Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos. Liverpool have a chance to make a Champions League final for the first time since 2007. After a superb 5-2 semi-final first leg win over Roma, Jurgen Klopp's side must now finish the job in Italy. While the odds are stacked in the Reds' favour, the Serie A side have shown they're more than capable of producing comebacks after sensationally beating Barcelona in the previous round. To add to Liverpool's list of potential concerns, Roma have yet to concede a goal at home in the Champions League this season. Liverpool trained in Roma's stadium, the Stadio Olimpico, on Tuesday evening ahead of the fixture, here are six things we noticed. Read More Mohamed Salah receives hero's welcome as Liverpool stars arrive in Rome ahead of Champions League semi-final second leg All by myself... Jurgen Klopp will take charge of his first game without Zeljko Buvac after Liverpool's assistant manager temporarily left his role due to personal reasons. Buvac had been at Klopp's side for 17 years but after reports of a dispute the pair are now seperated. The Reds boss will have to put all that to one side and focus on the job at hand on Tuesday night. Filling Buvac's void Another needing to focus on the task at hand is Peter Krawietz, Liverpool's number three. With Buvac absent, 'The Eye' - as Klopp calls him - will need to fill the void left by his former colleague. What a game to start. This is it, fellas Liverpool have arrived in Rome, they're in the Stadio Olimpico and they're just 24 hours away from playing the second leg. This is it. Klopp is snapped giving his men a speech prior to training, probably to calm a few nerves. A hero returns Less than a year after leaving Roma, Salah has returned. The Egyptian spent two seasons at Roma, scoring 34 goals in 83 appearances, before sealing a £37million move to Anfield. Can he follow up his two goals in the first leg? No smiles round here After seeing what Roma did to Barcelona in the previous round Liverpool know they can't afford to be complacent. Roberto Firmino, Virgil van Dijk and cut serious figures during the training session. Fans can expect a professional performance on Wednesday. "Don't worry, I'll assist you" James Milner broke the Champions League record last week for most assists in a single campaign, eclipsing Wayne Rooney's tally from the 2013/14 season. The 32-year-old will no doubt be looking to extend his record and help lead Liverpool into the final. poll loading Will Liverpool reach the Champions League final? 9000+ VOTES SO FAR YES NO

It comes after Scott, who has been with Barbara for 25 years, opened up for the first time about the EastEnders star's four year battle with Alzheimer's disease. “She suddenly has no recollection of our history," he said. “She’ll look at her wedding ring and say, ‘Are we married?’ But that’s the thing about this cruel disease, isn’t it?” Scott, 55, explained that daily medication had kept some symptoms at bay, but after a detoriation in recent weeks, Scott felt the need to speak out and make her condition public. “She’s not frightened of me, so I’m thankful for that. Over the last couple of days, the conversation has turned to, ‘I just think it’s wonderful that you come here to look after me’ — and she keeps thanking me." Scott, who has been married to Barbara since 2000, added to The Sun: “I say, ‘Barbara I’m not here to look after you, I’m here because I love you’.” He said he shows her photographs of them together over the years to remind her of their past together. “She said to me the other day, ‘It’s not fair, because you’re a young man and you shouldn’t have to look after me. You should have a girlfriend and enjoy your life’.” Scott replied to his wife: "That's not how it works, Bar". The 55-year-old, who met Babs when she was 55 and he was just 30, also bought a white board to write on each day. He writes what day it is as well as milestones from their marriage. He said since then they have cut back on what they do in public, but he still tries to make plans for them so the actress can be out of the house and around people. If he can get her out and around friends, people will see flashes "of the old Barbara," he shared. "You hear that famous laugh bellowing out - wonderful.” Following her deterioration, Scott revealed he can no longer leave her at home on her own. Earlier this month he had to leave to go to the bank, but within minutes he had received voicemails from worried friends who said the actres had called them confused and asked how long he had lived in their home. Scott said he will always take advice from professionals, but for as long as is "humanly possible", he will care for his wife in their home. The former England boss, sacked from his job following the host nation’s 2015 World Cup humiliation, spent more than two years rebuilding his reputation. His road to redemption ended in Spain’s Basque country where Isa Nacewa kicked the Irish province to a record-equalling fourth European Champions Cup. The captain’s penalty strike, with 100 seconds left of the match, broke the hearts of Racing 92, who had led four times. But it brought only joy for Lancaster, 48, who finally savoured glory after four Six Nations runners-up finishes and that World Cup flop with England. “What a special coach,” Johnny Sexton said of Lancaster. “To come in and do what he's done has been incredible.” A clearly emotional Lancaster said: “It’s not about vindication, but it means a huge amount to me obviously and a huge amount to my family and friends. “They were the ones who all stood by me in the tough times after the World Cup; never once wavered in their belief in my ability. This is for them really. It’s been nice to give them an opportunity to see me smile.” Racing would have forced extra-time but Remi Tales missed his drop goal attempt with the final kick of the game. Tales was only on the pitch because Dan Carter failed a late fitness test and Pat Lambie, who started the game, was injured after two minutes. The Liverpool stopper was at fault for two of Real Madrid's goals as his side were beaten 3-1 in Kiev. Real opened the scoring after Karius' attempted throw rebounded off Karim Benzema and rolled into the net before the German dropped Gareth Bale's long-range effort to cap a miserable night. Sir Ken Dodd's final wish was to wed his long-term love
