Here Is How To Reduce Hypertension or High Blood Pressure At Home! The hypertension or high blood pressure can be caused by genetics, thyroid disorders, toxic body burden, smoking, unhealthy diet, sedentary lifestyle, chronic stress, weight and age. People usually have combination of these factors. It is important to remember that it is one of the ‘silent killers’. That is why it is important to do the periodic blood pressure tests. A healthy blood pressure is 120 over 80. The 1st number measures the heart beating pressure and the 2nd measures the pressure of the resting heart. As there are numerous factors that can cause hypertension, there are many problems that can happen if it is left untreated. Hypertension increases the blood flow resistance in the vessels and forces the heart to work harder. High blood pressure contributes to hardening of the arteries. It is also associated with sexual dysfunction, blindness, aneurysms, dementia, kidney disease and cardiovascular disease. To control it, you need to make some changes in your lifestyle, diet and other contributing factors. If the blood pressure is reduces by 5-6 pints, the risk of stroke is cut by 40% and heart disease by 15%. There are numerous effective medications like ACE inhibitors, diuretics and beta blockers, but they can produce some side effects like rapid heartbeat, dizziness, headaches, fatigue, respiratory problems, depression, leg cramps and insomnia. The high blood pressure is profitable market for the drug companies as it is a common and chronic disease. Once a person starts on these drugs, they take them often for the long term. Drugs aren’t the only choice. There are numerous ways that it can be controlled naturally. If you have hypertension and you’re on medication, you shouldn’t stop taking them without medical advice from the health care provider. -For those who try to control the blood pressure, it is recommended to address potential weight issues. It is important to increase the physical activity and consume anti-inflammatory foods like lean proteins, healthy fats and fresh fruits and vegetables. You need to lower the intake of sodium as the salt retains body fluids and increases the blood volume. Reduce the salty snack like salted nuts, crackers and chips and choose mineral-rich and natural salt like Himalayan and Celtic. Smoking and consuming alcohol also affects the cardiovascular health. They can put a lot of stress on the heart and lead to hypertension and arterial hardening. The body evolved many mechanisms to respond to dangers. One of them is a rapid heartbeat to increase the blood flow and it is accompanied by increased blood pressure. But the real problem is the chronic stress and the background anxiety has huge physiological impact. The cortisol and the other stress hormones stay elevated wearing down the defenses and fueling chronic inflammation. The results are increased risk of cardiovascular disease and hypertension and many degenerative diseases. Meditation is a proven way to reduce the chronic stress. Another way to relieve stress is long walks. -The diet is one of the most critical approaches to high blood pressure controlling. The DASH diet is a specific diet that can lower the blood pressure. It means Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension. It recommends whole grains, veggies and fruits. Also, part of this diet is the potassium-rich foods like bananas and green leafy veggies like kale and spinach. Reduce the trans fats and sugar because these foods fuel inflammation which can increase the risk of hypertension, damage heart health and harden the arteries. https://youtu.be/EQ9t3iPaj-0

Can Stress Cause High Blood Pressure?

Learn how stress can cause high blood pressure and what you can do to lower your high blood pressure. High blood pressure caused by stress or anxiety can be reversed with natural techniques to lower your high pressure and improve your health. A doctor told someone that she had high blood pressure also known as hypertension because of stress. Dr Ekberg explains why high blood pressure is related to stress, what stress is, how to reduce stress, and how stress and high blood pressure is related. Learn how to relieve stress and how to reduce stress so you won't have high blood pressure spikes. The video has tips on how to reduce your stress and anxiety naturally so you can heal and be healthy. Don't let heart disease or hypertension take over your health, take action and lower blood pressure naturally. I got a question here and she said that the cardiologist said that her (heart) piping her (heart) plumbing was all fine but that stress was causing the problem. And yes that is true but we need to understand more about what stress is stress is not just having too much to do and not enough time that is indeed stress but stress is anything that can interfere with the body anything that can activate or over activate the sympathetic nervous system and anything that prevents that nervous system from finding the natural balance so again for getting rid of stress is not the solution because the world is still going to be there. We can't turn the world off. What we can do we can some what... we can selectively reduce stress by changing our lifestyle a little bit but more than that what we really want to do is help the body deal with the stress better it's a physiological problem in addition to just the emotional stress so people think of stress and they say oh yeah I have too much to do but it's it's the emotional stress and the chemical stress and the structural stress it all interferes and then we do something else in this office that takes a little more explaining but it's it's basically about how the autonomic nervous system how flexible and how good is it and regulating does it tend to get stuck or is it confused and all of those factors can involve those stressors that we mentioned the scars and the metals and so on so yes stress is a big problem it is often the initiator but we can't just look at that and ignore all the other things. ► TOP 10 Causes Of High Blood Pressure

