How To Load A Barbell For Deadlifts The Easy Way

02:49
So after seeing some people struggle with loading a barbell when it gets to 3PPS+ I figured I would show you all the ways I have been doing it since day one. If you don't have a barbell trolley / jack then this is just as easy. There's two methods I have used: 1. Load the bar up on rack hooks / pins first. Some people don't like this method because you are doing half a rep to get it up and half a rep to get it back down. Me, I'm not really fussed. The bar is free in the ends so plates are loaded up easily. One downside to this is I have seen people not being able to "rack pull" the weight once they have loaded it up - these tend to be people with strong leg drive. So... 2. This method is probably the closest to using a trolley / bar jack. Simply sit a small plate down next to the inside plates, roll it on to the centre of the plate and it should just sit there, steady. Now you are free to add or remove plates easily. Roll off when ready to lift. Simple. With either of these methods you shouldn't have any issues with loading a barbell on your own any more! Intermittent Fasting First Meal Example | Diet and Nutrition

02:26
Now then everybody just a very quick video to answer a few peoples requests to see what kind of food I eat as my first meal of the day. This is just one of the meals I have to break my fast as part of my Intermittent Fasting bulking run. When doing Lean Gains / Intermittent Fasting you should have a high protein / fat meal for you first meal and try to keep carbs for later or after your workout. I take in around 300-400g of Carbs a day when bulking so for me this meal provides a small amount of my daily intake. 100g of Oats 20g of Flaked Pecans 15g of Pecans 2 Scoops of Whey Protein Powder (currently using Vantage Whey) 300ml of Coconut Milk / Water (NOT THE STUFF YOU GET IN CANS) All in all macros and calories for this are: 830kcal 65g Protein 66g Carbs 32g Fat Hope this helps people who are looking for ideas, I know that oats and protein shake is a staple for many but try adding things in there to mix things up and remember that nuts are a great source of many different minerals as well as fat. Home Gym Buyers Guide: Choosing a Barbell

07:37
In this part of the Home Gym Buyers Guide series I go through a few key points to look at and consider when buying a barbell for your own home gym. I highly recommend the Texas Power Bar which can be bought from here on 0% finance: http://www.savagestrength.co.uk/gym-equipment/bars/olympic-bars/texas-power-bar-1.html If you are after a pretty cheap and quality barbell then strength shop do one that is 28mm, sharp knurled but has a 700lb rating (not that it really matters to mere mortals like us)... it also has end caps. I have no experience of the bar myself but if it wasn't for the fact I had my heart set on a TPB since I laid eyes on one... I would have probably gone for this bar: https://www.strengthshop.co.uk/bars/olympic-bar.html I can highly recommend the following sites for purchasing equipment for your home gym: https://www.strengthshop.co.uk/ http://www.powerhouse-fitness.co.uk/ http://www.savagestrength.co.uk Thanks for watching! --- FAQ's and Discount Codes --- I'm 5'8" - Certified Manlet Forged Iron Training Clothing - use DANTHEMAN5 for 5% off your order: www.forgedirontraining.com I get my Sports Supplements from these sites: - Vitacost ($10 off first purchase over $30): https://www.vitacostrewards.com/hzloGaA - Bulk Powders (£5 off first purchase over £15): DF26792 - Vantage Sports Nutrition (Their Coconut PROWhey is awesome): http://www.vantagesn.com/products/prowhey My favourite colour is Blue. --- Social Links --- Subscribe! http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=lllDBOlll Website: http://www.homephysique.com Facebook: http://facebook.com/homephysiqueuk Twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/homephysique MyFitnessPal: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/lllDBOlll Music: Intro Theme: http://www.looperman.com/loops/detail/55614 Outro Theme: http://www.youtube.com/user/starlinginspector Contact: danny@homephysique.com ------- ABOUT HOME PHYSIQUE ------- Home Physique is an ongoing project started by me to show my transformation from a chubby couch potato into a competing Natural Amatuer Bodybuilder / Powerlifter. Bodymax CF475 Heavy Power Rack Review

08:45
This is a walk through review of my Bodymax CF475 Heavy Power Rack which I have owned for nearly two years now. I bought the rack on sale from Powerhouse Fitness for £400 but it is now £499... however if you only want the rack and not the pulley system it is only around £350 but me personally I think the pulley system is well worth the extra coin: http://www.powerhouse-fitness.co.uk/bodymax-cf475-heavy-power-rack-with-latlow-pulley.php Overall this is a solid rack that is rated to 800lbs... if you can squat 800lbs... this might not be the rack for you... Would I buy it again if given the chance? Definitely. Any questions not answered in the video please don't hesitate to ask. - The Frame is 60mm x 60mm x 2mm Box Section Thanks for watching! --- FAQ's --- I'm 5'8" - Certified Manlet I get my Sports Supplements from these sites: - Vitacost ($10 off first purchase over $30): https://www.vitacostrewards.com/hzloGaA - Bulk Powders (£5 off first purchase over £15): DF26792 - Vantage Sports Nutrition (Their Coconut PROWhey is awesome): http://www.vantagesn.com/products/prowhey My favourite colour is Blue. --- Social Links --- Subscribe! http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=lllDBOlll Website: http://www.homephysique.com Facebook: http://facebook.com/homephysiqueuk Twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/homephysique MyFitnessPal: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/lllDBOlll Music: Intro Theme: http://www.looperman.com/loops/detail/55614 Outro Theme: http://www.youtube.com/user/starlinginspector Contact: danny@homephysique.com ------- ABOUT HOME PHYSIQUE ------- Home Physique is an ongoing project started by me to show my transformation from a chubby couch potato into a competing Natural Amatuer Bodybuilder / Powerlifter. Make your own Fat Gripz