Sir Ken Dodd married the love of his life just two days before his death on Sunday at the age of 90. The legendary entertainer wed long-term partner Anne Jones last Friday, two weeks after returning home from hospital, where he was treated for a chest infection. Making his vows from his sick bed at his beloved home in Knotty Ash, Liverpool, he got his final wish that she should have the title Lady Anne. Robert Holmes, the star’s close friend and publicist of 47 years, said: “Ken wanted to make her Lady Anne at last, before he left her. "When Ken came out of hospital he was still very frail and I think he knew he was going, despite all the typically upbeat talk about getting back on stage. “When they got home to Knotty Ash he asked Anne to marry him. They’d talked about it before, obviously – they’d been engaged for 40 years! “But she was still surprised, although she said ‘yes’ immediately.” . Mr Holmes said: “Ken was in bed, too frail to get up, but he spoke beautifully to say his vows and he even had a glass of champagne – a tickle tonic. “Anne said she was so very proud of him because he was terribly poorly.” . Mr Holmes said: “He slipped away with Anne at his bedside, as she has been throughout his illness – and just as she’s been at his side for more than 40 years. “To my mind, he was one of the last music hall greats. With Ken gone, the lights have been turned out in the world of variety. He was a comedy legend and a genius.” Former Bluebell Girl Lady Anne, who is in her 70s, spoke outside their home yesterday, saying: “I have lost a most wonderful husband. “We first met when I was in the Ken Dodd Christmas Show in 1961 at the Manchester Opera House. “I’ve had the supreme joy and privilege of working and living with him as a partner for the past 40 years. “The world has lost a life-enhancing, brilliant, creative comedian with an operatically trained voice, who just wanted to make people happy. “He lived to perfect his art and entertain his adoring audiences. I’ve been overwhelmed by the love and affection I’ve already received from dear friends and the public, and I thank you all for being here.” Yesterday a book of condolence was opened at Liverpool Town Hall for people to pay their respects to Sir Ken, who is celebrated with a statue at the city’s Lime Street station and was knighted in 2017. Flags in the city were flown at half mast and flowers from “all the Diddy Men” were left outside Knotty Ash Primary School. Tributes flooded in for a giant of comedy and music. Sir Paul McCartney tweeted a picture of himself with the rest of The Beatles in the 60s, and said: “Farewell to my fellow Liverpudlian the tattyfilarious Ken Dodd. “Beloved by many people in Britain and a great champion of his home city and comedy. “We met him on a few occasions as The Beatles and always ended up in tears of laughter. “Today it’s tears of sadness as well. See you Doddy.” Video Loading Video Unavailable Click to play Tap to play The video wil

Eric Bristow speaks candidly about his past loves and one-night stands
Five-time world darts champ died on Thursday aged 60 following a suspected heart attack. He left behind his devastated partner Rebecca Gadd, 39, who has paid tribute to her “treble 20 for ever man”. But here, in extracts from his autobiography : The Crafty Cockney, the sporting star speaks candidly about his past loves and one-night stands. If I had my life again I wouldn’t change a thing, apart from one or two women I went out with. I met my first love, Pauline, when I was 16. She was beautiful and she thought I was magic. We hit it off straight away and had a brilliant time. Then, towards the end of summer, the Monday league restarted so I couldn’t see her that night. Later the Tuesday league began, then the Wednesday. She said: “When can I see you?” “How about next summer?” I replied. Read More 'We drank plane dry of champagne then hit the bars': on his wild times as darts superstar She may have been my first love but darts came before everything – that was the problem. I couldn’t have any relationships because I just didn’t have the time. The only love affair I had was with darts. I’d meet girls, sleep with them and they’d ask me: “When am I going to meet you again?” “You ain’t,” I’d reply. I’d be shagging this woman one night and the next night drinking with her husband. But I was 17, it was a case of “Whatever”. Most female darts players around this era were big girls who you wouldn’t want to fight, never mind have with. Maureen Flowers was different. She was slim, attractive and had lovely long blonde hair. Every red-blooded male dart player fancied her. I was no exception. I made a point of always chatting to her and we got on. As soon as she split from her husband all the players were trying to get into her. I waited for the best moment to ask her out. She said yes. She was different from other women I’d dated in that she could play darts and play well. An added bonus was she didn’t drink alcohol. She drank tea instead. She was a good influence because instead of going out chasing skirt when I was away at tournaments, I’d go back to the hotel with Maureen and have a pot of tea and some sandwiches. Maureen and I had travelled the world together. Then she fell out of love with darts. She didn’t want to play and didn’t want to see me play. She wanted a life away from all the travelling. When I split with Maureen in 1988 it was party time again but the party didn’t last long because a few months later I met Jane. I was at a tournament in Middlesbrough and had gone clubbing with two other players, Alan Warriner and Chris Johns, as well as my driver Trevor. We went to a club called The Mall. Jane was with her pregnant mate. I asked her for a date and added: “I don’t want to pull you now. Let’s have a date tomorrow night.” Read More 'He lived on fags, Guinness and curry': Bobby George reveals the excesses of late pal I didn’t want to go with her half-cut. It would’ve been messy. Danniella Westbrook reveals her 'rotting face hell' after years of drugs