07:22
How I lowered my dad's blood pressure, without drugs or diets ►►http://drsam.co/yt/SeeItYourself ======================================= Top 10 Causes Of High Blood Pressure ======================================= 1. AGE Most people don’t realize that AGE is one of the BIGGEST factors for high blood pressure. I discuss this in my very important article, but what’s important to note is that after the age of 40, 33% of the population has high blood pressure and after the age of 60, over 71% of the population has hypertension! So, if you’re over the age of 40 and have high blood pressure, it may not be your fault. But it IS your responsibility to fix it right away and here is how I lowered my dad’s blood pressure naturally, in just 30 days. 2. GENETICS & FAMILY HISTORY Well, not much can be done here. This is in fact my own problem because I have a family history (on my dad’s side) of hypertension, heart attacks and especially strokes. You can read more about it, include my personal favorite solution that my dad, my family and I use to promote healthy blood pressure levels, naturally! 3. SMOKING Come on people, smoking has NO health benefits. STOP smoking! 4. ALCOHOL A little bit of alcohol is okay, especially if it’s organic red wine. But drinking every night will cause damage to your heart, arteries and liver. Alcohol is a toxic and it’s acidic, both being bad for your body. 5. BEING OVERWEIGHT Similar to smoking, being overweight has no health benefits. And the older you get, the harder it is to lose that unwanted fat. 6. SODIUM Salt has its benefits actually. Regular table salt or salt found in processed foods and packages is BAD for you. However, “natural” salts such as Himalayan rock or Celtic sea salt is GOOD for you and can actually help LOWER blood pressure. I’ll discuss this in a future article. 7. STRESS Well know stress is bad. However, you can’t get rid of it. What’s important is the MEANING you give to stressful situations. If you freak out, get negative and focus on the problem the entire time … you put your body under extra stress. The secret is to focus on the SOLUTION and to know that “this too shall pass” and worrying about the problem isn’t going to help anything… Especially our blood pressure or heart. 8. LACK OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY We sit too much these days. Just get outside and walk daily, even if it’s just for 15-20 minutes. It’ll do wonders for your physical AND mental health! 9. MEDICAL CONDITIONS This goes back to “genetics”. And if you know you have a genetic “problem”, which is making things worse, then you MUST make changes to your life-style because your body is more sensitive than the average person. This is a similar problem with my dad and why he had a stroke. 10. MEDICATION Ironically, many “heart” medications actually cause more heart PROBLEMS in the long run. They can increase your cholesterol, blood sugar or blood pressure levels. They can decrease blood flow and circulation. And they all cause extra stress on your liver and kidneys, which then cause more problems for your heart. The dangers of low blood pressure

06:49
Most people worry about high blood pressure, and with good reason as it portends numerous health risks, such as the possibility of an increased risk of heart attacks and strokes. But… Low blood pressure brings a different set of problems, such as reduced brain function and increased mortality risk. If the upper or lower number deviates by more than 10 from 120/80, it pays to be aware low blood pressure may be affecting your health. Think of it like this. The function of your blood pressure is to push the blood out of your blood vessels by permeating out of them to the rest of the body. High blood pressure is often a compensatory response to something that is going on in the body. If you cover up the end response of your body you can get other symptoms. Such as, a very common side effect of blood pressure medications is brain fog or mental “unclarity”. Which really makes perfect sense. Your brain is now not getting the blood (or oxygen) it needs to function, which equals……uhhhhhhhh? What? As a side note I often find that in the elderly, if they have not taken care of themselves and their arteries are already starting to harden, this will lead to decreased permeability of the blood vessels. As a result, blood pressure goes up to compensate and get blood to the brain. If you lower blood pressure too much, you no think too much! ;-) Blood pressure pushes blood through about 100,000 miles of veins, arteries, and capillaries in the body, carrying oxygen, nutrients, immune cells, hormones, neurotransmitters, and other vital compounds. High blood pressure strains blood vessels. However, low blood pressure means not enough blood is getting to capillaries and tissues, particularly in your hands, feet, and brain. This deprives those tissues of sufficient oxygen and nutrients. You may have chronic nail fungal infections and cold hands and feet if so. These can also be signs of an immune system that is deficient as well. So it pays to check both. Adrenal fatigue as a cause of low blood pressure The most common cause of low blood pressure (other than taking blood pressure medications) in a functional medicine model is poor adrenal function. The adrenals are two walnut-sized glands that sit atop the kidneys. They produce stress hormones and help regulate blood pressure. Many people today suffer from adrenal fatigue due to chronic stress. Other causes of adrenal fatigue are poor diets, low blood sugar, chronic infections, gut problems, inflammation, and unmanaged autoimmunity — all stressors. HOW STRESS AFFECTS YOUR HEALTH

