Peripheral Neuropathy Relief in the Feet & Legs - Ask Doctor Jo

07:04
Peripheral neuropathy is basically when you have damage to your peripheral nerves from either a trauma or disease. This can cause your hands and/or feet become numb and tingly. I'll focus on the feet/legs for this video. See Doctor Jo’s blog post about this at: http://www.askdoctorjo.com/peripheral-neuropathy-feet-legs Peripheral neuropathy can be caused from diabetes, medications, or even chemotherapy, as well as many other things. Having good flexibility and strength in these areas will help. The first stretch will be a calf stretch. Sit on the ground with your legs straight out in front of you. You can bend the leg you are not stretching towards you. Put a belt, towel, or dog leash around the ball of your foot. Keep your back and knee straight, and relax your ankle. Pull your foot towards you with the strap until you feel a stretch. Hold this for 30 seconds, and do it three times on each side. Next are ankle pumps. With your legs straight out in front of you, place a roll just under your ankle so your heel can move freely. Trying to keep your leg straight and moving only at your ankle, pull your foot up towards you, and then push it down like you are pushing on a peddle. Then you will do ankle circles. Again, try not to move your whole leg. Keep the movement at the ankle. Do ten one direction, and then reverse it and do ten the other direction. Now you will do a simple straight leg raise (SLR). You want to squeeze your muscles tight to lock out the knee and pull your toes towards your head to keep the whole leg straight. This will work your hip flexor muscles when you lift your leg off the ground. Use slow controlled movements to make sure you are using the muscles and not momentum. Start off with ten, and work your way up. Then, you are going to lie on your side. The top leg is going to stay straight and pull your toes up towards you. Keep your body in a straight line as well. This is going to work your hip abductor muscles. Then you are going to work the bottom leg working your hip adductor muscles. Same as above, keep the leg straight. Start with ten of each of these, and do both sides. In standing, you will do a heel/toe raise off the ground. Stand with your feet about shoulder width apart, come up on your toes as high as you can. Try not to lean forward, but bring your body straight up and slowly come back down. Push off as much as you can so your heel leaves the ground. Then lift your toes off the ground, alternating back and forth. Start off with ten and work your way up to 20-25. The last exercise will be a balance series. Stand on one foot, but hold onto something sturdy. Try to balance for 30 seconds to a minute. When that becomes easy, just use one finger one each side. Then just one finger for balance, and finally try balancing without holding on at all. HIV Rash Pictures on Arms, Face, Chest, and Legs

03:21
Our Video Topic: HIV Rash Pictures on Arms Face Chest and Legs. What is HIV Rash? Any rash is an area of the skin that is irritated and shows redness, swelling and can be painful or itchy. Early HIV Rash A rash is a symptom of HIV that usually occurs within the first two months after becoming infected with the virus. Like other initial symptoms of HIV, it’s easy to mistake this rash for a symptom of another viral infection. Therefore, it’s important to learn how to identify this rash and how to treat it. How long does HIV Rash last? The length of the HIV rash will depend on its cause. If the cause is due to infection then antiviral or antibiotics must be taken. If it is related to a certain medication it may take the time to adjust to the medication or if changed then it will last until the medication is cleared from the system. What does HIV Rash feel like? The rash may burn or be itchy. If the rash is picked at or scratched a lot there will be more pain noted and this could also cause infection. Does HIV Rash come and go? Yes, if the rash is due to the lower immune system the rash may come and go many times. If it is due to medications then with the change of dosage or medication the expectation is that the rash does not continue. What are HIV skin lesions? A lesion on the skin is any opening that is not supposed to be there. If the rash is scratched or has a blister that opens this would be considered a lesion. Does HIV Rash itch and burn? Yes, it may burn or itch, this is not always the case but does happen depending on the cause. When does HIV Rash appear? Usually, it appears when the immune system is at its lowest. 9 Foot Problems Your Feet Reveal About Your Health