Daniella Westbrook has revealed that her bones are “rotting away” in her face after years of drug abuse and botched surgery. The former EastEnders star’s left cheekbone is “wasting” away and she’s been left with screws instead of teeth that cut her tongue as she speaks. Her Frankenstein-style botched surgery means that some days the 44 year old wakes up and the left side of her face is completely “sunken”. Other days her cheek swells up in agony as her bones are “decaying” and “weakened”. “I just don’t look like myself any more,” Danniella tells Mirror Online in an exclusive chat. “Obviously I’m going to age a lot faster anyway because of the drugs but I didn’t need this as well.” The former cocaine addict is currently in recovery from the drug that made her septum fall out in 2000. She claims it’s the botched surgery she had while on a TV show in November 2015 that left her with osteoporosis. The condition is slowly weakening the bones in her face and causing her left shoulder to “disintegrate”. She has no left cheekbone and no gums on the top of her mouth. She wears a whole denture but it’s just sitting on the roof of her mouth. “They need to take a piece of bone out of my skull and put a plate into my face but they’ve got nothing to stick the plate on at the minute because the bones not strong enough,” she explains. She’s currently “drinking 12 pints of milk a day” to strengthen her bones in preparation for reconstructive surgery. “I’ve got to laugh or I’ll cry but it makes me so unhappy,” she reasons. “The thing that makes me most unhappy is everyone goes, ‘It’s coke’. I’m like, ‘Listen if it was coke, I’d be like yeah it’s coke’. But this is not my fault, it’s down to the TV show that I’ve got bad teeth.” The pain was so bad in January 2016 that she had to have emergency treatment while on Celebrity Big Brother. “The bone hadn’t closed around the screws so they took me out of the house three times to a dentist which they’re not meant to because the pain was so bad,” she says. And it left her so dangerously ill with septicaemia that she almost died while staying in hospital for seven weeks. “The blood got into where the bone was, if it weren’t for the Royal London I’d probably be dead,” she says. “I did nearly die, I had two lots of IV drips in each side and then they took all my teeth out again and gave me this denture which has broken my heart because I didn’t need all of my teeth out in the first place.” Danniella has been left with crippling anxiety about her looks that leaves her scratching her arms compulsively until they bleed. “It has really affected my whole life I couldn’t work the year I came out of Big Brother I couldn’t work at all, it makes me nervous and I’m scratching I get really bad anxiety,” she says. “Some days I wake up and I’m so swollen and other days it can look really sunken.” She was left needing a facelift to tighten her skin where her bones rotted away. Albert Pierrepoint hanged Ruth Ellis but she was just one of more than 400
At 8am Ruth Ellis ate her final breakfast of scrambled egg. But even on that last day she wasn't allowed the dignity of eating with proper cutlery or plates for fear she might use the crockery as a weapon. The breakfast tray was taken away and then the deputy governor came in with the chaplain and they sat at each end of a table. At Ellis' back was a green screen running the width of the prison cell behind which was a door. Ellis, who had been sentenced to die for shooting her lover, removed her blue diamanté glasses – worn because she was short-sighted - and passed them to the deputy governor. She told him coolly: “I won't need these any more. Thank you." Behind her a door opened, then more footsteps and another door opened and then the cell door opened the screen drew back. Ruth Ellis was last woman in Britain to be hanged - but did she have an accomplice and was the lover she killed beating her up? At the sound Ellis jumped out of her chair knocking it over but stood there now was executioner Albert Pierrepoint – the calm voice of experience. He said to her, “It's all right, lass. It's all right.” Picking up the chair he told her to sit down again, adding: “Put your arms behind the chair'." He then flicked his hand and a rope s onto her wrist and within seconds she was tied with her hands behind her back. Swiftly he walked her the dozen or so steps to the gallows and there was no time for final words. Earlier – as was always the case – Pierrepoint had used his subject's weight, height, gender, and build, a precise mathematical formula and his own immense experience, to set the drop at 8 feet, 2 inches. With Ellis carefully positioned on the exact centre of the the trapdoor, she was hooded and a noose placed around her neck while assistant executioner Royston Rickard crouched behind her and strapped her legs together. As both men cleared the trapdoors Pierrepoint pushed the lever. Ruth Ellis was dead. It had taken just 12 seconds and illustrated perfectly why Pierrepoint was so highly regard as a hangman that when he resigned a year later the Home Secretary wrote to him asking him to reconsider. Between 1934 and 1956, he executed more than 400 men and women, among them Ellis, the last woman to be hanged in Britain, Gordon Cummins, the "Blackout Ripper", John George Haigh, the acid bath murderer. He also dispatched Derek Bentley for his part in the “let him have it” murder of a policeman, Bruno Tesch, co-inventor of the insecticide Zyklon B used in the Holocaust and Lord Haw-Haw – real name William Joyce who was the voice of the “German Calling” propaganda broadcasts during the Second World War. Pierrepoint also put to death Timothy Evans, wrongly convicted of murdering his daughter, and subsequently Rillington Place monster John Christie, the real killer. He hanged large numbers of Nazi war criminals convicted at the Nuremberg trials, including Josef Kramer, the Beast of Belsen. Today more than 50 years since the last execution

Man 'shoots girlfriend dead' on Facebook Live, saying 'I'll make you famous'
A terrified woman was shot dead by her boyfriend as she made a desperate plea to family and friends on Facebook Live, police said. Rannita Williams, 27, was gunned down by Johnathan Robinson during the chilling broadcast on Thursday. Robinson, 36, was heard saying "You wanna be famous? I'm gonna make you famous," before opening fire on the mum-of-three. Williams, known affectionately as 'Nunu', was taken to hospital but later died of her injuries. Nunu began the horrifying livestream shortly before 11am on Thursday morning. A man, identified as her partner Robinson, can be seen in the background, pacing back and forth while muttering about "making people famous". The man orders Nunu to apologise, to which she addresses the camera and says: "Hey y'all, this is Nunu,...I didn't have any business doing all that. My page been blocked." Robinson is heard shouting: "Everybody wanna be famous, let's be famous today" before allegedly opening fire on police officers, who had surrounded the house in Shreveport, Louisiana. The petrified young woman screams "Stop Johnathan" before the phone falls to the floor. The shadow of a rifle is seen on the ceiling before four more gunshots are heard. The man is heard to say: "Now b****, game over. Game over b****." Suspect Robinson barricaded himself inside the property, in the Caddo Heights neighbourhood, before surrendering, police said. Nunu and a police officer were shot during the incident. The young mother was taken to University Health Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Sadly, she passed away a short time later. Eric Bristow's incredible act of generosity that set Taylor on road to stardom
