects headache fish oil side effects in dogs fish oil side effects in men best fish oil carlson fish oil fish oil fish oil (omega 3) side effects fish oil 1000mg fish oil and cholesterol fish oil benefits fish oil benefits and side effects fish oil capsules fish oil capsules damage your liver fish oil depression fish oil dosage fish oil dosage for dogs fish oil for dogs fish oil for kids fish oil capsules fish oil health benefits fish oil liquid

Home Remedies To Cure Bronchitis
Clic Here: http://bronchitis-home-remedy.lir25.com - Home remedies to Cure Bronchitis The viruses that cause bronchitis can be passed to others much the same way cold and flu viruses are: An infected person coughs, spraying viral particles either into the air, where they can be breathed in by others, or onto their own hands, where they can be picked up when the person shakes hands with others. There are some home remedies that you can use: Lemons These help rid the respiratory system of bacteria and mucus. Make a cup of lemon tea by grating 1 teaspoon lemon rind and adding it to 1 cup boiling water. Steep for 5 minutes. Or, you can boil a lemon wedge. Strain into a cup and drink. For a sore throat that comes from coughing, add 1 teaspoon lemon juice to 1 cup warm water and gargle. This helps bring up phlegm. Bay Leaf It does act as an expectorant and is best taken in tea. To make the tea, tear a leaf (fresh or dried) and steep in 1 cup boiling water. Another bronchitis remedy with bay leaf is to soak some leaves in hot water and apply as a poultice to the chest. Cover with a kitchen towel. As it cools, rewarm. Savory This potent, peppery herb is said to rid the lungs of mucus. Use it as a tea by adding 1/2 teaspoon savory to 1 cup boiling water. Drink only once a day. Thyme This herb helps rid the body of mucus, strengthens the lungs to fight off infection, and acts as a shield against bacteria. Use it dried as a seasoning or make a tea by adding 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon thyme (it's a very strong herb, so you don't need much) to 1 cup boiling water. Steep for 5 minutes and sweeten with honey. If you have thyme oil on hand, dilute it (2 parts olive or corn oil to 1 part thyme oil) and rub on the chest to cure congestion. Are Over the Counter and Prescription Strength Medications for Eczema Safe?
FULL ECZEMA INFO AT: http://www.VanishEczema.net What is eczema? Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is a chronic allergic condition in which the skin develops areas of itchy, scaly rashes. What are the symptoms of eczema? Eczema can occur on almost any part of the body but is most common on the face, scalp, inside of elbows, knees, ankles, and hands. It typically appears as extremely itchy patches on the skin. Eczema can get worse when scratched; in fact, itchy skin may appear normal until scratched; the irritating action may then cause the characteristic rash and scales to develop. Other symptoms include: Areas of dry, leathery skin Blisters that ooze and crust over Redness and inflammation in the affected area Scratching can introduce infectious agents into the skin, leading to secondary complications including bacterial infection and permanent scars. What are the causes of eczema? Eczema is caused by a reaction similar to that of an allergy and can promote chronic inflammation. The condition will often wax and wane and accompany other allergic conditions such as asthma. In some cases, a specific substance, such as certain soaps, detergents, or metals, dust mites, and animal dander, can trigger eczema. For many people, however, there is no known allergen that causes this reaction. Eczema can be worsened by dry climates, exposure to water, temperature changes, and stress. Who is likely to develop eczema? Eczema is particularly common in infants and children. A person's risk of developing the problem also increases if he or she has a family history of eczema or allergic conditions such as asthma and hay fever. How is eczema diagnosed? Physicians usually diagnose eczema by conducting a physical exam and asking questions about the patient's symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, and habits. What is the conventional treatment for eczema? Conventional doctors often recommend a combination of self-care techniques and medical therapies to treat eczema. First, people with eczema should avoid any potential triggers that appear to make symptoms worse. Take warm, not hot, showers or baths. Use soap as sparingly as possible, and apply a soothing, hypoallergenic moisturizer immediately after bathing. Physicians may also suggest using over-the-counter anti-itch lotions or low-potency steroid creams. When these measures don't alleviate eczema, the doctor may prescribe one or more of the following treatments: Steroids. Prescription steroid creams and ointments - and, in severe cases, oral steroid medications - can relieve the itching and inflammation of eczema, but they can have side effects such as skin thinning and are not recommended for long-term use. Immunomodulators. Newer prescription creams called calcineurin inhibitors (such as pimecrolimus and tacrolimus) work by modulating the body's immune response. Although these drugs don't have the same side effects as steroids, their long-term safety isn't yet clear. What therapies does http://www.VanishEczema.net recommend for eczema? In addition to the self-care approaches mentioned above, it is recommended considering the following natural treatments for eczema: Allergy is ultimately an inflammatory condition and diet can profoundly influence inflammation throughout the body. Follow an anti-inflammatory diet and avoid pro-inflammatory ingredients. Skin disorders are often strongly linked to psychological stress; conversely, stress-relieving techniques can often be extraordinarily effective in providing relief. Try visualization or hypnotherapy to take advantage of the mind/body connection in allergic skin disorders. Try aloe vera gel, calendula lotion or cream, and chaparral lotion on irritated skin. Take gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). This unusual fatty acid is found in evening primrose oil, black currant oil and borage oil but is very hard to come by in the diet. GLA appears to have nourishing effects on skin, hair, and nails. Take 500 mg twice a day and expect to wait six to eight weeks to see results. Eliminate milk and all milk products, which may irritate the immune system. In addition, therapies in both homeopathy and traditional Chinese medicine have proven effective for many skin conditions and are worth exploring. See the websites of the National Center for Homeopathy and the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine to find practitioners.

