Living Fence and Woven Walls - An In-Depth discussion of design and implementation
http://www.edibleacres.org This is a LOOONG one! I take a very thorough look at our living fence system. In this fence there is a combination of dead branches piled up with pollarding and coppicing happening of living existing shrubs and trees. On the inside of this initial fence setup is planted food forest elements to fill out and provide more protection as well as yields for human use. This whole process puts to use material being generated in the clearing of shrub land and establishes an incredibly rich soil and diverse habitat for wildlife. Can you grow all the food you need to survive?
In this video we will travel back in time and see the first aquaponics experiment. The purpose of this experiment was to evaluate if we could use the aquaponics method to grow food year round, leading to us being able to grow all the food we need for ourselves inside, year round, on our solar powered, future, off-grid sustainable aquaponics system homestead. VOICE OF TREES - The story of a man who planted a forest
Many of us know about Padma Shri. Jadav 'Molai' Payeng - the forest man of India who created 1360 acres of dense green forest in Assam, single-handedly. When we got lucky to shoot a film on him, so many things were running in our mind. But when we got up close with Jadav, we were swept clean by his simplicity and noble pursuit. How he walked the way for the past 35 years to build the forest that flourishes now with Elephants, Rhinos, Tigers and more was simply stunning. Had he been doing it for his own wellness, he’d have stopped after planting a tree or more near his house. But a whole big forest in the remote district of Jorhat? It is so hard to comprehend his commitment, passion & perseverance. In a time where politics is becoming a business and the common people are becoming materialistic consumers, we are forgetting the root of our very survival - Mother nature! It is the green warriors like Jadav Payeng who remain as the light and restore faith in humanity. VOICE OF TREES is his voice, as he speaks about his journey, his love for trees, his vision and his questions on the life today. Special thanks to Mahesh Venketaswaran who made this entire trip possible, and Anil Kumar Gade, who led us through the jungle and set everything up from scratch to finish. Watch the film and share the voice of the trees. It deserves to be heard loud and far. Join my wife and myself on our adventure of building our little homestead farm in the Cascade Mountains of the Pacific Northwest. Watch as we establish a garden, orchard, build our home, install solar panels and windmill, apiary, raise rabbits, ducks, chickens, geese and goats. Learn with us as we explore pasture management and forest management, and join me as I build a tree house in the timber upon my mountain. We are attempting a different form of prepping. I am not an "EXPERT" or "PROFESSIONAL" at any of the content demonstrated within any of my videos. I am a novice, Do-It-Yourself guy whom tries to do everything on my own and save money. None of the content of these videos should be construed as advice or assumed correct. This content is merely a demonstration of how I am doing it. Any advice should be sought by a professional. This is for entertainment purposes only. In this episode I demonstrate how I glean twigs from trees to grow my own FREE fruit tree orchard. For apple trees, the fruit will not be the same as the mother plant, those apples are good for hootch, cider, apple sauce, and pie apples.

Real Prepper - Sustainable Farming - Early Bird Farm Hodges SC
If you really want to be a prepper you better know how to raise, grow and harvest food and water. I thought a visit to a totally self sustaining farm [Early Bird Farm - Hodges Corner SC] would be the best way to prep in place. This is a farm that raises animals, grows crops in the grown, hydroponically, aquaponics, and has a method of harvesting all (animals and plants). Paul Coleman owner of Early Bird Farm is an extremely interesting farmer and knowledgeable. He is giving classes at Cultivate in Greenville SC in March here is a link ( https://www.facebook.com/events/18409... ) to the schedule of events. The price is extremely affordable. If you want to learn how to be self sustainable this is where you should start. If you're going to do it (be self reliant) learn how to do it right! I am visiting people like Paul because I have a little mini farm (shown in the video) that I had closed down a couple of years ago....and am trying to get it back up and going. Love gardening, farming, raising animals and harvesting. You should know that this it is a lot of work but soooo rewarding! ++=+++++++++ If you enjoy learning about new things and places to go in SC upstate area you can follow here on YouTube, Visit me on FaceBook, and check out my blog. ++++=====++======= Thank you for visiting and feel free to share this video with your friends (would love a link to my site here)

Learn How to Grow a Sustainable Garden
Experts from the Virginia Cooperative Extension, or VCE, will be at Central Regional Library on March 18 and 25 to teach people how to make organic vegetable gardens grow. Nancy Berlin, the Prince William County Natural Resources Specialist with VCE, said the two classes in the Sustainable Garden series will walk people through the organic gardening process, which includes seed selection, soil preparation, dates to plant, how to plant seeds, growing and harvesting. "We'll teach you all the techniques that you need to know based on research ... from Virginia Tech and Virginia State University." Berlin said the first class will include information on starting seeds, soil preparations and composting. Soil preparation is key to organic gardening. "When we prepare for an organic vegetable garden, it's a lot different than traditional gardening in that you really have to take care of your soil. Once you build the soil, it's something that you don't have to do again and again." The second class will deal with what to plant and when to plant it, how to rotate crops, how to harvest and successive planting that can keep a garden going well into the colder months. Classes are free, but registration is required. The classes will run from 10:30 until noon, Berlin said. "I'd recommended registering for the class as soon as possible because it's limited space available in the community room at the library." The Virginia Cooperative Extension also offers classes in parenting, nutrition, health and the environment. Call 703-792-7747 for more information.