Phil Taylor has paid an emotional tribute to Eric Bristow after he died on Thursday night following a heart attack. The five-time world champion passed away aged 60, with fans at the Premier League fixture in Liverpool bursting into a rendition of "There's only one Eric Bristow" as commentator Rod Studd stopped speaking. One of darts' first superstar players, Bristow won his five titles as a player in the British Darts Organisation, dominating the sport between 1980 and 1986. His first title, a 5-3 defeat of Bobby George, marked the start of his dynasty. A founder player as a number of leading names formed the breakaway World Darts Council (now PDC), Bristow continued to be a key personality within the sport even after his talents waned. Read More There's only one Eric Bristow": Darts stars and fans in tears as Crafty Cockney's death is announced His friendship with Taylor started in the 1980s and saw him mentor the 'The Power' to become the greatest player of all time. The Crafty Cockney famously loaned Taylor £10,000 when he was starting out - but only on condition he quit his his £52-a-week job in a ceramics factory making toilet roll handles. Bristow said: "I funded him all over the world for about four years, but we never totted it up and it wasn't about the money. Read More OBIT: Bristow conquered the world of darts and proved that hunger is the best sauce "It was only the cost of an extra airfare and an extra bedroom, it wasn't much, a few hundred quid here and there. "He was from Stoke, where I lived, and the idea was just to get him up there, see if he could do it. "When I first started sponsoring him and he kept getting beat, they were all laughing at me, saying what are you sponsoring him for? But they don't laugh at me anymore." Bristow took Taylor under his wing and sponsored him during his early years on the circuit as he tried to make the grade. After travelling to Las Vegas for the North American Open, The Power was sent packing in the first round as he took time to find his feet during his debut year on tour. However, he picked up his first title in Canada in 1988 and trounced Bristow 6-1 in the World Championship final two years later. Taylor went on to become the greatest darts player ever, proving Bristow's investment a shrewd one. “I wanted to see if I could create a world champion,” he explained. “I sponsored Taylor for four years – mind, I never thought he would win the world title 17 times!” 'The Power' took to Twitter on Friday morning to pay his own tribute to the man who was the biggest name in darts throughout the 1980s and marked the beginning of the sport's television boom. "Words cannot express how sad and shocked I am to hear the terrible news about Eric's passing a huge influence on my career and a larger than life character the world has lost a legend. RIP pal," wrote the 57-year-old Taylor, who retired following his defeat in the 2018 PDC World Championship final.

Instagram star dies in horror motorcycle crash as family suffer third tragedy
An Instagram star's family have suffered a heartbreaking triple tragedy after she died in a horror motorcycle crash on a favourite stretch of motorway. Motorcycle enthusiast Annette Carrion, 33, was killed after her father Fernando and mother Sofia died just four months apart. Annette had gained a huge fan base on Instagram where she posted modelling photos for her 146,000 followers and promoted a motorcycle group for women she had co-founded. One of her last posts was a tribute to her 81-year-old father just four days before her motorcycle went off a picturesque and curvy motorway in California. An online obituary stated: "Annette was greeted at heaven's gate by her parents Fernando and Sofia (Anguiano) Carrion who preceded her in death." Read More British boy, 9, dies in freak accident after 'colliding with another child' while playing football on Spanish beach Annette's mother Sofia, 58, died on November 24 - one day after Thanksgiving - after she battled pancreatic and colorectal cancer. In her tribute to her father, who died on March 19, Annette told how her father's heart was broken following his wife's death. She wrote on Instagram: "After my mom passed away four months ago, I could see that my dad’s heart was shattered. He was so depressed after his wife of thirty-five years was no longer there to keep him company. "His health had been declining for a while, but I think he pushed through and held on until my mother passed. Last week, he was finally able to reunite with her." She added: "My dad passed away at eighty-one years old on Monday, March 19th. He and my mom are together again." Annette was killed when her 2015 Triumph motorcycle went off the side of the Ortega Highway in Lake Elisinore, south-west of Los Angeles, on Saturday, two days after her late mother would have turned 59. It was one of her favourite stretches of road. Just weeks earlier, Annette, from Irvine, had posted a YouTube video in which she tearfully paid tribute to her mother and revealed the tattoo she got in memory of her. She told how her mother, a Jehovah's Witness, was diagnosed with pancreatic and colorectal cancer a couple of years ago, and refused certain treatments due to her beliefs. In the video, Annette showed off a tattoo of a pair of scissors on one of her fingers. She got the tattoo to celebrate her mother, who worked as a hairdresser. Annette said in the video: "I’ve never had anyone close to me pass away so it’s been really difficult to deal with. "I started to think about all the times that she won’t be there for me in the future. "She won’t be there when I get married, she won’t be there when i have kids, and it really does hurt my heart." Annette had co-founded a motorcycling group called the Redline Ravens and used social media to encourage women to ride. Her boyfriend Jimmy Busak, a fellow motorcycle rider, paid tribute to her on Instagram, writing: "Two and a half years ago, this beautiful angel entered my life, and instantly

Lampard and Lineker among mourners paying respects at Ray Wilkins memorial