04:55
Stress is a threat, real or perceived, to homeostasis – the body’s normal functional equilibrium. This pervasive phenomenon elicits a physiological response, which, if disproportionate, either in magnitude or duration sustained, can be detrimental to the body. The body has mechanisms in place to repair the resulting damage once the stressor has passed, but chronic stress disrupts these mechanisms. As we age, the delicate balance between damage and restoration progressively tips, and impairments accumulate. Prolonged stress can affect how quickly we age and when we begin to show signs of pathology. Nearly two thirds of diseases are thought to be triggered by stress, and daily stress can increase an individual’s risk for developing non-communicable diseases, or NCDs. An NCD is a disease that is not infectious and not communicable, as it is not caused by an infectious agent. Examples of such diseases include heart disease, obesity, and osteoporosis. The stress response evolved to act in short spurts to increase an individual’s odds of survival in the face of immediate danger. It works by temporarily optimizing the body’s performance through the neglect of digestion, growth, reproduction, and immune functions. When this system is abused through the presence of chronic stress, and high levels of glucocorticoids are maintained for long periods, this neglect of important body maintenance functions can lead to various disorders, including high blood pressure, diabetes, and hyperthyroidism. One mechanism by which stress can lead to certain NCDs is by raising the appeal of an unhealthy lifestyle. Individuals employ coping methods to alleviate stress in the moment, and eventually pay the price for the cumulative impacts. One study found that financial stress over a prolonged period increased an individual’s risk of becoming obese by 20%. Another found that nurses with work schedules at unfavourable hours were more likely to practice unhealthy behaviours, including alcohol consumption and smoking. These nurses, especially those that were female, were also more likely to eat due to stress, and these meals were less likely be nutritious. Unsurprisingly, the authors’ major finding was that nurses with unfavourable schedules were more prone to obesity. Persons experiencing chronic stress are also more likely to take up smoking and ingest more alcohol. However, research suggests that these lifestyle aspects, while detrimental to health, are not the primary cause of an increased risk of stroke and transient ischemic attack. Stress is that primary cause. There has been little evolution in the body’s stress-coping mechanisms over the past several thousand years, despite changes to society and demands from individuals. As a result, a person’s physiological response to the stress of being late for an appointment, worrying about their mark for a test, or losing their job resembles that which occurred in a time when stress was acute and very extreme – potentially involving risk of death from a predator or from starvation. In developed countries such as the USA and Canada, NCDs are the most common cause of death, and countries around the world that are shifting from agrarian to post-industrial societies are witnessing increasing prevalence of these disorders. Curiously, almost 80% of deaths due to NCDs occur in countries of low to mid-level incomes. Perhaps this is a result of increasingly sedentary lifestyles and rapid urbanization. More than half of the world’s population lives in cities and this number is increasing. Studies demonstrate that individuals brought up in cities have a different response to stress compared to those brought up in a rural environment, even if these people moved to cities as adults. City-dwellers have a relatively large amount of firing in the amygdala and cingulate cortex when presented with a social stressor, indicating a stronger emotional response. Possibly this difference could mean that individuals who grew up in cities are more prone to mental disorders. Given the lag in the evolution of the stress response, it cannot be expected that individuals will experience less activation of the stress response systems in the face of adversity. This fact highlights the importance of work-life balance and taking care of one’s mental health. Body Systems vectors from Adobe Stock and many of the other images are from Pixabay and FootageCrate

How to Reduce Cortisol Naturally (Stress Hormone)