03:30
In this video I show you how to make your own cheap and effective Fat Gripz alternatives. It's no secret that training with a thicker bar increases forearm muscle size and rapidly improves grip strength. For many it's not viable to own a thick bar and so you can see how FatGripz have become so popular as a versatile way of achieving the same effects. However, they are quite expensive! There are many methods for increasing bar thickness: wrapping cloth, towels etc around it provides substantial thickness but it can often be uneven, wrapping with several rolls of tape will increase thickness but this tends to be a semi permanent implement. What I do is take a piece of domestic pipe lagging and cut two pieces just more than my palms width in length. They come pre split so all you have to do is pull them apart and there you go, the slip over the bar and provide you with an easy and cheap alternative to FatGrips. Over time they will compress and you will lose some thickness but all you have to do is cut up another pair and away you go again... at a fraction of the cost. Thanks for watching! What Can You Do With PB2 ( Powdered Peanut Butter )

03:06
So this is my second bag of Bell Plantain's PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter with Chocolate. I went for the chocolate flavor because I am a sucker for Snickers. My mate Endomorphbeast put me onto this, I had never heard of it before seeing his video about his new found love for it. Go show my mate some love by supporting his channel... he has AWESOME recipes to try featuring his "Pimp My Rice" series. Endo: http://www.youtube.com/endomorphbeast Anyway. I love this stuff and wish I had known about it when doing my cut as for the amount of calories in it you get a lot of peanut butter (when made up as intended). It's got a very strong peanut taste which is what you want... it tastes very natural. It's very versatile too and can be used in many different recipes. I have a few here in this video that are simple but shall be doing more videos incorporating PB2 in the future. Deadlift and OHP Mash Up Wendler 531 C113 W19 Cut RD2

03:03
The finale session of Cycle 11 for Wendler 5/3/1 and it was a bit of a mash up of both OHP and Deadlift days. I just aimed for the main sets for the two lifts and did some extra OHP work. This was mainly to "catch up" due to my training pattern being all skew wiff after going to the Body Power Expo. OHP of 75kg x 2 was more than pleased with this. Almost at a 1x BW for OHP which has been one of my "mini goals" so should have it soon! Deadlifts - after speaking a while back with my friend Michael, I made the decision to drop out the plywood base I stand on because the plates that I have are 400mm diameter whilst proper plates are 450mm. This equates for a 25mm / inch deficit ever since I have been training at home... lol I switched the board so now even though still at a very slight deficit it is closer to the right height if I was using competition plates. UK Powerlifting Inzer Belt Alternative

04:01
A question was asked by YouTuber anonymous10R in respect to finding an alternative to the almighty powerlifting belt that is... the Inzer Belt. "What's up? Subscriber from the UK and I'm thinking of investing in a decent belt. The shipping for an Inzer to the UK is ridiculous so I'm wondering what belt you use and roughly how much you paid." I got my belt back in 2012 as a Christmas prezzy from my much better half. So technically... I paid fuck all for it. For you though, it may cost you £69.99 + delivery. Strength Shop 13mm Lever Belt: https://www.strengthshop.co.uk/powerlifting-belts/strengthshop-13mm-lever-belt.html The RDX alternative I spotted (Note this is the 10mm one): http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RDX-Weight-Power-Lifting-Leather-Lever-Pro-Belt-Gym-Training-Powerlifting-Straps-/190751774296?pt=UK_Strength_Training&var=&hash=item2c69b11658 I have had a great time with this belt so far. It's a really solid and reliable bit of kit and yeah, I would recommend it. Having had a good look at an Inzer belt when I was in the states all I can say is those letters on it don't half bump the price up. This belt does the job well enough to not need to rape yourself on shipping one from the states. ...but if you realllllllly wanted an Inzer... well... you just get one don't you! The 3K Big Three Challenge Subscriber Competition

02:40
OK! So as mentioned a bit back, I am running a little "friendly" competition for everyone that has subscribed, followed and supported me since starting the channel and helped it grow to the 3000 sub count it's at today. As I am a big fan of powerlifting, it makes sense to do a powerlifting competition! The was it will be kept fair for all will be through the use of the Wilks score, a calculator that takes into account body weight and weight lifted to give you a score. Check it here to see what you total is currently: http://wilkscalculator.com/ THE RULES!! 1. Must show bodyweight (so step on the scales) 2. Must show weights of plates (if you are using bumpers etc) 3. Squat is parallel or less, no half reps dudes! 4. Deadlift is RAW.. so no straps. Belt is fine. 5. All lifts are touch and go, no need for pauses. 6. Submit your total as a video response to THIS VIDEO!! Winner(s) will be announced on June 21st and prize(s) will more than likely be along the lines of an online voucher, so that I can make this open to all across the globe. PLEASE SHARE TO MAKE THIS MORE COMPETITIVE! REMEMBER... IT'S JUST FUN! DON'T TAKE IT TOO SERIOUSLY! Training and Doing 12 Hours of Work Is Killing Me | Bodybuilding Q&A