Lampard and Lineker among mourners paying respects at Ray Wilkins memorial: https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/gary-lineker-frank-lampard-gareth-12462842. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos. Excitable chatter among the make-up artists backstage at Sky Sports was of the department's Christmas lunch later that day when Ray Wilkins took the chair. Charming as ever, or “dangerously well” as the great man would often say, pundit Wilkins was dabbed in enough warpaint and powder to temper the studio lights' glare off that shaven dome and to mask the crow's feet around his eyes. Thanking the girls for their care and attention, without a word he slipped one of them an envelope on his way out to face the cameras. When the startled cosmetics team opened it, they found a bundle of notes to buy a sizeable festive round of drinks. In the church where celebrated novelist Charles Dickens got married 182 years earlier, the football family – including four England managers and five captains - gathered to say farewell to Wilkins. Dickens could string a few sentences together, but he never scored a peach in the top corner at an FA Cup final or won 84 England caps, 10 of them as skipper. The 90-minute memorial service for a legend in deepest Chelsea, the constituency which remained closest to his heart, turned into another treasure trove of anecdotes confirming Wilkins was not only a masterful footballer but a class act off the pitch. If dear old 'Butch' – he hated the nickname, but it stuck – was looking down at the cast of A-listers assembled in his honour, he would surely have uttered one of his catchphrases: “My word.” Current England boss Gareth Southgate, plus predecessors Kevin Keegan, Glenn Hoddle and Roy Hodgson were all on parade. So were Gary Lineker, John Terry, Frank Lampard, Bryan Robson and Terry Butcher, along with venerated England foot soldiers Sir Trevor Brooking, Peter Beardsley, Viv Anderson, Tony Woodcock, Mark Hateley, Peter Reid, Les Ferdinand and Chris Woods. Chelsea's contingent was a three-line whip, with manager Antonio Conte and Blues legends led by Alan Hudson, Gianfranco Zola and John Hollins. Mark Hughes and Joe Jordan, former team-mates at Manchester United, joined the 300-strong congregation for the 3pm kick-off at St Luke's church, where Wilkins' daughter Jade was christened. Frank Stapleton, one of his closest friends at Old Trafford, read a eulogy featuring his recollection of a famous night when United beat Barcleona, including Diego Maradona and Bernd Schuster, 3-0 in the European Cup Winners Cup, overturning a two-goal deficit from the first leg. They celebrated in a city centre restaurant, Wilkins serenading the waiters by singing Lionel Richie's greatest hits – not necessarily with Richie's soulful tones – until they were asked to leave at 6am. Later, Stapleton would be Wilkins's assistant when he was hired to coach the Jordanian national team, although the job interview had its hairy moments. Stapleton said: “We met Crown Prince Ali at a Mayfair hotel, and Ray introduced himself by saying, 'So what do we call you, sir? I've never

I think Serena hated me for being the skinny kid who beat her, against all odds, at Wimbledon.“Not long after the tournament, I heard Serena told a friend – who then told me – ‘I will never lose to that little bitch again’.”Williams, who has won their last 18 matches, admitted she has read the book. There are 100 mentions of her name.“The book was a lot about me,” said the 23-time Grand Slam winner.“I was surprised about that, to be honest. I was, like, ‘Oh, OK. I didn’t expect to be reading a book about me, that wasn’t necessarily true. I didn’t know she looked up to me that much or was so involved in my career.“I think the book was 100 per cent hearsay, at least all the stuff I read and the quotes that I read, which was a little bit disappointing.“But I have cried in the locker room many times after a loss and that’s what I have seen a lot of people do. I think it’s normal. I’m human.“I think what happens there should definitely maybe stay there and not necessarily talk about it in a not-so-positive way in a book. I don’t have any negative feelings towards her.“Especially having a daughter, I feel like negativity is taught.“One of the things I always say, I feel like women especially should bring each other up.”Rarely has a match between the world No.451 and the 28th seed attracted so much interest.“It’s been a while and I think a lot has happened in our liv #SerenaWilliams, #MariaSharapova, #live, #updates, #score, #reaction #FrenchOpenSerenaWilliamsMariaSharapova

Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzURZooob2rF_a_1cONbUIg?sub_confirmation=1 Author and journalist Tom Wolfe has died. Famous for his psychedelic novel Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test the author will be remembered for his literary flair, his agent said today. Lynn Nesbit confirmed the pioneer of journalism died from an infection in a Manhattan hospital on Monday. Mr Wolfe, beginning in the 1960s, helped create the enormously influential hybrid known as the New Journalism. Between 1965 to 1981 he wrote nine nonfiction books, including Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test and Bonfire of the Vanities. The father of two, who had a knack for coining phrases such as "radical chic" and "the me decade," was originally from Virginia and during his early career worked for the Washington Post and New York Herald Tribune. He later wrote a letter to his editors at Esquire magazine about his difficulty approaching a piece on car culture - one, Byron Dobell, simply took the "dear" off the top and published the piece. It later became his first novel, That Kandy-Kolored Tangerine-Flake Streamline Baby. Wolfe went on to write four lengthy novels as well as many short stories, dramatic works, and novellas. The New York Times described the author as being as "well known for his attire as his satire" as he would be a well known sight strolling down Madison Avenue in "spotless three-piece vanilla bespoke suit, pinstriped silk shirt with a starched white high collar, bright handkerchief peeking from his breast pocket, watch on a fob, faux spats and white shoes. Once asked to describe his get-up, Mr. Wolfe replied brightly, “Neo-pretentious.” William F. Buckley, Jr described him as: “He is probably the most skillful writer in America — I mean by that he can do more things with words than anyone else.” Wolfe lived in New York City with his wife Sheila, who designs covers for Harper's Magazine. