Have you been feeling slightly depressed recently? Well in this depression test video we will be going over and seeing if in fact you are depressed or not. In this video, we will be going over 8 questions to see if you are depressed or not. Depression is something a lot of people suffer, some people who become depressed can easily snap out of it however many people who develop depression find it extremely difficult to snap out of it. These questions are simple 'YES' or 'NO' questions. The questions are as followed 1) Do you have little pleasure or interest in doing things? 2) Do you feel hopeless or down? 3) Do you have trouble sleeping, either sleeping too much or not at all? 4) Do you feel tired or have little energy? 5) Do you overeat or have a poor appetite? 6) Do you feel like a failure or you've let people down? 7) Do you have trouble concentrating? 8) Do you have any harmful thoughts towards yourself? Now, Let's begin with the scoring process. If you have said 'YES' to 2 or fewer questions then it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY you are suffering from depression. If you have said 'YES' on 2-4 questions then it is LIKELY you have MILD depression. You have nothing to worry about if you have mild depression and it is something you can easily snap out of with the right help and support. I will be going over in my next few videos how to overcome MILD depression. If you said 'YES' 5 or more times then it is HIGHLY LIKELY you are extremely depressed. You now have 2 options which can help you deal with your depression. 1) Make an appointment with your local GP to discuss with them how you are feeling, they will be able to prescribe you medication (IN MOST CASES, NOT ALL) which can help with your depressed mood. They will also more than likely offer you talking therapy to help you alongside the medication. 2) You can sign up for our weekly help letter here - http://eepurl.com/cWqG2j Thank you for watching our video, Please like and subscribe if you have enjoyed this video. 5 MUST KNOW SIGNS of EMOTIONAL ABUSE - Mental Health talk w Kati Morton about neglect therapy stress

08:12
Try Online Counseling: http://tryonlinetherapy.com/katimorton If you are struggling, consider an online counseling session with a licensed professional at BetterHelp. They offer a cost friendly alternative to traditional therapy. I hope you all find this helpful and gives you hope for finding the support you need at a price you can afford. Thank you to BetterHelp for sponsoring this video! Today we talk about the 5 signs of emotional abuse. They are: 1. Degradation: This is when someone puts you down all the time and /or makes jokes at your expense. This can make us second guess our own feelings and experience. 2. Controlling or dominating: Do you have to plan your whole day around what they think is okay? Do they control your money or time? Many people will struggle to think on their own if this has been going on for a long time. 3. Accusing or blaming: Is nothing ever their fault? Do they blame any issues they have on everyone else in their life? Are they super sensitive to any personal criticism? 4. Neglect: Parents may give their children the silent treatment or stone wall them when they have done something they see as wrong. They may not meet any of our basic needs as a punishment for wrongdoing. 5. Enmeshment or codependence: This is when someone sees you as an extension of themselves. They will overstep boundaries and pull you into their situation or tell you inappropriate things about their life. They struggle to see any differentiation between themselves and another person. Remember -- emotional abuse is never your fault. In fact, your partner may just be trying to control or manipulate you into staying in the relationship. Here are some characteristics: • Using economic power to control you • Threatening to leave • Making you afraid by using looks, gestures or actions • Smashing things • Controlling you through minimizing, denying and blaming • Making light of the abuse and not taking your concerns about it seriously • Continually criticizing you, calling you names, shouting at you • Emotionally degrading you in private, but acting charming in public • Humiliating you in private or public • Withholding approval, appreciation or affection as punishment MY FREE WORKBOOKS: Self-Harm http://goo.gl/N7LtwU Eating Disorder Workbook http://goo.gl/DjOmkC My video schedule... My confession about mental illness

07:13
I made this video with the intention to break the stigma around mental health. In 2015, my psychiatrist and family doctor diagnosed I have anxiety disorder which maybe correct based on DSM but my psychotherapist has a different diagnosis. After months of therapy and based on evidence I have provided, I have personality organization disorder which I feel is a more accurate representation of my condition. I want people out there, especially the Bangalis and Bangladeshis around the world to pull their head out of the sand and talk about this. Our culture, our norms and our traditional ways are key factors contributing to the toxic environment that is brewing in households which pushes people like us to the edge and many of us lose the battle. I have decided that for as long as I live I'm going to work at raising awareness because if my life is to end in death anyway, this is the only legacy I can leave behind.

Self Diagnosing (Mental) Illness | How To & Should You?