05:45
Have you seen the self-help books on how to reduce stress? So which one has the real answer? Two reasons that spring to mind as instigators are: finances and romances. But that’s not all; there’s often a kaleidoscope of trouble brewing internally. The hypothalamus located in your brain starts to ring the alarm. Then the adrenal glands rev up production of cortisol – which is known as the stress hormone. In today’s video we’ll take an in-depth look at this steroid hormone and learn more about its function. Cortisol’s responsibilities Helps keep insulin in check Helps us remain in control as we respond to stress Helps regulate blood pressure Aids the immune system’s health It sounds like a good hormone, but a continuously high level of cortisol can lead to Cushing’s syndrome. Some of the causes of Cushing’s syndrome Chronic stress Adrenal gland problems Consuming too much alcohol Depression Symptoms of Cushing’s syndrome Mood swings Not your typical moody blue days – but days on end when you can’t seem to enjoy anything. Digestive problems When cortisol levels are too high, energy is diverted away from the gastrointestinal tract. This rerouting process reduces enzyme production, which hampers digestion. Heart disease and High Blood Pressure When too much stress in your life triggers an over-abundance of cortisol, it may elevate your blood pressure. This can place you at a higher risk of heart disease. Sleep problems When we awaken in the morning, cortisol is in full production mode to help us make the transition from sleep to life in the real world. Those who suffer from chronic stress have unstable cortisol concentrations, and they won’t have that extra burst of morning cortisol. Weight gain The next time you feel a craving for carb-laden foods and sweets, you may be able to blame it on cortisol. Having a high amount for an extended period can stimulate an appetite for food you wouldn’t ordinarily want to eat. Premature wrinkles Leave it to this pesky hormone to make a visible statement on our faces. High cortisol levels can dehydrate our skin, leaving it prone to premature wrinkles. Other symptoms include: Aches and pains, especially backaches More susceptive to infections, as cortisol may weaken the immune system Growth of facial hair in women Development of pinkish/purple stretch marks on non-pregnant women These symptoms develop gradually, at least in most cases. Therefore, it may take time before a problem is clearly recognized. But if you suspect you may have too much cortisol, you can make lifestyle changes to reduce it. How to lower your cortisol production 1. Eliminate caffeine It’s worth a try to eliminate it from you diet for 2 weeks. Reports indicate that 200mg of caffeine can elevate blood cortisol by 30% in only 1 hour. 2. Sleep deeper and longer Sleep deprivation can create a host of health issues. Perhaps you could try a natural substance, Inositol. It’s a branch of the vitamin B family and is naturally present in certain foods. 3. Exercise regularly Exercise is a stress buster. It not only builds muscle mass but it also causes your brain to produce serotonin and dopamine. These two brain chemicals reduce stress, depression and anxiety. 4. Keep your blood sugar stable That includes banning donuts and cookies from your plate. Consuming excess refined sugar and simple carbs can cause your insulin production to soar. 5. Drink more water Staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water will also keep cortisol from spiking. Drink a glass of water when you go to bed and when you first awaken. 6. Take anti-stress supplements These can be found naturally in calcium, vitamins B and C, magnesium, zinc and CoQ 10 7. Meditate or listen to relaxation tapes Much of the music today can break the sound barrier. If you want to relax and lower your cortisol, turn on some soft music. Or try meditation. We have enough bad stuff on our plate – and that can get us tangled in knots. Take control and lower your cortisol. You’ll be glad you did. Stress, who doesn't experience stress? When you drive up the highway during 5:00 traffic, stress. When you agree to host your child's end-of-the-year class party, when you know those kids get on your nerves, stress. When you are in a hurry, and without fail, you pick the one line in the grocery store that has a cashier who is moving at the pace of a three-toed sloth, stress. We know that stress can cause anger, sadness, irritability, but can stress actually affect your physical health? Absolutely, yes. Do you want to know how to reduce your stress and increase your health? Keep watching. When you experience stress, it causes a physiologic reaction. It causes stress hormones to rise. Your heart rate increases. It causes certain muscles to contract. It causes blood vessels to tighten. Stress can definitely have very negative effects on your health. Now, the health problems stress can cause are numerous, but over the next several minutes, I'm going to concentrate on just five ways that stress can negatively affect your physical health, and I'm going to give you ways to reduce that stress and to increase your health. Causes and effects of stress Hypertension. Stress can cause hypertension, which is a leading cause of heart disease, stroke, and even kidney failure. When you experience stress, it causes your stress hormones, such as cortisol and adrenaline, to rise. When these stress hormones surge, it causes your blood vessels to tighten. When the blood vessels tighten, that causes an elevated pressure against those blood vessels, high blood pressure, hypertension. So you can imagine, if you are a person who experiences stress several times a day, you may be causing your blood pressure to rise several times a day. So, if you allow yourself to be stressed by that road raged person who cut you off this morning, and also called you a profane name, then your stress may be causing hypertension. Number two, headaches. Stress can cause headaches. When you experience stress, it can cause contraction of the muscles in your scalp, the back of your neck, and your upper back. These contracted muscles can cause or worsen tension headaches. Now, most of our lives are driven by how productive we are, and if you are a person who is stressed and experiencing chronic or recurrent headaches, how productive can you really be? So, when people like that petty person at work, who is always trying to one-up you or to threaten your job security cause you stress, that stress can be causing headaches. Number three, weight gain or obesity. When some people are stressed, they tend to eat more, and the foods they tend to eat are comfort foods, which tend to be high in fat and sugar. Watch the video to see all of the effects of stress and how to reduce stress. The key is that life is going to present stress. We just cannot avoid that. But it is important to remember that you are important. It's important to understand that if you are stressed out, and if you affect your health, you really can't be helpful to others. So please, review your life, identify things that are stressing you, and do everything you can to exercise, meditate, identify the stressors, and learn how to say no sometimes. Thank you for watching. I want you to please share my video. Please like my video. Subscribe to my page. Remember, prioritize yourself and strive to live your healthiest, happiest life.