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzURZooob2rF_a_1cONbUIg?sub_confirmation=1 The second series of dystopian horror story The Handmaid's Tale begins on Channel 4 tonight. But could the fictional Gilead happen in real life? This is the story of one woman who grew up in a community with alarming parallels to Margaret Atwood's fictional world -and how she finally escaped and built a new life. When she was growing up, Lilia Tawara was taught that girls should be quiet and submissive to their husbands. She lived in perpetual fear of breaking the rules, showing an interest in boys, having and straying from the line of arranged marriage within the Gloriavale cult. And even after breaking out of the cult run by her grandfather, who she would later find out was a offender, Lilia admits there are still parts of it she misses. The image she paints of a group, where women were told to respect men, be submissive and wear uniforms is one played out on screen in the Handmaid's Tale and the costumes used in the TV show have been inspired by the reality of Gloriavale. Read More The Handmaid's Tale Season Two: Channel 4 release date, cast, plot and everything else you need to know Life in the Gloriavale cult on New Zealand's South Island was, for Lilia, one of religion and living as part of a large family. All the women wore full-length navy dresses and everyone worked to live, there were no wages. Old-fashioned corporal punishment was also practised at school. Birth control was banned, so families were large and her grandfather had at least 19 children with three different wives. As the 27-year-old writes on her website: "I grew up sharing one bedroom with my family because we lived in hostels shared with the other Gloriavale families, who we called ‘our brothers and sisters in Christ’. Our entire lives centred around God and the church at Gloriavale." Lilia also said young girls were often married off to men a lot older than them, and women and girls were expected to do all domestic chores and be subservient to men. Read More Inside the real-life Handmaid's Tale cult where women are barred from having email, bank accounts and leaving home without permission Gloriavale was created by Lilia's grandfather Neville Cooper, known as Hopeful Christian. He founded the group in 1969, naming it after the grandmother Lilia would never meet - Gloria. Cooper was later jailed for three charges of ual indecent assault against girls between the ages of 12 and 19. He died on May 15 2018 at the age of 92 after a battle with cancer, but outsiders were not allowed to attend his funeral. Instead, those not part of Gloriavale could email in their condolences. Cooper's own grandson, who is not part of the church, refused to attend, while his son Phil Cooper, who left the cult 25 years ago, said while he would like to go to pay his respects, "obviously that's not going to happen". According to a 2015 documentary titled Gloriavale: Life and Death, members of the community don't come into contact with anyone outside their people even w #Woman, #escaped, #real, #Handmaid, #Tale, #cult, #reveals, #truth, #about, #life, #inside #TVNewsMarriageCrimeChristianity

Mum with terminal cancer 'feels like monster' and glad kids won't remember her
Mum with terminal cancer 'feels like monster' and glad kids won't remember her: https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/mum-left-feeling-like-monster-12478204. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos. A mum diagnosed with a rare incurable cancer has released shocking pictures showing how red lumps all over her face made her virtually unrecognisable - and admitted she is glad her young children will not remember her. Kim Debling, 34, has months to live unless she can have a stem cell transplant. She said she has been left feeling like a 'monster' by stage four Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma (CTCL) – a rare type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Kim, a former RAF traffic controller, candidly revealed she does not want her children, Rose, one, and Harvey, six months, to get to know her - to spare them the pain of grieving for her. Kim, of Basingstoke, Hampshire, said, “I know Rose and Harvey won’t remember me, and that’s a good thing. “No Disney character ever became a hero without losing a parent, but in a way, I don’t want the kids to get to know me, so I can save them the terrible loss. But I still want to be the best mum I can ever be, no matter how long I have left.” Desperate to become parents, Kim and her RAF pilot husband Steve, 32, who she met on an air base and married in December 2012, began trying for a baby soon after their wedding day. But after a year and a half with no success, the pair, who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan, were referred for IVF on the NHS. Amazingly, after just one round, Kim fell pregnant in November 2015. With her mind focused on her baby, she thought nothing of it when she noticed a red rash around her waist, only casually mentioning it to her GP during a routine appointment about her pregnancy a few weeks later. She explained: “We could not have been happier to be expecting our first baby. We had waited for so long for it to happen that the red patches were the last thing on my mind. “But when I finally saw the GP I did mention it, as it had spread to the tops of my thighs. Convinced she was just suffering with dermatitis, a type of eczema , she tried not to worry. But in May 2016, when she was 24 weeks pregnant, doctors broke the news that she actually had cancer. She recalled: “When I heard the word ‘lymphoma’ I was completely devastated. “They told me I had a rare type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma that affects the skin, where the symptoms are a raised, rash or itchy patches of skin, lumps on the skin and swollen lymph nodes. “My only saving grace was that it was stage one, meaning it w

Police have launched a murder investigation after the man died close to the University of Es in Southend-on-Sea on Monday evening. He was pronounced dead shortly after paramedics arrived, with eyewitnesses later describing up to four men being involved in the incident. Locals speculated that the man who died could have been a teenage student at the university, Es Live reports. It's also reported 'he lost his life while trying to stop his new car from being stolen' - yet to be confirmed. Read More Sadistic killer who chopped up girlfriend and flushed body parts down toilet jailed for 28 years A large area in the town's Elmer Square was closed to the public, with a police presence remaining at the scene for hours as visitors left flowers outside the cordon. University students and local residents were shocked when they learned a man had died. Matthew Delany, co-owner of Maxwells coffee shop and sandwich bar, said: “There are groups and groups of kids who hang about there all day. "A customer of ours came in and said he knew him - he said a group were trying to nick a new car he had bought and he lost his life over it. “I am not scared of many people but sometimes you walk through there passed them and do think to yourself.” One student, who asked to remain