Autonomy Farms Flood
Autonomy Farms sits at the base of the foothills in the southern San Joaquin Valley. The farm was established in 2013 with the hope of helping people reconnect with the small family farm through education, planning family events and offering a local source for organic meat, eggs and produce. Meredith, the owner, had previously held a career in sales within the food and beverage industry and slowly became jaded over time with the disconnect between farmers and consumers. She recognized that people need to see and touch where their food comes from and set out with a goal to have a small farm where people could do just that. As much as California farmers had needed and wanted a wet winter, the storm that hit on Friday, February 17 was more than what the farm could handle. With the overflow of several surrounding ditches, and the ground being so wet from previous storms, the 20 acre farm was hit with runoff that ruined all the vegetable crops, killed their flock of chickens and eventually covered 95% of the farm with anywhere from 1 to 4 feet of standing water. For food safety reasons, even if the crops were able to survive, they would not be able to be sold for fear of contamination from street runoff and making people ill. Once the water eventually dries up, the farm has a long road ahead with the clean up of the several feet of silt, testing for contamination and amending the soil, replanting the crops, managing general fixed expenses without revenue from sales of the crops and partnering with local agencies to manage and build infrastructure to help reduce the risk of future floods. To help the farm rebuild, please visit: http://www.gofundme.com/autonomyfarms For more information on the farm and what farmers markets they participate in, please visit their website: www.autonomyfarms.com

I don't have any expensive survey equipment like a transit or laser level so I've got to make due with a string and 2 metal posts. Here's how I measure the elevation of the land to find out if I can drain some standing water to another part of my property. If you're trying to figure out the slope or elevation of your land and don't have the proper equipment, this is the way to do it. Walt Disney World magical familly vacation 2017
We started 2017 in a magical way, by spending a full week at Walt Disney World resort During our vacation we stayed at the Art of Animation resort. One of the newest value resort, which brings the magic of Disney movies to life with its great décor of Finding Nemo, Lion King, Ariel and Cars. We started our family adventure with a breakfast with Mickey at the Chef Mickey restaurant at the Disney's Contemporary Resort. From there we entered the wonders of Magic Kingdom. It was a long and amazing day, full of rides like the mine train, Ariel s Grotto, flying Dumbo, meeting the princesses and amazing shows like the Disney parade Our second day we went on an adventure at Animal kingdom, by far my favorite resort. The tree of life is a wonder to see, and the resort has plenty to offer with it s safari, plenty of amazing shows like Finding Nemo and Lion King, and amazing rides like Mount Everest Our third day was at Epcot, where we were surprise by how much fun we had at the park, as our kids are still young. Our daughter Arielle loved space launch. The walk around the world was pretty fun, giving our kids a little taste of the world. Had an amazing character s experience at the Garden Grill Our 4th day was at the Hollywood studios, where we explored the wonders of Disney movies, like watching a live Indiana Jones scenes, riding Toys story ride, and seeing lots of Star Wars live characters This was our first Disney resort family vacation, and we had such a magic fun time. I can see future Disney resort vacation for our family The Walt Disney World Resort is an entertainment complex in Bay Lake and Lake Buena Vista, Florida, near Orlando and Kissimmee, Florida. The resort is the flagship destination of Disney's worldwide corporate enterprise. Opened on October 1, 1971, Walt Disney World is the most visited vacation resort in the world, with an attendance of over 52 million people annually.[1] The resort is owned and operated by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, a division of The Walt Disney Company. It was initially operated by Walt Disney World Company. The property covers 27,258 acres (43 sq mi; 110 km2), housing twenty-seven themed resort hotels, nine non–Disney hotels, four theme parks, two water parks, several golf courses, a camping resort, and other entertainment venues. Magic Kingdom was the first theme park to open in the complex, in 1971, followed by Epcot in 1982, Disney's Hollywood Studios in 1989, and the most recent, Disney's Animal Kingdom in 1998. Designed to supplement Disneyland in Anaheim, California, which had opened in 1955, the complex was developed by Walt Disney in the 1960s. "The Florida Project", as it was known, was intended to present a distinct vision with its own diverse set of rides. Walt Disney's original plans also called for the inclusion of an "Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow" (EPCOT), a planned community intended to serve as a test bed for new city living innovations. After extensive lobbying, the Government of Florida created the Reedy Creek Improvement District, a special government district that essentially gave The Walt Disney Company the standard powers and autonomy of an incorporated city. Walt Disney died on December 15, 1966, before construction began. Without Disney spearheading the construction, the company created a resort similar to Disneyland, abandoning experimental concepts for a planned community.