☝️ 3 Pressure Points That’ll Instantly Lower Your Blood Pressure Naturally

05:23
How I Lowered My Dad’s Blood Pressure by 23% In Just A Few days - NO Drugs or Diets: 👉http://drsam.co/yt/LongTermLowBP Or you can watch this video: http://drsam.co/yt/WorstFoodForBP ======================================= ☝️ 3 Pressure Points That’ll Instantly Lower Your Blood Pressure Naturally ======================================= Lowering high blood pressure is a very important topic not only for avoiding a heart attack or stroke, but simply for a longer life. And personally speaking, this is very important for me because I have a family history of high blood pressure, which has typically lead to strokes on my dad’s side of the family and heart attacks on my mom’s. The good news is that there are lots of simple ways to lower high blood pressure, naturally. And today I’m going reveal 3 simple pressure points on your body, that will instantly lower your blood pressure. Something important that I want to bring to your attention about today’s topic is that these solutions are for instant results, NOT long-term solutions … which I’ll get to at the end of today’s video. So if you’re feeling stressed or your blood pressure is rising, you can almost instantly and quickly use today’s 3 pressure points to lower your blood pressure and help avoid anything bad from happening. If nothing else, you’ll get instant relief and relaxation. Acupressure Point LI4 LI 4, which stands for “Large Intestine 4”, is an extremely useful acupressure point that is extensively used to treat chronic pain, acute stress and various types of diseases along with treatment for high blood pressure. This point is situated in the webbing between the forefinger and the thumb… right in the middle as you see here. It calms and balances blood flow throughout the body and clears stagnation. As an added benefit, it also boosts your immunity. The most effective way to apply pressure to LI 4 is to slide your thumb along the webbing until you reach the junction of the thumb and index finger bones. How to apply acupressure? Begin by moving your thumb in a small circular rubbing motion over LI 4 for a few seconds. Then you can apply gentle to moderate thumb pressure depending on how sensitive the area feels. If there is any pain, it should be a “good hurt,” not severe or uncomfortable. You can hold the point as long as you are comfortable, up to several minutes. I typically suggest about 20-30 seconds, then take a few second break and then repeat as often as you’d like. PC 6 PC 6 or Pericardium 6 is yet another important acupressure point for treating high blood pressure. It soothes and helps the heart and circulatory system in their proper functioning. This point is also known as the Inner Gate, and it is located on the inner forearm, approximately three finger-widths away from the wrist crease as you see here. This point can be stimulated by applying firm pressure to the point using your index finger or thumb. Again, apply pressure for about 20-30 seconds, then take a break and repeat as needed. G20 The G20 is below the base of your skull, in the hollows on both sides of the neck, between the two vertical neck muscles. Putting pressure here lowers your blood pressure, reduces headaches and stress by relaxing your nervous system. Use your thumbs, fingers, or knuckles to gradually apply pressure into the hollows of your skull. Close your eyes as you tilt your head back slowly. Take long, slow deep breaths as you hold for two to three minutes. Direct the pressure slowly and firmly into the center of your head. Other Acupressure Points Now, there are lots of other acupressure points -- on your feet, arms, legs, and so forth. I picked these 3 areas for lowering your blood pressure because you can do them any where, any place -- they’re easy to access. It’s just your hand, forearm/wrist and the back of your head. Easy access, you can do it yourself and you’ll get fast relief. ======================================== Thank you for watching. Please feel free to comment, like or share with your friends. Cortisol: How to Balance Cortisol Levels to Burn Fat- Thomas DeLauer

05:40
Cortisol: How to Balance Cortisol Levels to Burn Fat- Thomas DeLauer… The Good and the Bad of Cortisol - http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com When you hear cortisol, you may automatically jump to stress and inflammation. There is more to cortisol than just functioning as a stress hormone. It is possible to have both too little and too much cortisol. So what exactly is cortisol and what does it do? Cortisol is a steroid hormone that is produced in the adrenal glands, with its secretion controlled by the adrenal glands, the hypothalamus and the pituitary gland. Most cells in the body have receptors for cortisol, so this hormone impacts much of your body in numerous ways. Cortisol functions include: Regulates blood sugar Regulates metabolism Plays a part in memory Impacts inflammation, including decreasing inflammation Blood pressure control Water and salt balance Supports a healthy pregnancy Proper cortisol function is in fact part of maintaining a healthy weight and losing fat. Slight elevations in cortisol levels activate an enzyme called hormone sensitive lipase (HSL). Burning fat involves hormones - HSL releases stored fat from your body when queued by cortisol. Your body is then able to utilize this fat for fuel, thus leading to fat burning. If your cortisol levels remain elevated for too long, the opposite can happen and cortisol will trigger fat storage. Excess cortisol causes: Chronic stress Cushing’s syndrome Excess cortisol can lead to: Weight gain, particularly around the core and face Mood swings Anxiety Depression High blood pressure Labido change Menstrual changes Chronic inflammation Too little cortisol causes (known as hypoadrenalism): Iron deficiency Long periods of excessive synthetic cortisol treatment (can reduce the natural release of cortisol) Addison’s disease - an autoimmune disease that can lead to adrenal gland damage Tuberculosis Other rare medical conditions Too little cortisol can lead to: Muscle loss and muscle fatigue Weight loss Fatigue Mood swings Dizziness Anxiety Difficulty sleeping Darkening of the skin What Can You Do? Controlling stress can help with both high and low cortisol levels, so adding meditation and yoga to your daily routine can help. Adaptogens such as ashwagandha can help to balance your stress response and cortisol levels. Research bomb: In a 2012 randomized, placebo-controlled study of 64 adults with chronic stress looked into the stress levels and serum cortisol levels following ashwagandha supplementation for 60 days. Those who took the Ashwagandha supplements were found to have lower serum cortisol levels when compared to the placebo group. Curcumin has also been shown to help reduce cortisol levels, so add turmeric to your foods. Speak with your doctor if you are experiencing any of the above symptoms. References: 1. How To Lower High Blood Pressure Naturally Without Medication