anonymous, added: "I’m really quite surprised. "You never really get anything like this here. I’m from Barking and you expect that sort of thing there but not here." A lecturer, who doesn't work at the university, expressed his shock following the tragic incident in Farringdon Service Road. Alex Rogers, 49, said: "It is quite a shock. "There were CSI guys briefly earlier. I was talking to someone earlier about it and they said it was a young boy. "It could well have been a student." Mr Rogers said he was concerned by violent crime in the area. He added: “There has been quite an uprise in the number of stabbings around here." Robert Benham, 60, who has lived in the area for 10 years, said: “The town is getting like the Wild West. “There is crime every single day. There needs to be much more of a police presence. “Certainly in the last five years with the high street disintegrating and shops moving it has become totally unruly. “Our family do not come down here now. What are the council doing about it? “That’s another life gone.” Investigating officers are asking witnesses or anyone who was in the area between 8pm and 9pm on Monday to contact them. A spokesman for Es Police said: "We are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances around the incident and the whereabouts of the suspects involved. Lewis Hamilton hits out at Formula 1 on eve of new season
Lewis Hamilton has taken aim at Formula One after he accused the sport of lacking diversity ahead of the opening race of the new season. Hamilton, the 33-year-old British driver, had appeared alongside his rival Sebastian Vettel at the sport's official press conference to answer questions on his championship defence. But moments after he left the press conference room at Albert Park in Melbourne, Hamilton posted a video to his Instagram account in which he suggested F1 should do more to encourage participation from a wider range of ethnic backgrounds. Four-time champion Hamilton is the sport's first and only black driver and has six million followers on Instagram. Hamilton recorded the 15-second video from his Mercedes team's hospitality suite of a number of people in the paddock, and accompanied the clip with the words: "There's barely any diversity in F1. "Still nothing's changed in 11 years I've been here. "Kids, people, there's so many jobs in this sport of which anybody, no matter your ethnicity or background, can make it and fit in." He ended the post with two hashtags, 'diversity', and 'you can do it'. Formula One elected not to comment on Hamilton's remarks when contacted. It is not Hamilton's first run-in with the sport over race issues. Back in 2011, Hamilton said: "Maybe it's because I'm black. That's what Ali G says", after he was penalised by stewards at the Monaco Grand Prix. Hamilton is this year bidding to become only the third driver in F1 history to win the championship more than four times. The Stevenage-born racer delivered some of the best displays of his career last term after beating Vettel to the championship with two rounds to spare. And he fired an ominous warning to his rivals on the eve of the new campaign by vowing to take his performances to even greater heights this season. "I plan to go to another level and that is what I have been working towards," Hamilton said. "I hope I haven't reached my peak. "I am sure there is a peak for a driver's fitness levels and when your interest starts to decline your drive starts to decline. "I guess that's when you're over your peak, but I definitely don't feel I'm at that stage. I'm in a good range right now and I need to continue to extract the most I can from it." Hamilton also made room to take a swipe at his long-term rival Nico Rosberg, who earlier this week claimed that his former team-mate's greatest weakness was inconsistency. "There are a lot of people that need to get headlines and I think I proved that wasn't the case last year," Hamilton added. "My consistency was the reason why I won the world championship." Hamilton, who was flanked on the press conference stage by Vettel and Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo, is the favourite to win his fifth championship - and his fourth from the last five years - with Mercedes expected to continue their dominance of the sport. "Mercedes is right and Lewis is right to be the favourite this year," Vettel added. "We have reasons

Inside Colt 'incest clan' of inbred and deformed kids as family appears in court
Six members of an infamous family accused of revolting crimes including four generations of incest on a squalid farm have appeared in court. Not one defendant in the group applied for bail as they appeared in front of a judge this afternoon, 24 hours after they were arrested across three remote states in Australia. Around 38 members of the Colt family were found by police living in tents and shacks on a southern New South Wales farm, in Australia, in 2012. Twelve children had facial deformities, speech difficulties and horrific hygiene. They were illiterate, severely malnourished and slept next to buckets of faeces and urine. And all but one were inbred. Read More Police discover brother and sister incest horror after she gives birth to baby with 'severe medical problems' The horrific discovery was described at the time as the worst case of incest uncovered in Australia and sparked the establishment of Strike Force Hermoyne, an investigation into serious allegations of incest, child ual assault and neglect on the family's farm. According to local reports: "Eleven of the children in the camp were the product of a ual relationship by their mothers with either a brother, father or other close male relative." Complex investigations including DNA testing, legal issues and the seriousness of the allegations meant it took six years until any charges were brought, according to detectives. Eight individuals, aged between 29 and 50, were arrested this week after a series of police raids across the country. Only six appeared in court today. The Colt family, dubbed by media in 2012 as the 'Colt incest clan', is alleged to have engaged in four generations of incest beginning with a brother and sister who emigrated from New Zealand in the 1970s. The family grew to nearly 40 members ranging from grandparents to mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, aunts, uncles, nephews, brothers and sisters all engaging in various forms of incest. Many of the children suffered from deformities and medical problems. The case has been described by lead investigator Peter Yeomans as "like nothing I've ever seen" and was considered by many to be so shocking that in a rare move the New South Wales Children's Court allowed full details to be made public, albeit with all names changed to pseudonyms for the children's protection, including the family name of "Colt". They all lived on a farm near Boorowa, New South Wales, according to law case notes. The family was led by a matriarch known as Betty Colt along with her brother Charlie who, together, had 12 children. It was known to frequently relocate before locals became suspicious. Knowledge of the family came to authorities in June 2010, which led to seven "risk of significant harm reports" being reported. But an official investigation was not opened until July 2012 when a child reported overhearing another child at a local primary school speaking of an unkempt girl, living in the woods, who was pregnant with

