Honda Civic: Why Does My Clutch Pedal Squeak?
http://honda-tech.com/how-tos is the leading Honda Accord and Civic resource for technical DIY guides. There is nothing more annoying to a car owner than hearing a new noise from the vehicle, and wondering what it is, where it is coming from or if it’s a bad sign. With the Honda Civic, one common noise is a squeak that chimes in whenever the clutch pedal is pressed. For the full step-by-step article, please visit: http://honda-tech.com/how-tos/a/honda-civic-why-does-my-clutch-pedal-squeak-377263 There are few common causes of this squeak, and all are very easy to fix. This video will shine a light on those causes, and what you can to do repair it. It will take less than an hour of your time to troubleshoot the clutch squeak. The cost will vary depending on the brand of clutch lube you choose. This is an easy task and doesn’t require any special tools to do. The materials you’ll need are: high temperature grease, bearing grease, WD-40, and a fluid bleeder kit. Step 1 – Grease the Slave Cylinder If the squeaking sound is coming from the engine bay and not the clutch pedal itself, the most common cause is the slave cylinder. This is a common issue with Civics and is a very simple issue to resolve. Remove the two 12mm bolts that hold the slave cylinder to the clutch housing. Pull back the rubber boot that covers the slave cylinder. Use a generous amount of high temperature grease lubricant on the ball and joint. Push the rubber boot back on, and then re-install the two bolts. Step 2 – Spray Lubricant on Clutch Pedal Behind the clutch pedal is the shaft-piston assembly that moves in and out whenever the clutch pedal is depressed. Over time, the lubricant on these moving parts can dry up as well. A little bearing grease will do the trick. A spray lubricant such as WD-40 will work; however, it will be temporary at best. Thicker grease lube will stay longer, and won't drip all over the place either. Crawl under your dash behind your foot pedals. Find the mechanism behind the clutch where the rod slides through the piston or the guides. Place a good amount of bearing grease to these moving areas. Pump your clutch pedal a few times to work it in. Step 3 – Replace Clutch Fluid The clutch uses brake fluid just like your brakes. This is a clear fluid. If yours is black or so dirty that you can't see through it, it is time to change it out. Remove the cap from the clutch fluid reservoir, and visually inspect the color of the fluid. Find the bleeder valve on the clutch slave cylinder under the car on the driver side. Bleed the old fluid from the clutch bleeder valve by removing the valve. Maintain the reservoir with fresh fluid as the clutch fluid bleeds out the valve. Continue bleeding fluid from the slave cylinder until it runs clear with fresh fluid. Replace the bleed valve cap and the reservoir cap. Now that you have finished diagnosing the squeak noise that was coming from your Honda you can enjoy a nice quiet ride again. Enthusiasts report that after completing these procedures they haven’t experienced any noise problems since.

Replacing A Hydroboost Unit - EricTheCarGuy http://www.ericthecarguy.com/ This is actually the first one of these that I replaced, it's a little more complicated than a regular vacuum booster but not by much. I looked up the procedure for installing the system and it said to crank the engine without starting it, if I were to do it again I'm not sure I would bother with this because the fluid didn't seem to flow until I revved the engine past 2500, once I did this things started to work normally. --- Click below and Stay Dirty Visit me at EricTheCarGuy.com http://ericthecarguy.com/ Visit EricTheCarGuy Forum http://www.ericthecarguy.com/forum/default.aspx Visit my Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/EricTheCarGuy --- ETCG Due to factors beyond the control of EricTheCarGuy, it cannot guarantee against unauthorized modifications of this information, or improper use of this information.  EricTheCarGuy assumes no liability for property damage or injury incurred as a result of any of the information contained in this video. EricTheCarGuy recommends safe practices when working with power tools, automotive lifts, lifting tools, jack stands, electrical equipment, blunt instruments, chemicals, lubricants, or any other tools or equipment seen or implied in this video.  Due to factors beyond the control of EricTheCarGuy, no information contained in this video shall create any express or implied warranty or guarantee of any particular result.  Any injury, damage or loss that may result from improper use of these tools, equipment, or the information contained in this video is the sole responsibility of the user and not EricTheCarGuy.

