If your body's pH is highly acidic most of the time, you can increase your risk for a variety of diseases. A pH balance of 0 to 6 is acid, a pH balance of 7 is neutral, and a pH balance of 8 to 14 is alkaline. If you have been eating a lot of acidic foods, you can adjust the balance by learning how to correct high acid pH with high alkali foods. Monitor your stress level If you made dietary changes and included less acidic foods in your diet and still notice a high acid pH balance, stress could be the culprit. Utilize stress reduction techniques to help reduce acidity. Change your diet Acidic foods may include meat (animal protein), dairy, white rice, wheat and white flour, including pasta. If the medication is necessary and you cannot avoid it, you may help combat the acidic pH by eating alkaline foods. Use a pH testing strip to test your pH balance. You can either test your urine or saliva. Test 60 minutes before eating a meal and 2 hours after eating. This will give you the best range of pH. Test twice a week. Monitor your alcohol consumption If you have problems with stomach acid, you may need to reduce or even stop drinking alcohol. The biggest culprits are beverages with a low ethanol concentration 5%, such as beer and wine. Fermented alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, champagne, sherry, etc.) are considered powerful stimulators of stomach acid production. No direct link has been discovered between alcohol and stomach ulcers, but people who have ulcers are also more likely to have cirrhosis of the liver, a condition often caused by heavy alcohol consumption. This is a rather demanding function as nowadays, our way of life is full of toxins. Unfortunately, as the time passes by, the liver can become sluggish and overwhelmed and this usually results in the inability to eliminate toxins properly. Instead, it stores them in fat cells, mostly in the belly area. The following symptoms may indicate a liver in need of detoxification. Let’s take a look: 1. UNEXPLAINED WEIGHT GAIN. When your liver doesn’t work 100% on removing toxins from the body, reducing calories and regular workout won’t be of much help as the body stores the unfiltered toxins in its fat cells. They can occur on any part of the body or be widely distributed on large portions of the skin. This minor but irritating problem is often caused by problems such as eczema, psoriasis, allergies, insect bites, mites, acne, excessive sweating or contact with certain poisonous plants such as poison ivy or oak. Soaps, detergents, shampoos or cosmetics that do not fit your skin can also lead to rashes. 1. Olive oil Extra virgin olive oil works as a great moisturizer for the skin to facilitate healing and promote skin renewal as it is rich in vitamin E and antioxidants. It will also relieve your skin and reduce itching. Simply rub the extra virgin olive oil or a combination of equal parts of olive oil and honey into your rash a few times a day until it heals completely. Alternatively, you can add some turmeric powder to some olive oil and apply it two or three times a day for a few days. Filled with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, turmeric relieves rashes and relieves itching. 2. Baking soda Baking soda helps to dry out rashes. In addition, it relieves the itching and inflammation associated with rashes. Add one part of baking soda to three parts of water. Apply the mixture to the affected area. Leave on for a few minutes before rinsing. Do this once a day for a few days. You can also mix baking soda with a little coconut oil to make a paste and apply it on your rash. Leave on for about five minutes and then rinse. Repeat this once or twice a day until you see improvements. 3. Aloe Vera Due to its anti-inflammatory, emollient, antibacterial and antifungal properties, aloe vera is excellent for treating a number of skin ailments including rashes. Apart from healing, it also soothes the skin, relieves itching and reduces redness. Extract fresh aloe vera gel from an aloe leaf. Apply to affected area. Leave on for at least 20 minutes and then rinse. Do this at least three times a day until the rash clears. 4. Apple cider vinegar Raw and organic apple cider vinegar is another excellent home remedy for the treatment of rashes and soothing itching. In addition, its acetic acid content helps fight skin infections that could be causing or aggravating the problem. Dip a cotton ball into the apple cider vinegar and place it in the affected area. Leave it on for a few minutes, and then remove the cotton ball. Do this several times a day for a few days or until your rash clears. 5. Neem Simmer a handful of neem leaves in water for 15 to 20 minutes. Strain the solution and allow it to cool. Soak a cotton ball in the solution and place it in the affected area for at least 10 minutes. Do this a couple of times a day for a few days. You can also use neem products, such as neem leaf extract, soap, cream or lotion. When applying neem oil, be sure to dilute it with carrier oil or water as it is too strong to use alone. 6. Calendula Calendula is an excellent herb to soothe skin irritations, rashes, ulcers, eczema, dry skin, wounds and bruises due to its anti-inflammatory, astringent, antimycotic, antiviral and antibacterial properties. Apply marigold oil to the affected area and leave it on for a few hours. Alternatively, add a few drops of marigold oil to the bath water and soak for 15 minutes, or use marigold tea as a compress. You can also apply calendula cream, lotion or ointment a few times a day until the rash is cleared.
