Migraine Relief Headache Relief in Pregnancy Head Pain Causes to Headaches Treatments

16:10
In This Video We Discuss Migraine Relief Headache Relief in Pregnancy Head Pain Causes to Headaches Treatments 10 Causes of Migraine Headaches in Pregnancy If you're pregnant, you're no doubt experiencing new aches and pains. If you're also one of the millions of pregnant women who experience migraines, you might be glad to know that pregnancy eases migraine headache symptoms for many women. But even if it doesn't for you, the information in this article can help you cope. Causes of Migraine Headaches Exactly what causes migraine headaches isn't known. But migraines appear to involve changes in nerve pathways, neurochemicals, and blood flow in the brain. Most women have a combination of triggers. For instance, stress, skipped meals, and lack of sleep may all trigger a migraine. And something that triggers a migraine one day may not bother you at all the next. Self-Care and Tests for Migraines Headache Headaches can be caused by a pregnancy complication called preeclampsia. So your doctor may evaluate you for that condition before making a diagnosis of migraine. Be sure to tell your doctor about all the medications you're taking, including over-the-counter products and natural supplements. Also let your doctor know whether anyone in your family has had migraines. The doctor often can diagnose migraine from a headache diary and your medical history. CT scans and other radiology tests to rule out other causes of your headaches aren't usually advised in pregnancy. That's because of the potential risks to the fetus. Acute Migraine Treatment During pregnancy Medications for Migraines If you're pregnant -- or planning to get pregnant soon -- your doctor will generally advise you to stay off medications unless they're absolutely needed. Together, you'll have to weigh the potential effects of a drug on your unborn baby. In some cases, a decision will need to be made based on scant or inconclusive research into a particular drug. Many of the anti-migraine medications to treat or prevent migraine headache and its symptoms should be avoided during pregnancy. That's because they've been linked to birth defects in babies. Other medications are associated with pregnancy complications. For instance, some have been associated with bleeding, miscarriage, or intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), a condition in which the uterus and fetus don't grow normally. Acute Migraine Treatment Acute treatment aims to stop a migraine attack after its first signs appear. Pain relievers, also called analgesics, may help ease the intense pain of migraines. These general pain-relieving drugs, though, aren't specific to the migraine pain pathway. Top 10 Preventive Migraine Treatment in Pregnancy If you have severe, recurring attacks, preventive treatment may stop future attacks or reduce their severity. Many of the drugs used for prevention were originally used for other conditions, such as high blood pressure. See a neurologist experienced with treating pregnant women. She'll prescribe a medicine in the lowest dose needed to help you and likely recommend some kind of talk therapy. Relatively safe medications for migraines include beta-blockers, such as propranolol and labetalol, as well as calcium channel blockers such as verapamil.

PINCHED NERVE in NECK Symptoms, TREATMENT to HELP Pinched Nerve and NECK PAIN, Shoulder Pain CAUSES

15:29
9 Remedies for a PINCHED NERVE: A pinched nerve refers to a certain kind of damage to a nerve or group of nerves. It’s caused when a disc, bone, or muscle places increased pressure on the nerve. It can lead to feelings of: numbness tingling burning pins and needles A pinched nerve can cause carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica symptoms (a pinched nerve can’t cause a herniated disc, but a herniated disc can pinch a nerve root), and other conditions. Think of it like an expressway. Your spine is like the main on-ramp for the nerve. As the nerve leaves your neck, it has on- and off-ramps throughout your body. A pinched nerve is like a blocked entrance ramp. The compression on the nerve leads to inflammation and irritation, sending tingling, numbness, or a pain sensation down your limb. – Erin Hassett, PT, DPT, OCS, orthopedic physical therapist in Chicago Some pinched nerves will require professional care to treat. If you’re looking for a way to alleviate mild pain at home, here are nine options you can try. Some of them can be done at the same time. What’s important is to find what works best for you. 9 Treatments 1. Adjust your posture You may need to change how you’re sitting or standing to relieve pain from a pinched nerve. Find any position that helps you feel better, and spend as much time in that position as you can. Pinched nerve in your neck For a pinched nerve in your neck, check to be sure that your chin is in a neutral position, not jutting too far forward or pulled too far back. Also make sure your shoulders are in the right position, gently squeezing your shoulder blades together to ensure upright posture. Strengthening scapular muscles like the rhomboids, middle trapezius, and lower trapezius can help better support your neck once symptoms have resolved. The most comfortable position for a pinched nerve in the neck varies, but often lying down helps to alleviate the compression on the nerve. – Erin Hassett 2. Use a standing workstation Standing workstations are gaining popularity, and for good reason. Mobility and standing throughout your day are crucial to preventing and treating a pinched nerve. If you have a pinched nerve or want to avoid one, talk with your human resources department about modifying your desk so that you can stand while working. If you can’t get a standing workstation, be sure to get up and take a walk each hour. Roller balls for tight muscles and an hourly stretching program are a good idea if you use a keyboard frequently. (Wrist braces or supports aren’t recommended as an early treatment strategy.) 3. Rest No matter where you have a pinched nerve, the best thing is usually to rest as long as possible. Avoid the activity that is causing you pain, such as tennis, golf, or texting. Rest until the symptoms have completely resolved. When you do start moving that part of your body again, pay attention to how it feels. Stop the activity if your pain returns. 4. Splint If you have carpal tunnel, which is a pinched nerve in the wrist, a splint can help you rest and protect your wrist. This can be especially helpful overnight so that you don’t curl your wrist in a bad position while you’re sleeping. 5. Stretch Gentle stretches can help relieve the pressure on your nerve and improve your symptoms. Don’t go too deeply into a stretch. If you begin to feel pain or discomfort, ease up on the stretch. Remember that small movements can have a big impact. Anything that makes you feel better you should do, as long as it isn’t increasing your numbness or pain. Try to spend time in the positions that help alleviate the symptoms. Relieving the pressure on the nerve will help decrease irritation and pain. – Erin Hassett 6. Apply heat You can use heat to relax the muscles that might be tight around a pinched nerve. Heat also increases blood flow, which can help the healing process. You can find heating pads in various sizes at a drugstore. Hold heat directly onto the pinched nerve for 10–15 minutes at a time. 7. Use ice Ice reduces swelling and inflammation. Wrap a towel around an ice pack and hold it directly onto the pinched nerve for 10–15 minutes. 8. Elevate your legs For a pinched nerve in your lower back, try elevating your legs with a 90-degree bend in both your hips and knees. You can place a wedge or ottoman on your bed and rest your legs on top while lying on your back. This position helps relieve compression on the disc and nerve in your back. You can also lie on the floor, resting your legs on top of the couch to achieve the same effect. – Erin Hassett 9. Take an over-the-counter pain reliever If you want to try a pain reliever, you can take over-the-counter nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, like ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB) or aspirin (Bufferin). Follow the instructions on the bottle, and be sure to check with your doctor before taking any new medications.