Bleed Brake Master Cylinder While On Car WITHOUT Bench Bleeding Done Alone-No Partner!
So I was flushing the brakes after changing my pads and rotors. I figured it was time for new brake fluid. But I screwed up! On the last brake I was flushing, I forgot to keep the master brake cylinder reservoir topped off! In fact, I let the brake master cylinder run dry which meant I introduced air into the brake master cylinder. This traditionally would require uninstalling the brake master cylinder, connecting hoses to its bottom drain port lines and running those to the reservoir with the master brake cylinder clamped in a vice and then pumping in the piston with a screw driver to cause the brake fluid to move out of the brake master cylinder and into the reservoir which would flush out all air bubbles over time - this process being called a bench bleed to remove the air from the master cylinder. However, after extensive research, I discovered a little known method for bleeding the brake master cylinder while it is still on car and better yet, without having to remove ANY brake lines or hoses! You don't even need a brake master cylinder bleeder kit! All you need is 10ft of vinyl hose! You simply connect the hose up to the front left caliper bleeder nipple and then run the hose into the brake master cylinder fluid reservoir. Then you top off the reservoir and tape the hose in place if needed to ensure it doesn't come out. Now, you pump your brakes while making sure to keep the brake master cylinder reservoir topped off with fluid so you don't introduce more air into the system. Then, after pumping the brakes (never pumping the brake petal all the way to the ground but only 2/3rd of the way tops else you risk breaking the master cylinder - or so I read) you eventually see all of the air gone from your clear vinyl hose and just see fluid running through! Then you know you have successfully removed all air from the master cylinder. Well you need to keep going even after that just about 50 or so more pumps. The more pumps the better as you are enabling the master cylinder trapped air pockets to bubble and work their way out of the master cylinder over repeated patting of the brake petal over time. After this process is done, flush all the brakes at each of the 3 remaining wheels beginning with the rear right wheel, then the rear left wheel, then the front right wheel. You can do this with any brake bleeding method - gravity, partner, vacuum pump, pressure bleeding, etc. Once all brakes are fully bled, you should be back in business! My car brakes were PERFECT after this process. Also, as a side note, when flushing the fluid in the first step from the caliper and back into the reservoir, I put a coffee strainer on the end of the hose to ensure no particles got into the reservoir. Also, the fluid I was cycling back into the reservoir was new fluid as I had already flushed all my lines with new fluid 2 days prior. So the fluid was very clean still. http://www.artbyrobot.com https://www.facebook.com/artbyrobot https://plus.google.com/+artbyrobot1 https://www.pinterest.com/artbyrobot/realistic-humanoid-robot http://www.twitch.tv/artbyrobot http://www.twitter.com/artbyrobot http://www.artbyrobot.tumblr.com https://instagram.com/artbyrobot To send me a one-time donation: https://streamtip.com/t/artbyrobot To send me an automated monthly donation: https://www.patreon.com/artbyrobot

Polo 6N2 Clutch Pedal Set Repair
This is a common Polo fault, the poorly welded bracket on the pedal set which retains the outer clutch cable breaks. The solution is to remove the pedal set, re-weld the bracket & replace, sounds simple but you will need to remove the lower dash & remove the entire steering column. I would suggest that you start with a good LED torch, a Torx set, a socket set, 13mm spanner & screwdrivers. I bought a Halfords cold chisel & punch set, 2 x M8 Stainless Steel cap head bolts (to replace the shear bolts) & a 3mm Cobalt drill bit & drill but most of all you will need patience. Remove the drivers seat & disconnect the battery, before removing the pedal set I had to remove the clutch & the the accelerator pedals. Ford Ranger & Mazda B-Series Pickup Clutch Hydraulic Release System Bleeding Procedure Part 2
The Ford Ranger and Mazda B-Series are very challanging when it comes to bleeding the hydraulic clutch release system, specifically due to the trapped air in the master cylinder and pressure line. This video shows the technique that we use in our installation lab when we work on one and it is what we recommend to diagnosis the release system, identify the problem area and then "burp" and gravity bleed the system. How To Pull And Bleed A Ford Ranger Clutch To Fix A Soft Clutch Pedal
This is how I pull and bleed my ford ranger clutches and fix a soft clutch pedal. I find it faster to just remove the entire master cylinder and bench bleed it using this method. I've never had a problem using this method and it's always brought my clutch pedal to "a like new" state. This is only how to bleed the clutch master cylinder, not the clutch slave cylinder by the bench method, we will at the beginning bleed the slave cylinder in a minor way, which can actually still increase performance on the slave cylinders behavior. My truck is a 1999 Ford Ranger XLT 2.5 however if I'm not mistaken this method is usable on any model ford ranger from the early 90s to the last 2000s. If you have any questions at all please don't hesitate to comment, would love some feed back!

