Immigration Quebec has announced that it will admit between 49,000 and 53,000 newcomers through the various Quebec immigration programs in 2018! FREE ASSESSMENT QUEBEC IMMIGRATION The Province of Quebec is one of the oldest provinces of Canada, and has a unique cultural identity as the only officially French province. Quebec immigration operates outside the scope of the federal Express Entrysystem, and has its own eligibility criteria and application procedures. However, like any other Canadian immigration program, the end result of Quebec immigration is Canadian permanent residence. Quebec operates economic, family reunification, and humanitarian immigration streams. The majority of newcomers to Quebec are processed through one of the province’s popular economic immigration streams. QUEBEC SKILLED WORKER The Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSW) is a popular pathway for skilled workers who want to immigrate to the province. Candidates do not need a job offer, do not need to be eligible for Express Entry, and do not need to be able to speak French. Candidate eligibility is based on a points selection grid. Candidates are assigned points for things like age, education, work experience, and language proficiency. If you meet the minimum points requirements, you’re eligible to apply to the program. There are two different application processes for QSW, depending on whether or not you’re residing in Quebec. If you are residing in Quebec, you can submit your application for QSW at any time. If you are residing outside Quebec, you have to wait for one of the program’s intake periods to open to submit. QUEBEC EXPERIENCE PROGRAM The Quebec Experience Program (Programme de l’expérience québécoise – PEQ) is an accelerated immigration program for candidates with experience in the province of Quebec. To be eligible, you must be a temporary foreign worker or an international student in the province of Quebec, among other requirements. Like QSW, you do not need a job offer to be eligible. However, unlike QSW, you do need to have at least intermediate French language ability (B2). *QSW and PEQ are both included under “Skilled worker” in the tables below. QUEBEC BUSINESS PROGRAMS Quebec Business Immigration is divided into three programs: The Quebec Investor Program is a pathway to Canadian permanent residence for high net worth individuals with management experience who make a significant financial investment in the province. The Quebec Entrepreneur Program is a pathway for high net worth individuals who intent to establish or acquire a business in Quebec which will create at least one new job in the province. This program is currently paused. Finally, the Quebec Self-Employed Worker Program is a pathway for individuals who intend to create their own job in Quebec by practicing a profession or trade. This program is currently paused. HOW DOES QUEBEC IMMIGRATION WORK? If you are eligible for one of the Quebec immigration programs, and are able to submit an application, you have to apply to the province of Quebec for a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ). Once you have a CSQ, you will be able to apply for permanent residence to Canada. Quebec releases two important immigration targets every year. The “admissions” target is how many newcomers will be accepted into the province in the year. The “selection” target is how many CSQ will be issued through each of the programs in the coming year. Because processing for permanent residence once you receive a CSQ can take months, the number of newcomers that will be admitted into the province in a given year is not the same as the number of candidates that will be selected to come. Over the years there have been some new types of performance reviews, performance evaluation, or performance appraisals that are being met with success in today's business world. These require that employee performance evaluations, performance reviews or performance appraisals be done not only for raises, promotions, or bonuses, but for an employee's growth and development. These include: Management by Objectives Review: This method, often called MBO, measures the employee's accomplishments against a clearly established set of objectives. If managers and employees begin the year by working together to list these objectives, the end-of-year performance appraisal, performance review, or performance evaluation can simply compare each goal with its final outcome. This method is simple, clear, and empowers employees in the goal setting process but it disregards non-goal-related success metrics. Ratings Scale is probably the most common review type. Using this method, a supervisor rates an employee on a numerical scale for a defined set of behaviors, traits, competencies, or completed projects. This method gains points for simplicity and functionality, but it only works well if both managers and employees share the same understanding of each point on the scale. The 360 Degree Feedback Review is a new kind of employee performance review, performance appraisal, or performance evaluation. It incorporates data from peers, supervisors and even outside parties like customers and suppliers. This broad feedback can provide a multi-dimensional picture of performance that can cancel the influence of bias. The goal is to paint an accurate picture of employee's strengths and weaknesses. Gathering feedback from multiple sources is a great way to ensure employees are rated fairly and accurately No matter which type of employee performance evaluation, performance review or performance appraisal is used, remember the goal is to foster communication between managers and employees. And I can certainly give you a few nurse interview tips :) First of all, being prepared for the nursing interview is key... but how do you prepare?? The first thing that you need to do is get comfortable talking about yourself. Which is harder than it sounds, especially with a strangers face staring back at you. However, if you know this ahead of time, you can prepare a monologe that will show that you are confident and will be a competent nurse! the nurse interview questions are usually really really hard, with tons of open end questions and also questions that make you talk about your weaknesses. You need to be honest here, talking about your failures sounds like you are saying that you are weak... but you have to focus on the valuable lesion learned and how you will improve yourself in the future!! Nursing interview, I believe you will literally bomb if you do not prepare in at least one way or another... According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, staffing services will be one of the fastest-growing industries over the next five to 10 years. Even though nurse staffing is just a small component of the entire staffing industry, competition between vendors is fierce. Sometimes when the competition heats up, basic instincts go out the window and are replaced with poor business decisions. Business