06:19
9 foot problems Your Feet Reveal About Your Health In this video I will reveal what could be lurking behind your most common foot problems. I will also show you what it may mean about your general health and what you can do about it Let’s get straight into it No 1. Sudden Hair loss on the feet and toes What this might mean is you have Serious circulation problems You may think not having hair on your toes is a good thing especially during sandal season, but having hair on your toes is actually a good thing. Get it checked out Sudden baldness can be a sign that your feet aren’t getting enough blood flow to sustain hair growth. Expect your doctor to check for a pulse in your feet, which is an indication that your heart may not be able to pump enough blood to your feet. 2. You feel Frequent foot cramping What this may mean is your suffering from either Dehydration or nutritional deficiencies Randomly occurring cramps are extremely common in the feet so don’t get too worried. They can be as serious as circulation and nerve issues, or as harmless as a nutritional deficiency. If you’re exercising, be sure to drink plenty of water, since dehydration often leads to muscle cramping. You might also try upping your intake of potassium, magnesium, and calcium (with your doctor’s go-ahead, of course), since their deficiencies make cramps more common. Or you may like to try For relief, soaking your feet in a warm foot bath and stretching your toes toward your nose, not pointing down. If the cramps don’t let up, see your doctor who can test for circulation issues or nerve damage. 3. A sore that won’t heal What this may mean – well its probably a sore that’s taking time to heal but it could also mean Diabetes or skin cancer Stubborn sores are red flags for diabetes. Uncontrolled glucose levels in the blood can lead to nerve damage all the way down to your feet, which means any cuts, sores, or scrapes can come and go without you ever feeling it. If infection sets in you could be in trouble. A non-healing wound can also be a sign of skin cancer. Melanoma can pop up anywhere on your body—even in between your toes—so be sure to include your feet in your regular skin checks. (Brush up on your mole-detecting skills here.) 4. constantly cold feet What this may mean: Hypothyroidism Hypothyroidism is the most common cause of feet that just can’t get warm. And if you’re over 40, you could be living with a sluggish thyroid without even knowing it. Unfortunately, cold feet are the least of your problems—hypothyroidism can also cause hair loss, fatigue, unexplained weight gain, and depression. Get your feet feeling toasty again by heading to your doctor for a simple blood test, and you’ll start warming up shortly after starting the daily medication. 5. A Sudden enlarged big toe What it might mean: Gout or other inflammatory issue if you The sudden onset of a red, hot, swollen, or painful joint then get immediate medical attention,”. It may be nothng or it maybe something more serious such as gout, inflammatory arthritis, infection, or trauma. 6. Bunions What it might mean: An Inherited faulty foot structure If you thought your bunions were caused exclusively by a closet full of gorgeous (yet restrictive and often painful) shoes, you can stop blaming the boutique. Bunions are actually a sign of a flawed foot structure that’s often inherited and aggravated by inappropriate shoes. 7. Heel pain especially in the morning What it might mean: Plantar fasciitis You can’t mistake it—that sharp pain in the bottom of the heel when you get out of bed or stand up from a chair. It’s a strain of the ligament that supports the arch of the foot. whether you did it by wearing too-tight shoes, walking in flip-flops, or wearing worn-out workout trainers, the longer you let it go, the longer it takes to heal. Your podiatrist will probably tell you to ease up on walking at first, rethink your footwear, and adopt a good stretching routine. 8. Flaky, itchy, or peeling skin What this may mean: a Fungal infection Even if you’re never donned an athletic jersey in your life, you could still be walking around with athlete’s foot—which is basically a fungal infection. It causes itchiness and peeling, and can be treated by applying anti-fungal cream and keeping your feet as cool and dry as possible during the day.

