Muscle Relaxants

00:09
NSAIDs help control both jaw pain and inflammation in the TMJ, such as ibuprofen (e.g., Advil). However, muscle relaxants are sometimes used to help relieve jaw pain and discomfort. They work by relaxing the muscles of the jaw and face and help decrease muscle spasms. Diazepam, also known as Valium, is a commonly used muscle relaxant. Tricyclic anti-depressants, such as amitriptyline (e.g., Elavil) help reduce muscle and soft issue strain of the jaw and face.

You can use essential oils, like pine, rosemary, lavender or juniper for massaging as it will provide the necessary warmth to the neck muscles along with increasing the blood circulation. A gentle massage greatly helps in relaxing the muscles while reducing the stiffness. 2. Heating Pad: Place a heating pad over your sore neck. It is a useful remedy which will increase the blood flow while decreasing the stiffness of the neck. 3. Ice Packs: Crush some ice and wrap it in a poly bag. Now, cover the stiff part of neck with a small cloth or towel, then place the wrapped ice over it. Ice is really useful for stiff neck pain relief. It also reduces the inflammation caused due to the soreness. 4. Over-the-counter Medicines: To relieve the pain caused due to a stiff neck, you can also use over-the-counter medication, such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen. However, avoid aspirin for kids, who are less than the age of 18, as aspirin causes Reye’s syndrome, which results in swelling in the brain. 5. Epsom Salt: Soak Epsom salt in your bath water and take a bath with it. This salt contains magnesium and sulphate, which regulates the activity of various enzymes in the body. This remedy helps in increasing the blood circulation, reducing the muscle tension and stress. 6. Hot Water Shower: Keep your neck under a shower of warm to little hot water for about 4-5 minutes. Don’t turn or move your neck while doing this. This is one of the best cures for stiff neck muscles. 7. Apply Balm: A number of balms, like analgesic and rubefacient are available in the market to get rid of the pain, caused due to a stiff neck. But, before picking any of them, keep your symptoms in mind. You can also use a pain relieving gel, called ‘Biofreeze’, which is available in the market. It is best suited for muscles spasms and stiff neck and shoulders. Biofreeze is a non-oily odourless gel that works quite well on sore muscles. The main ingredient used to make it is a South American holly shrub, called ‘Ilex’ 8. Apple Cider Vinegar: Soak a paper napkin in some apple cider vinegar and place it on your neck. Leave it for few hours. Apple cider vinegar is an excellent remedy for stiff neck muscles as it gives great relief in just one application. 9. Exercise: Exercising helps a lot. Gently move your neck in a circular motion. You can also move your neck in back and forth position. Side to side movement is also good. You can also try moving your neck in a pattern of digit-8. But, make sure it doesn’t pain. If it pains, don’t do these exercises. 10. Skin Scrapping: This method needs assistance of another person. You will require massage oil and a spoon. Spread few drops of massage oil on the area and gently scrape the skin of your neck with a spoon. Make sure, it doesn’t cause more pain in the muscles. Skin scrapping is a great stiff neck treatment, which improves the blood circulation while decreasing the stiffness of the neck. 11. Acupuncture: Try acupuncture exercise. It helps a lot in giving relief from neck soreness. 12. Magnesium Tablets: Take 1 magnesium tablet on the daily basis to boost up your immunity. It will also help in alleviating stiff neck. 13. Celery Leaves: Blend celery leaves and extract its juice. Drink it daily to get relief from pain, caused due to a stiff neck. 14. Horse Radish (Sahijan): In order to relieve stiffness of the neck, apply fresh horse radish. Leave it for a few minutes; otherwise, it may lead to burning or numbness. The Painkilling Cayenne Cream Recipe That Anyone With Stiff Joints Or Sore Muscles Needs To Try

04:39
The Painkilling Cayenne Cream Recipe That Anyone With Stiff Joints Or Sore Muscles Needs To Try Ready to make a soothing muscle rub for back pain that is natural and free from chemicals? Well, great. Today I am going to share with you a homemade, soothing muscle rub that is easy and fairly quick to make at home. Many of these things you may already have in your kitchen. And the few you don’t, you can easily find at a natural food store or coop. Now you may be wondering why cayenne would be the main ingredient for a muscle and joint rub. Great question! Why Cayenne Works for Muscle Pain Capsaicin, one of cayenne’s active constituents, stimulates the release of something known as “substance P” in the body. Substance P is released from nerve cells and the inflammatory cells of the immune system. Substance P is most noted for its role in helping the body perceive pain, and in stimulating the release of various cytokines to induce a healthy inflammatory response. Cayenne also dilates blood vessels, which allows for more anti-inflammatory cells to make their way to the affected area. When substance P is released and subsequently depleted, as is the case when you repeatedly apply cayenne, the threshold of pain in that area increases. This is also known as pain desensitization. (1,2) What happens is the area actually feels less painful. This allows you to take some much-needed steps to helping that part of the body heal. Whether it be walking, stretching, exercises or physical therapy, with the assistance of cayenne, you can help your body heal a lot sooner! https://youtu.be/-Im4Zh6yYbk