owners start focusing more on the potential to create revenue rather than actively preventing losses. This article is the first of a series that will explain how temporary nurse staffing companies can avoid cash flow problems by taking the proper steps to get paid faster for their services. Many nurse staffing business owners say the most important way to get paid quicker is to send out the invoice quickly. It makes sense--the faster you invoice your client, the faster they will process their payments, right? Well, sometimes. Though I agree that sending out an invoice promptly is important to the whole process of ensuring timely payments, I would argue that it's not the first step. There is something that needs to happen even before you agree to start sending RNs into ABC Hospital. In fact, some would argue that this should be done even before you sign a contract with ABC Hospital. Simply put, know your clients before you do business with them and you'll have a much better chance of getting your invoices paid quickly. If you own a temporary nurse staffing agency, there are a number of ways you can conduct due diligence on a potential client. The first step is to take advantage of resources that are free. You would be surprised how much information you can find out about a potential client by simply performing a web search on the company name and its principles. Depending on the size of the health care facility you're searching, you might find press releases, news articles, or even court records related to the organization and its employees. For example, five minutes of some virtually effortless detective work could easily prevent you from staffing nurses in a facility that is on the verge of filing for bankruptcy protection. In this day and age, most every business has a website. So another quick way to check up on a medical institution is to go to its web site. Try to get a feel for how big the organization is and how professionally they present themselves. Then the next step is to confirm that the health care facility is in good standing with the Secretary of State in which it is doing business. Access to such corporate records is usually free of charge and available on the web. For example, if you visit http://www.capitolservices.com/stateLinks.asp, you can easily access every state's Secretary of State web site for searching corporate records. Checking with the Better Business Bureau and speaking with other industry professionals and networking contacts is also a good way to get an elementary feel for the legitimacy and professionalism of a potential client. As a nurse staffing business owner, you can also watch the nightly news and/or check the local newspaper to find information on health care institutions where you are thinking of staffing. Naturally, when a hospital or nursing home is about to close its doors, it's a big deal, and the press will be on site to tell the audience about the latest developments. Another quick and virtually painless way to help get invoices paid faster is to make a quick call to the facility's Accounts Payable (AP) department. Don't be afraid to ask an AP clerk how long it currently takes to pay vendors; this is obviously very valuable information to a temporary nurse staffing agency. At the very least, I would highly recommend doing the things listed above before committing to any kind of contract with a facility. However, if you're not satisfied with your findings, there is a next step, which will require expense as well as spending some concrete time learning about the available resources and how to do it yourself. Subscribing to services like http://www.knowx.com and/or http://www.credit.net for a minimal fee can help you search corporate information in more detail, allowing you to view pertinent documents and credit ratings. If you're willing to spend a little more, a more detailed way of finding out how a medical facility pays is to run a business credit report in one of the top credit bureaus: Dun & Bradstreet, Experian or Equifax. The level of detail of investigating before doing business with a new facility is entirely up to you, but it's an important step that can prevent financial difficulties before they even have a chance to flare up. Please stay tuned for the next important step in how to get invoices paid quicker. In part two of this series, I will discuss how invoicing accurately and quickly can also help keep those receivables in check.

You need to send supporting information with your form to help us to make a decision on your claim more quickly. Most people will need to attend a face-to-face assessment. Information relevant to your claim is really important to help us understand how your long-term health condition or disability (both mental and/or physical) affects you day-to-day. Send us the different types of information that you have, this doesn’t have to be medical details. Information from someone who supports you, like a nurse, social worker or carer is really helpful too. Just send photocopies of what you already have. It’s your responsibility to send this to us but please only send us copies of what you already have - don’t contact your GP or health professional to ask for new or additional information as they may charge you for this. If we need more information from your GP or other professionals involved in your care we will ask for it ourselves. Here are some examples of relevant supporting information you should send with your form (if you have them): • social care plans • reports from health professionals • test results such as hearing or vision results, and • statements from carers or family members, like a carer’s diary. • prescription lists You generally don’t need to send: • appointment letters or cards • general information or factsheets about your condition or medication • bus or train tickets to appointments you’ve attended Unless you strongly believe this supports your claim. If you don’t have any supporting information, please complete the form with as much detail as you can. If the effects of your health condition can change, for example during the day, day-to-day or from week to week, please include as much detail as you can on the form. Just send in what you have with your form (or as soon as possible afterwards). Your supporting information could help speed up your claim and get a decision on PIP sooner. If you need more time, give us a call or use the Next Generation Text or video relay services. If you are disabled or have a health condition, you may also be able to get help with employment or financial issues like: • Housing Benefit or Universal Credit • an ‘Access to Work’ grant to help cover the costs of practical support in the workplace • or help with your Council Tax There’s also lots of useful information in the disabled people section on GOV.UK If you are experiencing financial difficulties and you need urgent advice, you can contact your local Jobcentre Plus office, your local council or a local support organisation.