Man amputates toes infected with gangrene using pliers because NHS waiting lists - TomoNews

01:20
DEVON, ENGLAND — Paul Dibbins, from Devon in England, was desperate to save his leg from the clutches of a deadly infection, so desperate that he decided to take matters into his own hands. The Torquay Herald Express reports that the diabetic former soldier’s toe troubles started in March 2015, when he got frostbite after fixing a car in freezing weather. His right leg was set to be amputated from the knee down due to complications with his diabetes. But doctors had to tend to another emergency and the surgery was cancelled at the last minute. Dibbins claims the hospital never called him to reschedule the procedure, so he spent the next nine months treating his own wounds. His efforts paid off, as the foot started healing. Unfortunately, his toes became infected with gas gangrene, which can be deadly. Doctors told him the toes had to be removed, but that he had to wait six weeks for an operation. The former army lance corporal decided to do the amputation himself, and used pliers to cut off bone and tendon to rid himself of the gangrenous appendages. He didn’t take any painkillers, and only bit down onto a towel for the pain. A surgeon who saw what he did on his foot called him crazy, but praised the work and called it “textbook.” ------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets. Leg Ulcers 7 Facts About Leg Ulcers You Must Know

07:15
Important facts about leg ulcers, what causes them, how they can be prevented and cured. http://theveincarecentre.co.uk/ 01935 873 951 https://www.facebook.com/theveincarecentre https://www.iwantgreatcare.org/doctors/dr-haroun-gajraj Leg ulcers are common -- approximately 2% of adults will have a leg ulcer at some stage in their lives. Literally thousands of people develop a leg ulcer each year in the United Kingdom and many of those get more leg ulcers as the years go by. Despite the misery they cause, leg ulcers remain a neglected problem. I am going to tell you the 7 essential facts should you know about leg ulcers. Number 1 -- What is an ulcer? The medical definition of an ulcer is a break in the epithelium of a body surface or lining. Many of us will be familiar with a mouth ulcer. This is a break in the cell lining the mouth. It can be caused by an injury such as biting the inside of the mouth by accident. Well if the skin breaks down anywhere on the body it is called an ulcer. If the ulcer is on the leg and has been present for more than 6 weeks it is called a chronic leg ulcer. Number 2- What causes a leg ulcer? Four out of 5 ulcers -- that's 80% - are caused by a problem with the leg vein pump and they are called venous ulcers. The leg vein pump is the mechanism by which blood flows out of the leg back to the heart. So problems with the deep veins such as obstruction from a deep vein thrombosis, superficial vein reflux or perforator vein problems can cause venous leg ulcers. The leg vein pump depends mainly on good ankle movement, good calf muscles and healthy leg veins. A minority of leg ulcers - about 15% - are caused by problems in the arteries that carry blood into the leg. About 95% of venous leg ulcers can be correctly identified by their appearance, by checking for pulses in the feet and by checking sensation. As most leg ulcers are venous -- that's what I am going to concentrate on. Number 3 -- Where on the leg do you get venous ulcers? Well venous leg ulcers appear on the lower part of the leg usually just about the ankle. Often, there are varicose veins or thread veins around the ulcer and the leg is usually swollen. The skin is often thickened and discoloured by varicose eczema which may actually develop many months or years before the ulcer as a warning sign that the vein circulation is not normal. Number 4 -- Who gets a venous ulcer? Well these ulcers affect people who have deep vein problems, usually from a past deep vein thrombosis (DVT), people who have superficial venous disease or those with ankle mobility problems. Leg ulcers are more common as we get older. Number 5 -- How do you treat venous ulcers? The aim of treatment is to get the ulcer healed as quickly as possible. This usually means graduated compression either with bandages or compression stockings. In most cases, antibiotics, creams and ointments are not necessary. Once the ulcer is healed it is very important to identify any problems with the superficial veins or perforator veins and that these are treated to reduce the risk of another ulcer. This means getting a full assessment with a duplex ultrasound scan. Number 6- Can you cure a leg ulcer? Well this is controversial. Some would say that if the problem is only in the superficial veins, the veins under the skin, or in the perforator veins that connect these superficial veins to the deep veins, then the ulcer can be cured. While there is good evidence that such treatment will greatly reduce the risks of getting another leg ulcer, if the skin has been very damaged and the ulcer has healed with a lot of scarring, this area of the leg may remain vulnerable and a trivial knock or injury might cause another skin breakdown even though the vein abnormality has been completely eradicated. Number 7 -- How can we avoid leg ulcers? Well there are 3 things I would suggest. Firstly, if you are unfortunate enough to suffer a deep vein thrombosis (DVT), it should be treated promptly to limit the damage to the deep veins. Unfortunately, damage to the deep veins cannot be reliably reversed by surgery. So, prompt treatment with anticoagulants -- blood thinning medication -- reduces the extent of the clot and the damage to the deep veins. Secondly, if you have had a DVT, you should consider wearing good quality medical grade compression socks -- some studies suggest that doing so may reduce the risk of leg ulcers after a big DVT. Thirdly, if you have superficial vein reflux have it treated early to reduce the chances of progression to varicose eczema which is itself a warning sign that the skin is damaged and liable to ulceration. Now I hope you have found this useful. Don't forget to subscribe to keep up to date with the latest on veins. Thank you for watching my video. Early Warning Signs of Pancreatic Cancer