Ibuprofen Linked To Kidney Injury In Endurance Runners

00:36
Stanford University researchers found that people taking ibuprofen while running very long distances double their risk of acute kidney injury. Researchers found that nearly 75 percent of ultramarathoners, or very long distance runners, use ibuprofen while running to relieve pain. The study tested the use of ibuprofen in ultramarathoners. For every five runners who took ibuprofen, there was one additional case of acute kidney injury. Acute kidney injury is common in marathon runners due to the high rate of dehydration causing reduced blood flow. http://www.upi.com/Health_News/2017/07/05/Ibuprofen-linked-to-kidney-injury-in-endurance-runners/1391499276631/ http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

My CAT scan @ ER. Migraine? Stroke? Poisoned?

04:43
Timothytrespas a targeted human being suffering from 'morgellons' with Lyme like symptoms, an illness we were purposely exposed to, dew attacks, gangstalking, forced relocation, covert drugging, sabotage of work/relationships/support network/ etc. suffering from painful headaches nausea vomiting dizziness, blurred and double vision, weakness, extreme exhaustion (can't stay awake) loud ringing in the ears/head, pressure in the head. For 3-4 days this has been getting worse. I may have also been poisoned by eating Chineese 'roach poison' powder. It's a messed up story and I don't want to involve the police But where we are living ( we are moving in a few days as soon as we can get the money) it is likely that someone ( I KNOW who but am not saying for various reasons) may have put roach poison in our food/drink/ice kept in the fridge. I found it in my food. Yet another problem I am forced to face. I went to my primary care doctor and she yelled at me and would not prescribe me any medication for the pain because I am 'on drugs'. Except for the cannabis, they are all perscribed. I was told I don't dress well and am seeking drugs. Yes because I am in pain I go to my doctor and ask for medication to relieve the pain. I guess I was a fool to believe that doctors would help me by discovering the cause of my brain damage, pain, vomiting, vision loss, neuropathic and physical pain, headaches, high pitched loud ringing in my head, etc. Because every time I honestly explain to doctors what's up I have been prescribed Motrin for my migraine just now on the er Why does everyone refuse to help me? I take Motrin, naproxen, sumatriptin, Virapramil and other drugs

How to Minimize Piercing Pain | Piercings

01:28
Watch more Learn about Piercings videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/490934-How-to-Minimize-Piercing-Pain-Piercings "Hello, I'm Owen Beane, I work at Chameleon Tattoo in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Chameleonbodyarts.com is the website. Chameleon Tattoo's been here more than 10 years, but ten years as such with tattooing, over the last 14 years I've been doing body piercing here in Cambridge and I'll be talking to you about piercings today. The only way to minimize the pain of a piercing is to have it done by a good piercer. Okay, so there's really no way that any sort of topical numbing cream is going to help you that much, it might do a little placebo help for you, like sort of tricking yourself into thinking that it hurts less. But a piercer isn't just dealing with the surface of the skin, we're also going through the skin, so anything that's topical doesn't really actually affect you. To properly numb an area would be like a series of injections that actually hurt worse than a piercing actually could. Something like taking Advil or Motrin or anything like that preemptively doesn't actually change the way a piercings going to feel, that would be more useful for after the piercing is done. A piercing when it's done well, quickly and efficiently just isn't that bad at all, so as long as you have it done by somebody who knows what they're doing that's how you minimize the pain of it, it's not that bad at all."