The 3-Minute "Whats' Better for Neck Pain, Medication or Chiropractic" Video

03:05
Although both medication and chiropractic are utilized by neck pain sufferers, not everyone wants to or can take certain medications due to unwanted side effects. For those who aren’t sure what to do, wouldn’t it be nice if research was available that could answer the question posted above? Let’s take a look! When people have neck pain, they have options as to where they can go for care. Many seek treatment from their primary care physician PCP. The PCP’s approach to neck pain management usually results in a prescription that may include an anti-inflammatory drug like ibuprofen or Naproxen, a muscle relaxant like Flexeril / cyclobenzaprine, and/or a pain pill like hydrocodone / Vicodin. The choice of which medication a PCP recommends hinges on the patient’s presentation, patient preference driven from advertisements or prior experiences, and/or the PCP’s own preference. Although it’s becoming increasingly common to have a PCP refer a neck pain patient for chiropractic care, this still does not happen for all neck pain patients in spite of strong research supporting the significant benefits of spinal manipulation to treat neck pain. One such study compared spinal manipulation, acupuncture, and anti-inflammatory medication with the objective of assessing the long-term benefits at one year of these three approaches in patients with chronic 13 weeks or more of neck pain. The study randomly divided 115 patients into one of three groups that were all treated for nine weeks. Comparison at the one-year point showed that ONLY those who received spinal manipulation had maintained long-term benefits based on a review of seven main outcome measures. The study concludes that for patients with chronic neck pain, spinal manipulation was the ONLY treatment that maintained a significant long-term (one-year) benefit after nine weeks of treatment! In a 2012 study published in medical journal The Annals of Internal Medicine, 272 acute or sub-acute neck pain patients received one of three treatment approaches: medication, exercise with advice from a health care practitioner, or chiropractic care. Participants were treated for twelve weeks, with outcomes assessed at 2, 4, 8, 12, 26, and 52 weeks. The patients in the chiropractic care and exercise groups significantly outperformed the medication group at the 26-week point AND had more than DOUBLE the likelihood of complete neck pain relief. However, at the one-year point, ONLY the chiropractic group continued to demonstrate long-term benefits! The significant benefits achieved from both exercise and chiropractic treatments when compared with medication make sense as both address the cause of neck pain as opposed to only masking the symptoms. With results of these studies showing acute, subacute, as well as chronic neck pain responding BEST to chiropractic care, it only makes sense to TRY THIS FIRST! How to self massage tight and sore jaw muscles my Physio SA Adelaide Mt Barker

05:22
Are your jaw muscles tight and sore? Ellie, a remedial massage and sports therapist at myPhysioSA North Adelaide, explains what could be causing your jaw pain, then teaches you how to massage your key jaw muscles to relieve the pain. Jaw pain and tightness is a common problem. The main cause is usually stress and tension. Sometimes it can be teeth related or even caused by a trauma to the jaw. Ellie shows you how to do your own massage on the tight masseter muscles around the jaw and the temporalis muscles up into your temples. These muscles can become overactive, especially if you tend to tighten your jaw and clench during the day or at night in your sleep. This often happens without you even knowing you are doing it. Ellie demonstrates how to do trigger point therapy and myofacial release massage, similar to what a massage therapist would do for you. www.myphysiosa.com.au
How to Stop Muscle Spasms Quickly