06:08
Early Warning Signs of Pancreatic Cancer Diabetes, especially if it comes on suddenly. Recently, the Mayo Clinic published startling research showing that 40 percent of pancreatic cancer patients had been diagnosed with diabetes one to two years before discovering they had a pancreatic tumor. Researchers believe the diabetes is caused by tumors that simply haven't been detected yet. The problem is, diabetes is very common, and the majority of diabetes isn't pancreatic cancer, so doctors are trying to develop screening tools to tell the difference. Right now, they say family history is an important clue. If you're diagnosed with diabetes that seems to come on suddenly and you have no family history of diabetes, bring this to your doctor's attention and ask for further screening for pancreatic cancer. Yellowing of the eyes or skin. Even a small pancreatic tumor can block the bile duct in the head of the pancreas, causing bile to build up. This causes jaundice. Itchy skin, palms, and soles of feet. A little-known side-effect of jaundice is itchy hands and feet. It's due to a skin reaction to the bilirubin, the yellowish brown liver chemical that causes jaundice. Lack of appetite. An Italian study found that six to eight months before being diagnosed with pancreatic tumors, patients reported a sudden drop in their appetite and a tendency to feel full after eating very little. Changes in taste. In the same Italian study, some of the patients surveyed said they'd suddenly lost their taste for coffee, wine, and smoking. In fact, they said, they felt "disgust" for the smell and taste of coffee and alcohol. Abdominal pain. Pancreatic cancer sufferers remember this pain as a gnawing pain, rather than a sharp cramp or ache, and it radiates toward the back. A characteristic clue: the pain goes away when you lean forward. An enlarged gall bladder. The same blockage of the bile duct that causes jaundice can also cause an enlarged gallbladder, as the bile builds up behind the duct. The good news is that an enlarged gallbladder can be seen on imaging tests, and it may even be possible for a doctor to feel it during a physical exam. Pale, floating, smelly stools. If a pancreatic tumor prevents digestive enzymes from reaching the intestine, the result is an inability to digest fatty foods. So you end up with loose, smelly "floaters" as a result of the excess fat. Doctors say this symptom, in particular, can be an early clue and is too often overlooked. Dark, tarry stools. Bleeding in the upper intestines causes this symptom. Sudden, unexplained weight loss. Weight loss is not always, as many people mistakenly believe, a sign of advanced cancer that's spread to the liver. It can also happen because a lack of pancreatic enzymes is causing fat to pass through the body undigested. New videos everyday! This Happens If You Dip Your Feet In Vinegar One Night A Week!!

04:03
This Happens If You Dip Your Feet In Vinegar One Night A Week!! Apple cider vinegar is an oriental product with great benefits and uses. Not only culinary but also medicinal, the origin of this product is completely natural and is achieved through a process of fermentation of sugars from fresh and ripe apple. Apple cider vinegar, in addition to its very characteristic aroma, has substances that are biologically active, with which it is possible to eliminate bacteria and germs that can be very harmful for our organism. ACV is also used for cleaning our home, disinfect the body and conservation of food, in addition is being used to treat breathing and digestive problems and even to lose weight. Apple cider vinegar foot bath Our feet, often quite forgotten, have a lot of germs due to its permanent exhibition and lack of oxygen. Therefore, it is very normal to have dry feet, asperities, calluses and even fungal infections. Using ACV in your foot bath will ensure a deep and healthy disinfection. Also, you will kill fungi and microbes responsible for bad odor. All you need to do: Heat a little water to a medium temperature, between 16 to 18 °C you can opt for water at a higher temperature, but never hot. Fill a bowl deep enough to submerge your feet. Add a glass of ACV. Add a few drops of lavender essential oil if you want to improve your sleep quality. It will also help to improve the aroma. The foot bath should never last less than 30 minutes. https://youtu.be/IrgQz9i4eow