S10 1998 Clutch Master Cylinder Replacement
Just as the title says. Me, having a grand ole time replacing the master cylinder in my junky old 1998 S10 2.2 liter. It actually wasn't too bad to change the cylinder out, but it was hell getting the system bled again! I had to rent a vacuum bleeding tool from the local auto parts store, and vacuum bleed it from the bottom side of the truck.

Toyota 4Runner/Pickup Clutch Master and Slave Cylinder Replacement
I recently noticed some wetness around my clutch slave cylinder on my 1987 Toyota 4Runner, 22RE, 5 speed. I didn't want to end up driving home without the ability to use the clutch so I went ahead and repalced the part before it failed totally. Follow along in this video to see the process. Whenever dealing with hydraulic systems, make sure to properly bleed the system until all new fluid has been pushed through and there are no air bubbles left.

Cant get pressure in brakes! HELP!!
The car is a 1985 Nissan 300zx. Iv had the car for about 2 months now driving it around and everything was good. The other car I hit the brakes and the car barely slowed down, they still worked but just barely, pedal goes to floor. So I carefully drove home to figure out the problem. I checked for leaks. Checked all brake lines and they are in great shape, checked calipers and hoses, also in great shape. Master cylinder and connections also no signs of leaks. So i assumed there was air in the lines and ill bleed the system the old fashion way with two ppl (pump then crack the bleeders). I looked in the reservoir and the fluid was pretty dark. Anyway we started to bleed and the two from bleeders for the first few bleeds was yellowish bubbly fuild, yuk. There was alot of air in the front 2 caliper brake lines. No matter how many times we attempted, it was mostly air and spitting a bit of fluid each time. The backs were mostly fluid no air. However our problem is we cant get pressure to bleed the brakes! Pump pump pump and the fluid would just slowly drizzle out of the bleeders, on all 4 wheels. The master cylinder/brake booster make a really distinctive fluidy sound, very bubbly. We noticed that inside the back of the reservoir there were bubbles coming from the bottom. What is this and why isnt there no pressure?? When the car is off the pedal goes to the floor with a bit of pressure. When the car is on, the pedal goes to the floor very easily no pressure at all. Is the master cylinder dead? Any help would be appreciated.

Starting an old 18rc after sitting a long time
This car is a 1973 Celica ST. It came out of the back corner of a farm yard and sat there for who knows how long. It is receiving a full restomod. The motor is an 18rc with a 4 speed Manuel. To get it running these things were replaced: Spark plugs, plug wires, coil, cleaned and gapped points, new vacuum hoses, rebuilt the carb, new fuel pump, flushed the coolant system in the engine, cleaned the acorn shells out of the radiator which was full of them due to the rad cap being left off. After all that it would start and stall right away. I had a guess that the tail pipe was full of acorn shells. I cut off the exhaust pipe and a pile of acorn shells pored out of the pipe. I tried starting the car again and it fired right up and ran. So next was getting the clutch petal to press down. We hammered on the slave cylender and the clutch pedal pushed right down. The clutch it self was locked to the fly wheel. The fix was a breaker bar on the crank pulley while someone else put the car in final drive gear and pressed the clutch and brake pedal to the floor. I was impressed even the brakes were not frozen they worked too.