01:58
http://www.fulkchiropractic.com/ | (913-764-6237) Kansas City Chiropractor - Dr. Corey Fulk explains what causes muscle spasms and the best muscle spasm treatment options. This Olathe chiropractor gets into the specifics, describing what a muscle spasm actually is and how it affects your chiropractic health. If you are experiencing this type of pain, consider contacting a chiropractor for treatment. -- I was putting the finishing touches on a presentation I had been working hard to finish all day. It had taken most of the afternoon, so I hadn’t even taken the time to get up and get a drink, walk around the office or even use the restroom! (Please tell me I’m not the only one who does that.) But when I stood up I felt an unbearable tightness in my back! Sharp pain shot down my lower back and into my leg, and I buckled over in pain. Do you know what it was? A muscle spasm. What Causes a Muscle Spasm? We all know how to flex our muscles – even kids will happily flex their biceps. Our muscles flex during a muscle spasm, too, but we don’t have control over the movement and this can be scary. When muscles become ridged, they contract (involuntarily) causing a muscle spasm. The fibers inside the muscles contract and tighten. This stops the blood from flowing often causing sharp and immediate pain. Muscle spasms and muscle cramps usually affect the neck, back, legs and abs and can last for a few minutes up to weeks. But what causes the muscle to spasm? Heavy Lifting Bending and twisting while lifting a heavy object can cause the muscles or ligaments in the low back to become strained or to tear. When muscles become inflamed it often leads to back spasm. Your muscles are attached to bones. When your bones move out of alignment they stretch and strain the muscles. This causes not only muscle spasm but back pain, neck pain and even sciatica when the misalignment pinches on a nerve. Quick Movement If you reached over your seat in the car at a stoplight to pick up a book your child has dropped on the floor of the back seat and feel a sharp muscle spasm in your abs or neck, that quick movement and overstretching has caused a muscle spasm. Prolonged Sitting So many of us sit at a computer or look down at our phone for long periods of time, and with more and more people working remotely, there’s not even an opportunity to get out of your chair for some good ol’ water cooler talk. The result? Later in the evening, or even at night, your back and neck muscles may begin to spasm. When we work long hours or feel pressured to finish something with few breaks, we unconsciously tense up our neck and shoulders. neck pain treatment kansas city Posture A slouched posture weakens your neck and back muscles while causing muscle spasm and inflammation in your shoulder blades. As we age, we lose muscle mass and strength (unless we stay active and exercise) and a slouched posture only makes things worse. Strenuous Activity When muscles are overused or injured, they can go into spasm. Athletes who increase their physical activity too quickly can put stress on the muscle. Muscle spasm and sports injuries go hand-in-hand. Continue Reading at: http://www.fulkchiropractic.com/blog-2/page/8/

PINCHED NERVE in NECK Symptoms, TREATMENT to HELP Pinched Nerve and NECK PAIN, Shoulder Pain CAUSES

15:29
9 Remedies for a PINCHED NERVE: A pinched nerve refers to a certain kind of damage to a nerve or group of nerves. It’s caused when a disc, bone, or muscle places increased pressure on the nerve. It can lead to feelings of: numbness tingling burning pins and needles A pinched nerve can cause carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica symptoms (a pinched nerve can’t cause a herniated disc, but a herniated disc can pinch a nerve root), and other conditions. Think of it like an expressway. Your spine is like the main on-ramp for the nerve. As the nerve leaves your neck, it has on- and off-ramps throughout your body. A pinched nerve is like a blocked entrance ramp. The compression on the nerve leads to inflammation and irritation, sending tingling, numbness, or a pain sensation down your limb. – Erin Hassett, PT, DPT, OCS, orthopedic physical therapist in Chicago Some pinched nerves will require professional care to treat. If you’re looking for a way to alleviate mild pain at home, here are nine options you can try. Some of them can be done at the same time. What’s important is to find what works best for you. 9 Treatments 1. Adjust your posture You may need to change how you’re sitting or standing to relieve pain from a pinched nerve. Find any position that helps you feel better, and spend as much time in that position as you can. Pinched nerve in your neck For a pinched nerve in your neck, check to be sure that your chin is in a neutral position, not jutting too far forward or pulled too far back. Also make sure your shoulders are in the right position, gently squeezing your shoulder blades together to ensure upright posture. Strengthening scapular muscles like the rhomboids, middle trapezius, and lower trapezius can help better support your neck once symptoms have resolved. The most comfortable position for a pinched nerve in the neck varies, but often lying down helps to alleviate the compression on the nerve. – Erin Hassett 2. Use a standing workstation Standing workstations are gaining popularity, and for good reason. Mobility and standing throughout your day are crucial to preventing and treating a pinched nerve. If you have a pinched nerve or want to avoid one, talk with your human resources department about modifying your desk so that you can stand while working. If you can’t get a standing workstation, be sure to get up and take a walk each hour. Roller balls for tight muscles and an hourly stretching program are a good idea if you use a keyboard frequently. (Wrist braces or supports aren’t recommended as an early treatment strategy.) 3. Rest No matter where you have a pinched nerve, the best thing is usually to rest as long as possible. Avoid the activity that is causing you pain, such as tennis, golf, or texting. Rest until the symptoms have completely resolved. When you do start moving that part of your body again, pay attention to how it feels. Stop the activity if your pain returns. 4. Splint If you have carpal tunnel, which is a pinched nerve in the wrist, a splint can help you rest and protect your wrist. This can be especially helpful overnight so that you don’t curl your wrist in a bad position while you’re sleeping. 5. Stretch Gentle stretches can help relieve the pressure on your nerve and improve your symptoms. Don’t go too deeply into a stretch. If you begin to feel pain or discomfort, ease up on the stretch. Remember that small movements can have a big impact. Anything that makes you feel better you should do, as long as it isn’t increasing your numbness or pain. Try to spend time in the positions that help alleviate the symptoms. Relieving the pressure on the nerve will help decrease irritation and pain. – Erin Hassett 6. Apply heat You can use heat to relax the muscles that might be tight around a pinched nerve. Heat also increases blood flow, which can help the healing process. You can find heating pads in various sizes at a drugstore. Hold heat directly onto the pinched nerve for 10–15 minutes at a time. 7. Use ice Ice reduces swelling and inflammation. Wrap a towel around an ice pack and hold it directly onto the pinched nerve for 10–15 minutes. 8. Elevate your legs For a pinched nerve in your lower back, try elevating your legs with a 90-degree bend in both your hips and knees. You can place a wedge or ottoman on your bed and rest your legs on top while lying on your back. This position helps relieve compression on the disc and nerve in your back. You can also lie on the floor, resting your legs on top of the couch to achieve the same effect. – Erin Hassett 9. Take an over-the-counter pain reliever If you want to try a pain reliever, you can take over-the-counter nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, like ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB) or aspirin (Bufferin). Follow the instructions on the bottle, and be sure to check with your doctor before taking any new medications.