How to Recognize Gout Symptoms | Foot Care

Watch more How to Take Care of Your Feet videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/510232-How-to-Recognize-Gout-Symptoms-Foot-Care Learn how to recognize gout symptoms with this Howcast video about foot care. Gout is typically characterized by a sudden onset of acute pain, redness, and swelling. It typically occurs in the big toe joint. There usually is no history of an injury to an area. One goes to bed, and the attack either occurs while you're sleeping, or you first notice it when you get out of the bed in the morning. Patients describe the pain as so intense that just sheets alone touching it can cause excruciating pain. So what is it? How does it occur? Our bodies normally make uric acid when we break down purines. It's normal. Sometimes, however, we make too much uric acid, either through overproduction or under-excretion. Purines are normal in our body. Purines also can occur in some foods. If we get too much purines, our bodies can't handle the amount of uric acid it makes. The uric acid is then converted into urate crystals. Urate crystals are tiny needle-like crystals that get deposited in your joint. It typically occurs on your first attack in your big toe joint. On subsequent attacks, it can occur in any joint. Gout is a serious condition, but the good news is, through diet modification and medications, it can be well-controlled.

Diabetic Neuropathy

01:51
Pat Schulkins is one of the millions of Americans with type 2 diabetes. "Oh I probably have had it around 15 years," says Pat Schulkins. She monitors her glucose, but when it came to the state of her feet, Pat was unfeeling. About half of diabetics have this side effect called neuropathy. "These patients, especially when they get really bad, lose the ability to feel their feet. So they don't know when there's a problem," says Dr. Andrew Belis, foot and ankle surgeon on staff with Lee Memorial Health System. Diabetic neuropathy is nerve damage brought on by uncontrolled blood sugar. The feet and toes are most commonly affected. The lack of sensation increases the risk of serious problems when injuries and sores go unnoticed. That's exactly what happened to Schulkins. "It was like a big blister kind of, inward though. It wasn't sticking out like a blister does," says Schulkins. By the time she noticed the ulcer on her foot, it was almost too late to save. "The ulcer was there and it was chronic and resistant to care. And we got to change courses and address the underlining bone structure, so we basically reconstructed her foot so there's not these high pressure spots where the ulcer or the bone would break through the skin," says Dr. Belis. Experts stress the importance of knowing the symptoms, which may include, tingling, burning, pain or numbness in the feet; getting annual foot exams and wearing approved diabetic shoes if needed. "Even simple things like an ingrown nail can get infected; it can get down to the bone and can risk losing the toe. You or I notice a sore or even a small cut on your foot people with diabetes have less feeling they may not notice it until two or three weeks later. By that point it could have erupted into a full blown infection," says Dr. Belis. Although she managed to side step an amputation, Schulkins will never take her feet for granted. "And I know, I never thought it would happen," says Schulkins. How to Fix Ingrown Toenails Quickly and Easily