Fans think they know what Pep Guardiola said to Paul Pogba
Moments after the referee called time on the Manchester derby, Pep Guardiola was seen speaking with Paul Pogba. And well, it wasn't long before fans began speculating as to what the duo were talking about, especially considering the recent news involving them. Prior to Manchester United's win over Manchester City, which Pogba ensured with two second half goals and perhaps the performance of his career for the Red Devils, Guardiola dropped the bombshell that the Frenchman's agent Mino Raiola offered him as a potential signing in January. "I don't understand why I am such a bad guy," said Guardiola in his press conference. But being this guy, two months ago he offered me [Henrikh] Mkhitaryan and Pogba to play with us. Why? "Why did he offer them? He was interested in Mkhitaryan and Pogba playing with us. Pogba is an incredible player. A top, top player.I said no. We don't have the money enough to buy Pogba because he is so expensive." Jose Mourinho responded to his comments on Sky Sports, saying: "Guardiola says that, the agent denies that. One of them is saying the truth and one of them isn't. "I am not interested in which is the liar and which is the honest guy." The Portuguese later praised the Frenchman, after his side's derby win, and again referenced the incident. "I wasn't asking Paul to improve because I was happy with what he was doing in the first half, then he scored two great goals," he said. "If his agent was offering him to some clubs, the price has now gone up a lot." Pogba had a quick chat with the Manchester City boss immediately after Saturday's fixture, and it's not known what was actually said. But it seems some Citizens fans have a good idea. poll loading Will Manchester United win the Premier League title next season? 7000+ VOTES SO FAR YES NO

7 things we spotted from Liverpool's pre-Champions League final camp in Marbella
7 things we spotted from Liverpool's pre-Champions League final camp in Marbella: https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/7-things-spotted-liverpool-begin-12547849. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzURZooob2rF_a_1cONbUIg?sub_confirmation=1 The only way to prepare for a Champions League final is Marbs, apparently. At least that seems to be the case for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool . The German has whisked his squad away to southern Spain for a warm weather training camp at a time when it actually pretty warm on Merseyside in all honesty, but the weather is only one aspect of Klopp's reasoning for the move. Klopp and his squad arrived in Marbella on Wednesday afternoon, and they didn't waste any time before getting on the bikes and out on the training pitch as the manager put them through their paces. Here's what we spotted from day one in the sun. 1. A spot of trophy lifting practice, Dejan? Now the European Cup weighs a not inconsiderable 11kg, and so it might pay to prepare yourself for lifting it should the opportunity arise. That seemed to be exactly what Dejan Lovren was doing in Marbella anyway, as the defender hoisted a training aid to the skies and no doubt imagined what it would feel like to hold that trophy aloft and into the Kiev night. Actualise, Dejan. Actualise. 2. Virgil van Dijk on a bike... but without a helmet Now Virgil van Dijk isn't scared of anything, his five months at Liverpool have proven that. And it seems as though we can now add bike safety to a list of things that don't frighten the Dutchman, as he was seen leading the squad on a bike tour of the local area without a helmet on. Now the very cool Van Dijk is a man to be admired and emulated in pretty much every facet of his life, but we can't have this one. Safety first, Virgil. You've got a big game soon. 3. Trent's all smiles Last weekend you helped your boyhood team achieve qualification for next season's Champions League. A couple of weeks ago you were in that team as you got into this season's final. This morning you woke up and made your way to the airport to head to Marbella. And then in the afternoon you got named in the England squad for the World Cup. You'd be smiling too, wouldn't you? 4. Milner steps it up in the sun Having been ruled out of Liverpool's final Premier League game of the season at home to Brighton, there were a few concerns about James Milner's fitness looking ahead to the Champions League final, but he looked in good nick on day one in Marbella. “James is in the group and will be back in training later," Klopp told the Liverpool website . "I think on Saturday or so we will see, or maybe Friday." Seems positive to us. 5. Golden sunshine for the Golden Boot winner Mo Salah looked in fine spirits in Marbella because, well, he's Mo Salah isn't he? Fresh from a weekend of picking up yet more personal awards, the Egyptian stands on the brink of lifting the one team accolade that he'll be truly remembered for at Anfield. If he can win the final for them in Kiev, it would surely beat all the personal gongs he could ever pick up. He might even get some of them named after him. 6. What's so funny, Alberto? Much has been made of the shortcomings of Liverpool's squad despit #things, #spotted, #from, #Liverpool, #ChampionsLeague, #final, #camp, #Marbella #LiverpoolFCUEFAChampionsLeagueFinalDejanLovrenMohamedSalahJurgenKlopp

Jerry Springer producer 'murdered deaf sister and staged suicide as cover-up'
A television producer who worked on the Jerry Springer show has been arrested on suspicion of murdering her disabled sister. Jill Blackstone is accused of drugging sister Wendy, who was deaf and partially blind, before torching their garage and leaving a suicide note in a cover-up, police said. The victim, 49, and two of her dogs in the blaze in North Hollywood more than three years ago, the Los Angeles Police Department said on Thursday.