CV 17 Acupressure Point for Instant Relief of Pain, Tension, Stress, Anxiety - Dr Mandell

Conception Vessel 17 (CV17) is located on the sternum (breast-bone), on the midline, directly between the two nipples. If you are feeling stressed, in pain, anxious, or upset, the area will likely be sore when you put pressure on it. CV17 opens and nourishes the Pericardium energy center in the body, which protects our Heart. The Heart is the seat of our emotions in TCM, and when we become stressed, our emotional self is thrown out of whack.

Are Human Pain Medications Safe For Dogs? Advil, Aspirin, etc.

04:41
Are Human Pain Medications Safe For Dogs? Advil, Aspirin, etc. Whether it’s due to a limp or a cut, at some point, all pet owners will inevitably find themselves asking, “What can I give my dog for pain?” The first thing all pet owners should do when they suspect something is wrong with their pet is call their veterinarian; of course, most animals have an uncanny ability to only get sick when the vet is closed, so it’s also important to know where the nearest emergency vet clinic is located. However, if it doesn’t seem to be a total crisis and you believe your dog can wait until morning to see the doctor, there are a few things you can do to help your pet stay comfortable until a vet appointment. Whether your dog seems to have a limp, a sore back, an upset stomach or a painful ear, one of the first things you should do is make your dog a comfortable place to relax and stay relatively immobile. If your dog has a crate, maybe put a few extra blankets and pillows in there, and bring the food and water bowls close to the door so they don’t have to travel far. If your pet is agreeable, you could even close the crate door to keep out other animals in your home who may want to investigate or play, and to encourage the injured animal to stay still. If your pet seems to have trouble getting around, perhaps due to a sore leg or hips, if you’re able, you should lift and carry your animal up and down stairs. The less movement and strain on its sore joints, the better. As far as medications go, there are no human medicines that are totally safe to give to pets. However, for short-term care, a human non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) such as Aspirin or Advil can be safe for your adult pet. Puppies and cats of all ages should never be given human medications, because they have virtually no tolerance, and even a small dose can be lethal! This technique will show you how to cure a sore throat within 2 minutes without any pills, herbs or drugs. Dr. Eric Berg DC show you how to relieve a sore throat fast. You will now be able to get rid of the pain from sore through simply by pressing on certain points in the back of your neck. This increase nerve flow, circulation and even lymph drainage. The key is pressing on the exact opposite part of your next. STEP 1 Rate your pain from a scale from 0 to 10 (10 being the worst, 0 being no pain) STEP 2 Draw an imaginary circle from the sore throat to the back part of your neck. STEP 3 Press equally on the exact opposite points on the back part of your neck. Do this for 2 minutes. To ensure you are on the correct points, you will feel a very tight, stiff and ridged area while you are doing this as well being very tender. The exact opposite point where the sore throat is will be extremely tender. Adjust location by moving upward and downward until all stiffness is loosened up. STEP 4 Re-rate the pain in your sore throat. SPECIAL NOTE: If the pain reduces, but does not fully go away, ask the person to point to the new location of the pain as it may have shifted up or down. Then apply your pressure opposing this pain in the back part of your neck. If you are doing this on yourself, I recommend using the massage tool to lean back on your coach or a tall back chair. Home Remedies for Lower Back Pain and Back Spasms Treatment