05:25
Have you ever suffered from an ingrown toenail? Then you know how painful it can be when the side of a toenail grows into the soft skin nearby. Though it usually happens to the toenails, a fingernail can actually become ingrown too. How does this happen? And what are some ways to take care on an ingrown toenail? An ingrown toenail can be caused by shoes that are too tight, nails not being cut right, a nail injury, or having uncommonly curved toenails. Also, people who have diabetes, or other health problems that stop the blood from flowing to the feet properly, are more likely to get ingrown toenails. Some signs of an ingrown toenail are pain that doesn’t stop, redness, and swelling. If not treated right away, onychocryptosis, or ingrown toenail, can lead to infection. This will be seen by redness and swelling around the nail, and pus and watery discharge which is colored with blood. There are ways to treat an ingrown toenail at home. However, if you already see signs of infection, go to a doctor, because an infection can spread and lead to problems. Warm Water Soak If you’re looking to lessen the pain, swelling, and tenderness brought on by an ingrown toenail, try soaking your foot in warm water a few times a day. - Fill a foot tub with warm water. - Soak your feet for 15- 20 minutes - Do this three to four times a day to help pain. Cotton Wedge Under the Nail After you soak your foot in the warm water, you can try putting a cotton wedge under your nail to make sure it grows above the skin. This will help the pain and let it heal faster. - Soak your feet in warm water and dry them very well. - Lift the nail carefully with a pair of tweezers that is not too sharp. - Put a small rolled up piece of cotton between the nail and skin. - To stop infection, use a new piece of cotton each time you soak your feet. Note: you may feel some pain in the beginning, but it will get better quickly. Make sure not to push the cotton roll more than the swollen skin lets. Epsom Salt Another good cure for an ingrown toenail is Epsom salt, or magnesium sulphate. It will help make the skin soft, so that it will be easier to bring out the ingrown toenail, and will bring down the swelling. - Fill a foot tub with warm water and put in one tablespoon of Epsom salt. - Soak your feet in the mixture for twenty minutes. - Take your feet out and dry them well. - Do this three to four times a week. Apple Cider Vinegar Apple cider vinegar is a good cure for ingrown toenail because it kills bacteria and brings down swelling. Also, because of the little amount of acid in the vinegar, it helps stop infection. Here are two different ways to use apple cider vinegar to cure ingrown toenail. Use either one until you feel they have worked. - In a small foot tub, mix the same amount of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar and warm water. Soak your toenail in the mixture for - Another way to do it is to soak only a cotton ball in raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar and then put it on your toe. Leave it covered with a bandage for a few hours before taking it off. Hydrogen Peroxide Because hydrogen peroxide kills bacteria, it lessens the risk of an ingrown toenail getting infected. It also helps lessen the pain and swelling that come from an ingrown toenail. - Mix about ½ a cup of hydrogen peroxide in a small tub filled with warm water. - Let your foot soak in the mixture for twenty minutes. - Do this one to two times a day. Another thing to be careful of, is shoes. If your shoes are too tight, they can push the nail into the nearby skin. It’s better to wear shoes made of softer fabrics with more room for your toes. Women should try not to wear high heels, to keep pressure off the toes. Big Toenail Fungus Treatment Quickie

RESTMORE for Sleep: http://amzn.to/2hPfjuF Blemish Removal Tools (Prime): http://amzn.to/2zk2dNe 40 million people in the United States alone struggle with onychomycosis, commonly known as toenail fungus. Once fungus gets under a toenail, it's difficult to treat. Topical toenail treatments don't always work and oral medications carry a risk of side effects and can be hard on the body. Meta-Seven: http://amzn.to/2hQZu6U Ear Wax Removal Tool: http://amzn.to/2A378FC Tonsil Lighted Pick: http://amzn.to/2A378FC Teeth Whitening Pens: http://amzn.to/2BjOpUo 24K Gold Masks: http://amzn.to/2Bl3RzN Is Nail Fungus Contagious? The answer to this question is, simply, “yes.” Nail fungus, or onychomychosis, is caused by tiny, living microorganisms that live on dead skin tissue. The fungi can be transmitted from one person to another either through direct or indirect contact, and it spreads just as quickly as the flu. It can also spread from one of your own toenails to another, or from a toenail to a fingernail. The risk of contracting nail fungus is especially high in warm, moist areas where the fungi thrive, for example in swimming pools, public showers and locker rooms. Another way to contract nail fungus is by sharing personal items like towels, shoes or nail clippers with an infected person. It can also spread at nail salons through nail polish or instruments that have not been properly sterilized. If you have symptoms of a nail fungal infection – such as discolored, brittle, distorted or thickened nails – it is quite possible that you got the infection from somebody else, and it is important that you maintain proper hygiene to keep it from spreading to others. Take these steps to help eliminate the infection and reduce the risk of transmitting it to others: You are watching a documentary video provided by Dr. Judy Sperling. What Is Psoriasis | Symptoms | Treatments | Causes | Pictures | Types