04:12
YouTuber warriorrob1 asked this question the other day: "Hey dan how do go on with training an work. Iv just had promotion at work means Im doin near 12 hour days an trainning at 5/6am fucking kills me. It is something iv just started but is there anything that can help" Basically me ole mucker is having a hard time working his 12 hour shifts AND fitting in training in the early hours of the day. As a person who has done both 12 hours and very early training in my time, here's what I had to suggest to him. - Use gym time efficiently. Full body compound lift splits. - Try supplementing with Caffeine and Tyrosine for an energy boost / wake up call. - Train in the evening if possible if it is too much to train early. - In time you will get used to it. PES Alphamine Weight Loss Fat Burner FINAL Review

07:16
Ok so here is the conclusion to my run of PES Alphamine, a potent fat loss support supplement that claims to help retain lean mass and targets trouble areas in terms of fat loss. To learn more about the product, check out my original video which you can find here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvMz4GtXRMs The Verdict: I love PES Alphamine. So much so that I bought a second tub. I feel it has really helped to mobilize the fat in my lower back, chest and abdomen, areas which last year I had a hard time with. I didn't feel much in terms of Energy from the product, nor did I feel an appetite suppression benefit (one thing I always look for in a fat burner). However, I am happy to forego these benefits for the way that my hips and waist have shrunk whilst my weight has pretty much stayed the same! Both flavours of Alphamine are nice, the raspberry lemonade is nicer than the fruit punch IMO. They mix instantly and leave little to no residue. I bought both of my tubs of PES Alphamine from Vitacost.com which you can use my referral link to sign up and receive $10 off your first $30 order, by using this link here: https://www.vitacostrewards.com/hzloGaA (please be aware that although not always, you may have to pay import fees / taxes if buying in the UK... it has only happened to me twice). Also, be aware that the European / UK version of this product contains no Yohimbe, the ingredient which makes it so effective. The US version (the one that I have) does include this ingredient. REMEMBER.... this is NOT a miracle powder, nor is any other fat burner. After my first successful run of Brandon Lilly's Cube Method following the 365 Strong pattern, people have been asking me what I think to it so far, how it compares with Wendlers 5/3/1 and of course am I going to continue with it. This is a video answer to Jolli86 who asks: "Guy's sorry to hog the comments section on here - I tried to send a PM to Dan but it wouldn't let me. Basically I have been training to lose weight for the past 7 months, lost about 30 lb's. Only recently started to do resistance training (last few weeks) do you think it would be too early to start something like the wendler 5/3/1 ie. is it for more experienced, or could someone new get stuck into?? Thanks for any advice - and well done on the partnership Dan. Keep up the great vids." Basically he wants to know whether or not to start Wendler 5/3/1. I hope this video helps! Beasting The Back | 531 C11.2 Pendlay Rows W18 Cut

03:12
So this was the Pull / Push day session for Week 2 of Cycle 11 on 531. I only just realised whilst editing the video that I had trained three days in a row... more importantly had only left a day between benching... no wonder I was aching! Pendlays felt good up until the 120kg set, was a little heavy and reduced my explosiveness, needed lower back / leg involvement. Will assess next cycle. Bent Over Rows again, aiming for stricter sets, it's more of a Yates row as I feel it better in my lats when I do them. Body English on the 140kg set but I feel good for moving it... 19 reps on the 100kg rep out, beating last week by 4 reps. Paused Bench... only did the two working sets, not recovered from Monday. Finished with seated cable row, really nice exercise. Getting Big Legs | Wendler 5/3/1 Squat C5.1

03:13
First Squat day of Cycle 5 of Wendler 5/3/1 and it was a bit of a late one. This has to be me worst scenario for squats... later at night and after a big meal!! Funnily enough it turned out ok! 5+ Set I was squatting 130kg and I managed 9 reps... 9 reps?? WTF where did 9 reps come from? Before my deload I struggled to get 127.5kg x 6 reps... this just felt easy! I would say that is the power of a deload... time to build, repair and make new pathways. Assistance work was Boring But Big squats and I only just realised I should have been doing 90kg here... but no worries will just have to make up for it next time! Followed up with some calf raises as I feel I have been neglecting my calves and finished off with some Leg Curls. All in all, a good session. Thanks for watching! Barn Door Back Workout | Wendler 5/3/1 Deadlift Upper Back BBB Squats C6.1

05:19
Final session of Week 1 of Cycle 6, Wendler 5/3/1. Today was 5+ for Deadlifts with some Squats and Upper Back work thrown in too. Time to build a back that's wider than a barn door! Deadlifts I managed to pull 165kg x 9 reps which is the same reps as last time but with 5kg more... progress. On to Boring But Big Squats; 80kg x 10 at first then 3 sets of 105kg x 10... didn't fancy doing any more high reps so went on a PR hunt to see what the new belt felt like. Did a 140kg x 1 and then went on to 160kg where I managed to go down and come up, just an inch over my usual depth... good enough for me. Upper back work. Started off doing Barbell Pull Ups... this has no overhead restrictions and allowed me to pull equally on both sides - Nice! Trap bar rows, Seated Cable rows, Dumbbell Rows and finishing with Dumbbell Bicep Curls... the assistance work was pretty legit. Thanks for watching, Bench is up next! OHP and Deadlift Highlights | Cycle 13.1 531