02:46
Home Remedies for Lower Back Pain and Back Spasms Treatment. Back spasms are painful contractions or cramps in the muscles of the back. The pain can be the result of overdoing it during an athletic workout or as simple as just moving wrong while getting out of bed or performing a household chore. According to the Sports Injury Bulletin, most back spasms affect the lower area of the back. You can alleviate the pain of a muscle cramp in the back through home remedies. Step 1 Ice the area that hurts to relieve the pain of a back spasm. Apply an ice pack in a massaging motion to your back. You may need the help of a family member to reach the right spot for a period of 12 minutes, according to Sports Injury Bulletin. The cold not only eases the pain but can reduce inflammation within the muscle and surrounding tissues. You can ice the painful area throughout the day, taking a 20-minute break between icing sessions. Step 2 Take an over-the-counter pain reliever such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen to treat a back spasm at home. Most spasms that occur without ligament tearing can be helped by medications you probably already have in your medicine cabinet. Step 3 Do some gentle stretching to strengthen your lower back, which can both relieve and prevent muscle cramps, according to MedlinePlus. Pelvic tilts, also called pelvic presses, strengthen the lower part of your back and increases your flexibility. Lie down on the floor or a bed with your arms straight down beside you. Tighten your stomach muscles, gently pushing the small of your back down against the floor. Hold the position for several seconds up to 12 seconds is ideal if you can before relaxing. Step 4 Perform leg lifts to strengthen your back and core and to help loosen up tight muscles that spasm often. Lie on the floor or a bed. Lift your right arm and left leg up as high as you can, keeping both limbs straight. Hold the position as long as you can before returning to your original position. Repeat the exercise with your left arm and right leg. Two sets of 10 repetitions of this exercise is adequate, according to the Sports Injury Bulletin. Things You'll Need Ice packs, Pain relievers Please note though stretching can help back spasms, wait until your pain has subsided from its worst before starting the stretches. So that is all about home remedies for back spasms. The New Cannabis Capsule Is So Powerful It Can Replace Any Pain Killer Please SUBSCRIBE : http://bit.ly/2e9Su11 Fortunately, people are becoming increasingly interested in natural remedies and alternative medicine. However, this does not change the attitude of Big Pharma to enforce their drugs despite their numerous harsh side-effects. The amazing health benefits of the cannabis are already publicly confirmed. Hence, the Foria Relief Company has invented a vaginal suppository, based on aromatic cocoa butter, which is a perfect substitution for Vicodin, Midol, and Ibuprofen. It effectively treats menstrual cramps by relaxing the muscles. Additionally, it does not lead to psychotropic property. It is produced with an extraction of cannabis flowers which are pesticide-free. Therefore, their active ingredients are used in a process without microbials and are combined with exact doses- 60 mg of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and 10 mg of cannabidiol (CBD). The pain is blocked by the THC, which sends enjoyable signals to the brain. Also, CBD relaxes the muscles, treats the spasms, and has a favorable effect on the inflammatory mechanisms. According to a woman who tried the vaginal suppository, it relaxed her clenched and cramped muscles and soothed the pain in the midsection. She explained that she felt the area below the waist to the thighs “as if floating in some other galaxy”. Yet, this amazing remedy is only sold in California and is still not approved by the FDA. However, if you decide to use it, make sure you consult your doctor beforehand, even though there have been no complaints from people who have tried it. ========================================== cannabis oil, hemp oil, cannabis, Cannabis Capsule, cannabis dispensary, cannabis stocks, cannabis news, cannabis sativa, medical cannabis, cannabis cup, cannabis vape oil, cannabis oil cancer, cannabis vaporizer, cannabis seeds, cannabismo, cannabist, cannabis plant, cannabis culture, cannabis induced psychosis, cannabis infused coconut oil, cannabis in the bible, cannabis tea, Pharma Painkillers, Big Pharma Painkille, cannabis discovery box https://youtu.be/Oq8ifEdk6z4 Please SUBSCRIBE : http://bit.ly/2e9Su11