http://bit.ly/PsoriasisYout What is Psoriasis | Symptoms | Treatments | Causes | Pictures | Types Psoriasis is a chronic skin disorder that is marked by patches of intensely itchy and flaky skin that doesn't go away with regular moisturizers the way most ordinary dry skin will. It can affect any part of the body, even the scalp and nails, and can be mild, moderate or severe. Health Mayo clinic what is psoriasis | symptoms | treatments | causes | pictures | types The National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) is a non-profit organization with a mission to drive efforts to cure psoriatic disease and improve the lives of those affected.Psoriasis - Mayo Clinic Basic Symptoms Skin itchiness and general discomfort are the two things people most commonly associate with the disease, and it often starts out as no more than brief rashes over certain parts of the body that look like little more than dry skin. As the pictures worsens, though, those dry patches tend to get increasingly red and to grow; ultimately, the surface of the skin will dry out and form rough scales that often have a blistered look. Main Types There are usually five recognized types of the disorder, each with its own intensity and symptom specifications. Plaque psoriasis causes red, silvery-white, scaly skin lesions, and this is the most common variety. The pictures can also come in pustular form, which causes blisters to erupt on the skin that can leak pus or other fluids. This variation is most common on the hands and feet. Triggers and Causes The pictures is caused by genes, and is usually recognized by those in the medical profession as an inherited genetic disorder. Not everyone who carries the genes for the disorder will necessarily suffer from it, Climate and weather, cold and dry temperatures in particular, can trigger the disease in many people. Physical trauma can also be to blame. Psoriatic lesions often develop at the site of a skin injury, usually right where things are healing and the skin is trying to regenerate itself. Most practitioners also think that stress and emotional health play a role in symptom suppression and flare-ups. People who are under a great deal of stress often see the pictures appear for the first time, or worsen if it is already present. Treatment Options There isn't usually any way to completely cure the pictures, insofar as it is not medically possible to re-code peoples' genetic predispositions. Certain medications and treatment regimens can help keep flare-ups suppressed, though, and can dramatically alter patients' quality of and enjoyment of life. Skincare experts usually start by looking for ways to reduce triggers. Medicated creams and ointments are commonly prescribed, and in some cases UV light therapy, also known as "phototherapy," can be useful, particularly for people who live in relatively dark and cold climates or who spend most of their days indoors away from natural sunlight. Cellulitis - Do Treatments Work? Symptoms

03:04
Cellulitis - Do Treatments Work? Symptoms What is cellulitis? It is caused by bacteria that gets in through open skin and infects the surrounding area where it came in from. The most common bacteria that cause cellulitis are called Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus. Now, you might have heard of these in the past, and that's because they're very common causes of infection. In fact, Staph is usually found in healthy skin and lungs. Chemical changes to the bacteria or its environment, that's to say your body, would cause it to develop a disease or an infection. Although a cut or scratch is the most common site for cellulitis infection, even unbroken skin can become infected. The area where the skin is infected can cause a great deal of discomfort because of its symptoms -- redness, swelling, and tenderness in the area or the area adjacent to the infected part, accompanied by fever and sometimes chills. Who are at risk? Anyone of any age can develop it. It's more commonly seen in the really young, whose immune systems are still developing, and the elderly whose immune systems are naturally less resistant to disease-causing bacteria due to age. The elderly's skin is also less intact, naturally, because of the aging process. And of course, genetics will always play a role as it does in most disease processes; anyone with a family history of chronic cellulitis may develop the condition more easily than others, and may even suffer the same repetitive condition. What causes cellulitis? People who have a tendency for poor skin integrity are also at risk. Diabetics, people who have psoriasis, people who are HIV positive, or those that suffer a chronic fungal infection are at risk for developing this skin condition if their chronic disease isn't managed well enough or if their body isn't coping well enough to fight off infection. Treatment for cellulitis? It's very important that you do not diagnose yourself. Strep and staph are very common causative agents of a wide variety of skin diseases. You must seek medical attention if you suspect that you have it. There are other medical conditions that have the same symptoms as it does, such as Lyme disease which is commonly misdiagnosed as cellulitis. This infection might also be your body hinting that you have an underlying disease that made you susceptible to it, so it's very important to see your GP. The way to find out for sure is to see a doctor who will order a bunch of diagnostic tests to confirm what's really causing the swelling, the redness, and other such symptoms. In addition, taking antibiotics without the supervision of a professional could do your body more harm than good. Depending on how bad the infection is, your doctor might strongly advise that you allow him to drain the affected area. Otherwise, managing the underlying condition, if any exist, and following an antibiotic treatment course prescribed by your doctor will make the disorder go away. For any questions regarding cellulitis, its treatment and its causes, please leave them in the comments section below. Thanks for watching and I hope the information helps. How To Get Rid of A Leg Ulcer

