The Female Cross-Dressing Serial Killer - Hungary 1920s - Viktória Fődi

28:20
Viktória Fődi's experiences as a child caused her to develop a hatred of men. In her early 20s she left her husband in the night to start a new life; around this time a rare glandular problem made her appearance more masculine. Deciding that she and her daughter had a better chance of survival as a man - she cast off her female clothing and donned the clothes of a labourer. Soon she had a job working on a cattle ranch and went under the name Peter. Not long afterwards many men in the next town were being found by their wives hanged in the barns of their homesteads. The verdict was always suicide....but what was really happening? SUBSCRIBE & BECOME A FOLLOWER OF ODDNESS: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=ObsoleteOddity https://www.facebook.com/ObsoleteOddity The interior of the R.M.S. Titanic was lavish. It offered every luxury that could be enjoyed in 1912. After the mechanics of the ship, the interior was the most detailed. Hand carved oak, teak and maple woodwork was everywhere. Only the most lavish furniture was used. The bathrooms were finished in the most modern style of the times complete with showers, bath tubs and double sinks. There was even flushing toilets on board the ship. Huge dining rooms sat several hundred and after a good meal passengers could retire to one of the several smoking lounges for drinks and cards. There was a complete, modern gymnasium for workouts and even a indoor swimming pool, which at the time was quite unique. There were clothing shops, a barbershop and a beauty salon. Racketball courses were on deck along with areas for other games. The Titanic was the most luxurious ocean liner ever built at the time. The following are photos taken of the ship's interior right after it was built and shortly before it sailed. Also, there are photos of passengers enjoying the ship not knowing that, for many, this would be the last event of their lives. NOTE: We have passenger Frank Browne to thank for many of the pictures taken here of rooms in the Titanic that show people using them. Music: Court and Page by Silent Partner

Times were hard after the Great War and meat was often difficult to purchase. But the locals flocked to Herr Denke's stand, for he always seemed to have something on offer, and the prices were almost charity. Karl's living quarters were situated very close to the train station, and itinerant travellers were always welcomed warmly at the Denke residence. There's a pot of stew bubbling on the stove, “Would you care for some?” asks Karl - How could a hungry wanderer refuse? “Take a seat by the hearth” gently intones the host ...”I'll just fetch my axe to make some more kindling for fire”.... A Paris Apartment that was left untouched for more than 70 years...has been finally unlocked and it's treasures revealed....come and take a peek. Madame Marthe de Florian. was a little-known actress and demimondaine (courtesan) who had a collection of lovers, who were well known identities of the day - including: "Georges Clemenceau, Pierre Waldeck-Rousseau, Paul Deschanel, Gaston Doumergue , and the esteemed Italian artist Giovanni Boldini." It is the last on this list, artist Giovanni Boldini, who plays the most important part in this interesting story. Though this story begins with Madame Marthe de Florian it continues on even after she passed away in 1939. When she died, her Paris apartment was inherited by her granddaughter, Solange Beaugiron. She resided in the apartment until the outbreak of World War 2, at which time she sealed it tight and fled to the south of France. No one knows why she never returned, but she left the apartment untouched and the rent was automatically paid (by her appointed lawyers) until her death in 2010. It was then when people were sent in to inventory the apartment that the amazing time-capsule was opened. I don't own the rights to the music - The track is Madeline's Lament by Nox Arcana

The Beautiful Haunting of the Empire State Building - Evelyn McHale - Narrated Version

25:28
Oddie's Historical Feature - Narrated version of previously 'silent' video from 2016 Welcome to another 'Oddie's Historical Feature'! As well as looking at strange people through history, I'll be also presenting strange but true events that leave many questions unanswered. In memory of Evelyn McHale 1923 - 1947 Evelyn was just 23 when rode the elevator to the 86th floor of the Empire State Building....and ended her life. From the numerous sightings reported, it appears her ghost is still replaying her tragic jump to this day. There's not much more to add here - just that I like to think that this haunting is just like an echo or recording, and that Evelyn's soul has moved on. Time Capsule House! - House Frozen in Time after 83 years

04:00
This house in England was built in the early 1900's, and was purchased by a middle class couple who ran a local shop. After their deaths in the early 30's, their two sons decided to keep it exactly the way it was when their last parent had died. (and they continued to run the parents shop) This shrine escaped the fashion dictates of the following decades, and remained a time capsule right up until the brothers died; the last surviving brother, who had no heirs - had bequeathed it to the National Trust - The interior style is just as it was in the 1930's....even the food has been left in the cupboards. Oddie's Historical Feature - Episode 3 This is the story of Beau Brummell George Bryan "Beau" Brummell (7 June 1778 – 30 March 1840) I won't write much here – immerse yourself in the video, and go back in time, to when Beau soared to the giddy heights of social success ....and then his fall from grace, ending in a cheap room in Caen, France. Bear in mind please dear viewers, that this is a diluted version of his life; intended for viewing whilst on the train to wherever you may be going, or while you're at the office, when the boss thinks you're doing the monthly report. :) There's plenty of information about Beau Brummell, if you care to do detailed research. Silent Twins - Interior Worlds - Dual Narration w/ ImoriStar

This is the astonishing tale of June and Jennifer Gibbons, identical twins whose silent, antisocial exterior hid a rich, vast, creative life. Christine & Léa Papin grew up in Le Mans, France. After a tragic upbringing, things appeared to be going in the right direction for them; they had a good job as head servant/cook & chambermaid in a the house of a wealthy middle class family. By all accounts, they were fed & treated well & had a comfortable heated room on the third floor of the large house of Monsieur Lancelin & his family. Then one day, the girls snapped...leaving a horific trail in their wake. No one could quite believe that these two kind & demure young women, could be capable of such shocking & grisly murders.