03:19
Ok so highlights from 531 Cycle 13 Week 1 with OHP and Deadlift days. Good results on the plus sets for both deadlift and ohp, got 62.5kg x 9 on OHP and 157.5kg x 10 on Deads. That 10% reset seems to be legit! Bar height for deadlifts is now standard, as the plates are 400mm. I did have a piece of ply under each but they was still low, stuck another piece under and now the center of the bar is 225mm to the floor. Felt much nicer. Lower back felt fine whilst deadlifting it was the squats that flared me up again.. so I had to investigate with a side view. Switching back to flat shoes I seemed to have adopted a few methods from high bar and low bar form = disaster. I am using a high bar placement but with an excessive forward lean and excessive sit back... this is causing butt wink and resulting in lower back pain. Whoops. Well at least now I know I can not do it again!! These things happen. As always, full session info is on fitocracy or my bodybuilding.com log. Disregard Ego, Acquire Better Squat Form

04:19
Ok so fellow YouTuber and absolute TANK mitchelltom32 suggested I make this video... he had being checking out my older videos from back when I started and said it would be a good idea to show how I have developed my form. His channel: http://www.youtube.com/mitchelltom32 So it goes like this... back when I started out lifting I did what many others do... half rep squats. In my head I was as deep as they come, I was squatting hella deep... any deeper and I'd be leaving craters in the floor... just not true. I started uploading videos to here to show on my bodybuilding.com thread for form critique... it was not long before people started telling me I was way above parallel and had a lot of work to do. So, as much as I didn't like it, I dropped the weight down a little and started working towards parallel. In time I achieved this... but there was still problems. I had bad foot placement, incorrect knee travel... knee cave... all sorts of things that to a lot of people, as soon as they see the parallel depth, in their head, it's a good squat but there is more to it than just going to parallel... So earlier this year I decided screw it. I need to sort this out. I dropped back down to 60kg and started working on correcting my issues. Collectively we found I had a lot of mobility work to do especially in my ankles and hips and also tight muscles. The stretching and foam rolling took care of those. I also had an issue where my adductor was weak out of the hole.. causing my leg to travel across as the quads take over doing it's job for it. Box squats helped a crazy amount. My glutes and adductors have developed SO much from doing paused box squats... and there has been carry over to my deadlift too! I started adding the weight steadily each week, making sure on my back squats I was going all the way down, ass to grass, hams to calves... whatever you wanna call it I decided now was the time to go deep properly. At first I was worried that because I was cutting I would not be able to build up and that I would lose strength from lifting lighter... this was not the case. So rest assured... you have nothing to lose, just a better squat to gain. This did not take long at all to fix. Lower the weight, work on your form, get it right, then progress. Remember EVERYONE respects a full ROM squat regardless of weight on the bar.... NO ONE respects a quarter rep squat no matter how heavy. Thanks for watching! Building Boulder Shoulders! | Wendler 5/3/1 Overhead Press C4.2

04:58
Early morning Wendler 5/3/1 session and today was Overhead Press day. The cold weather is not doing my joints much good... For the 3+ Set I hit up 60kg x 7 reps, which is 1 more rep than I got on last cycles 1+ set at 60kg. After this... I don't know what came over me but I decided to try and Press 80kg x 1... I failed.. lol. Unfortunately, I really hurt my injured wrist in doing so... idiot. On to assistance work. Upped the weight on Dumbbell Seated Press to 35kg Dumbbells.. this is a bit heavy. I used to hit 6 reps max on this so getting 8 was great. I have bought some fraction plates which I think will help bridge the gap from 32.5 -35kg a little more sensibly. Heavy laterals was out of the question, so just did the bars. Hit my goal of 20 x 4 on BW parallel dips so all good there. Cable rear lateral raises and some Plate Shrugs and Raises to finish. Other than furthering my wrist injury this was a good session. Over 14 hours on and it's still a very dull to sharp pain... will never learn. Thanks for watching, Squats up next! I Hate Squats and they Hate Me Too | 5/3/1 C12.3 RD5

03:16
So the final session for Squats with Cycle 12 of 531. I hate squats. I think my new squat goal is going to be more so to not let the bar make me it's bitch because that is what it is doing right now. I won't lie. Squats turn me into a quivering, jibbering little girl. I don't enjoy them and I lack serious confidence under the bar. I need to MAN up and make that bar MY bitch... It was knee cave city. Maybe from fatigue? I have done a lot of squats and deads this cycle... so could be. I also felt after watching it back that I have forgotten a lot of the basic cues for squatting.. so I went and watch Dave Tate's SYTYCS series (I recommend it)... now I want to squat again but I have DOMS of peace. Max set was 142.5kg x 2 which was sloppy. Depth is never an issue but keeping my knee in check is. More squats to follow, much of the same. Finished with Deadlifts, they are feeling more and more natural to me each session, I feel the increased frequency has definitely improved the movement. They was hard though, I felt pretty shattered. Home Gym Good and Bad Points | Pros and Cons of Working out at Home