14:56
This is my response to the Hannah Seymour article titled "Stop Whoring Out Your Undiagnosed Mental Illness." The article has very recently (within the past week or so) been taken down. The article was formerly located here: https://www.theodysseyonline.com/stop-whoring-out-your-undiagnosed-mental-illness In this video as a person living with severe PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) and obviously the anxiety and depression that comes with it --- I'm going to give you my opinions on if you should self-diagnose. Let's keep the convo in the comments below respectful! What are your thoughts on this? Since it's been recently taken down here is a copy of the text of the short article: The average person wouldn't say they have cancer and then ask for support from friends and family without being diagnosed. So why is it socially acceptable to do this with a mental illness? It seems like it is now a trendy thing to claim you have depression or anxiety online and IRL based on your own self-diagnosis. A diagnosis involves seeing a doctor, not some video you saw on Facebook and which made you say to yourself, "That's totally me!" That is in no way a proper diagnosis, and frankly most (not all) of those "living with anxiety/depression" articles or videos are so far from the truth. If you think you are suffering from anxiety or depression, you should see a professional. Why? 1. You might be having completely normal thoughts and everything is fine with your mental health. 2. You might have an anxiety disorder or a depressive disorder that needs professional attention. 3. You might have a completely different mental illness that you have just been labeling as anxiety or depression. What many of these people who partake in this "activity" do not know is that they are negatively impacting the lives of those who actually suffer from any mental illness. But what does labeling yourself with a mental illness do to those who are actually diagnosed? You make them look like they are faking it. You make them look like they are being dramatic. You make them seem crazy if they need medication. You make any other mental illness besides anxiety or depression seem "psycho." You delegitimize real issues that people face every day. You undermine what it means to have a panic attack. You have rewritten what it means to have anxiety or depression. You have made mental illnesses into a trend. You have made mental illnesses into a basic b*tch hashtag. You have made lives harder. You steal their resources and their support all because you want a like, a share, a comment, or a reblog. When To Get Professional Help for a Mental Illness

05:29
There are depression and anxiety tests you can take online to see if you should see a professional for your mental health. Are these always accurate? What kind of professional should I see? If I have been depressed for a week does this mean I have a mental illness? These are just some of the questions I cover in this video. Mental health does not only involve the mind but has a direct correlation with the body. I do my best to make videos that describe treatments that can help both the mind and body while making them fun and motivational. My main focus on this channel is depression and anxiety since I experience both personally. Let's fight the stigma together. Borderline Personality Disorder - mental health Kati Morton Self-Harm, Eating Disorder & BPD

10:33
Try Online Counseling: http://tryonlinetherapy.com/katimorton If you are struggling, consider an online counseling session with a licensed professional at BetterHelp. They offer a cost friendly alternative to traditional therapy. I hope you all find this helpful and gives you hope for finding the support you need at a price you can afford. Thank you to BetterHelp for sponsoring this video! Borderline Personality Disorder, Self-Harm and Eating Disorders. In this video I talk about their relationship. Many of the symptoms of BPD lead us to acting out in SH or ED. Many of you will find that you can associate with some of these symptoms, but remember that you must be properly diagnosed by a medical professional and exhibit at least 5 of the symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). If you have been diagnosed with BPD the best thing for you to do is to purchase a Dialectical Behavior Therapy workbook (I recommend a good one on my website in the Amazon books section at the bottom of all my pages) and also I recommend that you find and join a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBP) group in your area. These inner experiences often cause them to take impulsive actions and have chaotic relationships. Causes, incidence, and risk factors The causes of borderline personality disorder (BPD) are unknown. Genetic, family, and social factors are thought to play roles. Risk factors for BPD include: Abandonment in childhood or adolescence Disrupted family life Poor communication in the family Sexual abuse This personality disorder tends to occur more often in women and among hospitalized psychiatric patients. Symptoms People with BPD are often uncertain about their identity. As a result, their interests and values may change rapidly. People with BPD also tend to see things in terms of extremes, such as either all good or all bad. Their views of other people may change quickly. A person who is looked up to one day may be looked down on the next day. These suddenly shifting feelings often lead to intense and unstable relationships. Other symptoms of BPD include: Fear of being abandoned Feelings of emptiness and boredom Frequent displays of inappropriate anger Impulsiveness with money, substance abuse, sexual relationships, binge eating, or shoplifting Intolerance of being alone Repeated crises and acts of self-injury, such as wrist cutting or overdosing Signs and tests Like other personality disorders, BPD is diagnosed based on a psychological evaluation and the history and severity of the symptoms. Treatment Many types of individual talk therapy, such as dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), can successfully treat BPD. In addition, group therapy can help change self-destructive behaviors. In some cases, medications can help level mood swings and treat depression or other disorders that may occur with this condition. Expectations (prognosis) The outlook depends on how severe the condition is and whether the person is willing to accept help. With long-term talk therapy, the person will often gradually improve. Mariah Carey Opens Up About Mental Disorder

Singer Mariah Carey is going public about her struggle with bipolar disorder. Ana Kasparian, Ben Mankiewicz, and Mark Thompson, the hosts of The Young Turks, break it down. http://www.tytnetwork.com/join Tell us what you think in the comment section below. Read more here: http://people.com/music/mariah-carey-bipolar-disorder-diagnosis-exclusive/ “In this week’s PEOPLE cover story, Mariah Carey reveals for the first time her battle with bipolar disorder. Although she was first diagnosed in 2001 (when she was hospitalized for a physical and mental breakdown), “I didn’t want to believe it,” the superstar singer-songwriter tells PEOPLE editor in chief Jess Cagle. Carey says she finally sought treatment recently after “the hardest couple of years I’ve been through” — years of professional upheaval, an E! reality show and romantic drama. “Until recently I lived in denial and isolation and in constant fear someone would expose me,” she says. “It was too heavy a burden to carry and I simply couldn’t do that anymore. I sought and received treatment, I put positive people around me and I got back to doing what I love — writing songs and making music.” Hosts: Ana Kasparian, Ben Mankiewicz, Mark Thompson Cast: Ana Kasparian, Ben Mankiewicz, Mark Thompson *** The Largest Online News Show in the World.