03:33
High blood pressure is also called hypertension. Two factors contribute to high blood pressure: the quantity of blood your heart pumps and how narrow your arteries are. High blood pressure raises your risk of heart problems and strokes. Most people have no symptoms, so the best way to detect it is to get screened during a checkup at your doctor’s office at least every year. If you do have high blood pressure, there are some dietary and lifestyle changes that can help you lower your blood pressure 1. Reduce sodium in your diet Foods high in sodium include table-salt, sauces, salad-dressings, bacon, pickles, snacks, fast-foods, canned-foods, etc. Even a small reduction in the sodium in your diet can reduce blood pressure by 2 to 8 millimeter of mercury. The effect of sodium intake on blood pressure varies among groups of people. In general, limit sodium to less than 2,300 milligrams a day or less. 2. Reduce your stress Chronic stress is an important contributor to high blood pressure. Occasional stress also can contribute to high blood pressure if you react to stress by eating unhealthy food, drinking alcohol or smoking. Take some time to think about what causes you to feel stressed, such as work, family, finances or illness. Once you know what's causing your stress, consider how you can eliminate or reduce stress. If you can't eliminate all of your stressors, you can at least cope with them in a healthier way. 3. Exercise regularly Regular physical activity at least 30 minutes most days of the week can lower your blood pressure by 4 to 9 millimeters of mercury. It's important to be consistent because if you stop exercising, your blood pressure can rise again. If you have slightly high blood pressure (prehypertension), exercise can help you avoid developing full-blown hypertension. If you already have hypertension, regular physical activity can bring your blood pressure down to safer levels. 4.Eat a healthy diet Eating a diet that is rich in whole grains, fruits, vegetables and low-fat dairy products and skimps on saturated fat and cholesterol can lower your blood pressure by up to 14 millimeters of mercury. This eating plan is known as the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension. 5. Supplement your diet with nuts, seeds, and legumes. They are relatively high in fat, but they also have magnesium, potassium, fiber, and protein. Because of this, the DASH-Diet (Dietary-Approaches-to-Stop-Hypertension) recommends eating only four or five servings per week. 1 serving is 1/3 of a cup of nuts. 6.Restrict your sugar consumption. Processed sugars add calories to your diet without providing you with the nutrients that will make you feel satisfied. Reduce your consumption of sweets to, at most, five per week. A serving is a tablespoon of sugar or jelly 7. Monitor your blood pressure at home and see your doctor regularly Home monitoring can help you keep tabs on your blood pressure, make certain your lifestyle changes are working, and alert you and your doctor to potential health complications. 8 Reasons for High Blood Pressure | Hypertension Prevention and Control Tips| Swami Mukundananda

Understand 8 reasons for high blood pressure and tips for high blood pressure prevention and cure from Swami Mukundananda. As Swamiji graciously explains in this video, the heart is a muscle that pumps blood around the body. The pumping of blood creates pressure. Blood pressure is the amount of force exerted against the walls of the arteries as blood flows through them. If a person has high blood pressure, it means that the walls of the arteries are receiving too much pressure on a constant basis. High blood pressure is also known as hypertension. In the United States, according to the American Heart Association (AHA), about 1 in every 3 adults over 20 years of age have high blood pressure. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) estimate that about two-thirds of people over the age of 65 in the U.S. have high blood pressure. Some of the reasons for high blood pressure are 1) Age. 2) Family history. 3) Weight. 4) Smoking. 5) Alcohol intake. 6) Physical inactivity. 7) Mental stress. 8) Diabetes. Also, Swamiji says that exercise/aerobics/Yoga help combat Diabetes, but we should never over strain during these physical activities. These hormones prepare the body for the fight or flight response by making the heart beat faster and constricting blood vessels to get more blood to the core of the body instead of the extremities. Source video: Blood Pressure Exercises VSL cb. Stress versus anxiety Stress is a lifestyle factor and, to a certain extent, a fact of life. Each of us also has a certain level of anxiety. On the other hand, chronic anxiety and anxiety disorders are medically diagnosed conditions, which can be impacted by stress. Fight stress with healthy habits Learn to fight stress by making choices like talking with family and friends and making time for physical activity. These habits not only improve your health they also rejuvenate your general well-being. Think about problems under your control and make a plan to solve them. You could talk to your boss about difficulties at work, talk with your neighbor if his dog bothers you or get help when you have too much to do. Give yourself the gift of a healthy lifestyle. Engage in physical activity regularly. Do what you enjoy; walk, swim, ride a bike or jog to get your muscles going. Letting go of the tension in your body will help you feel better. Know what brings you pleasure and find ways to enjoy the experience. Perhaps you enjoy volunteer opportunities or cooking your favorite foods. By taking time not only to participate in these activities but to intentionally enjoy them, you can build a satisfying life rather than hurry through your relaxing activities at a stressful pace. Is There Any Relationship Between Hypertension And Short Temper? There is one organ which causes high blood pressure (and it's not what you think!) and there are specific exercises you can use to target and fix your blood pressure easily. No diet, lifestyle changes or medication required: http://hibloodpressure.stream/ Answers from: Amy L. Allen Alexander Anlyan Yes, there is over a long period of time. As children, we should learn to control our tempers but this isnt always the case since most parents do not. Our body would not see any effects from our short temperament as children, but more so once well into adulthood. Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured: Mark Twain When you get fired up emotionally, youre doing the equivalent of putting a torch to your arteries. Medical research has repeatedly documented the danger of anger and chronic stress. Reference: Temper Your Temper! Anger Can Kill! | Heart MD Institute - Dr. Stephen Sinatra's Informational Site If we never learn to gain control over our emotions that make us very upset or angry, it eventually kills us at some stage in our lives. I know someone around my own age just like this and is going down that path. But if you try to tell them this, they will most likely not listen, even to doctors. They want to just live their lives the way they want to. Often times they see it as having control over others but cant manage to control their own emotions. Your Brain on Stress and Anxiety