13:47
In this video it's all about about a Home Gym vs a Commercial Gym and I go into detail regarding what I think the good and bad points are to training in a Home Gym as opposed to a Commercial Gym. I talk about the Pros and Cons of both based on my experiences throughout my transformation from fat to fit. It's quite a long video so I do apologise but those that are interested may find it of some use to them if they are thinking about setting up a home gym. In a nutshell - Pros: • It's your gym. You're in charge. You make the rules. • There are no membership fees, travel fees, parking fees. • You don't have to wait for any of the equipment and you don't have to train in other peoples sweat. • You can listen to whatever type of music you like at whatever volume (within reason). • Chalk is permitted... but we will get to the downside of this. • You can wear what you like - train bollocko if you want to. • No need to pack a gym bag - supplements, accessories etc you have it all to hand. • There's no distractions (although this goes both ways) in the sense of people coming up to you and asking for tips, spotting, idle chatter etc Cons: • You are on your own. There is no one to spot you or help push you. You need to be very self motivated. UNLESS of course you have a friend round to train at yours then this is invalid. • The initial cost is expensive. It can be done cheaply if all bought second hand. In my set up video I said it cost me about £1700. This is quite cheap for all new. • You have to look after it. You come to the gym every morning and it's been freshly washed, floors cleaned, weights put away - YOU HAVE TO DO IT. YOU ARE CONSUELA THE CLEANER FROM FAMILY GUY. • Space is usually limited. Getting extra equipment in requires thoughtful space planning. • It gets lonely on your own. Humans are social creatures. No matter what anyone says "I go to the gym to train blah blah I am in the zone, I'm f*cking macho and hardcore"... You train in a 10 x 20 ft box and see how long you stay hardcore for... I do miss being around people. I don't miss the smells and the bro science but I do miss the environment. You can mix it up though and go to "pay as you go" gyms to break it up a bit. Training / Working Out at Home is not for everyone. Some people (me) really enjoy it and find that they have great progress at times even better than they ever had whilst at a commercial gym. Others I have spoken with have said they do not enjoy training at home as much as they enjoy being at a commercial gym. Horses for courses. Swings and Roundabouts. They both have their purposes and their good and bad points, if you are considering looking into setting up a Home Gym, my advice is go for it, as you will not know if it's for you or not otherwise. Build a Gigantic Back and Arms! | Wendler 5/3/1 Deadlift C4.3

04:23
Ok so it's the finale of Cycle 4 for Wendler 5/3/1 and today was the Deadlift / Upper Back and Biceps session. Loaded up on Driven Sports Craze I was ready to go kill it... For the 1+ Set for this Cycle I managed to hit 180kg x 2 reps. This is a new Raw PR for me. I felt that going for another rep would of stressed me too much so I gave it a miss. Immediately after I fancied my chances at 190kg but couldn't get it past a couple inches. Followed up with Boring But Big Squats, moved up 5kg to 90kg x 10 now. These feel like they are really making an impact to my legs already... good things! For Upper Back assistance, started with Overhand Pull Ups followed by Yate's Rows, Seated Cable Close Rows, Lat Pull Downs and finishing with a few sets of Dumbbell Hammer Curls for the Biceps. Felt like a pretty good session, the deadlifts took quite a lot out of my hamstrings so I was finding stability with the Yates rows quite difficult but managed to do what I could. End of another great Cycle. Definitely feel like I am making good progress with this program and looking forward to starting Cycle 5 after my deload week. I am also planning to run another Bench Specific program alongside 5/3/1 on starting Cycle 5 but will talk more about that another day. Thanks for watching and all the support these past 4 cycles! The ONLY Cardio I Actually Enjoy

03:05
I bought a maize bag a few weeks ago made by RDX which is a kind of "premium" budget equipment manufacturer here in the UK. I've had a lot of their gear, some of it is good, some of it is a bit shite but fortunately, this bag is pretty good. It has a rotating chain coupling which if you've ever used a bag before you will know it's a pain in the ass when chains spin and tangle. Downside to this bag is it isn't filled with maize, it's filled with bags of gravel (for weight) and fabric strips. It's good enough to punch but takes it's toll on your hands very quickly if you use it every day. I'm using it about 3-4 times a week. When I first got it I started with 8 x 2 Minute rounds with 1 minute rest, then moved up to 10. Now I am back doing 12 x 3 Minute rounds with little problem. As CV improves, I will up the work rate rather than add more rounds, mainly as the rounds go on you can feel your joints getting destroyed by the gravel... and I'm using both gel inner gloves, 3 metre wraps and 16oz gloves. Hitting the Chest Got No Time to Rest | Wendler 5/3/1 Macenko Bench C7.1

03:43
Yesterday the Cycle 7 of Wendler 5/3/1 began... as well as the cut did earlier in the week! So for the first week of 5/3/1 Cycle 7 I am still doing the two Macenko Bench days, next week I will have finished and will go back to normal 5/3/1 layout. Did some band assisted work again after the macenko stuff... damn, was much harder after a full session! A few assistance exercises followed, Incline Dumbbell and Flat Dumbbell with some body weight dips afterwards. When I am back on the normal layout I imagine I'll be able to do better on the assistance work. Next up is Squats... can't wait! Legs are dying to do something! Thanks for watching. 5/3/1 Squats Boring But Big with Deadlift Singles C13.3