However, the problem with these drugs is that they cause some serious side effects. The good news is that there are natural remedies available. They are all-natural, safe to use, and extremely effective in reducing inflammation and soothing pain. 1. WHITE WILLOW BARK AND FEVERFEW White willow bark is extremely effective in treating headaches, as it contains a compound (salicin) whose effects are very similar to the ones of aspirin. It reduces inflammation like aspirin, but it is much gentler. It is recommended to take 120-240 mg standardized salicin every 3-4 hours. Please note that children under the age of 17 should not take willow bark. Feverfew provides a long-term relief and it helps prevent headaches. It has the ability to relax blood vessels in the brain, which in turn prevents constriction, the main cause of migraines. It is recommended to take 100-200 mg on a daily basis. It may take 1 to 2 months to see the benefits. 2. BOSWELLIA Boswellia, also known as frankincense, soothes both minor and chronic pains. Its active ingredients reduce the production of inflammatory compounds which are involved in many chronic diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis. You should take 750 mg on a daily basis in three divided doses. 3. CURCUMIN Turmeric contains curcumin, an active ingredient which inhibits inflammatory properties and improves body`s ability to fight inflammation. It has been scientifically shown that curcumin soothes chronic pain caused by rheumatoid arthritis. Take 400-600 mg of curcumin three times on a daily basis. 4. GINGER Ginger contains enzymes which stop the production of inflammatory compounds. For acute pain, take 2 grams of ground dehydrated ginger on a daily basis. For chronic conditions, reduce the intake to a gram of it daily divided into three doses. 5. ARNICA Arnica has been long used for medicinal purposes, because it contains compounds which boost immunity and reduce inflammation. Topical application of arnica soothes pain and restores joint functions, just as ibuprofen does. It can be also used to treat acute injuries, including bruises, strains, sprains, and postoperative healing. For that purpose, apply arnica gel or cream 3-4 times on a daily basis. 6. DEVIL'S CLAW Devil's Claw is a native fruit of South Africa and when used as a remedy, it can help to relieve pain. Recent studies show that this fruit is very effective in reducing back pain and arthritis. Devil's Claw contains active ingredients which have powerful pain-relieving and inflammation-causing properties. It is recommended to take 400mg dried devil's claw on a daily basis for natural pain relief.

Lower Abdominal Strain Rehab Video - Lower Abdominal Strain

05:56
THIS HURTS! What hurts...: Lower abdominals - maybe psoas. How you hurt it...: Not sure. I have always had a weak core. I have been an avid runner the last two years and my back was bothering me a bit and I did some leg lifts to strengthen my abs. I might have overdone it. Or I might have done the ab work because I was having slight pain and thought I needed to do some strengthening. When you hurt it...: Several weeks ago. Maybe even June. Your pain level (1 is low, 10 is high pain): It's a low nagging sometimes like a 1 or 2. When I first start running it's a 6 or 7. About 1/2 mile into my run the pain goes away. After a 10 mile run, maybe an hour later, the pain is just nagging like a 1 or 2. Later that night when going to bed and also getting up in the morning the pain can be a 6. It subsides if I rest a day or two. Your age and overall health...: 53 - good heath. I ran a half marathon in May and last October. I spin 3 times per week and run 3 times per week. I was running 22 - 25 miles per week up until the end of June. Any other information you feel is relevant...: I have not been taking any pain relievers so there is no masking. I took 400mg of Ibuprofen today as I started thinking there might be some inflamation to take down. Lately (last month) I have been swimming and running shorter distances. Neither swimming or biking activate the pain. Only running. Swimming even seems somewhat theraputic to the pain. I have not given up running altogether but have dropped down to 12 to 18 miles per week. Can't feel any bulges or anything like that. I have palpated while coughing and nothing bulges. When I do have the pain, I can feel it when I cough or sneeze. But as it subsides that goes away too. At first I thought it was my right hip flexor, but as it worsened it seems to be spreading from the right to left across my lower abs. More intense on the right side. Also, from a standing position, lifting my right leg and bending at the knee has some pain in my right hip. While lying down, lifting my left leg (extended) is not painful. Lifting my right leg (extended) is painful. Lifting both legs (extended) is very painful. YOUR INJURY COULD BE... Lower Abdominal Strain. REHAB YOUR INJURY BY... See video.