04:42
Stress is the way our bodies and minds react to something which upsets our normal balance in life. Stress is how we feel and how our bodies react when we are fearful or anxious. Some level of stress has some upside to mind and body function to enable us to react in a positive way. Too much stress though, is both harmful to the body and our performance. How much is too much? Well, that depends... on you and how you respond. It is essential to know how our brain responds to the stimuli which trigger an anxiety response so that you are equipped to deal appropriately with anxiety. (Learn four simple brain hacks to overcome performance anxiety: https://youtu.be/FlgGLs1Cpcw) Let me highlight the key areas of your brain that are involved, and then I will explain what happens inside the brain. The Thalamus is the central hub for sights and sounds. The thalamus breaks down incoming visual cues by size, shape and colour, and auditory cues by volume and dissonance, and then signals the cortex. The cortex then gives raw sights and sounds meaning enabling you to be conscious of what you are seeing and hearing. And I'll mention here that the prefrontal cortex is vital to turning off the anxiety response once the threat has passed. The amygdala is the emotional core of the brain whose primary role is to trigger the fear response. Information passing through the amygdala is associated with an emotional significance. The bed nucleus of the stria terminals is particularly interesting when we discuss anxiety. While the amygdala sets off an immediate burst of fear whilst the BNST perpetuates the fear response, causing longer term unease typical of anxiety. The locus ceruleus receives signals from the amygdala and initiates the classic anxiety response: rapid heartbeat, increased blood pressure, sweating and pupil dilation. The hippocampus is your memory centre storing raw information from the senses, along with emotional baggage attached to the data by the amygdala. Now we know these key parts, what happens when we are anxious, stressed or fearful? Anxiety, stress and, of course, fear are triggered primarily through your senses: Sight and sound are first processed by the thalamus, filtering incoming cues and sent directly to the amygdala or the cortex. Smells and touch go directly to the amygdala, bypassing the thalamus altogether. (This is why smells often evoke powerful memories or feelings). Any cues from your incoming senses that are associated with a threat in the amygdala (real or not, current or not) are immediately processed to trigger the fear response. This is the expressway. It happens before you consciously feel the fear. The hippothalmus and pituitary gland cause the adrenal glands to pump out high levels of the stress hormone coritsol. Too much short circuits the cells of the hippocampus making it difficult to organize the memory of a trauma or stressful experience. Memories lose context and become fragmented. The body's sympathetic nervous system shifts into overdrive causing the heart to beat faster, blood pressure to rise and the lungs hyperventilate. Perspiration increases and the skin's nerve endings tingle, causing goosebumps. Your senses become hyper-alert, freezing you momentarily as you drink in every detail. Adrenaline floods to the muscles preparing you to fight or run away. The brain shifts focus away from digestion to focus on potential dangers. Sometimes causing evacuation of the digestive tract thorough urination, defecation or vomiting. Heck, if you are about to be eaten as someone else's dinner why bother digesting your own? Only after the fear response has been activated does the conscious mind kick in. Some sensory information, takes a more thoughtful route from the thalamus to the cortex. The cortex decides whether the sensory information warrants a fear response. If the fear is a genuine threat in space and time, the cortex signals the amygdala to continue being on alert. Fear is a good, useful response essential to survival. However, anxiety is a fear of something that cannot be located in space and time. Most often it is that indefinable something triggered initially by something real that you sense, that in itself is not threatening but it is associated with a fearful memory. And the bed nucleus of the stria terminals perpetuate the fear response. Anxiety is a real fear response for the individual feeling anxious. Anxiety can be debilitating for the sufferer. Now that you know how anxiety happens in your brain, we can pay attention to how we can deliberately use our pre-frontal cortex to turn off an inappropriate anxiety response once a threat has passed. WHY WE NEED STRESS RELIEF Stress is your body's response to an event or situation that is perceived by your mind to be threatening. We are faced with these stressful events and situations so often, that it can become a familiar and accepted part of our lives. This is a danger, as our bodies take drastic measures to deal with stressful situations; by releasing extra hormones, re-directing body fluids into the bloodstream and increasing our heart rate and lung function. The most common health problems caused by excessive stress are: heart disease, headaches, asthma, depression, diabetes and obesity. Anybody who suffers from any of these problems may have too much stress in their life because of the way they perceive situations. Most Common Symptoms of Chronic Stress