The Great Gildersleeve: Gildy Proposes to Adeline / Secret Engagement / Leila Is Back in Town

01:29:30
Premiering on August 31, 1941, The Great Gildersleeve moved the title character from the McGees' Wistful Vista to Summerfield, where Gildersleeve now oversaw his late brother-in-law's estate and took on the rearing of his orphaned niece and nephew, Marjorie (originally played by Lurene Tuttle and followed by Louise Erickson and Mary Lee Robb) and Leroy Forester (Walter Tetley). The household also included a cook named Birdie. Curiously, while Gildersleeve had occasionally spoken of his (never-present) wife in some Fibber episodes, in his own series the character was a confirmed bachelor. In a striking forerunner to such later television hits as Bachelor Father and Family Affair, both of which are centered on well-to-do uncles taking in their deceased siblings' children, Gildersleeve was a bachelor raising two children while, at first, administering a girdle manufacturing company ("If you want a better corset, of course, it's a Gildersleeve") and then for the bulk of the show's run, serving as Summerfield's water commissioner, between time with the ladies and nights with the boys. The Great Gildersleeve may have been the first broadcast show to be centered on a single parent balancing child-rearing, work, and a social life, done with taste and genuine wit, often at the expense of Gildersleeve's now slightly understated pomposity. Many of the original episodes were co-written by John Whedon, father of Tom Whedon (who wrote The Golden Girls), and grandfather of Deadwood scripter Zack Whedon and Joss Whedon (creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly and Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog). The key to the show was Peary, whose booming voice and facility with moans, groans, laughs, shudders and inflection was as close to body language and facial suggestion as a voice could get. Peary was so effective, and Gildersleeve became so familiar a character, that he was referenced and satirized periodically in other comedies and in a few cartoons. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Great_Gildersleeve

Calling All Cars: I Asked For It / The Unbroken Spirit / The 13th Grave

01:28:24
The radio show Calling All Cars hired LAPD radio dispacher Jesse Rosenquist to be the voice of the dispatcher. Rosenquist was already famous because home radios could tune into early police radio frequencies. As the first police radio dispatcher presented to the public ear, his was the voice that actors went to when called upon for a radio dispatcher role. The iconic television series Dragnet, with LAPD Detective Joe Friday as the primary character, was the first major media representation of the department. Real LAPD operations inspired Jack Webb to create the series and close cooperation with department officers let him make it as realistic as possible, including authentic police equipment and sound recording on-site at the police station. Due to Dragnet's popularity, LAPD Chief Parker "became, after J. Edgar Hoover, the most well known and respected law enforcement official in the nation". In the 1960s, when the LAPD under Chief Thomas Reddin expanded its community relations division and began efforts to reach out to the African-American community, Dragnet followed suit with more emphasis on internal affairs and community policing than solving crimes, the show's previous mainstay. Several prominent representations of the LAPD and its officers in television and film include Adam-12, Blue Streak, Blue Thunder, Boomtown, The Closer, Colors, Crash, Columbo, Dark Blue, Die Hard, End of Watch, Heat, Hollywood Homicide, Hunter, Internal Affairs, Jackie Brown, L.A. Confidential, Lakeview Terrace, Law & Order: Los Angeles, Life, Numb3rs, The Shield, Southland, Speed, Street Kings, SWAT, Training Day and the Lethal Weapon, Rush Hour and Terminator film series. The LAPD is also featured in the video games Midnight Club II, Midnight Club: Los Angeles, L.A. Noire and Call of Juarez: The Cartel. The LAPD has also been the subject of numerous novels. Elizabeth Linington used the department as her backdrop in three different series written under three different names, perhaps the most popular being those novel featuring Det. Lt. Luis Mendoza, who was introduced in the Edgar-nominated Case Pending. Joseph Wambaugh, the son of a Pittsburgh policeman, spent fourteen years in the department, using his background to write novels with authentic fictional depictions of life in the LAPD. Wambaugh also created the Emmy-winning TV anthology series Police Story. Wambaugh was also a major influence on James Ellroy, who wrote several novels about the Department set during the 1940s and 1950s, the most famous of which are probably The Black Dahlia, fictionalizing the LAPD's most famous "cold case", and L.A. Confidential, which was made into a film of the same name. Both the novel and the film chronicled mass-murder and corruption inside and outside the force during the Parker era. Critic Roger Ebert indicates that the film's characters (from the 1950s) "represent the choices ahead for the LAPD": assisting Hollywood limelight, aggressive policing with relaxed ethics, and a "straight arrow" approach. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LAPD