STRESS HIVES is also known as a stress rash and occurs when you have too much stress and anxiety in your life. Learn which stress hives treatment works best at http://www.hives.org/stress-hives.php What Are Stress Hives? Stress hives are red, raised swollen areas and bumps (AKA stress bumps) that appear on your skin, that develop due to too much stress or anxiety in your life. Stress hives can itch like crazy, giving you the feeling like ants or spiders are crawling over your skin. The only way to get rid of your stress hives is to remove all the stress and anxiety form your life. Because this is a near impossibility for most people, there is one stress hives treatment, known as OxyHives, that can be taken that reduces the swelling and itchy feeling within 2 hours. Can Stress Cause Hives? Definitely! A stress rash can occur anytime you are feeling over stressed and anxious. Too much stress in your life will adversely affect your immune system which will cause it to start sending histamine to fight what is ailing you. Unfortunately, stress isn't something that the immune system can "fight off", so the end result is that you get stress induced hives. In essence, those itchy bumps all over your face, neck, chest, arms, legs and pretty much your whole body sometimes, are caused by stress. Learn what causes hives at http://www.hives.org/hives-causes.php What Are The Symptoms of a Stress Rash? Quite often, they are incredibly itchy and can also have a prickly or burning sensation when touched. Don't scratch them! Don't be surprised if your stress rash appears on your face, neck and chest, as that is where I get mine. Others get them on their arms and legs. Stress hives can be as small as a pencil eraser or as BIG as a dinner plate! Often the smaller hives meld with the bigger hives to make one big messy outbreak that looks absolutely terrible. However, with the right over the counter medication, like OxyHives, you'll be able to get rid of them in no time. How To Get Rid Of Hives Fast If you want to remove stress hives from your life forever, then all you need to do is remove all the stress and anxiety form your life. If only it were that easy, right? Breathlessness in the Older Adult: Is It Asthma?
Older adults may consider their breathlessness to be a frustrating but natural consequence of ageing, unaware that respiratory disease might be the cause. Yet the prevalence of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) both increase with age. The risk of dying from asthma also increases with age, and acute asthma attacks are more rapidly fatal in older adults. However, up to one-third of elderly people with asthma are not identified as such by their doctors through a combination of under-reporting of symptoms and complexity of diagnosis. COPD is also under-diagnosed in the elderly. This program will cover the differential diagnosis and management of asthma in older adults with breathlessness, with interrelated discussion of COPD. The distinction between asthma and COPD is important, even when they co-exist, as there are significant differences in the optimal management of each condition. Clinical case studies will be used to frame the discussion. Produced by the Rural Health Education Foundation http://www.rhef.com.au/

Cure Digestion and Melt Pounds with This Wonder Food (and it's REAL), #79
Dr. Michael Ash goes into detail explaining the correlation between gut health and chronic illnesses. He provides some very good tips to prevent and reverse illnesses and talks about one very specific fruit we should all be consuming (and is probably sitting on every countertop in America right now). He's scientifically explains everything, but in a way we can all understand.   What should we know about the mucosal immune system? The vast majority of people in the world will die of inflammatory chronic illnesses. The primary mechanism for making those conditions develop is an up-regulation of the immune system. And the largest part of our immune system is the referred to mucosal immune system. In simple terms, it's all the tissues in our body that are wet: eyes, mouth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, liver and kidneys. All these have fluids over the surface performing roles. We share all the cells in them with creatures like bacteria, viruses, worms and sometimes parasites. Some are helpful and some are problematic.   The outside world reaches in to us primarily through the mucosal immune system. The better that system is to interpret the outside world, the more reliable we can be in terms of our health. The mucosal system is our body's diplomat, taking charge and care of our body.   What can we do to prepare our mucosal immune system to be the best? Look at our digestive tract first. What we are putting in our body is very important in terms of how our body is going to act. First what we eat is important. Consume foods that have messages that our body recognizes. And then, what we drink. If our system does not receive foods that our body recognizes (plant based foods grown in good soil), our body's response is to produce inflammation, acting as a defense mechanism. Simply getting older we produce more inflammation. So we should consume counter regulatory defenses as we age.   So what foods should we consume? Plant based foods carry messages that animal based foods do not. So the more plant based foods we consume, the better prepared our bodies will be.   