02:05
Just keeping it simple again this was Cycle 13 Week 3 for 5/3/1 and it was my squat day. I need to up my foam rolling as I have noticed that my adductors (mainly my left) are VERY tight, my hams are better than last deadlift session but they are in need of some TLC too. Overall I was happy with the squatting, I lost my nerve a bit on the forth rep of 130kg and went a bit loose which resulted in my knee coming in, was able to correct it though and get another rep. With a pair of balls and a clear head I reckon I could have kept going for another 2. I've chosen to do boring but big sets for the near future based of how I responded to them last year. They are tough for sure. I stuck with 100kg as I felt last week the reps weren't the best. Felt much better this week. Got my tits and belly out for a few singles on deadlifts. Wanted to see what I could do overhand. 140kg, 150kg, 160kg and 170kg (a new overhand PR) felt pretty fine. Tried a 180kg after couldn't even break the floor as I was shattered haha Thanks for watching! --- FAQ's --- I'm 5'8" - Certified Manlet I get my Sports Supplements from these sites: - Vitacost ($10 off first purchase over $30): https://www.vitacostrewards.com/hzloGaA - Bulk Powders (£5 off first purchase over £15): DF26792 - Vantage Sports Nutrition (Their Coconut PROWhey is awesome): http://www.vantagesn.com/products/prowhey My favourite colour is Blue. --- Social Links --- Subscribe! http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=lllDBOlll Website: http://www.homephysique.com Facebook: http://facebook.com/homephysiqueuk Twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/homephysique MyFitnessPal: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/lllDBOlll Music: Intro Theme: http://www.looperman.com/loops/detail/55614 Outro Theme: http://www.youtube.com/user/starlinginspector Contact: danny@homephysique.com ------- ABOUT HOME PHYSIQUE ------- Home Physique is an ongoing project started by me to show my transformation from a chubby couch potato into a competing Natural Amatuer Bodybuilder / Powerlifter. PES Alphamine | Thermogenic Fat Burner Supplement Review First Thoughts

05:36
Ok so the last fat burner I ran for a review was iForce Dexaprine which was one hell of a powerhouse when it came to suppressing appetite, it was pretty dame stim heavy though and had me quite jittery at times... probably due to the huge dose of 1 3-dimethylamylamine it had in it! You can see that review here... be warned it's very old and shitty quality: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GosLfTZuqrs This product is one that was recommended to me by a top Polish chap called Lukasz Rytkowski who said it was very potent... well in this review I plan to find out! First Off. I bought it from here: http://www.vitacost.com/pes-alphamine-fruit-punch Here is the Official Alphamine info site: http://pescience.com/alphamine.html/ I must stress that you DO NOT need to use fat burners for weight loss and you certainly should not start using them BEFORE you know how to lose weight / fat through calorie control and diet. They are a SUPPLEMENT to a successful diet NOT a replacement as many people think they are.... and there are NO MIRACLE PILLS OR POWDERS. Alphamine is a little different to most fat burners. Instead of coming as pills or caps it is a powder which you drink... a very tasty drink! One scoop with 6-8oz of water and the taste is pretty decent, this is Fruit Punch, it mixes instantly and leaves no mess residue. PES Alphamine claims to be effective at mobilizing fat in the "stubborn" areas of the body (ie love handles, lower belly, chest) through stimulation of Selective Alpha-2 Andrenergic Antagonists via their SA2-A extract. It also claims to have substantial muscle sparing effects and also boasts to increase muscle hardness through the use of selective beta-2 agonist N-Courmaroyldopamine (NCD). Why am I using it? You always tell people patience and dedication is all you need? It's true. All you need is patience and dedication to get the job done but as I like to do reviews on supplements, really the only time I can do fat burner / thermogenic supplement reviews is when I am cutting... and after this cut is over I don't plan on getting in a state where I will need to cut hard again! I could finish the rest of my cut without any addition pills but feel this is an ideal time to go all mythbusters on this product. If anything, the best thing you want from a fat burner is appetite suppression - because if you can control your hunger, you can control your calorie intake and in turn, your weight loss. This is going to run for about 6 weeks so I will let you know what I think to it once the tub is empty! I am going to run 2 scoops a day.... until then! Thanks for watching! Stalling on Starting Strength

06:13
Question from a subscriber / viewer the other day: " Hey Dan I'm rolling starting strength have been for just over 2 months making gooood gainz, I got my squat too 100kgs a few weeks ago but missed it only just 3 times at 3x4 so I had to reset. Back to 100kgs last week but now I can only get 3x2 and it feels so damn heavy been stuck on it for 4 sessions now. I had a week off the week before I got to 100kgs again. Any advice on breaking the plateau? I don't wanna fuck with the program too much but today I added a back off set at 80kgs which I got 7 reps for just for some volume." In this video I give my insight into what I would do in respect to hitting a plateau AKA stalling. When To Reset Training Max

04:29
YouTuber HypnoticPrime asked the following question regarding training maxes resets: "What do you do if you don't hit the 95% rep"... he also asked when to reset but I can't bloody find where the comment is... Wendler states that when you are stalling ie: missing the required reps then it is time to reset. Some people feel if they are not getting more than the required reps then that is when they want to reset, I personally think a reset is needed if you can't hit the required reps, as remember you should have still added weight since the last cycle. It is worth noting that a reset may not be the answer... you may have problems with your diet and rest, therefore recovery which is stopping you from making progress... a reset will not fix poor recovery. You need to solve the root cause of any problem. The reset protocol is take your current estimated or actual 1RM and drop 10% off, taking you to a 90% "Training Max" just like you should have started 5/3/1 in the first place. You may need to drop off by 20% but just play it steady with 10% to begin with. Cube Method Deadlift Explosive - C1W1W2

04:10
Explosive Deadlift session for Week 2 of Wave 1 for Cube Method. This was done on Friday before I went away for the weekend (hence the lack of upload). I was able to deadlift off my 4.5" block which puts the trap bar handles at pretty much the right height for normal pulling. This is a great result, especially since I have had no back pain all weekend. The neutral handles still allow for a more upright pull, rather than leaning but it is a win for now. Snatch Grip off blocks also felt great. After feeling good on the trap bar backwise I figured I would try my luck with these, since the snatch grip requires much more of a forward tilt (unless you're wearing Oly shoes or have great ankle mobility). Rest of the session went great, working up another sweat as standard. Quest Nutrition Choc Chip Cookie Dough Protein Bar Review