Our cargo carrier - http://amzn.to/2kZHSq8 The lights that go with it (4-pin) - http://amzn.to/2lbr55M Safety Orange Ratchet Straps - http://amzn.to/2kKyCre --- Visit Bee Bayou - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsPs5jkaJXZQz0oUgXF2zZw We have purchased a full colony of bees, hive and all, from Bee Bayou Apiary & Farm. First things first - we need to get the bee yard ready for them. We moved the rails back a bit (just to give me more room to run the tractor in that area) and also lifted them up higher by another cinder block. We're also trying to have a bit more weed control directly around the hives to make working them easier. We then drove south to Columbia MS, where we stayed the night. Bee Bayou sealed up the hive and made sure it was ready for us to pick up right away. The next morning we made the last 20 minute jump from Columbia to Tylertown and got the bees. Then it was a 2.5 hour haul home to get the bees set up and opened as soon as possible to make sure they didn't overheat. Thankfully, even though it was up to 70F while we were driving, it was an overcast day with a few mist-like sprinkles mixed in, so all was good! --- Visit http://www.jandjacres.net for more hobby farm activities. To see how I built this plow, please check out my playlist https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLCTG4sIxL7eWL7HCDhhXYl-wFU-jCeVUK I just wanted to share my build and try to explain how it is different than what you will find out there... And never mind the parts used, try to focus on the unique design features and improvements from my last model. All-terrain, perfect back-dragger with a long and high reach to get over the roadside snowbanks and drifts, when they are over 4 feet high, 10 feet wide and go across your property from end to end and you need to get out of your yard to go to the doctor, or hospital, or pharmacy, or even for groceries... I live in a land of extreme snow and this toll will change the way snow gets handled in rural areas, especially where flooding is an issue and you need to get the snow far from the house... What did you think of my angle iron base, with the rear facing cutting edge and forward lip at over an inch and a half off the ground: for early, late and warm weather snow that needs to be removed from lawn, gravel, sand. This plow will glide over the grass when going forward, and actually lay a base of snow... Once the base is frozen over, the plow will actually move tons and tons of snow in forward mode, without having to touch the ground... I know, I have been testing my designs and it Works... I can stack snow to 7 or 8 feet high, without straining the truck, or having to climb any mounds, the long arms and rear facing blade will allow the plow to climb the mound and push the snow to the top and over... Built in Freezing weather, and ready for use in under 2 weeks... From an idea and an old hot water tank, to a working, installed snowplow in under 2 weeks... total cost of under $200... You can also see me at danbythesea.com See how I am making this truck ready for plowing with the hot water Using some steel that I was able to get cheaper (I just picked from left-overs and was charged shorter than)... I just walked around their stock and said:"this, that, those, that, and how tall do you think that is (the angle iron, he charged for 6 feet, but it is just under 8 feet)... All the steel was under $100 Getting a good start and happy with eh pieces I chose (so far), buying without a plan is always risky, but with good vision, it is possible to save close to 40% (or more) on supplies. The Plow will be made from an old hot water tank salvaged and deconstructed to build an 8 foot wide snowplow for the front of my 1999 f150 4X4 Lariat pick-up truck... This is a backyard build and is mostly from recycled, re-purposed and found objects. Some purchases were made but just the minimum. Eustace Conway: Self-Sufficient or Threat to Society?
Video produced by Nicole Revels Media. Keep up with my work here: or visit my website Government Gone Rampant - Action Alert: Boone, North Carolina: For decades, Eustace Conway has lived an independent, sustainable life, building shelter for himself on his land, growing his own food, setting up outhouse facilities, composting, and allowing others to learn these methods first-hand so that we may once again have a populous versed in the healthy manner of primitive survival skills. After a preliminary visit from the local Planning vesves Inspections department, several independent local government agencies together performed a raid on Mr. Conways property, and now the Watauga County Health Department has ordered a cease vesves desist on Mr. Conways educational activities, and the Planning vesves Inspections Department has cited many violations on the property, as well as ordered that Eustace Conway bring his structures up to code, or demolish the structures on his own property. Some of the code citations include using unmarked lumber for his constructions (structures are made from cut-down trees without grading system indicators), and requirements for permits, plumbing, and wiring for any structure. Some of the structures cited requiring permits, wiring, and/or plumbing installation include a roofed-over platform, a doghouse (shown in video), and a tree house (shown in video). Clearly, that which is law in todays society radically contradicts Mr. Conways entire way of living. The situation illustrates the fact that a central-planning society is incompatible with individual freedom, personal choice, self-sufficiency, and individuality, concepts upon which this country was founded. As of right now, Mr. Conway says that he is still in shock vesves trying to figure out how to proceed. The director of the Watauga County Planning vesves Inspections says that it is his hope that Mr. Conway will comply with PvesvesIs demands, though he is not prepared to say what measures will be taken if this is not done, as they will have to consult with the county attorneys in order to determine how to proceed. There are many agencies (including state-level) who have reviewed Conways circumstances, and are attempting to take corrective measures, such as special exemptions within the code; however, stumbling blocks are continually met when one entity or departments attempt at code correction counters another departments code requirements. Attempts at amending code also take some length of time. Mr. Conways life remains in limbo. To volunteer to help Mr. Conway with legal advice, donations, or other services, contact Turtle Island Preserve or Nate Cox of WhoIsNateCox.com, or keep up with the conversation vesves updates on Conways situation through the facebook page public communication medium: Interviews and video by Nicole Revels.