Vegetables that are slightly bitter in their content are more densely packed with those keys that our immune system is looking for than those that are sweeter. Crunchy veggies like brussels sprouts, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, parsnips, etc. which are stiff. Can be cooked or steamed, 3 to 4 times a week. These are remarkable! They are miraculous to our body to protect us against risk. If we don't consume these foods, we can survive but we cannot survive effectively. Therefore, other risks and challenges to our immune system are much more difficult to turn off and take under control. This then manifests into chronic ill health like heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, dementia, Alzheimer's, eye dysfunction, problems of reproduction and lots of gastrointestinal issues (IBS, bloating, diarrhea, cancer).   Fruits that contain those good messages for our bodies, like the veggies mentioned above are apples. Eating apples can be medicinal. Cook them by cleaning them, peel, cut into cubes, drop in a pan and cook with cinnamon and raisins and water, simmer (about 6 apples), soften and loose shape but not completely disappear. Referred to as stewed apples or applesauce. You'll see a gelatinous fluid called pectin. Pectin is a raw material for bacteria inside the gastrointestinal tract. When fed with pectin they manufacture fatty acids. The organisms look for the pectin and produce a substrate, the most powerful anti-inflammatory chemical a human can produce. A study done showed that consuming 3 apples a day was the same as taking 10 mg of prednisone in the treatment of inflammatory gut problems, preventing illnesses that can ultimately create cancer. Recommend 2 to 3 apples a day cooked, if you're ill. For prevention, 1 a day. Raw is not the same as if it's cooked. Make it for dessert and feed everyone!!     Get your FREE download here, Review Article: Is This a Perfect Functional Meal for Mucosal Tolerance, provided by Dr. Michael Ash to learn more about apples, the scientific rationale behind it, allergy protection, antibiotic impact, phenolic compounds, apple skins, inflammation control, the brain benefits, his applesauce recipe and more.   What other things can we do to prevent inflammation in our body? Avoid additional sugars. Anything that has been refined, for example sugar, corn and other sources, the less you consume of them the lower your risk of developing long term chronic illness.   Vegetables and fruits can convey benefits. So can meat, it does have a role in humans, but make it grass fed proteins. The Mediterranean style diet receives high votes because statistically it proves to be successful.   Fats comes in many forms. Simplistically, fat has been vilified and is...

My dog is walking in circles and standing in corners, UPDATE PROBLEM FOUND !!!
P.S She tries to eat feces in the video and i scold her!!! If your dog is walking in circles, standing in corners staring at the wall , panting constantly, flinching to sudden loud noises like clapping your hands, flinching when you pat their lower or upper back, holding their front paw up and whining like their hurting inside their chest, seem drunk and confused about to fall over when walking, will not make a correction when there front paw is turned back by you doing a balance observation test, licking the floor of their dog house, making a funny chomping sound with their mouth, skittish of other dogs, bumping into walls, will not come when called, sleeping all the time and seem to change overnight from a healthy dog to being depressed they probably have a brain tumor ! Misty's tumor was on her left side and she kept walking in left circles. The tumor was so far advanced the vet said it would be best to put her down and end her suffering which we did on 7-23-12. I am updating this video listing her symptoms in hopes it finds you if your dog has the same problem, If i had found out earlier what the problem had been she might have been saved, But since the Vet's (and that is plural !!!) Could not do anything but stick their finger up her butt and charge me $200.00 !!! and Could not tell me what was wrong I figure ill do their job for them in hopes of saving your dog ! I did massive amounts of key word research online listing her symptoms on and off for three months without fail and i could not find any information that is as informative as this video. Unfortunately for the dog no one has been smart enough to do what I am doing now !!! Best wishes and i hope this video finds you before you spend a boat load of money at multiple vet's offices on x-ray's and office visits only to be told its her thyroid or we just do not know! They also put her on prednisone which only prolonged her suffering !!! We found the the tumor by (SELF EXAMINATION) of her upper skull which was raised on the left hand side while waiting on the vet to come into the waiting room ,this was our third vet and sixth as a total visits. We don't know if this tumor would have been detectable at the beginning or not so have the vet do an x-ray of the brain, and if he says no tumor i would get a second opinion. if they are doing left circles x-ray the left side in more detail , same for the right hand side for right circles. Well i hope this video helps you and as always have a good day !!! This video was prev. listed as What is wrong with my dog!!! May you rest in peace Misty you will be missed.