04:40
So in the May box from JackedPack I picked up something I have simply being DYING to try... a Choc Chip Cookie Dough Protein Bar from Quest Nutrition... I have consumed almost a 100 Quest Bars to date... but not one of these... until now! My old review on the Fudge Brownie Quest Bar is here, I scored them an 7/10 because I felt they are let down by texture and appearance... I like to feel like I am eating something chocolate / candy bar esque... although these ARE the BEST nutritional content bars on the market. Fudge Brownie Review: http://youtu.be/xpdXftxr5AI Ok so these are simply amazing. I've tried many of these bars now... Coconut Cashew, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Vanilla Almond Crunch... Cinnamon... Fudge Brownie.... this one blows them all away on every level. It's texture is JUST LIKE COOKIE DOUGH. It has that cookie dough smell and taste too... and it LOOKS LIKE COOKIE DOUGH... for me it is a solid full marks of 5 out of 5 on all accounts. Now don't get me wrong... I still love me some Oh Yeah! Bars... I have two boxes in stock as it happens... but the Quest Bar destroys it nutritionally and now is on par when it comes to taste, smell, texture and appearance... boom... sign me up, I am sold!!! I now have a problem... I no longer have any more of these in the house... I think I may end up killing someone if I don't get another within 24 hours... For the final set of Pendlay rows I did 117.5kg x 3 reps. Felt good. Assistance work was V Bar / T Bar rows... decided to give overhand rows a rest this week. Not done these for a while, found that they felt easier. Bare in mind that these are not gunna be crazy strict form when done this heavy but like I have said a few times now, heavy rows get the job done! Followed up with overhand lat pull downs and then went into bench press. Managed to hit a 130kg x 1 Bench, failed on 135kg. Hey Ho. Thanks for watching! Squats with Joker Sets 5/3/1 C14.1

03:52
First squat session for Cycle 14 and following up from last weeks deload I have had a bit of a change around with my stance. I am taking a lower bar position and wider stance. It just feels right for me. Main sets went well, 120kg x 5 reps on the 5+ set and after a five minute rest I took on the first of the Joker sets. 132.5kg x 5... went fairly well. Another five minute rest and then onto the next JS... 147.5kg x 5... but I only managed two reps... which is fine! The Joker sets are just there for you to continue if you are having a good day... or call it if not up to scratch. You still go balls out on the 5,3 and 1+ sets but cap yourself to 10 reps. You have to give it your all on those main sets because if you save yourself for the "jokers" and don't even get the first set... it's a waste of a session. Did some box squats after, used my bench which was slightly high but padded the floor up with wood for more height. Will get some more wood, feels better box squatting on this bench than my wooden blocks. Important UK Notice | Vitacost Import Fees

03:39
Ok so I posted a video a while ago about where I buy supplements from; in that video I dropped in my $10 off referral code for one of the sites, Vitacost.com, an American supplement site. $10 off over $30 referral: https://www.vitacostrewards.com/hzloGaA Now, since I don't want people coming to me and kicking off when they get hit by customs I am sharing this info with y'all... as I want you to save money, so that means making the best decision based on the varying prices you can find. Basically, I have been charged with customs fees for the past few orders from Vitacost. The guy in Royal Mail told me that EVERYTHING that comes in through them customs wise is now subject to a minimum £8 handling fee (cheeky bastards) and then subject to VAT and Import Duty (which I guess, is fair enough). Now, this will not stop me from ordering from there because once you have added a few items in, the delivery and import fees often work out cheaper still than places here... but of course you have to consider delivery time too. If you can save more in the UK... use UK. If not, weigh up your options first! Hope this helps! Cube Method Explosive Squat - C2.1.1 - Let's Make Some GAINZ

03:32
Confidence restored. Progress mode engaged! After the success of the mock meet (in terms of feeling with the weights, speed of the bar on the lifts) I went straight into this next cycle of Cube Method with my head held high feeling good about making some progress... finally... it's been too long on the side line. Explosive squat day, 100kg for 8 sets of 3. I was doing a mix of paused and normal reps. On explosive day I decided I will be doing more pause work during the main days. Front squats felt pretty burtal! This whole session just felt brutal to be honest. Probably due to doing the heavy lifting the day before. So far... so good. ProSupps Jekyll and Hyde Stack | Pre Workout Supplement Review

08:01
So what happens when Good meets Evil? In this Pre Workout Supplement Review you are about to find out... I'm going to stack ProSupps Mr Hyde and Dr Jekyll... time to release the monster! VITACOST REFERAL CODE $10 OFF ORDER OF $30 (or more): https://www.vitacostrewards.com/hzloGaA I have reviewed the old Hyde before that contained DMAA / 1,3 Dimeth you can see it here if you want to know more about it: http://youtu.be/YESAn0jUYjM Ok so basically this was my first time trying the new Mr Hyde - I should have maybe tried it on it's own first but I thought... nah forget it yo homes to Bel Air. I pulled up to the hou... nah. I tried the Jekyll prior to this at 2 scoops... it gave an insane pump which was to be expected with all the Agmatine Sulfate in it! Stacking the two gave slightly less Agmatine but the pump was still sickeningly good! Cliffs: Energy: 10/10 Focus: 10/10 Pump: 10/10 Overall: Solid 10/10 Whoa!! This is a strong stack... definitely not for the faint hearted! The muscular energy provided by this stack allowed me for a great length in my gym, the session was huge and I could have easily kept going! Focus was intense... all I could think about was lifting and nothing else... no other concerns... nothing! Pump... whoa... dat pump. I can compare it to Gaspari Vasotropin which is a pure pump product... everything just blew up! Side Effects of the stack I have to say; that much caffeine on top of all the other additional stims was a little too much for even me. I felt a little bit too jittery for my liking and whilst squatting I found that I was getting a little light headed.. something that never happens. I would definitely recommend the products individually and as a stack I would say go for half Hyde and one scoop Jekyll. Thanks for watching! 200kg Squat Fail and 165kg Squat Triples

