Your medication Doxycycline Doxycycline is also known by the brand names: Doryx, Oracea and Vibramycin. Doxycycline comes in 2 different salt forms, hyclate and monohydrate. They are available in capsules, tablets, and an oral suspension. There are many different strengths available. Doxycycline is most commonly used to treat bacterial infections, acne, and rosacea. No matter what your doctor has you taking it for, doxycycline is usually taken by mouth with or without food twice a day. Take doxycycline with 8 ounces of water, and sit up for at least 30 minutes after taking to reduce the risk of esophageal irritation and ulceration. If upset stomach occurs, take doxycycline with food. Do not take Pepto-Bismol, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, multivitamins or antacids within 2 hours of taking doxycycline. If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your normal dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. Some common side effects with doxycycline include common cold, upset stomach, acid reflux, and loose stools. Some less common side effects include stuffy nose, headache, increased blood pressure and a skin rash. While taking doxycycline, remember it is important to tell your doctor or pharmacist if: • You have signs of an allergic reaction (rash, itching, swelling, tightness of the chest, etc.) • You have an allergy to doxycycline, other tetracyclines, or any component of the formulation. • A color change in a tooth to yellow, gray, or brown, especially in children younger than 8 years old for this change in color will not go away if it happens. • You are on birth control as it may not work as well to prevent pregnancy. If you are pregnant or may become pregnant, do not take doxycycline. All forms of doxycycline including the liquid needs to be stored at room temperature in a dry place protected from light. Use the measuring device received from the pharmacist or doctor for the oral liquid. Shake the oral liquid well before each dose is given and discard any liquid remaining after 14 days. It is important to take this medication until the fully prescribed amount is finished, even if symptoms disappear.

Your medication DuoNeb DuoNeb is also known by the generic names: ipratropium and albuterol. DuoNeb contains both ingredients. DuoNeb comes in a solution for nebulization. The solution contains 0.5mg ipratropium bromide and 2.5mg albuterol per 3mL. DuoNeb is most commonly used for opening the airways in lung diseases where spasm may cause breathing problems. DuoNeb is for breathing in only as a liquid by a machine (nebulizer) into the lungs. You should not use the solution if it is cloudy, leaking, has particles in it, or if it changes colors. Do not mix other drugs in the nebulizer with DuoNeb. Standard dosing of DuoNeb ranges from 1 vial every 6 hours to 1 vial every 20 minutes in sudden asthma attack situations. Your medication Symbicort Budesonide and formoterol is also known as the brand name: Symbicort. It is most commonly used to treat asthma in patients over the age of 12 but can also be used to treat asthma in children. No matter how old you are, depending on the severity of your asthma, Symbicort is taken two inhalations twice daily with a maximum of four inhalations per day. It comes in inhaler form and is taken by pressing inhaler to release medicine into mouth and then swallowing. Some common side effects of Symbicort are headaches and upper respiratory tract infection. Some less common side effects are dizziness, abdominal distress, vomiting, influenza, back pain, bronchitis, and nasal congestion.