03:53
http://www.theveincarecentre.co.uk/ How to Cure a leg ulcer If you have a venous leg ulcer this video will tell you what you need to know and what you need to do to get it healed. You are not alone, literally thousands of people develop a leg ulcer each year in the United Kingdom and for many people even once the leg ulcer is healed, they can come back. So they can be a recurring problem. Despite the pain, odour and disability they cause, leg ulcers remain a problem neglected by the health service. So why do you have a leg ulcer? Well 8 out of 10 leg ulcers are caused by a problem with the leg veins. The leg veins transport blood out of the leg back to the heart. So problems with the deep veins such as a blockage from a deep vein thrombosis or back flow in the superficial veins – called reflux can cause venous leg ulcers. If your leg ulcer is due to vein problems it will be just above the ankle. If you have an ulcer elsewhere, it might due to a different problem. See your doctor urgently. Often, there are varicose veins or thread veins around the ulcer and the leg is sometimes swollen. If you do have a venous leg ulcer it is very likely that the skin near the ulcer will be thickened and discoloured by varicose eczema which usually develops many months or years before the ulcer as an early warning sign that the vein circulation is not normal. Now to part you really want to know. How can you get rid of your venous ulcers? The aim of treatment should be to get the ulcer healed as quickly as possible. Don’t delay seeking help. The longer you have an ulcer, the bigger it will get and the harder it will be to cure. This usually means graduated compression either with bandages or medical compression stockings. Term Graduated means that the pressure exerted by the bandage or stocking is highest at the ankle and progressively less pressure or squeeze is exerted further up the leg. This graduated compression encourages the flow of blood in the vein in the right direction and it encourages healing. Antibiotics, creams and ointments are almost never needed. In fact they can make things worse. Once the ulcer is healed it is very important to identify underlying problem with the veins to reduce the risk of another ulcer. This means getting a full assessment with a duplex ultrasound scan to correctly identify the underlying vein problem so it can be treated. Nowadays, this is done without surgery or general anaesthetic. A number of non-invasive or non-surgical treatments for vein problems are available such as endovenous laser. So here are my top tips. Get help as soon as you have an ulcer, request treatment by compression bandages or medical socks and get the underlying vein problem diagnosed and dealt with as soon as possible. Heal SWOLLEN Legs Ankles Feet NATURALLY (edema cure fix heart disease kidney liver walking help diet

05:52
This video will give you a tip on possibly healing swollen legs, feet with diet. I'm not a doctor so consult with your physician before any changes in lifestyle. Originally I thought I was suffering from deep vein thrombosis DVT which blocks the arteries going to and from your legs and feet. UPDATE: 6/1/2015 After my feet continuing to swell for almost a year I got health insurance and went to the doctor and did an EKG, blood work, etc. & showed no signs of something wrong. I decided to go to the cardiologist and they did an echocardiogram & stress test. My heart was functioned at 100%, no enlargement, blockages, etc. However they discovered I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve. You suppose to have a tricuspid valve. Next they are going to do a CatScan to see if there is calcification of my aorta. There is probably leakage so the reason for the edema. Overall I'm happy to know what is going on.