02:54
So the other day I attempted a 200kg squat after not really training squats over the Christmas period. I failed and I like to show my fails, as failure is a major part of progression. It looks very similar to how I first failed 180kg when I first tried it; pop straight out of the hole and then boom tilt and bin. It's because I went in doubting myself for sure. Torso needs to be and stay upright throughout for me, any excessive lean and it's getting binned. Back to training then, 165kg x 3 for 7 sets was a fairly decent session. Ended up hitting an accidental pause because my arse was playing up and my squat groove was off. Ended up on my toes, was able to sit back and recover the rep. Couple of reps of front squat to finish followed by a love session with my LAX ball. Thanks for watching! --- FAQ's and Discount Codes --- I'm 5'8" - Certified Manlet and can't grow a full beard. 127.5kg x 9 SS Bench // 185kg x 8 TB Deadlift

02:24
I think this was Saturday that I did this. Maybe last Friday. On the previous day I planned to do this session but felt like wank and the bench part was not good so I decided to do the session again the next day. So the first time round on bench it was 140kg x 1+ which I only got 3 with... so not good. Dropped the max right down and redid the day. Pleased with how it worked out I've also raised my bench to competition max height to see how it effects my bench. I used to bench on toes and that was great on this low bench but now with flat feet its not so great. Trap Bar getting tough now. Most likely because actually lifting nearer to proper max weights now. Will be fun to do this with 200kg soon. Conventional pulls feeling much more smoother and efficient and not causing me any grief. Macenko Max Out Mayhem! | Bench Press Session C7.3

04:26
Ok so the full session of yesterdays Macenko Bench Routine Max Attempt. Finally got the 140kg to go up and the buzz was so insane that I had to go on and do a full session! I was only planning on doing the max attempt! I also tried out the ORIGINAL formula DS Craze which was sent to me by a guy off the uk muscle forum, the review / thoughts will be up some day soon. Hard to say whether it was that which was making feel all kind of feels or the fact I had hit a new PR... After the main max out, went on to do a 5x5 of more barbell bench, starting at 100kg and working up to 120kg. Fatigue was setting in by the 5th set and only managed 4 reps. Quick rest and went on to some dumbbell work, had a go with the 55kg's but arms where all over the place lol so dropped to 50kg's and was much better. Finished with some BW dips just to stretch out the triceps. All in all, was a good day! Thanks for watching! Joining the 1000lb Club | 460kg Total

02:14
Ok so I am meant to be on a deload week for Wendler 5/3/1 but I thought screw it lets have a go at some actual 1RM attempts. Did pretty well even though I think I am still a bit fried from Sundays Deadlifts but nevertheless I have now entered the 1000lb club at a bodyweight of 185lb and 1.5 years of consistent training (and half of that has been in a caloric deficit!) For Bench Press hit 130kg x 1 and failed on 140kg. Deadlift wanted 190kg x 1 but failed and hit a rather tricky 180kg x 1 which I got 2 reps on last Sunday. Squat managed to hit 150kg x 1, was hoping to shoot for 155kg but had a feeling it would be heavy. That gave me a total of 460kg / 1012lb so just in by the skin of my teeth! Decided to have a go at Overhead Press whilst I was at it. Managed 70kg x 1 pretty clean but failed on 75kg x 1. I'm more than happy with this. Thanks for watching, next stop the 1100lb club! How Long Should I Do An Assistance Pattern Exercise For

07:43
Question on the Facebook page from Tommy Nutter: "Hey dan, i watch ur stuff a lot, i need some guidance on 531. Basicall im due to start this in 3 weeks when my new rack arrives, i just need to know, if i choose one method of 531 ie boring but big, or triumvirate, how long should i stick with that method, A whole cycle, 2 cycles? Also i know in the book it says to stick to the same assistance exercises for a while so you can see progress being made in your assistance aswell as the main lifts, does this mean that if in week 1 i was doing lat pulldowns a certain day, then in week 2 on that same day id have to do lat pulldowns again , or could i do wide grip pullups. As this is technically the same movement and methodology but not the exact same exercise and i wouldnt be able to compare my weight lifted, or reps achieved etc. I know ur a busy lad so whenever u get round to answerin this id greatly appreciate it. Keep up the good work." Basically, in a nut shell, I would stick to an assistance pattern until you feel you are no longer making progress. I am a strong believer in a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" kind of mentality... that is why my training has being so similar over the last two years. If I start to struggle to make progress, I will change things to suit. Individual exercises I believe you should try to do them frequently within the cycles otherwise you may find progress with them is not optimal. I hope this helps, any questions please contact me through facebook, twitter, comment below or email. Thanks for watching!