03:37
Chronic stress occurs when people start denying that fact that they are stressed. Some people have a strong convincing mind that helps them to deny their stressful situation. Others are smart and are good at hiding their stress symptoms from other as well as themselves. While you might keep saying ‘I am absolutely alright to everybody else you know you should be able to recognize the signs of stress before it takes a toll on your health. 1. Weight gain: Yeah! If you don’t want to put on extra kilos just lead a stress-free life. High levels of stress hormones cause excess fat deposition irrespective of whether you’re thin or fat. Also, a few people tend to overeat under stressful situations which cause the body to store more calories instead of burning them. 2. Muscle tension: Hormones released during stress not only raise your blood pressure and heart rate but also cause your muscles to tighten up. Common muscle pain due to incorrect posture at work can worsen if you are stressed. if you like the video, give it a thumbs up,COMMENT and share it with your friends if u want more recipes and healthy tips, subscribe to the channal

By making these 7 lifestyle changes, you can lower your blood pressure and risk of heart diseases

Lifestyle plays an important role in treating your high blood pressure. If you successfully control your blood pressure with a healthy lifestyle, you might avoid, delay or reduce the need for medication. Here are 7 lifestyle changes you can make to lower your blood pressure and keep it down. #1. Lose extra pounds and watch your waistline. Weight loss is one of the most effective lifestyle changes for controlling blood pressure. Losing even a small amount of weight if you're overweight or obese can help reduce your blood pressure. In general, you may reduce your blood pressure by about 1 millimeter of mercury (mm Hg) with each kilogram (about 2.2 pounds) of weight you lose. Similarly, carrying too much weight around your waist can put you at greater risk of high blood pressure. Men are at risk if their waist measurement is greater than 40 inches (102 centimeters). Women are at risk if their waist measurement is greater than 35 inches (89 centimeters). #2. Exercise regularly. If you have elevated blood pressure, exercise can help you avoid developing hypertension. If you already have hypertension, regular physical activity can bring your blood pressure down to safer levels. Some examples of aerobic exercise you may try to lower blood pressure include walking, jogging, cycling, swimming, or dancing. You can also try high-intensity interval training, which involves alternating short bursts of intense activity with subsequent recovery periods of lighter activity. #3. Eat a healthy diet. Eating a diet that is rich in whole grains, fruits, vegetables and low-fat dairy products and skimps on saturated fat and cholesterol can lower your blood pressure by up to 11 mm Hg if you have high blood pressure. This eating plan is known as the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet. Potassium can lessen the effects of sodium on blood pressure. The best source of potassium is food, such as fruits and vegetables, rather than supplements. #4. Reduce sodium in your diet. Even a small reduction in the sodium in your diet can improve your heart health and reduce blood pressure by about 5 to 6 mm Hg if you have high blood pressure. The effect of sodium intake on blood pressure varies among groups of people. In general, limit sodium to 2,300 milligrams (mg) a day or less. However, a lower sodium intake — 1,500 mg a day or less — is ideal for most adults. #5. Quit smoking and Alcohol Intake. Each cigarette you smoke increases your blood pressure for many minutes after you finish, similarly, alcohol intake, have the same effects. By stopping both, smoking as well as alcohol, help your blood pressure return to normal. Quitting smoking and drinking alcohol can reduce your risk of heart disease and improve your overall health. People who quit smoking and alcohol may live longer than people who never quit smoking and drinking alcohol. #6. Cut back on caffeine. The role caffeine plays in blood pressure is still debated. Caffeine can raise blood pressure up to 10 mm Hg in people who rarely consume it. But people who drink coffee regularly may experience little or no effect on their blood pressure. #7. Reduce your stress. Chronic stress may contribute to high blood pressure. More research is needed to determine the effects of chronic stress on blood pressure. Occasional stress also can contribute to high blood pressure if you react to stress by eating unhealthy food, drinking alcohol or smoking. Take some time to think about what causes you to feel stressed, such as work, family, finances or illness. Once you know what's causing your stress, consider how you can eliminate or reduce stress. ..............................................................................................................
